  “Which are you?”

“What?” Gemma pulled away from my neck.

  “Yin or Yang?”

“Please. I’m yang. You, my nervous nelly, are yin.”

  “I am not.”

“Do we need to go over all the panic attacks, choking fits, pacing in the room when I’m running late?” She outlined my nipple with her nose.

“Whatever,” I said in a breathy voice.

Her tongue explored my breast but never landed on my nipple, even though it was bursting for attention.

Gemma moved to my right breast but squeezed the left nipple between her thumb and forefinger.

  “Harder,” I pleaded.

  She did.

The simple act set me ablaze.

With a glance, Gemma acknowledged she understood my desire, but a ray of sunlight burst through the window, highlighting a mischievous glimmer in her green eyes as if she was saying, “Wait. It’ll be worth it.”

I knew it would be, and yet I craved her inside me. Was desperate for it, really.

Gemma skated a hand down from my breast to the slight mound of hair and then back up. My hands instinctively tried to guide hers to the hot zone.

She laughed. “Behave. If you can’t, I’ll tie your hands up.”

There was no way she would ever do such a thing. Would she? The thought revved my libido.

  “I dare you,” I countered.

Gemma quirked a determined eyebrow. “You really want me to?”

  “I really do.”

Without a word, she popped up, grabbed two silk scarves from my closet, and tied one hand to the metal bedpost and then the other. She tugged on each to ensure I couldn’t easily escape.

Her plotting wasn’t done, and she wandered over to her desk to retrieve a turkey feather her father had sent in the mail as a formal invitation to Thanksgiving last year. Gemma straddled me; her red bush tickled my belly.

She set to work, tracing random designs on my bare skin with the feather. She ran it over my entire body, even the bottoms of my feet, which was surprisingly sensual. I closed my eyes. Within moments, I was writhing underneath her, but Gemma was enjoying herself too much to rush.

Right when I thought I’d die from anticipation, she tossed the feather to the side to explore my neck, earlobes, breasts, collarbone, and shoulders with her tongue. I ground my pelvis against her, but she ignored my pleas.

This was foreplay kicked into high gear.

“You’re driving me crazy.” I raised my head to see her.

Gemma stared at my pussy. “I know. I like it.”

A spurt of hot juice coated my thigh. “I may come without you.”

“I don’t think you will.” Her tone oozed with confidence. “And if you do, you’ll have to be punished.”

  I was mad with desire.

Gemma flipped around and faced my feet, still straddling my pussy. Leaning all the way over, she licked my thigh and worked down, giving each toe proper attention. Her creamy white ass was right there, and I couldn’t touch it. I wanted to nibble on each cheek and seriously contemplated breaking free from the silk restraints, even if I had to tear the bedpost in two.

Maybe Gemma sensed this. She sat up and regarded me over her shoulder, smiling like a woman in complete control. “You aren’t thinking of breaking free, are you?”

  I slowly shook my head.

“Good girl.” She kept watch of me, while her fingers glided over the top of my slick lips.

Slowly, she parted them. I sucked in a breath.

  “You like?” she asked.

  “Very much.”

  “How much?”

  “Let me show you.”

Gemma crinkled her brow. I was able to motion with a finger that I wanted her to sit on my face.

  “Ah, I see.”

I silently observed as she mulled over the idea. Seriously, what was there to think about?

She grinned at my impatience. Then she inched closer to where I wanted her. I was able to get a taste, but then she pulled away. “How much do you want it?”

  “Fuck, Gemma, I want you.”

  “Convince me.”

  I sighed.

Gemma inserted a finger, and I let out a shudder.

“Words won’t help me right now. I can only show you.”

Gemma smiled and slipped another finger inside me.

“Please.” I closed my eyes. “Please, please, please,” I chanted.

Gemma slowly lowered onto my eager mouth. When she landed, my tongue was ready, and from the wetness that greeted me, I realized how much Gemma had enjoyed torturing me. It was a wonder that neither of us had orgasmed.

My tongue darted inside. Gemma moaned and buried her face in my pussy.

