“You’re back already?” Her smile makes my heart leap. I don’t speak; I just nod with a smile on my face. “What are you smiling about?” Angel licks her lips, walking toward me with a grin of her own. When she wraps her arms around my waist, I almost lose myself.
“I wanna take you somewhere.” My arms drop before wrapping around her.
“Where are, we going?” Her excitement is palpable. I can feel it radiating off her.
“I don’t know yet. Thought we’d just ride.” Her lips land on my neck. Shivers roll through my body with every feel of her.
“I love being on your bike.” If she only knew, how much I loved having her on it.
“What are you cookin’? You look damn sexy standin’ in this kitchen in my t-shirt.” I don’t miss the way her body shudders. It’s one of the best feelings in the world, knowing I can set her body on edge like that. Running my fingers under the hem of her shirt, I realize there is nothing under this t-shirt.
“Fuck!” Her fingers tangle in my hair. I lift her swiftly, spinning us to slam her body against the wall. Her eyes fill with a fire that only I can put out. Reaching between us, I unfasten the buckle on my belt before yanking my jeans down. With my dick in my hand, I plunge into her. My finger toys with her clit before coming to rest on her hips. Getting inside of her as deep as I can, Angel moans out her pleasure.
“Devil! Shit!” There it is. My name leaving her mouth is perfect. I’ve never heard anything sound so goddamn sexy before.
“I’m gonna fuck you on every surface of this house.” Pumping into her, I grip her hip tighter. Her pussy clenches around me, cutting off all my sanity. I lean my head down, biting at her neck when I feel her cum. It’s rough and fierce.
“FUCK!” Blowing my load inside of her, I’m gone.
Chapter 22
I fucked Angel on almost every surface of the house before we left. I still have that counter in the bathroom to look forward to later. Right now, with her hands wrapped around me, I’m at peace. The open road and the woman I love, what else could I want? I know the answer to that, though. I want the blood. I want the bodies of the motherfuckers that set her up to be hurt. I want to see them, look them in the eyes, as their life slowly fades away from them. That’s the problem I seem to be having. That internal war. The part that wants to kill and see the blood, is against the part that wants to be good for Angel. I could never change who I am, but I’ve thought long and hard about calming it down.
Only, for her.
If I didn’t have her, I wouldn’t need to tone it down. I’d go all out, guns blazing like always. That part that wants Angel to be happy though, it’s overriding everything else.
Her fingers toy with my stomach under my shirt as we ride. I don’t think I could feel any happier than I do right now. Angel might not have been what I was looking for in life, but she sure the fuck is what I found. Sometimes life throws you a curveball, and you have nothing more to do than to go with it. Angel’s my curveball. I let it slam into me, and now I’m taking that ride with her. I don’t think life could have given me anyone better than her. I pull off on a small side road before pulling to a stop. I cut the engine and climb off. Helping Angel off, she grins at me.
“What?” Shaking her head, she pulls her helmet off, setting it on the seat. She grabs my hand, quickly sending jolts of electricity through my body. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to feeling that. It’s an indescribable sensation.
“This is beautiful.” Her words are a whisper as the moonlight illuminates the ocean. She’s right though, it’s perfect.
“I want to watch the sunrise with you.” My words surprised her. I heard the gasp.
We sit in the sand, my arms wrapped around her. Angel rests her back against my chest. This is beyond perfect. Nothing but the crashing waves, and the moonlight.
“There was never a time that I thought I’d have this. Shit like this just wasn’t meant for me.” I nuzzle my face into her hair, loving that scent of her.
“We all deserve to be happy, Devil. Even you,” I sigh against her before pressing a kiss into her hair.
“I would always look at people and wonder, how good of a past they had to have, to be that happy. Every time I turned around, it was a livin’ hell for me. Then I saw you that day.” Her breath catches in her throat. I heard it.
“What did you think?” God, I love this girl.
