Interplanetary Love

Carly laughed. He’d come all this way to see her, to make amends. Her ex wouldn’t cross the road to apologize let alone fly across several galaxies. Damn, she liked this man. “I have an idea for passing the time,” she said, advancing on him and not stopping until they were chest to chest. She touched the bare skin at the V of his shirt and traced circles with her forefinger. “We could have our own private party here. Alone. Together. No pressure or expectations.” Desire stirred inside her and flared.

Carly glanced up to judge how he felt about her idea. A virgin. She studied his face—his beautiful eyes, his high cheekbones, and the sexy, very kissable lips. Not often a girl got to initiate a virgin. “What do you say?” She bent her head and licked the tanned flesh she’d been fingering.

She heard the harsh intake of breath and his hands grasped her biceps, drawing her fully into his arms. His cock pressed into her belly, thick and firm and full of promise. Carly shivered, excitement building enough to make her heart pound.

She undid the buttons of his shirt to expose his muscular chest. “Very nice,” she whispered, peeking up at him through her eyelashes. “Cat got your tongue?”

“No! I mean, are you sure? What if Ra…ah, I can’t perform?”

“Come with me,” Carly purred, taking him by the hand. Rajah. He’d named his penis Rajah. It made her want to laugh. “All you and Rajah need to do is lie back and think of Nidni. I’ll take it from there and make things happen. I promise.”

She led him into her bedroom and toed off her shoes before sliding his shirt down his arms. The silky fabric fluttered to the floor. Next, she unfastened his trousers and pushed them, along with his underwear, down his muscular legs.

“See.” Carly grasped his shaft in her hand and stroked him. When she smoothed her finger across the very tip, a drop of seminal fluid formed. “Everything will be fine.”

Ekim suppressed a shudder at the warmth of her hand and strength of her grip on Rajah. Desire unfurled in his belly while his heart thundered. She seemed so sure. Confident. And that in turn convinced him all would be well. “You’re overdressed,” he said, relaxing enough to enjoy the intimacies of touch.

“Easily remedied.” Carly stepped away to whip off her clothes and pushed him down on the bed. She grinned, her gaze sweeping his body. Rajah stirred. “I don’t think we’ll have any problems. I’m wet with arousal already. Just looking at your body does that to me. Rajah is long, thick and hard. Oh no.” Carly licked her lips and slipped onto the bed beside him. “We’re going to have lots of fun.”

Ekim believed the sincerity in her voice and decided to let the future unfold. He thought he could trust her, and even if it turned out he was mistaken, the kafuffle couldn’t be any worse than now. He rolled so his chest brushed her breasts and angled his mouth over hers. It was like coming home. Their lips moved together. Clung. Mouths mated and tongues surged and retreated in parody of the act to come. For once, Ekim forgot about performing and simply enjoyed the moment. His hand cupped her breast, and her soft flesh filled his palm. He kissed his way down her neck toward her breasts, using his teeth and mouth.

“Mmmm. Kiss me here,” she whispered, offering him her breast.

Ekim bit her nipple and drew hard. She sucked in a deep breath and released it on a husky moan of pleasure.

  “You do that so well.”

Her praise made him feel like a king. Following instinct, he petted and teased her flesh. Kissing. Touching. Stroking until his attentions to her bubbled over to him, and Rajah wept freely, pulsed and thickened. Each touch fueled a driving need to give as much as he was receiving in the way of pleasure. His balls ached for release but he waited, touching and petting and kissing Carly instead. He parted her legs and delved in the sweet spot, probing her cleft and massaging the small bundle of nerves that would give her pleasure.

“No more,” she said, her gaze meeting his and holding. “Inside me. I want to feel you fill me and stretch my pussy.

A shudder went through him. “Yes.”

“Come inside me then. Love me, Ekim.”

A moment’s doubt made him hesitate.

Carly smiled, the curve of her lips holding caring and encouragement in the face of his lingering fears. “Do you want me on top?”

“Not this first time.” He had to get over his fears—both physical and mental. “Maybe later. Do we need to worry about contraception?”

“No. I’m covered against disease. Everything will be fine. That’s a promise,” she said in a throaty drawl and a waggle of eyebrows that made him impossibly hot. “Please, Ekim. Don’t tease me anymore.” She spread her legs wider in a silent invitation, an inducement he didn’t want to refuse. “I need you inside me now.”

Ekim rose over her, and she guided him to her pussy. He pushed inside a fraction, feeling the heat of her as she stretched to accommodate him. A moan built in his throat, a trace of worry dogging him, yet mostly overcome by his exhilaration because everything was working fine so far. Her hands laced in his hair, urging him onward. Ekim withdrew a fraction and thrust deeper. “Goddess that feels perfect. You feel tight and wet. Perfect.”

“It’s good for me too,” she said, arching her body upward so on the next thrust he slid balls deep.

A violent spasm of pleasure shook his body. She rocked against him, her tight, silken sheath massaging Rajah until Ekim feared he would burst.

“Move again. Slow, even strokes. It will feel good,” she promised.

Ekim followed her instructions, moving in and out, thrusting in an easy rhythm. The jolts of excitement grew, coming together until he existed in a world of pure sensation.

