  Finally, he got the call to say that everything was ready for his final inspection of the club. Tony grinned; he couldn’t wait to see it.

  When he thought back over his life so far, he realised he’d played some very dangerous games, although possibly none so dangerous as facing up to the boss of the South London gang. Killing Eddie Rawlings had been a close second, but he’d got away with murder. Despite having seen hard times, he’d come out triumphant, the undisputed winner. He had money, looks, charm, and powerful allies. He’d achieved his dream and now had the club to manage. In a year, it would be his for real – he would own it outright. He refused to believe the deal could fall through.
