“Please,” she begged. “No more teasing.” He wasn’t about to say no. He positioned himself over her and thrust in slowly. She threw her head back in agonized ecstasy. He increased his speed, spurred on by her enthusiastic reactions. She threw her hands on his back and raked her nails down his skin. He moaned as he quickened his pace. They rocked together in perfect harmony, a glistening meeting of pulsing desires.
“I’m close!” she cried out. He didn’t stop his movements. She writhed beneath him, desperately pushing her fingers into his back with unrestrained passion. “Please! More!” In a few short moments, they were calling out together in combined pleasure. She muffled her own cry by burying her head into the nearby pillow. He struck the bundle of nerves that she needed and reached his own release. They collapsed on one another in exhausted gratification.
They laid together, arms wrapped around one another, for a long time in the perfect stillness. He enjoyed listening to the rise and fall of her chest, the soft breathing that tickled as her face buried in his chest. He ran his hands through her hair and caressed the soft muscles of her back. She shuddered pleasantly beneath his touch. Soon, her lips had traveled up his chest and neck to find his kiss again. They began their dance again and again into the early morning hours, unwilling to part from one another until they fell into a deep slumber.
It was only Karla’s alarm that woke them. She flew out of bed, muttering, “Charlie and Bella need me!”
“I’ll take care of them,” he said with a steady voice. “Go shower and get ready.”
She bit her lip, holding her crumpled clothes from yesterday to her chest. “Are you sure?”
“It’s a bit irresponsible for me not to take responsibility for my actions in last night,” he said with a smirk. “Besides, I can move much faster than you.” And he could! He was under the shower and into a fresh suit in under five minutes. She marveled as he sauntered out of the room.
Downstairs, he gathered Charlie, who had begun to cry just as he walked in. There would be a diaper to change. Bella popped in, dressed in a nightgown.
“You’re getting us ready?” she asked in excitement. How long had it been since he’d done this? Probably since Elizabeth had passed. His daughter beamed up at him.
“Ginger should have breakfast ready,” he told her with a smile. She nodded and headed down the hall to the dining room. When he’d prepared Charlie, he walked into the dining room, and Ginger smiled with a knowing wink.
“I’ll take young Charlie to his high chair,” she cooed and scooped up the infant. “Your coffee awaits you!”
He smiled and thanked her. He saw that she’d also set a place for Karla as well. The young woman joined them after a few minutes, tucking wet hair behind her fresh face with an embarrassed look. Bella was oblivious to anything as she babbled on about her lessons for the day. Karla helped Charlie eat his breakfast and took her coffee with a grateful smile. He watched as the family came alive around the table, laughing and joking. He’d not had a moment like this in quite some time.
Karla caught his eye and smiled. He returned the look, knowing that things were going to be different for the future.
He was truly happy.
This was home.
This would be his new life.
