Shield Knight: Rhodruthain
Page 3
“No!” roared Rhodruthain, gathering power to strike.
The Maledictus’s mist-wreathed cowl looked at him, and Rhodruthain heard the creature’s cold laughter in his head.
“Soon,” whispered the Maledictus, and his image vanished and unraveled into nothingness.
He hadn’t really been there. It had only been a projection of his magic, an illusion spun by his corrupting mist.
Just as his image had been there a hundred times before, attempting to trick Rhodruthain into lowering the wards.
Rhodruthain lowered his hand, breathing hard.
He had to hang on. He had to defend the Well.
He hoped the Shield Knight and the Keeper were still alive, that they could unravel the secret surrounding the Seven Swords.
Because without them, Rhodruthain knew that he would fail…and the New God would arise to enslave the world for all time.
