INSIGHTS
Dear readers
I have written this book of poetry to share some insights in the hope they can benefit everyone. I hope you find the poetry enjoyable, interesting, even inspiring, and ultimately useful. I believe everything we have is given and we shouldn’t be stingy in sharing it so I have not held back in sharing some of my deepest insights and wish this to be read by everyone regardless of race, religion, gender etc.
Please also forward this book on to as many people as you can and read and share my other work, also available for free, details below.
With love and sincerest best wishes

INSIGHTS
All is empty without love
Attention = Growth
Curiosity runs forward
Dendrites
Handshake
Limited view
Opportunity
Rushing is roughness
Spinning the wheel
Striving
Struggle is needed
There is a truth
When death comes to you
When the soul looks through the eyes
MODERN LIFE
Awkward
Cats
Dark grey
Dressing shells
Early to rise
Leaves fall all around us
Peace knocks on our door
Procastin…
Sins
Stay on the right, son
Technology
The world is like a jigsaw
TV
Two ducks
Which programme do you want with that?
Which sauce?
OTHER
All aboard!
Old friends
Orange
When Mr Grumpy died
Who lifted the door of Khyber?
INSIGHTS
All is empty without love
All is empty
Without love
Emptiness greater than can be conceived by the imagination
Take the emptiness of a hungry stomach
And multiply it a thousand times
And still, the emptiness of a soul without love is greater.
The body is limited, and the stomach even more so
The soul has no physical boundary
Physical food can fill the physical stomach
Only spiritual love can fill the soul
The soul:
A wide, dark, gaping hole
Without love
All else is dust and air, at most
Without love
Love is fullness, love is complete
Love fills, and it warms
Love is.
Attention = Growth
That thing grows
To which you give attention
Give attention to your studies
And your knowledge increases
Give attention to your health
And it improves
Give attention to your family
And your bonds strengthen
When given attention
Hearts and souls move
Give attention to your skills
And they get sharper
Give attention to the old
And blessings increase
Give attention to children
See how roots get solid
Give attention to good deeds
And experience peace
That thing grows
To which you give attention
Curiosity runs forward
Curiosity is great!
It makes us ask questions
And from the answers we learn
Curiosity pushed our ancestors
To push boundaries of existing knowledge
And now it’s our turn
Curiosity pushes us forward
With the gust of wind “Why?”
This question is great!
The one who asks why is interested
Interest lead to passion
Passion for learning – an incredible state
And what of apathy?
Apathy doesn’t care.
It thinks it knows everything.
Or even if it doesn’t know
It turns its face away
Scared of the change it could bring
Apathy holds us back
In the stagnation of “So what?”
This question is designed to kill
Any internal desire to learn
As well as any knowledge seekers
Fire and strength of will
Let apathy sit, disinterested, not caring
Let curiosity run forward, living, and daring.
Dendrites
Learn! Learn!
Something both useful and interesting!
See how your dendrites grow
Like branches of trees
Densely packed
More and more connections
Yielding so much fruit
In the winter of old age
Leaves may fall
But branches are still there
Look up at such trees in admiration
You’ll see the branches, dendrites
Still there, still connected, still lively
And more protected
From age related decline.
Handshake
A person shares their concerns with you
Listen! Don’t dwell on your own thoughts!
When they reach out to you, by listening, you reach back
Ah! Connection! Not virtual, but real!!
When your soul gives you signs
That it wants to learn, work, or give
Listen! By listening and responding you reach back
And then begin to heal
When a subject reaches out to you
Listen! To the teacher, the books
Let yourself be gripped by the subject
And you will have a grip on the subject too
Yes, many times someone, yourself, other things
Reach out to us, shake our hand
Because their reaching out is only one side of the handshake
Agree, reach back – the other side is you.
Limited view
When we’re nervous, we don’t look fully, clearly
Outside, walking in a shopping centre
Our gaze is leaning to one side
A person or something we’ve seen
Head almost locked into position
When we’re reading something we’re not comfortable with
A bill, a textbook, an e-mail
We may again only read it from the sides
The left, right, bottom or top
When we’re not comfortable with someone’s opinion
We may focus on one aspect of it
Or only on ours
Again, not seeing the full picture
How can we take in the full scene
Understand the information, the person
Without accepting the full picture?
Be open, relaxed, freer
Live whole.
