  Ryan and Cynthia talked for half an hour. Ryan had decided to first make Cynthia comfortable, as he could tell that she was shaken up by the ultimatum from the Dark Moon Family Clan – even now when she was talking to him normally.

  “I already know about the ultimatum issued by the Dark Moon Family Clan,” Ryan said in a steady tone, once he felt that Cynthia was somewhat calm and cool. An electric shock traversed through Cynthia’s entire body upon hearing that from Ryan, as she wasn’t expecting him to know about it.

  “How do you know about it?” Cynthia asked in a surly tone. From the start she’d had no intention of getting Ryan involved in that matter, as he might unnecessarily get into problems over it.

  “I have my own ways. I have a few questions too. Please answer them, as that will allow me to come up with a good plan to handle the situation,” Ryan said solemnly.

  “What do you want to know?” Cynthia asked solemnly.

  “When will the help coming from your Main branch arrive?” Ryan asked. This was the question of utmost importance as it would govern which plan he would use. One of the plans that he and his Martial Spirits had come up with took into consideration the Martial Artists from the Main branch of the Raffle Family Clan, and other one didn’t.

  “I have no idea but give me a few minutes and I will go and ask Head Reiner,” Cynthia said as she disconnected her Mental-message transmission orb from Ryan’s.

  Ryan kept the Mental-message transmission orb in his Spatial pouch, as he could tell that it would take some time for Cynthia to get the answer to his question. He then started to search for Mortal Sage Realm beings to burn.

  Ryan’s Mental-message transmission orb started to vibrate once again after an hour. Ryan was fighting a Mortal Sage Realm Elemental Beast at that moment. He could have burnt it to death without it being able to resist at all, but he’d decided to use it for honing his sword skills. However, as he quickly took out the Mental-message transmission orb from his Spatial pouch, he burned it to death with Hell’s Fire flame.

  “They are already here,” Cynthia said in a pleasantly surprised manner as she once again connected her Mental-message transmission orb to Ryan’s after a while. For the first time she felt grateful towards her family clan. Reiner had told Cynthia about the arrival of Anso and his companions on the instructions of Anso.

  Anso and his companions were keeping an eye on Cynthia from the moment she’d been given back her Mental-message transmission orb. They could tell that she was most likely talking to Ryan from the myriad of emotions that she showed. They could also tell that Ryan must be asking this for some important reason, so they allowed Reiner tell her about them being on Grandura, though Cynthia was asked to keep that a secret from the others.

  “That’s good. Now just do as I say. I want you get the help of those ancestors of yours to somehow postpone the marriage by a few months. I am certain that Rai will enter the Ancient Legacy Land, which means there is fifty percent chance of him dying and if I get an opportunity then I will try to eliminate him in there,” Ryan said with an evil smile.

  “Ryan, I have heard that he’s had a sudden surge in his Cultivation Level and has already reached Mid Mortal Sage Realm. His combat power is quite high, so he can fight beings in the Early Mortal Saint Realm. There is still some time until the Ancient Legacy Land opens so there is a chance that he might improve again,” Cynthia said in a worried tone. She had doubts about whether Thorn could handle Rai.

  “I have been planning for quite some time, so have faith in me. I won’t be just depending on Thorn. I have a lot of aces up my sleeve,” Ryan said and his evil smile became more pronounced. He was certain that even if Rai’s Cultivation Level increased to Late Immortal Saint Realm, he would still be able to kill him, as long as they crossed paths inside the Ancient Legacy Land.

  Cynthia decided to believe in Ryan.

  “What if the Dark Moon Family doesn’t agree?” Cynthia asked in a concerned manner. Cynthia’s worries weren’t without reason. The fact that the members of the Main branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan were present on Grandura meant that this could happen, even if the members of the Main branch of the Raffle Family Clan were present on Grandura.

  “If they aren’t ready to back off then use psychological attacks on them. I am certain that Rai will come along with the elders of his family to your family clan tomorrow morning. I want your ancestors to bait Rai into competing with me by taunting him in the presence of others – by comparing him with me on every matter and how I am a better choice for you compared to Rai,” Ryan began.

