“We are sorry for worrying all of you,” Shawn said while his eyes became red too, as he was on the verge of crying – and his brothers were no different.

“There is no need to be sorry. It wasn’t your fault,” Alexis said as he hugged her sons one by one. Emilia and Blasius were no different. This calmed the emotions of everyone.

“Where is Ryan?” Aldo asked, as he suddenly realized that their family’s new addition was missing from the scene.

“He is currently training in Starlight Forest. We didn’t tell him about you guys being captured given how much of a worrywart he is,” Blasius said with a big smile. Shawn and his brothers nodded their heads in understanding.

“Let’s head back home first,” Alexis said with a happy laugh.

Blasius and the rest readily agreed to her suggestion and quickly left for home. It didn’t take long to reach it. Shawn and his brothers quickly went to take baths given that they hadn’t had one since they’d been taken captive. They returned to the living room shortly and Emilia, Alexis and Blasius then filled them about everything that had taken place since their departure on the mission.

Shawn and his brothers couldn’t help but marvel about Ryan giving such a good account of himself in his first Divine Trials, and also about finding the source of Shana’s illness.

“Can we talk to him?” Shane asked eagerly, as he and his brothers now wanted to meet their genius nephew even more.

“Let’s wait until he contacts us on his own otherwise we might disturb him during his Closed-door Cultivation session,” Alexis said in a businesslike tone.

“Oh!” Shane said in a dejected manner.

“He usually contacts every week or ten days,” Emilia said with a smile.

“We can wait for a few days!” Shane said with a laugh.

The entire family talked for quite some time before having lunch together. They were all extremely happy.

Nero sent out a few spy teams to find a bit more about the mystery of the sudden appearance of Shawn and company in Heavenly Forest but none of the spy teams were successful even after spending a few days on it, as the news regarding that night had been completely sealed off by Devil King Abaddon. This further intrigued Nero and the other higher-ups as to what exactly had happened. They wanted to know more about the entire situation.

Sheldon and his four companions were no different. They’d immediately sent a Mental-message transmission to Herman and Heron informing them about it. They’d previously informed them in the first place about the kidnapping of Shawn and company by Devil King Abaddon and his demands for releasing them. They’d asked for instructions about how to deal with the situation, but had yet to receive any reply from Heron and Herman as their Mental-message had yet to reach them.

“Head Nero, who do you think saved them?” Lukas asked bewilderment. He and a few other Ancestor Level Martial Artists had been getting ready to make a move in a few days’ time, so it was natural that he would be interested to know more about who’d saved Shawn and company – and how.

“I have no idea,” Nero said with a nonplussed expression. He himself wanted to know who’d saved Shawn and company too. He wanted to reward that person handsomely. Lukas could only sigh on hearing Nero’s reply.

Four days after it started, the auction at the Celestial Auction House had finally reached a critical phase and had started auctioning rare Heavenly Treasures.

“As everyone knows, the Fire Dragon Heart Immortal Plant Spirit is a rare Fire Attribute Plant Spirit that can easily increase the Cultivation Level of any Fire Attribute Immortal Realm being by at least two sub-realms. The bidding price of the Fire Dragon Heart Immortal Plant Spirit will start at one hundred million Elemental stones,” the auctioneer said in an encouragingly up-beat voice as she introduced the Immortal Plant Spirit being brought to the stage in a glass box. The Immortal Plant Spirit looked like a little fairy, but it was releasing an overbearing aura of the Dragon species.

“I bid one hundred and one million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones,” a voice came from one of the booths in the endless dark space.

“I bid one hundred and two million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones,” a voice came from another booth in the endless dark space.

The voices that came from both booths were completely same. This was specifically done by the Celestial Auction House to make sure that the identities of their customers were not compromised in any way at all.

Soon a number of other booths started to bid and the price of the Dragon Heart Immortal Plant Spirit started to increase with each passing second.

“How long will it take for the auctioning of the Death Reversal Lotus?” Victor asked impatiently, as he looked with blood-shot eyes at the stage where the Dragon Heart Immortal Plant Spirit was being displayed. The others were equally frustrated by waiting like that. Victor and company had yet to even bid for a single item as they had to be careful about what they were spending their money on. If they didn’t return with Death Reversal Lotus, Nero and Rudolf might skin them alive – which no one wanted to experience.

They too wanted to bid in the auction like the other factions. The fact that they’d had to pass on lots of good stuff like the Dragon Heart Immortal Plant Spirit made them extremely unhappy. All that stuff could have been used to increase the overall strength of the Grandura branches of both family clans.

“The next one is going to be the Death Reversing Lotus,” one of the elders of the Eternity Family Clan informed them after checking the booklet containing all the details about all the auction items.

A smile instantly appeared on the faces of Victor and the others the moment they heard the Elder’s words.

The Dragon Heart Immortal Plant Spirit was finally sold for one hundred and fifty million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones. Everyone wanted to know the identity of the buyer as that was the costliest item to date, but it was not possible due to the various measures taken by the Celestial Auction House.