“Fucking hell, Gemma. This is so hot.” I lapped at her clit. She filled my mouth, but I wanted more. Needed more. I doubled my efforts and was rewarded with a deluge of nectar.

Our bodies trembled, yet neither of us slowed down. My legs started to shake. Gemma groaned. I loved how excited she got when making me come. My needs were always of utmost importance.

She took my sex into her mouth and drove her fingers in hard and deep.

I shook all over. It energized me, and I circled Gem’s clit with vigor. I wanted us to come together. I knew I was close, but I tried to hold off. It wasn’t easy with the way she was hammering me down below.

A forceful squirt filled my mouth. It was only a matter of moments for her. Gemma’s legs quivered.

The orgasm hit me hard. Coming at the same time heightened the emotions.

  “Jesus,” I screamed.

Gemma collapsed on top of me.

My body jerked again. “Fuck, we need to fight more. Make-up sex fucking rocks.”

“Who said we’re done?” Gemma licked my sensitive clit, knowing to go slow.

Our thrashing had loosened my constraints, and I slipped both hands out. I placed them on her delectable ass, dug my head into my pillow, and said, “Don’t stop. Please don’t stop.”

  Gemma didn’t.

  It was getting dark out.

I rolled onto my side and lazily ran a finger over Gemma’s breasts. “Where do you want to go for dinner?”

Gemma, eyes closed, pushed her head farther into the pillow. “We don’t have to go anywhere. I’m fine having dinner downstairs.”

  I slapped her taut belly.

Her eyes popped open. “What was that for?”

“We are not dining in the cafeteria on our first date!”

“Easy, princess.” Her happy-go-lucky smile soothed me.

I resumed running a finger over her bare skin. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to overreact. But I want you to know this isn’t a fling. Whether you like it or not, we’re in a relationship.” I tugged her earlobe with my lips.

“If you want to leave the room, you may want to refrain from doing that.”

“Doing what?” I licked her lobe and neck.

“Yes, that. Or we won’t leave bed until Monday.”

The idea was tempting. So very tempting.

I straddled her. “What if I do this?” I rubbed my clit against hers.

“Now you’re talking. Or moving.” Gemma’s eyes closed, and her breathing intensified.

My plan had been to torment her, but shit it was too good to stop. So I didn’t. Soon enough, Gemma pulled a pillow over her head. She was close, as was I.

Gemma came first, and I pulled away.

“No, don’t stop until you come,” she commanded with her head still covered. “Please.”

I nudged the pillow out of the way. “Don’t worry. I’m not a martyr.”

Her eyes widened when she realized my intention. I lowered onto her mouth, and my head flopped back when her tongue slid over my engorged sex.

It didn’t take long at all, but Gemma held me in place, with two firm hands on my thighs, eagerly bringing me to another brink.

A second wave of rapture crashed through my body. I leaned back on two hands
and belted out, “Oh fuck!”

I rolled off, and Gemma cradled me in her arms.

“God, I love you,” I whispered. “The things you make me want to do.”

She nuzzled her nose against my cheek. “I love you, Tegan Raye.”

“Now, tell me. Where can I take you to dinner?”

Gemma laughed. “You’re like a dog with a bone.”

“You still haven’t answered me. We are going on a date tonight. I’ll give you twenty minutes to power nap, and then we’re hitting the showers.”

“I like the sound of that.”

“Separately or we won’t leave. Our relationship is moving out of the confines of this room. Watch out world; here we come!” I spread my arms out wide, embracing the idea.

Gemma shook her head. “Can’t say you aren’t passionate.”

“Passionate and madly in love. Now where would you like to go?”

  “Taco Bell.”

  “Taco Bell?” I shrieked.

Nonplussed, she said, “Yes. You asked, and I answered.” She shrugged.

“We can’t go to Taco Bell on our first date. It’s unheard of.”

“Why can’t we? I’m craving Mexican, and that’s the closest we have in Alfrid. Besides, who says we have to have a fancy meal on our first date? Why can’t we go to Taco Bell? It’s your favorite joint in town, considering all the late night runs we make. What’s the difference really between the Bell and Applebee’s?”