  “Given the arrogant personality of Rai and the other members of his family clan, there’s an extremely high chance that they will want to prove to you and your family clan how great Rai is compared to me. If that happens, just ask your ancestors to ask Rai to outperform me inside the Ancient Legacy Land if he wishes to marry you,” Ryan finished with a devious smile. Cynthia couldn’t help but nod in agreement, as she felt that this plan had a high chance of working.

  “What if all this fails, and they are still adamant on marriage?” Cynthia asked in a solemn manner, even though she was certain that the Dark Moon Family Clan would take the bait.

  “If that happens then I will ask the Grandpas of mine that have come from the Main branch for help,” Ryan said helplessly, though he was certain that such a situation wouldn’t arise.

  Ryan and Cynthia talked for some time before they ended their exchange, following which he called Sheldon. He knew that except for Sheldon and his other grandpas no one else could help him as the Grandura branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan had existences beyond the Immortal Realm in their ranks.

  “Grandpa, it’s me,” Ryan said the moment his Mental-message transmission orb connected to Sheldon’s.

  “What’s happened?” Sheldon asked, as he could tell that something was off from Ryan’s tone.

  “Well, I need help from you and the other grandpas in a certain matter,” Ryan said, following which he told Sheldon everything in detail. Sheldon listened to Ryan in silence.

  “When do you want us to make a move?” Sheldon asked with an airy laugh. He readily agreed to help, as he was fond of Ryan – and also because Cynthia was a Life Attribute Martial Artist.

  “I want to see how they react first. If my plan works, then you and the other grandpas won’t have to make a move,” Ryan said with a sly smile.

  “OK. Inform me the moment you want to us make a move,” Sheldon said as he disconnected his Mental-message transmission orb from Ryan’s.

  “Let’s hope everything goes my way,” Ryan thought to himself as he once again continued burning beings to death.

  Cynthia quickly went to meet Reiner in his Cultivation chamber and asked him if she could meet Anso and his companions. At that moment, Anso and his companions appeared there too.

  Cynthia was stunned by their sudden appearance but quickly regained her composure and gave a respectful bow to them.

  “What’s happened?” Anso asked with an amiable smile. Regulus and Rocco were standing by Anso side with similar smiles.

  “Ryan has come up with a plan to get me out of this predicament. I think his plan is quite good and it will help us avoid unnecessary trouble,” Cynthia said meekly, as she looked at Anso, Rocco and Regulus.

  “We are all ears,” Rocco said while maintaining his smile.

  Cynthia told them in detail about Ryan’s plan. The expressions of Anso, Rocco, Regulus and Reiner underwent changes from time to time as they listened to her.

  “How is he thinking of killing Rai with his Cultivation Level?” Regulus asked with a troubled expression. He wasn’t optimistic about the matter.

  “Since he is claiming to have the means of getting rid of Rai he must have something up his sleeves,” Cynthia said confidently.

  Anso, Rocco and Regulus looked at each other before they sighed. They could tell that Ryan most likely shared a few extra d
etails with Cynthia that she wasn’t prepared to share with them, as they couldn’t think of any other reason behind her confidence.

  “Let’s go along with that brat’s plan,” Anso declared. A beautiful smile bloomed on Cynthia’s face on hearing Anso’s words. Cynthia talked with Anso, Rocco and Regulus some more before excusing herself.

  “That brat is not normal for him to have come up with such an elaborate plan. He has decided to use the arrogant nature of the Dark Moon Family Clan against them. Having a relationship with him might not be bad for us,” Anso said after Cynthia left Reiner’s Cultivation chamber and Rocco, Regulus and Reiner nodded their heads in agreement.

  Time passed quickly and the next day soon arrived. A Teleportation portal opened at some distance from the Raffle Family Clan and the Dark Moon Family Clan entourage flew out of it. The entourage comprised the Head of the Grandura branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan, Richard and Rai.

