“Don’t worry. I’m going to get you out Dean. I promise.” I said as I started to look for an opening to the tank.

I ran my fingers across the edges. That’s when I noticed the sealer. The captain must have melted the door so there was no way to escape. I started to look around for an object to break the tank open. There was a golf club sitting next to a dresser. I ran over and grabbed it.

“I’m gonna get you out Dean” I said.

I swung the golf club as hard as I could at the glass tank. The golf club shattered to pieces.

“Oh, you have got to be kidding me!” I screamed.

The water was covering Dean’s mouth now. Soon he wouldn’t be able to breath. I saw a chainsaw on the other side of the room. I grabbed that and turned it on. I started to dig it into the side of the tank and sparks started to fly. The chainsaw burned up and the glass tank looked like it hadn’t been touched at all. The water was now covering Dean’s eyes. I started to cry knowing that he was hopeless in there. He couldn’t do anything. I was desperate to get him out of the tank. I stood up and started to run towards the tank. I sprung off the ground and threw my fist into the glass tank. Cracks started to appear in the tank. It started to travel down the sides of the tank. Then the tank Shattered into pieces and the water splashed into the ground.

Dean fell to the ground with his eyes closed. He wasn’t moving. I ran over to him and untied the cloth that was tied around his mouth. Then I removed the chains. I pulled Dean up and embraced him in my arms.

“Please don’t leave me. I can’t lose you.” I told him.

He still wasn’t breathing or moving. I started to cry harder.

“Dean…. Please come back! I need you!” I screamed.

I became angry. I slapped him in the face and he still didn’t move. I put my hands over his body and a burst of energy shot out of my palms. Dean’s chest lit up as the energy entered.

“Come on Dean, you can’t leave me!” I said.

The energy leaving was making my body weaker but I kept going. Finally my body collapsed. I was laying next to him on the ground. He still wasn’t moving. I started to cry again. I scooted closer to him and put my head on top of him and held him in my arms. Then I closed my eyes.

  “Astra?” a soft voice said.

I shot up and looked at Dean. He was looking at me. I tear fell down my cheek and a smile appeared on my face. I threw myself on top of him and hugged him as tight as I could.

“I thought I lost you. Don’t you ever do that again!” I told him as I hit him in the shoulder.

I started to lift myself off of Dean but he grabbed my face and gently pulled it towards his. Our lips touched, embracing one another. Dean’s lips were hard, but soft; fiery but cool. It was a kiss that lasted a split second but also forever. Dean had engulfed me, I found myself wrapped up in him, body, heart and soul. Dean pulled away and gazed into my eyes.

“Astra, I’m in love with you. I always have been, but you need to figure out what you want. You can’t have both of us.”

I knew he was implying to Dillan.

"But for tonight, you're mine" He says as he kisses me again.

I got up and walked out towards the Ferris wheel. Everything was destroyed. All of the people had gone home. I felt like I was going to burst into tears. This was not the time for me to be in a relationship. Not until everything had settled down and Earth was safe.

I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I turned and saw Dean next to me, he looked exhausted. I wrapped my arm around him to give him support as we walked back into the streets. I saw a bench a couple yards away from us. We walked over to it and I helped Dean sit down.

I kept staring off into the distance. I couldn’t get myself to look at Dean. Dean reached over and touched my hand. I looked down at his hand as he moved it up to my face. I looked him in the eyes and he smiled.

“It’s okay Astra, you don’t have to decide now. I will always be here for you, no matter who you choose. I will wait patiently until you are mine.” He whispered.

Dean put his hand out towards mine.

  “Friends?” he asked.

I smiled and put my hand into his.

  “Friends.” I responded.

“Well, I guess we will go back to the hotel, grab our stuff and get out of here.” Ryan said as he lifted himself up off the bench.

He looked a lot stronger. I started to walk next to him as we headed back to the hotel.

  Captains Order

We arrived in town early the next morning. The streets were empty and all we could hear were the birds in the trees. We turned down the neighborhood that Shane lived on. As we approached Shane’s house Dean started to walk towards the back of the house. He picked up a rock off of the ground and threw it at Shane’s window, I heard a loud shatter and ran to the side of the house. Once I reached Ryan, I looked up at the house. Dean had shattered the window.

“Dude!” Shane said as he ran to the window. “You broke my window!”

Dean grabbed his hair with his hands.

  “Sorry man.” He responded.

“Why are you here?” Shane asked.

Dean reached into his bag and pulled out the gun to show him. Shane grinned and walked away from the window. Dean started to head back to the front of the house. Shane came out the front door and Dean handed him the gun.

“Fascinating.” Shane said as he observed the gun. “Meet me on the island at noon.”

