Me and My Hot Professor

Chapter Eleven
Naomi
I woke up to soft kisses on my neck and a hand on my belly. It took me a second to remember that I got dropped off at Josh’s house. I opened my eyes and he smiled at me. His blue eyes were bright as ever and his hair was disheveled. He kissed my neck again.
“Good morning,” he said. I stretched and murmured something that sounded like “good morning.” Josh smirked and I got out of bed. The room was kind of spinning, I wondered if I was still drunk. I stood still for a moment and then the world settled around me.
“Bathroom?” I asked. Josh pointed to one of two doors on the far side of the room. His house looked like a bungalow on the outside but inside was all modern and looked to have been expertly decorated. I stepped into his bathroom and caught a glimpse of myself in the vanity mirror, I didn’t look too terrible. My hair was a little frizzy and I definitely needed to wash off my makeup. I washed my face then ran my wet fingers through my hair a few times until it was tame enough to leave down.
When I stepped out of the bathroom, Josh was still in bed. He sat up, leaning against the headboard with one hand behind his head. His bare chest was exposed, the blanket was bunched up around his waist. For a second, I just took him in for aesthetic appreciation. He looked like he was a model making an ad for the sheets.
“You’re…where did you get your looks from, your mom or your dad?” I asked and made him laugh.
“Both, I guess? Come over here,” he sat forward and watched me climb into bed beside him.
“We didn’t have sex last night,” I said. I was ninety-nine percent sure but wanted to check anyway.
“No, for exactly that reason. You were drunk. You don’t remember what we talked about?” he asked.
“No…” I said. The night before played out like a dream in my head, the Lyft that V and I took dropped me at Josh’s place, then I just remember seeing Josh and being with him. I didn’t realize how drunk I actually was.
“I know…that we can’t have much of a relationship but I don’t like not hearing from you outside of when we see each other,” he said. My brows furrowed and I studied his face. Where was that coming from. What did we talk about the night before?
“I was busy this week between work and homework,” I said. “What did we talk about last night?”
“You think of us as fuck buddies,” he said.
“But aren’t…we?”
“Not to me, no,” he said. “We’re a little bit more than that, at least, I want us to be,” he said. I pinched the bridge of my nose and had a sudden craving for orange juice.
“Josh. We can’t go out in public like a normal couple. This is what we’re confined to,” I said.
“You can at least call or text me more often,” he said.
“Fine. I’m sorry,” I said, hoping to squash whatever he was upset about. I’d never had any sort of relationship with anyone more than two years older than me. The level of expectation and attention was weird and different.
“There’s nothing to be sorry about,” he said. Josh rolled onto his stomach and put his arm around my waist. “Have you been in a serious relationship before?” he asked. I pressed my lips together and his brows furrowed. He didn’t like my answer but what could I say?
“I’ve never been…good at relationships, Josh,” I admitted. He sighed and then he kissed my collar bone.
“Why?” he murmured against my skin.
“Why does it matter?” I asked.
“Communication seems to be the issue,” he said.
“Are you going to keep interrogating me or what?” I asked. Josh chuckled and I scooted to the edge of the bed to get up.
“Wait,” he said. He pulled me back and got on top of me. I looked at him patiently and he slipped a hand underneath the shirt that he gave me to wear.
“Josh…” I sighed. He kissed my neck and caressed my breast. His hand slid across my stomach and snuck under my panties. As soon as his fingers touched my pussy, my body reacted to him and my annoyance fled. His fingers slipped over my clit and he rubbed the sensitive nub while my legs tensed.
“Tell me how I make you feel,” he said in a low, throaty voice. I looked at him and he brushed his lips over mine in a feather light kiss. I put my hands on his arm while his fingers continued to tease my clit. Heat swept through me and the waves of pleasure were making it hard for me to think.
“Hot,” I managed to say. Josh bit my nipple through his shirt and a spear of pleasure shot through me. I felt moisture gush inside my pussy in a rush and Josh moaned.
