Come Back Around

“I know. It’s fun. Did you two wash your hands?” Mat asked.

“Uh-huh. Daddy, I made a pizza just for you!”

“Did you?” Reid’s voice sounded like sex on a stick.

“Uh-huh. With sausages and mushrooms.” Luce chattered, so Mat slipped away to go to the bathroom. The food had come when he returned, and he had to admit, that pizza smelled like heaven.

Reid was oohing and aahing over the pizzas, and Luce was over the moon, so proud.

“Oh, Sister, it’s pretty!” Dani was very excited about her little personal pizza.

“I did it just for you ’cause I love you.”

  “Thank you!”

“Let me pour you two milk.” Mat got drinks arranged for all, then cut Dani’s pizza into pieces before settling on the bed with Reid.

  “Thank you, Papi,” Reid teased.

“Mmm. We’ll have to share bites.” Both pizzas looked amazing.

“I guess I can share, although mine has a heart.”

“Daddy! Daddy!” Dani’s voice was shrill, sharp, and so happy. “Sister made me a kitty pizza!”

“Wow. She must love you, baby girl.” Reid was pressed against him, solid as a rock.

“I’m gonna be a chef, Daddy,” Lucia said so matter-of-factly, and Mat remembered that certainty.

“Good deal. You can go to culinary school and be famous.”

“I just like to make food.” She grinned. “Chef Geoff is so cool.”

“Is he?” Reid smiled over at him. “Did you tell him thank you for letting you train in his kitchen?”

“I did! I also made his pizza. I washed my hands in between because he’s heathen.”

When Reid raised an eyebrow, he grinned. “Vegan.”

Reid’s lips twisted as he fought the laugh. God, he loved that expression.

Mat stole a bite of sausage, the spice making him hum.

  “Sausage thief,” Reid whispered.

“I am. Want a pepperoni?” He offered one over.

Reid opened his mouth like a baby bird, so Mat popped it in. He heard the girls giggling, and they were whispering and pointing when he glanced over.

“What are you two hooligans giggling over?” Reid waggled his eyebrows, making the little ones laugh even harder.

“I think they’re laughing at us,” Mat said in a stage whisper.

“At us? No….” Reid pressed the back of his hand to his forehead. Drama queen.

“No! Daddy. We were happy.” Lucia pursed her lips.

  “We like happy,” Mat soothed.

“We love happy. Happy and pizza and little girls,” Reid added.

“See?” Dani popped a bite into her mouth.

Reid blinked over at him, and he shrugged. How the hell would he know what those babies were thinking? Reid was the one around them all the time.

Then again, Reid was a dude, like him….

“Eat your pizza, silly boys.” All of the sudden, Luce sounded like she was thirty.

“Yes, ma’am,” Reid murmured, nibbling a bite of crust. With his free hand, Reid stroked Mat’s thigh, petting him.

Lord, that was distracting. The pizza was so good too, but having Reid right there was the best thing ever. He could feel every single inch where Reid touched him.

In fact, he tingled in all those places.

He swore he felt Reid’s fingertips brush his balls.

His breath came in hard, his body on fire. Hello. Madre de Dios.

  “Damn, darlin’.” Reid stunned him.

God, he hadn’t heard that sound in so damn long.

“Soon.” He needed to try to be normal for the girls….

  “You promise? I need you.”

“I swear. As soon as the girls lie down.”

Reid nodded, his tiny moan meant only for Mat. He knew it, and it raised the hair on the back of his neck in the best way.

  “Is it good pizza, Daddy?”

“It is the best pizza ever, baby girl.”

Lucia beamed. “I like it too. Geoff said I could have his crust recipe, but I would need you to help because it has to be very hot to cook.”

“Oh, that’s very nice of him. We’ll have to say a lot of thank-yous, won’t we?” Reid feigned leaning over him to check on Dani in order to feel him up.

“Yes! Tomorrow he says I can help make horsey durves.”

Mat was going to die. He’d forgotten what a tease Reid could be.

  “Hors d’oeuvres? Too cool, Luce.”

“Yep.” She popped a last bite of her pizza into her mouth. “Come on, Dani. Daddy and Papi want to be alone. You can finish in the other house.”