“I thought, look at her. Smilin’ and happy. Livin’ her life the way she wants to. She’s full of life, and here I am, sittin’ in the dark. I always wondered what made you smile like that.” Angel cocks her head so she can look over her shoulder at me.
“I wasn’t always happy, Devil. I was free, though. I think I smiled a lot, even when shit hurt, because I know that I made it happen for myself.” Kissing her forehead softly, she smiles.
“Do you ever regret what you did? Goin’ out on your own?” Angel shrugs before snuggling back into me.
“I suppose I regret a lot of what I did. Not that I left, but the things I did being at the clubhouse. If I could change anything, it would be what I did there. I don’t regret being there, though. I found you there.” She’s right. I can see where she’d regret the things that she did.
“What about you? Do you ever regret things?” I take a breath, knowing that there are tons of things I could regret, but can’t.
“My past is what made me. If I regretted it, I wouldn’t be me. I can’t say that I’m sorry for killin’ people or takin’ lives that weren’t mine to take, though. I can still feel it. I want it. It’s a part of me. I like to think that my dad instilled it all in me but the truth is, I think it’s just me.” Angel doesn’t turn to look at me this time.
“We’re goin’ after them. That’s why Dragon called me in there. We took a vote.” Angel sighs, she had to know it was coming, nonetheless.
“You promise to come back?” Pulling her closer to me, how could I not?
“You can’t get rid of me, that easily.” Angel laughs before turning to kiss me.
“I never want you to go.”
Chapter 23
We sat in silence. The inevitable was coming. I’d have to leave her, and go find these assholes. I want it, though. It’s more than just the need to kill, it’s the need to make sure Angel’s safe. It’s the need to make sure she feels content at all times. Fuck, it’s the need for me to know that she’s safe.
“Look.” Nodding toward the sun as it starts to rise in the sky, Angel presses in closer to me.
“Do you think it will ever end?” Not knowing what she means, I pull her face to mine.
“Be a little more specific.” Kissing her soft lips, she moans into my mouth.
“All the killing. All the death.” I wish I could say yes. I wish I could tell her it would be different, but in reality, it will always be like this.
“I can’t say yes. I’d be lyin’. I won’t include you in any of it though, Angel. I will keep that shit away from you as much as I can. I will protect you.” Angel shifts so she’s sitting in front of me, our eyes locking.
“That’s not what I’m asking you to do. I know who you are. I know what you do. I knew it when I stepped foot into that clubhouse, Devil. I don’t want you to change for me. I love you. Just like this.” Running her fingers over my lips, I smile.
“I love you, too.” Her lips slam into mine. She shoves me back onto my back, kissing me with a heated passion. Her hips straddle mine and if we weren’t sitting in a public place, I’d fuck her senseless. My hands roam up her back, tangling in her hair. Her kiss becomes frantic. Angel grinds her body against me and damn it to hell, my dick is hard as a rock. Angel feels it, too. She pulls her mouth away from mine, her eyes burning holes into me.
“It’s going to be hard to ride home like that.” Angel leaps up, taking a few steps away from me. I shove myself up, watching her.
“That was the most fucked up thing, you’ve ever done.” Pointing at her, she smiles and walks backward, toward the water.
/>
“But you love me, Devil!” Screaming it, I laugh before dropping back. Leaning back on my elbows, I watch her splash her feet through the water.
“And so, the Devil–loves an Angel.”

I enjoyed my little reprieve from life. Angel is the best person I’ve ever known. She agreed to stay at the clubhouse with Aria and the other old lady’s while we go on this run. Dragon got word on a few places we need to check out. I’m so ready for this; I can barely contain myself.
“She looks happy.” Roc steps up next to me as we watch our girls talking and laughing.
“She is. So am I.” Glancing over at Roc he stands there with a huge grin on his face.
“You are. I can see it. I’m glad, Devil. You deserve this.” Nodding once, my eyes fall back on Angel.
“I’ve never met anyone like her, brother. She’s always makin’ me look at myself differently. In a fuckin’ good way.” Roc chuckles before taking a step away.
