“My greedy fuckin’ girl wantin’ to come again. Do it darlin’, come.”
He drops my arms and I wrap them around his neck, shamelessly grinding myself on him, finally feeling my release as he stands there, holding me between the wall and his body and watches. His eyes on mine as I shake like a fucking leaf on him, whimpering, as my forehead drops down to his shoulder, my body exhausted.
“Oh Normani, you are some kinda woman.”
I laugh as he carries us back to the bed, slipping out of me and laying me down.
“Good thing you're marryin’ me then, huh?” I say drowsily.
I don't hear Devin’s response because my eyes close and sleep takes me.
-----
I wake up feeling a cold tongue against my arm. I move it, rolling to my side, feeling the cold tongue now on my back. I roll back and jump when I see Devin holding a baby pig.
“Peppa wants to say hey,” Devin says smirking.
“My gosh what a little cutie. Let me guess, Avery named her?” I ask reaching for the small little pile of pink, pulling the sheet higher over my bare breasts.
Devin nods and sits down in bed next to me.
“Correct. Rescued her and her mama. Local firefighters found them in a ditch out on some old abandoned farm.”
“Oh no, how sad. Poor little Peppa.”
“You ready to ride? It's gonna get dark soon.”
“Dev, I was serious. I don’t ride.”
“I would like to vouch and say you do.”
He smirks and I shake my head.
“Why didn't you wake me? What time is it?”
“You've only been sleepin’ for a little. Got some stuff done down in the barn, no worries.”
“I'll come and help, but no ridin’.”
“Eventually you will darlin’. Can't be marryin’ a cowboy if ya don't even know how to ride yourself.”
I look at him expecting to see humor, but I don't see a smile. I open my mouth to say something but Peppa squeals in my arms.
“She’s hungry. Let's head down.”
I hand Peppa back to Devin and get dressed, following him down to the barn.
He puts Peppa in the pen with her mother and grabs my hand walking out towards the back.
“Gotta make it official. Everyone's askin’ me where the ring is,” he says.
I furrow my brow confused and he turns around opening a small box, getting down on one knee.
“Devin!” I snap, “Get up! This ain't real. Don't go on and get down on one knee like that, it's bad luck!”
I reach for him and pull him to his feet as he laughs.
“Alright, alright.”
He takes the ring out of the box, slipping it on my finger and I gasp. It's an elegant, solitaire setting with a row of small diamonds on the band and when Devin finally has it in place, something happens to my chest. I feel the tension that was there starting to slip, the black soul I always needed to have to survive, now starting to transform, one color at a time. Knowing this is all fake though brings some of that tension back.
“I hope you'll get your money back for this. It probably cost more than my yearly salary, and I make a decent amount.”
“Don't worry about that,” he says kissing my lips. “Looks good on you darlin’. Let's go. Gotta teach my woman how to run a farm.”
He bends down lifting me off my feet and throwing me over his shoulder. I laugh, the happiness that surrounds this man invading my body, taking a hold on my heart that can never be undone, even if it’s not real.
-----
“Mornin’ darlin,” I hear Devin say from next to me. “Rise and shine. I got a workout in a little bit, just wanted to eat breakfast.”
His breath is hot on my ear and his morning wood pressed against my belly. What a way to wake up.
“Mmm, I always need a good breakfast before I start the day. Sausage for example,” I say reaching down and grabbing his length.
“Normani…”
“Devin…”
“You're probably sore from yesterday, I shouldn't have been so rough with you.”
“Devin, my gosh, stop it! Just shut up and roll over here and give me breakfast.”
He laughs and shakes his head.
“I gotta get my workout in early today because then we have that radio appearance this afternoon.”
“You suck, ya know that? No actually, I take it back. You don't suck, that's our problem,” I say grabbing my naked breasts in my hands.
“Normani, don't start…”
“Get out and let me change then. You don't get to ogle me naked if you ain't gonna do anything about it,” I snap.
“We will, I just wanna make sure you're okay.”
“Such a gentleman,” I say shutting the door in his face.
Now that he's awoken this wanton woman inside me, he's gotta go and take five steps back. Yesterday was amazing, it's what I wanted from him, no control, no holding back. Just a man, desperately wanting a woman to the point where his brain shuts off and his desire guides them. He’ll break again, it's only a matter of time.
I walk into my closet and find my tight Daisy Duke shorts I rarely wear and an equally as tight t shirt. It's just a plain v neck but the v is the best part. I slip on my bra then step into my thong but change my mind at the last minute. You started this Devin Gavinwood, now time to finish.