“Ekim.” Carly groaned, her eyes closed, her breathing rapid.

He pushed inside her and felt the deep, rhythmic clench of her pussy. Raw need and desire coalesced into an unrelenting ache that was both pleasure and pain. His hips jerked, and he managed one more thrust before Rajah exploded, spurting semen in powerful jets. A wave of love engulfed him as he clutched Carly tight. He was dimly aware of her climaxing, her heart thudding as hard as his own.

“You’re mine,” he whispered hoarsely. He didn’t intend to let her go. Feeling as weak as a newborn, Ekim rolled to his side, carrying Carly with him so she lay plastered across his chest.

“How do you feel?” she asked with a grin. “You’re not a virgin anymore.”

Ekim pressed a kiss to her bare shoulder. “Relaxed. You’re very special, Carly. What if I said I didn’t want to let you go? That I love you?”

A blaze of hope bloomed on her expressive face before dying. “We’re too different. We live on different planets. You’re famous.”

“How do you feel about me?”

Carly sat up and stared at him. “I like you more than any man I’ve met. I…hell, I love you, okay? That’s why I was so angry. I love you, and it scares the bejeepers out of me.”

Ekim smiled. “We can work everything out as long as we love each other. I think Interplanetary Love has made us the perfect match. Will you marry me?”

“I love you. I know that, but I’m not sure I can deal with the publicity, your career.”

Ekim smoothed his hand over her cheek. “The truth—it won’t be easy. The newshounds won’t let this go, not once they learn how close we are, but once my current contract is done, I’ve decided I’ll retire and write a film script and maybe the novel I’ve been thinking about for so long.”

  “Really? Where would we live?”

“We can live here on Earth or on Nidni or both. Whichever you prefer. You like your job, so I presume you’d want to live here and continue working. Or you could transfer to Nidni. I want you to be happy.”

A smile broke on her lips. “Oh, Ekim. I love you.”

“It’s mutual.” Then he kissed her, and they didn’t surface for a long, long time.

  Epilogue

  Two days later

“Yes! Yes! Right there, Ekim,” Carly pleaded.

His nimble fingers slid across Car
ly’s engorged clitoris while he pumped Rajah into her clinging, wet flesh. “Goddess, I’m never going to tire of making love to you.”

“Oh, Ekim.” Carly’s channel contracted around Rajah and swept Ekim into another explosive release. He relaxed for an instance before pulling out of Carly and tugging her into a tight hug. “Goddess, I love you, lady. I’m not looking forward to leaving and finishing my filming commitments.”

“It won’t be for long,” Carly murmured. “Are you sure you still want to move here?”

“Yes, yes, and yes. I want to live where you’re settled. Your job is important to you, which makes it important to me. I can move on with my plans to write a screenplay.” Ekim’s communicator interrupted the glow of the aftermath and the start of another kiss. “I’d better get it. It might be my agent. Yeah?”

“Ekim, it’s Rala. Where are you?” She sounded so grumpy he laughed.

  “With Carly.”

  “With Carly?” she shrieked.

  “Yeah. We’re getting married.”

  “Married?” she shrieked even louder.

Ekim held the communicator away from his ear. “You’d better shout a bit louder. I don’t think the newshounds heard.”

Rala’s heart raced, and she registered her face was wet. Tears were streaming down her face. Happy tears. Carly and Ekim were joining. At last, she was free to pursue Gregorius. She wrapped her arms around and hugged herself in elation. The movement abraded her nipples, immediately diverting her mind toward sex and formally mating with the man she loved.

  “Are you there?”

“That’s wonderful, Ekim. I’m so pleased for you and Carly. Mama and Papa like her very much. So do I. When will you join?”

“At the festival of Veta in three months,” Ekim said.

“Can I tell Mama and Papa?”

“Sure, but don’t tell anyone else. I don’t want the newshounds to start speculating and writing stories about Carly. I’ll arrive home in two days and will talk to Mama and Papa and you, then.”

A strident bell rang. “Just a sec, Ekim. Let me answer the gate bell. The droid is out doing chores for Mama. Papa is in his study and will get grumpy if he’s disturbed. Please, don’t hang up. I want a quick word with Carly.” She pushed the intercom button. “Yes?”

“It’s Gregorius. I have an appointment with your father.”

  A gasp escaped. “What?”

“Open the gates, sweetheart, so I can come inside.”

She pushed the button for the gates, swallowed and fought to contain her panic. “Ekim, I have to go. Can I call you later?”

  “Sure.”

“I’m really pleased for you both. Congratulations.”

Ekim disconnected, leaving Rala with a frown.

“Did I hear the gate intercom, Rala?”

Rala swallowed and turned to face her father. “Yes, Papa. Your appointment has arrived.”

Papa sent her a piercing gaze before nodding. “Good,” he said. “Stay close because I believe my visitor and I might require refreshments.”

  “Yes, Papa.”

  “And answers to questions.”

  Rala gulped. “Yes, Papa.”