“The good ones do that.” I have to agree there. Aria has changed him in ways that I never saw coming either. Angel turns to look at me, the smile on her face is perfect. She walks over slowly before throwing her arms around my waist.
“Do you know how much I love you?” I lean down, pressing my lips to hers.
“Enough to wear my patch?” Angel gasps before pulling back slightly.
“Are you serious?” The look on her face is priceless. I can’t get enough of it.
“I’m always serious, Angel. I want every part of you to be mine.” Her smile is infectious. She presses her lips to mine before biting my bottom lip. This girl is going to be the death of me.
“You can’t go makin’ my dick hard before I leave, darlin’. I can’t ride like that.” Her laughter hits me in the heart.
“You amaze me, Devil.” Now it’s my turn to laugh. I amaze her? Yeah right.
“We need to head out!” Dragon announces from across the room. Angel’s smile fades, and it rips me apart.
“No tears, sweetheart. I can see it in your eyes. The prospects are here and we got other guys from out of town surroundin’ this place. You have nothin’ to worry about.” I can see the tears welling up in her eyes. I don’t want them there.
“Except for you.” That earns her a smile.
“You never have to worry about me. I’m Devil.”
Chapter 24
Leaving her was hell. I hated it. I didn’t want to, but I do want this shit finished. The first place we looked was a bust. There wasn’t anything or any signs of those motherfuckers there. Dragon’s intel has us pulling up to another MC. I can’t say that I like this shit either. My nerves are on edge as it is. Meeting a new club? Not at the top of my damn to do list. The parking lot is loaded with bikes. This club is way bigger than ours is. I don’t like the feeling that rolls around in the pit of my stomach. I glance around, taking in our surroundings incase things go bad. I hope like fuck that they don’t, though.
“This it?” Glancing over at Dragon, he nods. I can tell he’s just as wound the fuck up as I am.
“Yeah. Keep straight. They are supposed to be good guys.” I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that before, and it didn’t end so well. We cut the engines and climb off our bikes. I make note of my gun in the back of my jeans, the one in the holster under my cut, and the one strapped to my ankle. Hell yeah, I come prepared.
“Just stay alert.” Glancing around at all of us, we nod and follow Dragon to the front door. It flies open, and a shit ton of men come walking through it.
“You must be Hell’s Fire.” The man eyes us up and down. Dragon nods, taking a step forward.
“I’m Dragon. You must be Hell’s Country.” The man nods, extending his hand. Dragon takes it in his before the man pulls him into a hug.
“Anyone after the goddamn Throwers, is welcome in my house!” The man laughs before introducing himself as Bear. I can see why, too. The big hairy motherfucker is bigger than Dragon, and that’s saying something.
“Let’s drink boys. We got shit to discuss.” We follow them inside and meet up with the rest of his crew. I must say, they all seem pretty straight.
That doesn’t always mean anything, though. We’ve had these kinds of run-ins before.
We follow Bear to the bar where he motions for us to sit.
I drop down next to Dragon as my eyes scan the room for any sign of possible threats.
“So, let’s talk. Throwers are on your radar for a reason.” Dragon nods before taking a long pull of the beer that was set in front of him.
Dragon told Bear basically everything that happened, including the part about Angel. Bear has kept his eye on me the whole time, which sets something off inside my head.
“You know they change, right?” His eyes still linger on me. I don’t know what the fuck he’s talking about but it’s making me uneasy.
“What changes?” Meeting his gaze, he smirks.
“Women. I married one. She came in here strung out and fucked half the club. I looked at her differently than the others. She was lost and lookin’ for somethin’. I gave it to her. We have four kids now. Best woman I know.” A sense of pride swells in my chest. I know Angel is different, I’ve always known.
“I’m glad it worked for you, brother. I know what I got. Don’t plan on losin’ it.” Bear smiles as he nods his head.