Chapter 14
Devin
“I can't believe I let you talk me into this,” Normani complains from next to me.
She puts her headphones around her neck, and I roll my chair over to her, putting a hand behind her head and pulling her close to me. Our lips come together effortlessly, and I put a hand on her thigh squeezing it.
She relaxes under my kiss, moaning softly into my mouth. Her hand slides up my thigh as she slips her tongue in my mouth, leaning closer to me.
“Knew you two would be perfect for our Wifed-Up Baseball Edition,” says a voice causing Normani to jump away from me.
Amy Edison comes in the room, the host of the radio show that contacted my agent for a segment on mine and Normani's engagement.
“Amy, nice to meet you too,” I say smiling.
She extends her hand out to the both of us and we shake it, sitting back down in front of our respective microphones.
I glance over at Normani and her cheeks are the most adorable shade of pink.
“We got this darlin’. She didn't come in and see my face buried between your legs, don’t stress.”
“Yeah, I wish,” she grumbles.
“Normani Jameson, you gettin’ sexy sassy with me?”
“You're such a bad influence on me,” she says smirking.
I eye her again and groan when she bends forward, showing me the skin of her luscious tits, right there for my taking.
I was too rough with her yesterday, I watched her struggle to sit through dinner last night and she moved slower throughout the day, taking cautious steps and I felt like an asshole. I know she's strong but she's new to this and I'm a big guy. She needs ease, not an animal.
“We’re starting in five,” a man calls from the hallway.
Normani and I put our headphones on and move our chairs closer to the microphones, watching as Amy presses buttons on the control panel.
“Five, four…” the guy outside holds up three fingers, then two, then one.
“Hello everyone and welcome back to the Amy Edison show. Today I have a special treat for you that you won't want to miss. Kicking off our Wifed-Up Baseball Edition segment is none other than Mr. Smooth Talker, Southern Charm, Devin Gavinwood and his lovely fiance Normani Jameson.”
“Hellooooo listeners,” I say.
“Hi everyone,” Normani says quietly.
“So, I guess we'll start out with the most obvious question, how did you two meet?”
“Wanna take that one darlin’?” I ask looking to Normani putting a hand on the small of her back.
“Sure, okay. I actually work for Double Play Physical Therapy so I
m very close with his family. We met at his mama’s 40th birthday party. He was...playin’ with his little sister and cousins and...I...I was so distracted watchin’ him play with them, I wasn't payin’ attention. He got up from the floor and knocked right into me, and caught me right before I hit the ground,” she says smiling shyly.
“What did you do? MLB's most eligible bachelor and he catches you!”
Normani laughs.
“I wasn't lookin’ at him that way. To me he was just Bella's handsome brother.”
“Handsome huh?” I smirk.
“Don't do it, caveman. Your head is big enough,” Normani says quietly.
“Oh, you know it is darlin’,” I say my voice rough.
“Okay, someone just turned on the heat in here!” Amy laughs.
Normani shakes her head and slaps my chest.
“Stop it!” She hisses.
“Sorry Amy. Can't help it around this woman, she makes me crazy.”
“So how he'd propose?”
“I'll take this one darlin’,” I say kissing her cheek. “Amy, funny thing about love is, you find it when you least expect it, but when you do you need to hold onto it and never let it go. Not too tight though, it needs to breathe, but tight enough where it knows that no matter what happens, no matter where life takes us, love is comin’ too. I felt that the first time I laid eyes on this woman. I dropped to my knees in the barn of our farmhouse, twice that day, right darlin’?” I smirk at Normani.
“Devin John!” Normani chastises.
“Oh yeah, we’re in need of a quick break. These two need a supply closet. We’ll be back “
All three of us take off our headphones and Amy starts to laugh.
“I think I need a supply closet, God damn you two.”
I laugh and Normani turns redder shaking her head.
“Come on darlin’, let's take a quick walk. How long do we have?”
“Three minutes,” Amy says smirking.
I nod and take Normani's hand pulling her out of the room and down the hall to a corner alcove.
“Am I embarassin’ you? I'll stop, I'm just messin’ around.”
“No but it's annoyin’ me. You're a fraud. Talkin’ all about your big head and droppin’ to your knees, when you turned me down this mornin’,” she says poking my chest.
“I didn't turn you down, I just wanna do it slower. More makin’ love rather than fuckin’ for a little while.”
“I see. You give me candy then take it back.”
“That's not-”
“Listen, my patients might listen to this. We have ball players that come in too. I don't want them to think I just hop into the sack with the first ball player I meet. When this engagement is over...we're still together, right?”