  Rai was dressed extravagantly and had a big smile plastered in his face. He was quite happy at that moment as he was the one having the last laugh. He was only marrying Cynthia to teach her lesson – he more or less only had hate for her. The entire entourage moved towards the Raffle Family Clan in an arrogant manner.

  Reiner, Cynthia and the other higher-ups of the Grandura branch had already arrived at the periphery of their family clan by the time the entourage of the Dark Moon Family Clan reached them.

  “So, what have you decided?” Richard demanded aggressively.

  “Let’s talk about the marriage once Rai comes back from the Ancient Legacy Land alive. We have no intention of seeing Cynthia become a widow at such a young age,” Reiner said calmly.

  “Do you actually think that we will agree to any of your bullshit today? If by chance Rai ends up dead in the Ancient Legacy Land, then she can just marry some other youngster in my family clan,” Richard said in an angry tone.

  If Rai ended up dead, which was actually possible given he was entering a Legacy Land, then they wouldn’t be morally correct in forcing Cynthia into marrying into their family clan – so they couldn’t risk not solemnizing the marriage between Cynthia and Ria before he entered the Ancient Legacy Land.

  There were just too many plus-points for having Cynthia in their family clan, so they wanted to get her at any cost. The fact that she would soon be able to create Life-span increasing pills was just one of the many plus-points. Life Attribute Martial Artists can also deal with all kinds of injuries. They can instantly grow cut-off arms and legs provided they have sufficient insights and understanding in Life Elemental Laws. They can also heal the soul, which makes them extremely precious even in the Divine Universe.

  “That won’t do. If you don’t want to agree to our proposal, then the engagement between Rai and Cynthia is cancelled,” Reiner said while still maintaining his calm tone.

  “I think you are mistaken to think that you can refuse us. You guys are in no position to refuse us,” Jovian said as he and his four companions appeared next to Richard.

  “You are also mistaken to think we can’t refuse you,” Anso said as he appeared next to Reiner.

  The expressions of Jovian and his companions drastically underwent a change when they saw Anso, Rocco and Regulus. They quickly informed the other people that were part of the entourage of the Dark Moon Family Clan about the identities of Anso, Rocco and Regulus, which caused everyone else to have changes in their expressions too.

  Those three were not normal members of the Main branch of the Raffle Family Clan. The Dark Moon Family Clan hadn’t expected any member of the Main branch of the Raffle Family Clan to be on Grandura. They had been expecting a reaction from the Main branch of the Raffle Family Clan, but not that early. That was the reason they’d only given one day’s time to the Grandura branch of the Raffle Family Clan to decide on the marriage between Cynthia and Rai. They’d wanted to give no time to the Main branch of the Raffle Family Clan to react.

  They’d been thinking of using force to get Cynthia to marry into their family clan and after that, even if the Main branch of the Raffle Family Clan wanted to do something, they’d be unable to do anything given the recent backing they’d gained. The members of the Silver Oak Sect might not help them in forcing a little girl to marry against her wishes, as that might truly bring them a bad name. However, they would definitely help them if the Main branch of the Raffle Family Clan were to attack them. This was the plan that the Main branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan had come up with.

  They’d also taken the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan into consideration. They were certain that the family clans wouldn’t go on the offensive over Cynthia, given the current situation of their Main branches, and that their backer would not intervene over such a matter. If by chance their backer were to make a move on the Main branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan, they were certain too, that their Main branch wouldn’t end up like the Calamity Sect’s Main branch given the amount of protection the Silver Oak Sect was providing them. Their plan was nefarious and devious in every possible sense.

  “Lord Anso, it’s been while since I last saw you,” Jovian said with a troubled expression, as he knew now it would be troublesome to attack the Grandura branch of the Raffle Family Clan.

  “Jovian quietly return and we will forget about today’s incident,” Rocco said with smirk.

  “Your family clan is the one in the wrong, not us! You are the ones that are going back on your words!” Sid said.