“One of the star items of this auction will be auctioned next. It is the Death Reversing Lotus. I am sure that more than half of you have come here for it. Its starting bid will be two hundred million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones,” the auctioneer announced with a lot of excitement, as a glass box containing a small humanoid was brought to the stage. The Death Reversing Lotus looked like a little imp and was releasing large quantities of miasma, as he looked at the auctioneer and the rest of them with extreme hate from the glass box in which he was sealed.

“Finally, we can start bidding!” one of the Elders said in high spirits inside the booth allotted to the Eternity Family Clan and the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the others were equally ready to bid.

“Three hundred million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones,” Victor roared at the top of his voice into the mic in his hand the moment the Elder finished speaking. The mic was used to transmit his voice out of the booth, as otherwise the booth was sound-proof.

Victor’s bid took everyone present in the auction by surprise, including his companions, and they looked at him dumbfounded. Generally, in auctions where such large money is involved factions slowly and steadily increase the price as even a little increase in price is astronomical. They do that with the intention of saving as many Elemental stones as possible, so such a big bid was bound to attract everyone’s attention.

“Don’t worry. The price of the Death Reversing Lotus will go even further,” Victor said to his companions, as he could tell that they were thinking of beating the shit out him.

“Four hundred Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones,” a voice came from one of the booths, following which a terrifying betting war started which made the price of the Death Reversing Lotus rise to the astronomical value of six hundred million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones. The anger o
f Nerva and the rest cooled as they heard the rapid increases in the price of the Death Reversing Lotus with each bid.

“I did my research before coming for the auction. Death Reversing Lotus appeared last time around a hundred million years ago in one of the auction houses of Grandura and it sold for around six hundred million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones at that time. I’m expecting the price to reach that here. The real betting war will start now,” Victor explained in a cool manner. Nerva and rest could only nod their heads in amazement.

“Six hundred one million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones,” Victor said into the mic next to him for placing his bet.

“Six hundred two million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones,” a voice came from another booth within seconds.

“Six hundred three million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones.”

“Six hundred four million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones.”

“Six hundred five million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones.”

Soon the price of the Death Reversing Lotus again started to rise but at an extremely slow pace. Victor and no one else tried to increase the price by a very large margin as even the slightest increase in the price would affect the pockets of anyone buying the Death Reversal Lotus to a very large extent.

“Seven hundred eighty million Primary Attribute High-grade Elemental stones,” Victor gritted his teeth as he placed his bid. He just hoped that no one would bid higher than that. This was at least half the wealth they were carrying with them.

Victor and company held their breath as they waited patiently for anyone to bid higher than them. The entire auction house had turned silent after Victor’s bid. The ones that were interested in the Death Reversing Lotus could only stare at the booth of the Victor and company with twisted expressions.

“Does anyone else wish to place a higher bid?” the auctioneer asked with a smile on her face. She already knew the answer to her question from the current mood that pervaded the auction house.

“I would like to congratulate the faction occupying Booth Number 87,” the auctioneer said with a bright smile.

“The next item is a sword forged from the bones of a Divine Beast that had a Cultivation Level at Late Immortal Saint Realm …” the auctioneer started to introduce the next item while the Death Reversing Lotus was brought to Booth Number 87 by a young woman.

“Sir, your Death Reversing Lotus,” the young woman said as he she handed over the glass box containing the Death Reversing Lotus to Nerva.

“Thanks a lot,” Victor said as he handed over a Spatial pouch to the young woman. She checked its contents and it took only a few minutes for her to confirm the number of Elemental stones after which she disappeared from the booth.

Victor and company looked at the Death Reversing Lotus with big smiles before Nerva stored it away in his Spatial pouch.

“Let’s check out other things now,” Victor said, as he took his seat. The others followed his lead with smiles on their faces. The auction was to continue for another few days and a lot of good things were yet to be auctioned, so naturally they were elated.

Ryan, on the other hand, was still in a deep Cultivation state cultivating Fire Elemental Laws within the cave. He’d been busy advancing his Death Fire Dual Attribute Soul Core within the white side of his Soul Core since his return from Raksha Continent.

The advancement of his Death Fire Soul Core in the white side of his Soul World had been delayed, but he didn’t care as long as he could successfully advance his Soul Core to Early Mortal King Realm as soon as possible. He had already advanced his Soul Core to Late Mortal Lord Realm four days ago but hadn’t received a boost from that – the same as when he’d advanced his Death Fire Soul Core in the black side of his Soul Core. But his Devils Flame had become stronger and now he could use it burn even Late Mortal King Realm beings to death without them being able to resist at all.

The vortex inside his Soul Core churned his Fire Attribute Liquid Spirit Power as it increased its purity with each passing second. It wouldn’t be long before he successfully advanced his Soul Core to Early Mortal King Realm, which would at least allow him to survive inside the Ancient Legacy Land, so long as he didn’t encounter the youngsters from the Main Branch of Calamity Sect.

Time passed and a day later the purity of the Liquid Spirit Power in the Death Fire Dual Attribute Soul Core started to increase at a terrifying pace.

  Boom!!