“Hot and what else?” he asked patiently, his low voice was like magic in my ear. My body reacted to him as if he alone held the keys to my pleasure.
“Wet,” I moaned. Josh slid two fingers into me and thrust them quickly against my g-spot. “Josh!” I cried out and my body shook as I came. Josh climbed on top of me and lifted my leg with his forearm. He was already erect and rock hard. He bathed the tip of his cock with the moisture from my pussy then pushed into me.
“Fuck,” he growled. I arched my back, loving the sensation of him filling me up as my pussy still quivered from my orgasm. I knew it wouldn’t be long before I came again. Josh rocked his hips back and forth. His thrusts became harder and faster and his cock reached deep within me, kissing my cervix with each plunge. My skin was hypersensitive, as if electricity danced over me. I pinched and rubbed my nipples, painfully taught with arousal.
“Josh, I’m gonna come,” I gasped. My muscles tightened with the need to orgasm and my pussy gripped his cock tight. He groaned and then my body exploded in climax. I trembled and shook as the pleasure rolled through me. My pussy milked his cock and he cursed then went still inside me. I felt his cock pulsing as he released and his body shuddered. We looked at each other, I was dizzy and his eyes were unfocused.
“It’s always too good with you,” he breathed.

After we had sex, Josh made eggs, bacon, and toast. We sat on his patio to eat. It wasn’t too hot and there was a nice breeze coming through.
“What do you have planned for the day,” I asked.
“Grading papers, then I’ll probably visit my sister and nephew,” he said.
“You’re close with your family?” I asked. It was a strange concept for me, V and I were definitely not close with our families. I hadn’t talked to Jessica since the birthday lunch. Forget about my mom, dad, or brother.
“Very,” he said. “My nephew, he’s two, is the best. He lost his dad in a bad accident so I like to be around for him,” Josh said.
“You like kids? Outside of your nephew,” I asked. Josh nodded, then I remembered him mentioning that he’d been trying to get pregnant with his ex-wife before she cheated. I wondered when he’d want to try to start his own family. It was obvious he wanted one. But what was I? It wasn’t like we could be headed towards anything serious. Inexplicably, tears jumped to my eyes and I quickly looked down at my plate and blinked them away. Yeah, I was definitely hung over.
When we finished eating, Josh dropped me off at my apartment and I took a bubble bath. I had to work later and needed to decompress a little. This thing with Josh felt weird from the beginning but it also felt like neither of us could justify giving it up. I was curious about him and I knew he wanted me but making our relationship work was already difficult.
I got dressed after bathing and settled in the living room to work on a study guide. Jerry jumped off of the couch and padded to the front door, rubbing his back against it. Then someone knocked. I wondered if it was Josh and got up to look through the peephole. My brother stood on the other side of the door alone. Confused, I stared for a good half minute or so. He knocked again. I debated letting him in, then figured, he must have something serious to tell me or else he would never be visiting so out of the blue.
I unlocked the door and opened it. Jerry stepped out and curled around Casey’s legs. “Casey?”
“Hey, sis,” he said awkwardly. He ran his finger
s through his dark brown hair and then fixed his t-shirt like a nervous tick. “I wanted to come by to apologize,” he said, furthering my confusion.
“Huh?”
“Can I come in?” he asked. I stepped aside, still very confused. Casey walked to the breakfast bar and leaned against it, he picked at his nail and I closed the door once Jerry walked back inside. “I know we’ve never really gotten along…ever,” he said. “I’m sorry for always picking on you. It’s obvious you don’t take some of my teasing as a joke and I do it anyway, I’m sorry. And I’m sorry for saying all that stuff on mom’s birthday. I’m a dick,” he said. “We’re family and it’s crazy that I don’t know that much about you,” he added.
I walked towards him and stopped a few paces away. “I…where is this coming from all of a sudden?” I asked.