“You two aren’t old enough to be in the other house on your own.”

“Papi!” Lucia pouted. “Can we call Abuela and Pop-Pop?”

“Let me see if they’re busy. They were going to go up to the house….” Dammit. Maybe they could watch a movie with the doors locked.

“Knock, knock!” Of all people, Alejandro poked his head in the door. “Pop said someone needed to see horses?”

Luce did the arms-in-the-air motion, and Dani laughed. “I have two bites left. Can I come too?”

“I can wait a few.” Alejandro winked. “Pop is having pizza, so he sent me to gather up the horse lovers.”

Oh, he owed his brother big-time.

“Hey, you. It’s been a while.” Reid smiled at Alejandro. “Congratulations. You made a great choice.”

“I like to think so.” His brother grinned broadly. “Dani is the champion! You need to go potty at all?”

“We’ll go!” The girls stood and ran together for the bathroom.

“Don’t forget, man, we’re going to head down to Aspen for a few drinks with my buddies tonight. My bachelor days are getting short.”

“Right. Got it.” They definitely needed love now, then.

  “Good deal. You two… rest.”

“We will. Gracias, Hermanito.” They would definitely get some resting done….

  “It’s all good, eh?”

The girls came bouncing out, squealing and jabbering at their favorite uncle.

The door closed behind them, and Mat got up to lock it, and the one to the other side of the cabin. No one needed to walk in right now.

“You… you look like a man who knows what he wants, darlin’.”

“I do?” He stalked Reid, hunting that ass on his way back to the bed. “You were the one copping a feel.”

“I was. You’re so beautiful, darlin’.” God, Mat loved how Reid’s drawl deepened when he needed.

  “I want you.”

“You do, huh?” Reid’s smile lit up the whole room. Damn.

Mat got one knee on the bed. “I do. Right now work for you?”

“God, yes. I… I want you, Matty.” Reid’s eyes were heated, the stare burning at him.

“Excellent.” He slid one hand up Reid’s healthy leg, and it felt so right, the way Reid moaned, how his toes curled. “Be careful with your other foot, querido.”

“I don’t care about my foot. Touch me.”

  Demanding son of a bitch.

He pressed his hand over the bulge in Reid’s pajama pants. “Like that?”

Reid bucked right up into his hand, pushing hard. Those blue eyes went wide and nuclear hot. Gorgeous man.

“Jesus. Skin. Skin, darlin’.” Reid stripped off his T-shirt and let him see. His husband had lost weight, the sweet belly flat now, ridged and ripped, and he reached out to stroke that pretty six-pack. Was that vanity or just hard work? He had to admit, he hoped it wasn’t because Reid was trying the dating game. “Hours and hours of bored and lonely.”

Mat chuckled. “It’s a good look. Not good that we’re lonely….” He stripped off his shirt.

“No.” Reid reached out, tracing his ribs. “You need to eat more, darlin’. Good food.”

“I try.” He forgot, even when he was trying to cut back on work some and get healthier. Sitting down to a meal alone sucked.

“I know.” Reid let his hand float up, and Mat watched that callused hand move on his skin from his ribs up over his pecs to cup the ball of his shoulder. “Jesus, Matty. You’re so fine.”

“Mmm.” He couldn’t wait anymore, so he bent down to kiss Reid again, wanting that voracious need.

One strong hand wrapped around his nape, dragging him close, tongue thrusting in to taste him.

He hummed, his body waking up in places he hadn’t used in a good while. He balanced on one leg, his thigh pressed gently against Reid’s balls.

Reid held on, kissing him until they both came up gasping for air.

They stared at each other, panting hard, and the world seemed to stop for a second, like it was waiting for them, letting them have this. Thank God. Mat dove back in, his body aching, he was so hot.

He heard himself crying out, whimpering softly into the kisses, but he couldn’t stop it. The scent of Reid—Old Spice and Downy and Irish Spring and that constant whisper of clay—liked to drive him out of his mind.

He just. God. He couldn’t believe they were doing this.

“Don’t think. I need you, Matty. Please.”

“I know, baby.” He nipped at Reid’s lower lip, rubbing his leg hard between Reid’s. “I got you.”

