But Lorcann had known her first. He’d had access to her.

Gulielmus didn’t like the idea of that—that anyone had put their hands on Clarissa, even if she’d allowed it.
The woman obviously lacked sense.
“I suppose we can’t all be good at everything, elf,” he grumbled.
He glided to the ground and set off toward the ruins of the castle. His leather brogues sank into the mossy soil with each stride, making him cringe.
He had other shoes, he reminded himself. He had scores of shoes he hadn’t even worn yet, but there was only one Clarissa.
People certainly gave a much bigger damn about her than they did about Gulielmus’s wardrobe.