“I got some news and it hit me all at once how fucked up it is that we’re so distant,” he said. “You should be able to count on me as your older brother and…” he shrugged. “I’m sorry, Naomi.”
I wondered what the news was but surprised myself and him by saying, “It’s okay, I…I forgive you.” Casey hugged me and that simple act felt like crossing the first rung on a ladder towards where we should be.
We separated and he looked down. “Um…uh,” Casey cleared his throat. “Do you want to have lunch with me and Jess? We kinda have something we need to talk about,” he said.
“Sure, yeah. Let me just put something on,” I said. I hurried to my room and changed into a nicer blouse and heels because I knew my siblings and they wouldn’t be caught dead at a restaurant with less than five stars and a dress code. I left my hair down, the curls had fallen out and made it wavy. When I stepped out of my room, Casey was on the phone.
“Yeah, we’ll see you in a few,” he said and hung up. He must’ve been talking to Jess. “Ready?”
“Yeah, where are we going?” I asked.
“Up the road, some restaurant in North Miami that she found,” he said. I nodded, not knowing what to say, really. I never had to make small talk or any sort of conversation with Casey before. Usually I’d just ignore him and vice versa. So, the car ride was quiet, to say the least.
The restaurant was inside of a hotel which overlooked an inlet near Sunny Isles Beach. Casey gave Jess’s name to the host and he led us through the wide open dining room to the back. Jess sat at a table for four beside a wall of huge floor to ceiling windows that showed the view of the inlet. She stood up when she noticed us and gave me a weak smile and a tight hug.
“Hey,” I said. “What’s going on?” Casey sat down and unfolded his napkin. Jess gestured to the seat next to hers and I sat. She didn’t say a word until we were all settled at the table and staring at each other. “What?” I asked, no heat in my tone, just deep confusion.
“Naomi…mom and dad are getting a divorce,” Jess said. My mouth fell open and my eyes widened. “You probably haven’t noticed, because you don’t come around as much, but they’ve been rocky for a while now,” she said.
“A divorce?” I asked. My emotions were miles ahead of my shock frozen mind because I started to tear up. I didn’t know that I cared about my parents being together as much as I did until then.
“When you moved out of the house to start school they were stuck with each other as company and…it turns out that they can’t stand each other,” Jess said. She unfolded my napkin and wiped the stray tear that escaped from my eye.
“A divorce?” I asked again, stupidly.
“Can you blame mom, though? Dad’s an asshole,” Casey said, shockingly. Never in a million years would I expect Casey to say something bad about Dad.
“When…is it finalized?” I asked.
“Just about. They’re splitting everything fifty-fifty. So far, they’re being fair about everything. Mom’s keeping the house, Dad’s moving to a condo,” Jess said.
“The condo he’s had for months, apparently.” Casey said.
“I feel like there’s a huge story I’m missing,” I said. Our waiter came to the table and took our drink orders then set a bread basket down.
“There’s no huge story, really. They’ve been separated for a while, Dad bought a condo and they’ve been putting up a front for our sake with all the dinners and…shit,” Casey said. He took a sip of his water and looked at the glass as if he wished it were the cocktail that he ordered.
“Well, shit,” I said.
“Yeah,” Jess murmured.
“We should have more of these, just the three of us. Like lunches or dinners or drinks,” Casey said suddenly.
Jess nodded and glanced at me. “Yeah,” I said, “that would be nice.”
Chapter Twelve
Josh
When Monday came around, I was eager to see Naomi. We talked briefly on Sunday and she sounded off, distracted. I stood at the front of the room and smiled at students as they trickled in. I had the papers to pass back and planned on another group discussion for the reading I assigned.
I glanced at my watch, class was officially started and I was still waiting on Naomi to walk in. I shut the door and addressed everyone, got them into groups and started passing the papers back while they engaged in discussion. I couldn’t help watching the door, my eyes flitted to it every few minutes.