“Oh sweet fuck….” Reid arched, riding him like a prize pony, husky sounds pouring from his lover.

Licking where he’d bitten, he rocked, giving Reid all the friction he could. He wanted more, so he reached between them and yanked at the pajama pants, staring kind of stupidly when they wouldn’t budge. Because of his leg.

“Move. Move, darlin’, and get naked. I want your fat prick. Now.” Reid said things like that and it blew his mind.

“Uh, you got lube?” He jumped off the bed, stripping off his clothes before reaching for Reid’s pants.

  “I got conditioner, lotion. I didn’t bring anything because… well, I didn’t think I’d tug off here.”

“Lotion will work as long as it’s not tea tree oil or something.” He wasn’t going to rummage in his bag. He always had lube, but then he rarely had the girls with him.

“Only sensitive skin.” Reid’s grin was pure evil. “Dani’s got a tender butt like her papi.”

“Ha ha.” He shook his head, but he had to laugh. Asshole.

Reid twisted and leaned over the bed, coming up with a bottle of lotion and a green crayon.

“Kinky, baby.” He tossed the crayon away after taking it from Reid. “Still need your pants off. Just hold still.” He didn’t want to jostle that foot.

“Still. I got it.” Reid pushed his pants down and off, revealing a heavy, long cock that was curved up, hard as nails.

“Oh, fuck.” Mat stared, licking his lips. That was so familiar, but all new too. All over again.

“Yes. Every bit of it.” Reid reached down, stroked himself with a few hard tugs.

“Hey, now.” He reached out, slapping Reid’s hand away. “Mine.”

That pretty prick jerked, a single drop of liquid forming at the tip. Fuck, that was gorgeous.

He stroked for a moment, letting Reid have what he wanted. Reid’s skin slid along his palm like silk, soft as anything. Hot as fire. He jerked a few more times, but they would have to go soon. He wouldn’t last, and it wasn’t like they had all afternoon. They needed to get off and get cleaned up before the girls came back.

“Like old times, huh?” Reid said. The man had always had an uncanny ability to read his face.

  “It is. Spread ’em, querido.”

“Bossy old man.” Reid spread his good leg wide.

“I am, and don’t forget it.” He coated his fingers with the lotion. “How… has it been since us?”

“There’s been no one since us, Mateo. You’re my husband.”

He blinked hard. It was the same with Mat. He’d gone to the bars; he’d tried to flirt. It hadn’t even come close to working.

“Matty? If you did, it’s okay. Please.”

“I didn’t. I swear it, baby. You know I would never put you in danger.”

  “I know.”

God. God, those two words. He nodded, muscling back up on the bed between those legs so he could touch. Mat wanted Reid open. He wanted to feel that tight hole, hear the way Reid moaned for him.

So he slicked the entry with one finger, rubbing in circles and teasing a tiny bit. Jesus, Reid was so tight, so ready. He gritted his teeth because rushing it right now would be painful.

“Tell me you want this? Me?” Reid was trying to drive him back.

“Jesus, baby. I need you so bad I can’t breathe. I want you.” Mat pushed one finger inside Reid’s body.

“Mat!” Reid gasped and arched, taking his finger in a single motion, and Mat had to smile. His loud lover had had to learn to keep it down.

  Looked like he’d forgotten.

He figured he could kiss Reid quiet if he needed to. Right now he would let those sounds out and revel in them.

Reid rode his touch like a madman, driving that amazing heat onto him and making the mattress sing. The low hum of Reid’s pleasure matched the rhythm with melody, driving Mat on.

He slipped in another finger, spreading Reid wider, making him feel it. “Open and ready?” he murmured, something he always said to Reid when they were rushing it some.

“Love.” Reid clenched down on him, then relaxed. “Ready.”

“That’s it.” He pulled free to slick up his cock, confident Reid was prepared.

“So pretty.” Reid looked at him like he was magical.

“You make me feel damned amazing, huh?” His cock jumped in his hands, the coolness of the lube shocking on his heated skin.

“I dream about this.” Reid’s whisper was a sweet confession.