Her father strode down the stairs and past her to open the front door. She spied Gregorius, heard the murmur of voices and closed her eyes in surrender. This couldn’t be good. Goddess, what had she done? She dithered while the two men closed themselves inside her father’s study. As time passed, she started to pace. Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth.

Finally, the door opened and Papa stepped into the hall.

“Rala, my daughter. You have been very busy.”

“Yes, Papa.” On the plus side, Gregorius was still here and waiting in Papa’s study. Papa hadn’t kicked him out.

“Come into my study, We have much to discuss.”

Oh dear. That didn’t sound promising. “Yes, Papa.”

Rala lifted her chin a fraction and strode after her father. At least Ekim and Carly were getting married. She took a deep breath and stepped into the study, prepared to take her punishment. Maybe it would be her turn one day soon.

Read an excerpt from the book 3 in the House of the Cat series.

A shrill cry echoed through the arid valley. Unexpected, it set a shudder rippling the length of her body. Jannike Hondros, second-in-command of the Indefatigable, came to an abrupt halt, her stomach twisting anxiously even as she grabbed her blaster out of her hip holster and flicked off the safety.

“Tracker lizards.” At her side, Ry Coppersmith, captain of the space ship, confirmed her fears. He edged his petite mate behind him, but despite her size Camryn O’Sullivan was no pushover.

She neatly sidestepped him, wincing at a repeat head-splitting shriek, closer this time. “What are tracker lizards, and why are they making that infernal noise?”

“Trackers are the best available means of tracking an object or person. They never fail to capture their target. Never. The cries mean they’re on a scent,” Jannike said tersely, eyes scanning the far end of the valley. She’d experienced their tenacity before and hadn’t emerged on the winning side.

“Us.” Ry glanced at Jannike and with the ease of a long friendship they came to a decision without words.

Jannike gave him an imperceptible nod. “We need to split up,” she said abruptly, attention on the horizon. In the distance, maybe four or five clicks, she caught the swirl of approaching dust. “You need to shift, change your scents.”

“But Mogens said shifting might be dangerous.” Camryn cupped her slim belly in protest.

“We’re going to have to risk it,” Ry said without hesitation. “It’s either that or capture.”

“Capture? What’s going on? This sort of thing doesn’t happen on Earth. Usually,” Camryn added, obviously thinking about her own kidnapping several cycles earlier.

“I’ll keep going away from the ship,” Jannike said, a lump the size of a rock closing up her throat, making the words gravely. She swallowed dryly, silently cursing both the situation and this god-awful heat from the planet’s sun. The dry temperatures sucked the juice from everything, animal and vegetable. “Go.” It was surprisingly difficult to force out the order.

Camryn still frowned, not understanding. She squinted at her husband, shifted her attention to Jannike. “But—”

“Change. Now,” Ry barked. “Jannike, if you’re captured, we’ll come for you. We will not give up. That’s a pledge.”

“Same goes.” Secs later she started running, veering around the pile of rocks and sprinting down the rolling sand hill, away from Ry and Camryn. It had to be the cargo ship they’d seen earlier, but why had they set tracker lizards on them?

A thought sprang into her mind, and she stumbled before regaining her balance. Holy fukk. No, it couldn’t be her. No, that was impossible when Jannike was light years away from her home planet.

Behind her, the baying shrieks of the lizards intensified. S
weat trickled down her forehead, stinging her eyes. She slipped in the shifting sand, arms flailing before she toppled, hitting the ground hard enough to knock the breath from her lungs.

No time to baby herself. She had to move. Faster. She had to give Ry and Camryn time to get to the ship otherwise the entire crew could get sucked into whatever trouble they’d blundered into this day. Her blue tunic clung like a lover. A skin wet from sweat. The dry rocks in her throat closed her windpipe. She panted, a painful wheeze. Gods, she had to keep going. She twisted, rolling and pushing to her feet. She lurched her first steps, only her fitness and determination propelling her forward.

Concentrate on running. Forget the trackers. Don’t think about the past.

The landscape stretched endlessly in front of her—one big, inhospitable sandpit. Overhead, the planet’s sun beat down, frying everything in its path. And still she kept trying to run. One foot in front of the other, leading the trackers farther away from the Indy. Faster. Faster. The Indy’s crew were her friends, her family, and she’d do anything to keep them safe.

Determination gave her a burst of speed, but a glance over her shoulder told her the trackers had dramatically closed the distance between them. Their brown-blue bodies glinted in the bright light, strangely beautiful despite their ferocity. Their baying cries filled her head, lent panic to her adrenaline-fueled flight. She rounded a corner and came to an abrupt halt. A box canyon. The wall of rock stretched into the distance as far as she could see.

  Trapped.

  Nowhere to go.

Slowly, chest rising and falling in uneven gasps, she turned to face the four snapping trackers. Their bulging eyes blinked slowly, their wicked teeth white against the brown-blue of their skin. Their stubby tails shifted lazily from side to side, strong muscles in their haunches poised to spring should she attempt a sudden move. She edged along the rock wall, and they moved with her. She’d heard their bite was nasty and some people were highly allergic to their saliva.

But she refused to go without a fight. She reached for a handhold on the rock wall, digging her fingertips, attempted to lever her body upward.