  “We have already told you guys that if Rai is able to court Cynthia successfully, we have no problem with her marrying into your family clan. How are we in the wrong if your guy is the one lacking the ability to capture the heart of a maiden,” Regulus said as he looked at Rai with his piercing gaze. Rai’s expression immediately turned pale and he felt an extreme crisis for his life. Jovian immediately appeared in front of Rai.

  “Lord Regulus, don’t go overboard,” Jovian said furiously.

  “That brat Ryan is better than him. At least he doesn’t require someone’s assistance when I look at him,” Regulus said with a laugh.

  Rai and the others from the Dark Moon Family Clan clenched their fists when they heard that from Regulus and looked at Regulus with bloodshot eyes.

  “It seems that these bastards have already come to terms with those bastards from the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan. This matter is going to be difficult,” Jovian said to everyone in the entourage from the Dark Moon Family Clan via Mental-message transmission. Everyone couldn’t help but agree with him.

  “So, what should we do?” Rai asked in an angry manner via Mental-message transmission. He was certain that if he left today without marrying Cynthia, he would lose all his face and become a laughing stock on Grandura.

  “How about Rai challenging Ryan for a Death and Life Duel?” someone couldn’t help but ask via Mental-message transmission.

  “That brat is only fifteen years old and has a Cultivation Level of Early Mortal Lord Realm. Do you think the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan would agree to it?” Jovian said in an angry manner via Mental-message transmission.

  “I have a suggestion which might solve our problem. I am sure that you guys will have no problem in agreeing to it,” Anso said with a smile. He immediately attracted the attention of Jovian and company.

  “The Ancient Legacy Land is going to open in a little over two months. Rai and Ryan can compete with each other inside it. The one who gains the most inside the Ancient Legacy Land will marry Cynthia,” Anso said with an indulgent laugh.

  Jovian and the other people from the Dark Moon Family Clan looked at each other with surprised expressions. They could tell that something wasn’t right, as the conditions set by the Raffle Family Clan to allow Rai to marry Cynthia were just too good to be true. Rai’s Cultivation Level was way higher than Ryan’s, so the chances of Ryan gaining more opportunities than Rai were extremely low. Jovian and the others from the Dark Moon Family Cla
n couldn’t help but look at Anso and company suspiciously.

  “Jovian agree to the conditions,” a voice rang in Jovian’s mind. Jovian couldn’t help shiver a little upon hearing that voice.

  “Grand Elder Atik, I have a feeling that this is a trap,” Jovian said in a respectful manner via Mental-message transmission. Atik was one of the ten Martial Artists recently sent by the Main branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan to help Ishan and company. The arrival of Atik and his other nine companions was a well-kept secret of the Grandura branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan and the purpose of their visit was not even known to Jovian and company.

  “If Rai is unable to even deal with the tricks of a Mortal Lord Realm Martial Artist then how will he lead the Grandura branch in the future, so do as I say,” Atik said in an emotionless voice.

  “Yes, Grand Elder Atik,” Jovian said via Mental-message transmission.

  “OK – but don’t you guys dare go back on your word!” Jovian said to Anso and company as he turned around to leave. The others followed suit.

  Rai gave Cynthia an angry glare before turning to leave, but Cynthia just looked at him with an emotionless expression.

  “It’s good that they took the bait,” Anso said with a sigh.

  “You see there is a limit to the thickness to our skins. Now everything will depend on that lover boy of yours. If he loses to Rai then you will really have to marry Rai this time,” Rocco said in a no-nonsense tone.

  “He won’t let me down,” Cynthia said in a determined tone.

  On seeing this Anso and the others could tell that Cynthia had deep feelings for Ryan.

  Cynthia then quickly informed Ryan about the entire sequence of events. Ryan heard her with rapt attention even though he already knew about everything from the Undead creatures in her bead necklace. Ryan and Cynthia talked for some time before ending their conversation.

  Ryan then called Sheldon and informed him about the entire exchange that took place between the Raffle Family Clan and the Dark Moon Family Clan.