“Oh, Reid. I wake up hard dreaming about you too.” This was crazy and they’d been so stupid and—a thousand thoughts raced through him.

“Make love to me. Please.” Reid stroked Mat’s cock, base to tip.

“Uh-huh. Now.” Now was the time. Pressing the tip of his cock to Reid’s hole, Mat caught Reid’s gaze and held it. He slid deep in a long, slow stroke, burying himself.

They groaned together, pure harmony in the sound.

Mat gritted his teeth, holding still a moment for them both to adjust. Then he began to move, in and out, slow and steady. God, this felt like coming home, and when Reid pulled him down into a wild, hungry kiss, he thought he might die happy.

That would keep the man quiet, and Mat could feel every thud of Reid’s heart. Their skin slid together, the connection rough, raw, Reid’s hair rasping at his smoothness.

“Fuzzy man,” he teased against Reid’s mouth.

  “That’s me. You’re burning up.”

“I am. God, you make me crazy.” In more ways than one, but he didn’t need that thought horning in right now. Now was for pushing in and pulling back, for panting and damp skin.

For those dizzying, needy sounds that he’d thought he’d never hear again.

They rocked hard, then even harder, speeding up until they were slamming together.

Reid’s nails dragged over his back, the lines of fire making him gasp.

Dios. Reid hadn’t ever been this aggressive in bed. Mat liked it. A lot.

Reid wrapped his hurt leg around Mat’s hip, bracing the other on the mattress, adding his strength to Mat’s.

“Fuck.” He kissed Reid again to keep himself quiet, because he was about to start shouting.

Reid cried out into his lips, eyes flying wide as he slid in deeper.

Oh, right there. He knew that look. It was imprinted on his soul. He memorized it once again, just in case. Then he dipped his head to kiss that mouth, loving Reid with everything in him.

That tight heat fluttered around him, milked him, and he groaned low in his chest, so close. It was the sting of Reid’s nails digging into his shoulders that made him grunt.

His balls emptied, his cock buried to the root as he shot. Jesus, his head was spinn
ing. He managed to get one hand around Reid’s cock, tugging hard. Come on, he willed. Come on.

Reid groaned, the sound harsh and guttural. Then wet heat spilled over his hand, Reid coming for him.

Oh sweet Jesus. That scent was perfect—musky and rich and right. The feel of Reid’s come was perfect too, silky and hot, coating his fingers.

“Matty….” Reid took another kiss, sweet and slow, loving on him.

“Uh-huh.” The sound was muffled, but he had no idea what else to say.

This didn’t fix anything, didn’t change anything.

It sure felt good, though. Better than the last two years, no doubt about it.

  Chapter Nine

“SO?” Jen stared at Reid from across the bed, his great big boot on her lap.

“So what?” Reid knew exactly what Jen was talking about, but he didn’t know what to say.

“So, kiss and tell.” She waved her hands in the air. Good thing she kept her voice down. The girls were asleep.

He shook his head, not sure what to say. Mateo had seemed to panic, disappearing to “get ready” before the girls had come back. Reid hadn’t even seen Mat leave for the bachelor party.

“Oh, come on. Just give me a gloss-over, then.”

“It was amazing. Completely amazing.” He looked at her, rolling his eyes dramatically. “He’s ruined me for life.”

Jen hooted lightly. “Oh, honey, he’s already done that.”

“Yeah, no shit.” How was he going to survive having another broken heart?

She bit her lip, picking at the Velcro on his boot. “Did you talk at all?”

“No. Nothing more than ‘yes, please’ and ‘don’t stop.’” And half of that was muffled.

“Oh.” Then she grinned. “Well, that’s fun, anyway.”

“Yeah. Yeah, where were the guys going?” He had to admit, there was something a little weird about being the “bridesmaid.”

“Oh, someplace in Aspen for supper, and then one of the guys has a condo by the ski area with a huge hot tub.” She shook her head. “I bet there will be hungoverness.”

“I’ll bet. I’m going to make sure there’s a loud game in the morning.”

“Just do it where I can’t hear. I need my beauty sleep.”

“I’ll keep the girls here.” Reid glared at his foot. “I’m sorry, hon. I know this cramps your plan.”