The Death Fire Dual Attribute Soul Core in the white side of Ryan’s Soul World had finally advanced to Early Mortal King Realm. His entire body was covered in terrifying Devil’s flames. He didn’t receive any kind of boost, except for another increase in the strength of the Devil’s flame. He could now burn Early Mortal King Realm beings into nothingness without them being able to defend themselves at all.

Ryan opened his eyes with a wide smile on his face, as he had finally reached his first goal. He was soon covered in Unholy black light and Fiery red light. This was finally the moment he’d been waiting for. He was gaining an Innate Ability from Earl, who was also covered in similar lights inside Ryan’s Soul World as one of the seals on his body disappeared. Soon information regarding the new Innate Ability from Earl appeared in Ryan’s mind.

Ryan and his Martial Spirits had shocked expressions as they analyzed the new Innate Ability. It allowed him to produce and infect other beings with a special kind of energy, that would transform those beings into Fire fiends.

Fire fiends are formidable Fire Attribute creatures. As they lack high intelligence, they will attack anything that comes into their sight. They aren’t regarded as Devils, as they lack many of the racial abilities of Devils but are regarded as Sub-devils, since they possess some of their racial abilities.

Humanoid races call the special energy used by Heretical Fire Devils to transform other beings into Fire fiends, Fire-fiend Energy. After entering the body of any being, Fire-fiend Energy will cause it to mutate and slowly transform into a Fire fiend.

Fire fiends also possess Fire-fiend Energy and they will try their best to infect other beings with it to increase their numbers. Thus, the number of Fire fiends can increase exponentially in a short time.

Fire fiends are extremely loyal to the Heretical Fire Devil that caused their transformation into Fire fiends. This allows a Heretical Fire Devil to possess an absolutely terrifying army by its side made up of beings that don’t even mind dying for it.

Generally, all factions in Mortal Universe or Divine Universe avoid killing Fire fiends as killing one results in a dramatic increase in the strength of the surviving Fire fiends under the control of its creator Heretical Fire Devil. Some of them might even evolve into Fire fiends with Heaven Defying Innate Abilities – Fire-fiend Lords, who unlike normal Fire fiends, don’t lack intelligence. Their intelligence is on a par with human intelligence and they can cultivate Fire Elemental Laws at an extremely fast pace, unlike Fire fiends that only know violence. This allows their Cultivation Level to increase at an extremely fast pace, even if they don’t gain strength on the death of a fellow Fire fiend.

In the past, large numbers of Fire fiends were killed by human factions, but this had resulted in the appearance of a few Fire-fiend Lords that were extremely powerful. Even Martial Artists from the Divine Universe were unable to harm them. In the end those Fire-fiend Lords could only be sealed and a fully-fledge search for the Heretical Fire Devil that had started that Red Calamity was started. The Fire-fiend Lords finally died after that Heretical Fire-fiend Devil was killed by human factions.

The most efficient way of dealing with an entire army of Fire fiends is to kill the Heretical Fire Devil that caused their transformation into Fire fiends. That one death will lead to the deaths of all the Fire fiends and Fire-fiend Lords under its control. This is the main reason Heretical Fire Devils are exterminated by the other races the mom
ent they notice one in either a Mortal Universe or a Divine Universe.

“Ryan, it seems that your luck is excellent!” Dargar said in excitement. Yama and Earl couldn’t help but agree with him.

“Yeah, I think so too!” Ryan said as an idiotic smile appeared on his face.

“This Innate Ability is called Red Calamity,” Earl said proudly, as this Innate Ability is the most fearsome Innate Ability of Heretical Fire Devils.

“I think I should pay a visit to Dark Moon Family Clan for the Spectral Diamond and make them pay a price with their blood for harassing my Master,” Ryan thought to himself as an evil smile appeared on his face. One thing was certain: the Dark Moon Family Clan would pay a bitter price at Ryan’s hands.

“First advance both your Soul Cores to Mid Mortal King Realm before making any such plans, since your understanding in Death Elemental Laws and Fire Elemental Laws has already bypassed their threshold requirements. You don’t have a lot of time, so concentrate on cultivating Elemental Laws. You will only need a week to create an Evil Avatar, so that will be OK, even if you go for it just a month before the Ancient Legacy Land opens,” Yama said, immediately shooting down Ryan’s plans.

“OK,” Ryan said in a dejected manner, but he also knew that Yama was correct.

For some time, Ryan and his Martial Spirits discussed the different ways they could use Red Calamity Innate Ability to their advantage.

Ryan took out his Mental-message transmission orb to call his mother, as it had already been quite a few days since he’d last talked to her.

“Ryan, how is your training going? Did you achieve a breakthrough in your comprehension of Sword-intent?” Emilia asked in a worried tone the moment Ryan’s Mental-message transmission connected to hers.

“Quite good. I’ve already overcome the bottleneck in the comprehension of Sword-intent. I got a very good feeling, when I killed an Elemental Beast last time. I am not far from completely comprehending First Realm of Sword-intent,” Ryan replied as a smile appeared on his face – and he wasn’t lying. He was so close to comprehending First Realm of Sword-intent.