  “I never suggested Applebee’s.”

“There’s not a whole lot in Alfrid.”

I tapped her forehead. “I have a car. We can go to a real city for dinner. We have options.”

“That’s not the option I want,” she teased.

“You aren’t playing fair.” I sighed. “I’ll consider if you promise you aren’t suggesting Taco Bell because I’m paying.”

I could tell by her determined eyes she wouldn’t budge on Taco Bell nor would she flat out lie to me. I had to admire that, even if it drove me bonkers.

“What if we got it to go and drove to the top of Lover’s Rock?” she tossed out.

“Lover’s Rock?” I narrowed my eyes.

“Oh, Signal Rock. Bernie told me that’s the nickname students gave it.”

Hmmmph. I was tired of this Bernie chick, but I pushed that aside. “So it’d be kinda like a picnic.” I was warming to the idea.

“Yes! Isn’t that more romantic, sweetheart?”

“I think I can live with that. Barely.”

She hopped up. “No need for a power nap. Three burrito supremes will give me all the energy I need.”

I groaned. This wasn’t how I imagined our first date.

Gemma noticed. “Come on. Let’s shove aside the romantic notions of our parents and live how we want. Embrace love our way.”

“Well, when you put it that way, I could murder five tacos. I haven’t eaten all week.”

  Chapter Twelve

“What time does the movie start?” Gemma asked and then bit into a burrito.

We sat in my car overlooking the town of Alfrid. Lights speckled the view, but the paltry number was unimpressive, yet I was drawn to the vastness down below. So much open space that hadn’t been conquered.

“There’s one at seven and the second showing at quarter to ten.” I crunched into a taco. Little scraps of meat and cheese fell onto the wrapper in my lap. “You know, this is better than I thought.” Aside from the Taco Bell stink, which was like no other smell on the planet, but I kept that too myself.

“I told you.” Gemma added hot sauce to her third burrito. She motioned to the bag. “Don’t forget your Mexican pizza.”

“Not that, you goof. This. Sitting here with you.”

“You approve then. An hour ago, that wasn’t the case.” She nudged my arm with an elbow.

My beat-up Honda Accord was a hand-me-down from my mother. It was more than half my age, but it still ran well. At the moment, the powerful heater was my favorite feature.

“I’m tired of winter.” I wiped off the fog on my side of the windshield and side window with the sleeve of my Carhartt.

“Do you know why kids come here?”

“To Lover’s Rock?” I attempted to sound sexy.

From the gleam in Gemma’s eyes, I’d succeeded.

  “Yes.”

“Bernie’s name is pretty much self-explanatory,” I said.

“I think I’m missing the point entirely.” Gemma balled up the empty burrito wrapper and tossed it into the white paper bag at her feet.

I finished chewing the last bit of my third taco and washed it down with Dr. Pepper. “Do I need to explain it to you?”

She nodded. “But I’m a visual learner.”

“What about hands-on?” I ran a finger down her cheek.

  “Even better.”

I leaned over and kissed her. It didn’t take long for us to shed our jackets so we could really get it on.

“Is this helping you understand?” I whispered into her ear.

“Oh, yes. But just in case, don’t stop.”

“I have no intention of stopping. We’re the only ones crazy enough to be up here this time of year.”

I slid my hand under Gemma’s shirt and cupped her breast. Not satisfied, I wiggled underneath her bra and squeezed a nipple. She let out a satisfied gasp. Emboldened, I unzipped her jeans. Gemma nodded and reached down to grab the lever to lower her seat. My hand slipped under the hem of her panties.

“You’re so wet.” I pumped my hand some more. “I want to taste you.”

Gemma lifted up, and I lowered her jeans and panties enough.

She clasped onto my head with both hands. When I took her swollen sex into my mouth, she moaned. The center console provided a tricky obstacle, but my desire aided my upper body to contort in ways I didn’t know it could.

I peeked at her. I loved how her expression screwed up when in sexual bliss.

It was getting extremely warm in the car, and the windows were completely fogged.