“Of course we are,” I say grabbing her cheeks.
“One minute,” says a voice from down the hall.
“Then how do we explain that to people. We were engaged, but now we're not, but we're still together?”
“You let me figure that one out darlin’. Come on.”
I take her hand and we walk back towards the room feeling her stiffen.
“I ain’t tryna make you uncomfortable, I was just messin’ around,” I say.
“It's fine Dev, I’m sure the listeners love their Mr. Smooth Talker rilin’ his woman up. Just do me one favor,” she says pulling on my arm.
We stop walking and she runs her fingers through my hair pulling me down, her lips against my ear.
“Don't tell people how great I am at suckin’ your cock. Keep that as our secret, okay?” she smirks, grabbing me through the front if my jeans.
I groan as she untangles her fingers from my hair and walks through the door before me.
I take a breath and jog to catch up to her wrapping an arm around her shoulders pulling her close, laughing, a whole-hearted laugh.
“I guess I deserve that one, huh?”
“You think?” she sasses.
Amy smiles and puts her headphones on, eying us as we do the same.
“And we're back with our special guests Devin Gavinwood and his fiancé Normani Jameson. So, I know everyone is dying to ask, when is the big day?”
Normani looks at me, her eyes wide.
“Still decidin’ on that one. For now, we're livin’ together and we're enjoyin’ bein’ engaged,” I say smoothly.
“Have you started dress shopping Normani? Found a designer you like?”
“Not yet, no. I'm sure when I do, I will bring along Bella because her dress was absolutely stunnin’.”
“I agree. Gorgeous. You guys have some insane genes. I mean your father, Gabriel Gavinwood, whew I crushed on him so hard when I was younger.”
Devin laughs and shakes his head.
“Apparently a lot of people did. Sorry everyone, he is happily married to my mama and you're lucky if you get him to glance anywhere except in her direction. I'm the same way, always watchin’ out for my woman, always by her side.”
I make that little part known in case her father or his men are listening. This interview was after all, about our situation. Making the public aware of who she is, that I have her back. Even when I'm not around, other people will know her if something were to go wrong.
‘We have a couple callers with questions. Tina you're on with Devin and Normani. What's your question?”
“How are you guys gonna make it work when Devin travels so much with baseball?”
I look to Normani and she nods. We've practiced this question a lot, wanting her father to know that even when I'm traveling, she'll be looked after.
“That's a great question. We rely on technology a lot. Texting, calling, video chatting. I plan on takin’ some vacation days here and there and meet him in some cities for a night or two. I also plan to stay with family while he's away, filling in those lonely nights. If you want somethin’ bad enough you always find a way to make it work.”
I smile at her, picturing us doing all that this season. She added in the traveling part on her own, we never discussed that. Come to think of it, she added in that last line on her own too. Does she really mean what she’s saying, or is it only for the public persona? Playing along with the fake engagement, being a good fiance?
“Great, thanks Tina! We’re gonna go to Bren. Hey, what's your question for Devin and Normani?”
“This question is for Devin. Not to put you on the spot, but you've dated a lot of women. How did you know Normani was the one?”
Normani sits next to me crossing her arms over her chest, eyeing me.
“Yeah, cowboy. How'd you know I was the one?”
“Uh oh,” Amy says eyeing us with a smile. “This is gettin’ good!”
“Easiest question all day,” I say confidently. “As soon as I looked into those gorgeous green eyes my brain wiped any other before you right out. You're the only one I saw darlin’, the only one I wanted to see, every day and every night. I knew you were the one because no one else even came close, they were already forgotten.”
Normani studies me for a second, a small curve of her lips forming into a smile.
“Good answer, cowboy,” Normani says quietly.
Her smirk turns into one of her rare, ear to ear smiles. I need to put that kind of smile on her face more often. It lights up the room and it's so damned contagious, gorgeous, breathtaking.
“Okay, last question of the day, then we'll wrap it all up. Roy you're on. What's your question?”
“Hey, any advice on how to keep the spark alive?”
“You wanna take this one darlin’?” I ask.
“Well,” Normani starts eyeing me with a smirk. “I'd say communication. Make sure you and your partner tell each other exactly what you want, when you want it and how.” I groan next to her, our gazes never breaking. “Eye contact goes a long way too, never breakin’ it, no matter how bad you want to.” Normani's voice is getting breathy.
“What else darlin’?” I rasp.
“Countin’ helps,” sh
e smirks. “Givin’ your partner a time limit. If they don't get whatever they need to get done within say...five seconds, helpin’ your partner out with that is a big turn on.”
“Darlin’...” I say warningly.