Naomi walked in ten minutes late and found her friend, Jacob, and joined his group. She was wearing a long sleeved shirt and shorts. Her hair was in a messy bun and there were a few bags under her eyes. It bothered me that I didn’t know what was wrong and that she didn’t think to talk to me about whatever it was. After class she didn’t even look at me on her way out.
As soon as the day ended, I had to pick Kaden up from pre-school. Amy needed me to babysit for a few hours. So I took him to the park and we grabbed some dinner before I took him to Amy’s. I drove back to my place thinking about Naomi and wondered if I should even ask her what was wrong. It didn’t make sense to get in too deep with her because she was right on a certain level. We couldn’t be anything more than what we were.
I called her and had half a mind to head in the direction of her apartment. She answered on the third ring. “Hey,” she said.
“How are you?” I said. Then came the long sigh.
“I’m…I don’t know,” she said. “It’s my family,” she muttered. I asked if I could come over and she said yes. When I got to her place, Naomi was in pajamas, though it was way too early to be wearing pajamas. There was a pot on the stove and the scent of garlic bread was in the air.
“Want some pasta?” Naomi asked. She walked to the stove and grabbed a bowl out of the cabinet beside it.
“I already ate, thanks though,” I said. She nodded and then took the tray of garlic bread out of the oven. She set herself up at the bar and I sat next to her.
“You didn’t look so good in class today,” I said. She took a bite of her pasta, made a face and chewed slowly.
“I got sick randomly and my parents are getting a divorce,” she said. She pushed her plate of pasta away from her and took a bite of the bread, she made another face and pushed that away too.
“A divorce?” I asked. She nodded and took a sip of her water.
“God,” she said and hopped off of the stool to run to the bathroom. I wondered if it was the stress of the news that was making her sick and waited for her to get back. I doubted she would want to see the food when she came back so I rummaged around the kitchen until I found Tupperware and put all the food in the fridge for her. By the time she came back out, pale, I had finished washing her dishes.
“Oh, Josh you didn’t have to,” she said. “Thank you.”
“It’s no problem,” I said. “You never thought your parents would divorce?” I asked. She shook her head.
“No. On positive side, my brother apologized to me,” she sighed and then walked to the couch and sat down.
“Maybe you should talk to your parents, one at a time, you know? Figure out what happened or what’s going to happen,” I suggested.
&
nbsp; “I don’t…I’m not ready to talk to them yet,” she said.
“What can I do?” I asked. I felt helpless. I’d gone through a divorce before but my parents were solid. They’d been married for fifty years so far. I didn’t know what I would do if they split up. I knew Amy would be devastated. Naomi told me she wasn’t close to her family but I imagine she was messed up over it.
“Cuddle?” she said. I smirked and then joined her on the couch and held her against my chest. She put her arm around my waist and rested her ear over my heart. I felt her own heartbeat against my side and soon I heard her breathing change, she was asleep. It took me five minutes to doze off.
“Josh?” Naomi poked me in the chest. I woke up and glanced at the window in the kitchen. It was still dark.
“What time is it?” I asked.
“Two. Do you have classes to teach tomorrow?” she asked. I shook my head.
“Do you want to stay over?”
“Yeah. Are you feeling better?” I asked her.
“Sort of,” she said. We sat up and moved to her bedroom and watched tv until we fell asleep again. Come morning, I left before she woke up. I knew that I was getting too attached to Naomi, part of me couldn’t help it. I hoped that would wear off, my attachment to her, when the newness of our relationship wore off. Staying at my house or hers would get old and eventually we’d split, right?
Chapter Thirteen
Naomi
Ever since having lunch with Casey and Jess, I caught myself checking my phone every other minute. I was still waiting for my mom or dad to call me and break the news to me themselves. It was fucked up that they couldn’t tell me like they told Casey and Jess. And therein lied the problem. They forgot about me all the time.
“Hey Nao,” Jacob nudged my shoulder. I was standing outside of the classroom, not ready to go in and try not to stare at Josh or look like I’ve seen him naked.