“So, this Throwers shit. We’re on if you want the backup. I have a little intel on a location. I just wanted to see what all they fucked up, with you guys.” Dragon blows out a breath, before running his hand through his hair.
“Let’s do this then. We need to get this shit finished in a timely manner.” I can tell Dragon is irritated.
“Give me a few minutes. Let me make a call.” Nodding at Bear, Dragon turns to look at me.
“You got any feelin’s on this?” Dragon asks me. I shrug before grabbing my beer.
“They want them dead, I say, let them lead the way. We’ve pulled out all our stops, Dragon. I don’t like draggin’ other clubs along but whatever gets us there.” I tell him. Dragon nods knowing that it’s the truth.
“Go out there and tell the guys to get ready. I’ll wait on Bear.” Slapping a hand on his shoulder, I stand, taking my beer with me.
Dragon chuckles. Shaking his head, I walk out the front doors to where Ghost and Roc are waiting. They stand there laughing and shooting the shit.
“You girls ready for war?” I holler. They both turn to look at me with smiles on their faces.
“We finishin’ this shit?” Nodding once, Roc grins. He wants this shit as badly as I do.
“Fuck yeah. It’s about time.” Ghost walks toward me, pulling me into a hug.
“Once this is over, you take a break with your girl.” He says, pulling back. I nod my head. That won’t be a problem.
***
We’re surrounded by all the Hell’s Country, men. It’s a strange feeling to have so many bikes in one place. The road is covered. It’s also strange to have another club riding with us. We’re typically solo for the most part. That’s what keeps us together. We run our shit, we take our rides, but we do it our way. Pulling to a stop, everyone cuts their engines and climbs off their bikes.
I follow suit, looking around the area.
“Their makeshift clubhouse is on the other side of that warehouse. They hear this many bikes rollin’ in, no doubt they’ll run.” Dragon looks at Bear before looking over his shoulder at us.
“We run it. My boys have a personal interest in this shit.” Bear grins before nodding his head. Dragon filled him in, he knows.
“We’re here for backup, brother. You do what you need to do. We handle what’s left.” Dragon and Bear shake hands before Dragon turns, walking toward us.
“You guys got it. You wanted it, here it is. Bear’s boys will run backup. We got free range.” Dragon announces. My stomach leaps inside of me. I love the sound of that. My fingers twitch, ready to pull the trigger or slice through a throat. This has been a long time coming
, and now that the time is here, I’m ready. Dragon looks at each of us in the eye, like he always does.
“We don’t leave a brother. We get ambushed, we all go.” Nodding our heads, we all know the drill. This is what we are. We are a bonded family. We don’t leave anyone behind. If we go down, we go down as a family. We fight until the very end.
“Let’s do this.” Nodding my head at Dragon, I crack my neck from side to side.
We begin the short walk toward the warehouse with Hell’s Country right behind us.
It’s a strange feeling having them back there, but it’s a good one, too. At least if we come up against too many Throwers, we have that backup in place. We march, like a goddamn army. If it was any other situation it would be amusing to see. I’m glad that we have that kind of loyalty, though. It means that we will always have some kind of backup in place.
I can hear the laughter coming from the other side of the warehouse. It grates on my last nerve. The monster inside of me is being called out, and I’m letting him go full force. I close my eyes briefly as the visions of blood surround me. It’s always been a high for me. The feeling that shoots through me when I’m in that kind of zone is something I can’t describe. Every fiber of my being is reaching out, searching for that crimson liquid that sets my soul at ease.
Dragon signals to us and the Country. We split in half. Half going right, half going left. My heart slams in my chest as I take the lead to the right. My chest is tight, my finger’s caressing the trigger of my gun. I’m ready for this. I’m ready to watch these motherfuckers fall. I peek around the corner, my senses on high alert. Seeing those motherfuckers laughing and having a good time pisses me off. They should all be dead. They should all be six feet under for what they did. Twirling my finger in the air, I signal to the guys that we’re moving.