  “I’m about to…”

A tapping on my window made me jump three inches, and I hit my knees on the steering wheel as I popped up from her crotch.

Gemma grabbed her coat and tossed it onto her lap. Her seat bolted upright, forcing her to sit ramrod straight.

I turned to the window, swiped the condensation with my arms, and saw a police officer with a flashlight. He motioned for me to roll down the window.

I had to resist the urge to slam my right foot on the gas pedal. Instead, I clutched the knob and rolled down my window halfway.

“Good evening,” the male police officer said.

  “Hi,” I yelped out.

The man leaned to the side and flashed the light into Gemma’s face. “What the…?”

“Is something wrong, Officer?” Gemma asked in a serene voice.

The cop shouted over his shoulder, “It’s two girls.”

A second cop approached and asked, “Are you okay?”

  The voice was feminine.

“Uh, yes, we were talking,” I said as sincerely as possible.

“It’s pretty cold out for sitting in your car and talking.” The male cop rubbed his chin, trying to process what he’d seen. His eyes noted Gemma’s jacket. Did they spy the sliver of skin showing?

The female officer pinned me with a sympathetic stare as if she was trying to communicate with me telepathically. “Which one?” she asked.

“Which one…?” I hoped she’d fill in the blank.

  “Who’s nursing a broken heart?”

Oh. Now I understood the game. “I a-am,” I intentionally butchered the response and grabbed a napkin to dab my dry eyes.

“If you ask me, he’s not worth it, sugar,” she said.

The male cop scrutinized me and then his partner, shaking his head. “What are you two talking about?”

My rescuer ignored him. “You’ll have to forgive my partner. A confirmed bachelor with no sisters. He doesn’t understand
women.” She winked at me. “Go on home and talk there, okay?”

  “Of course. I’m sorry.”

“Why are you letting them go?” The man put his hand on the side mirror as if he was going to stop the car. “I’m not buying they were only talking. Check out all the condensation. The residents are tired of kids coming up here...” He paused and studied us again, and I was fairly certain he couldn’t figure out what we were doing. I covered my wet chin with my palm. “And they’re in a tow-away zone,” he added.

“Come on, Warren. She’s had a hard enough night.”

  “What do you mean?”

She whispered in his ear, loud enough for me to hear. “She got dumped by her boyfriend, and she’s in the family way,” she added for good measure. Or I hoped she did. Did I look pregnant? Taco Bell gut.

Officer Warren stepped back and mouthed, “Oh.” Without saying another word, he marched back to his patrol car.

The female cop, whose name tag read Rodriguez, leaned down and poked her head through the small opening of the window. “Be careful. Next time I may not be here to save your asses.” She motioned to Gemma’s lap. “Zip up.” She smiled more to herself and shook her head. “Sometimes I miss college.”

After she retreated to the patrol car, I put the car into drive and pulled out overzealously. The car fishtailed on the frozen pavement.

“Easy, Tegan. Don’t get a ticket now.”

I eased off the gas pedal.

My hand shook on the gearshift. Gemma placed hers on top and gave it a squeeze.

“That could have been bad,” I said.

Seven minutes later, we were in the parking lot of the movie theater. Neither of us had said a word since the Signal Rock bust.

Gemma contemplated me with a furrowed brow. “You okay?”

  I started to shake.

Gemma rubbed my back. “It’s okay, Teeg. Nothing happened.”

“Nothing happened!” Snot flew from my nose. “I can’t believe it.” I covered my eyes and leaned over the steering wheel. Now my body was nearly convulsing.

  “Don’t cry. Please don’t cry.”

I leaned back into the driver’s seat. “I’m not crying.”

Gemma adjusted in the car seat to see my face. “You’re laughing?”

“Of course I’m laughing. Can you believe it? Officer Warren knocking on the window while I was going down on you.” I blotted my eyes with a Taco Bell napkin that reeked of burrito supreme. “And you. I couldn’t believe you. With your pants down and calm as a cucumber asking, ‘Is something wrong, Officer?’ How were you so calm?”