We nodded our heads in agreement and left. I started to walk on the beach and thought about Dillan then I thought about Dean. I hadn’t been here that long and I already had two guys I was falling in love with. And I don’t have much time to figure out who I wanted to be with.

As I approached the house mother came running out and wrapped her arms around me. It was a hug I had missed for a while. Her hair was a mess. You could tell she had just woken up.

“I heard you coming down the beach.” She said.

  “How was D.C.?”

“It went okay, we found out how they captain and the black shadow have been controlling people.” I responded.

“And they tried to kill us, but we made it out alive.” I added on.

Mothers face turned blue, I probably shouldn’t have told her about the almost being killed part. We started to walk into the house. Mother walked into the kitchen to fix me up some breakfast.

“I’m just glad you are safe.” Mother said.

  “Yeah, me too.” I said.

I sat down on a stool and started to play with some silverware. Mother turned and looked at me.

“So what does the gun do?” mother asked.

I shrugged my shoulders. “We think it controls people’s minds. Shane’s going to look at it and find out for us.”

Mother put a plate of pancakes and eggs in front of me.

“So what are you guys going to do about it?” she asked.

I shrugged my shoulders again. I had no idea what we were going to do, or how we were going to save Earth. Everything felt like it came full speed ahead all at once. Mother walked over and kissed my forehead.

“You guys will figure it out.” She whispered in my ear.

Mother went back into her bedroom and closed her door. I stared at my food. I really was hoping mother was right. That Shane, Dean, and I would be able to fix everything.

I picked up my fork and started to dig into the pancakes. My mouth started to water as I brought it up to my mouth. They were warm, soft, and very sweet. After I ate I looked at the time. It was nine o’clock. I figured I could take a nap before I would have to head out to the island. I entered my room and saw a bouquet of flowers on my bed. How could someone get into my bedroom? I walked over to the flowers and picked them up. A card fell to the floor. I reached over and picked it up.

Astra, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Meet me on the beach tonight.

  - Dillan

I collapsed on the bed. All of my feelings for Dillan came to the surface pushing De
an to the back of my mind. Dillan was the sweetest guy ever and he went out of his way to meet me when I first arrived here in this town. I grabbed a cup and filled it with water then put the flowers in the cup.

I laid on my bed and stared at the flowers. I couldn’t stop smiling. My eyes started to get heavy and I fell asleep.

I felt his arm around me as he pulled me in close. My body pressed against his. I opened my eyes and looked at him.

“Did you have a good nap?” he said smiling at me.

“Only when I’m with you!” I replied as I put my arms around him.

He moved a strand of my hair from my face.

“You’re beautiful Star.” He said as he leaned in to kiss me.

A tingle started to travel up my spine. I pressed my lips against his. He reached his hand around me and pulled me on top of him. I started to dig my hands into his soft, brown hair. Our tender kisses began to turn into heavy kissing.

  ‘Beep Beep’

I opened my eyes and looked around. I was all alone. I must have dreamt about him. It felt so real. The dream only managed to make me even more confused. I got up and got ready to head to the island. Shane was planning on telling us what the gun does and how it works.

I walked out of my bedroom and looked at mothers room, she had already gone too work. I went into the kitchen and looked around. There were some pancakes sitting on the counter still. I grabbed one and walked out the door. That’s when I saw Cali sitting on a rock right outside.

  “Hey you!” she yelled.

I waved and began to walk towards her.

“So.. you ever coming back to work?” she asked.

“Yeah, I just had to disappear this week to..” I couldn’t tell her what I was really doing. “… see my cousin in D.C.”

“Gotcha Girlfriend! Well, I’m glad you’re back cause I got some major drama talking to do!” She said as she jumped off of the rock.

“I’ll be at work Monday morning, I promise.” I told her as I started to walk towards the beach with her.

“Alright, well I’ll catch ya later Astra!” Cali said as she started to walk back to the town.

“Bye!” I responded as I waited for her to be far enough so I could run the opposite direction.

I reached the trees and looked for the rock on the ground. I pushed it with my foot and the water began to part. I began to walk into the tunnel, up the staircase, and in the room.

Shane was already there with the gun sitting on a table right in front of him.

“Hey Shane!” I said as I walked towards the couch to sit down.

“Wow, you beat Dean! That’s a first!” he responded.

I rolled my eyes and turned the T.V. on. I began to flip through the channels but nothing good was on. I turned the T.V. off and stared at Shane as he did his nerd stuff.

“Why are you looking at me?” he said while looking at the computer screen.

“Because there is nothing else to look at” I told him.

“Well, you’re creeping me out. Stop!” He responded.

“Ya, I guess you could stare at my irresistibly good looks if you have to.” Dean said as he walked into the room.

I looked at him and he winked back at me.

“So what do we got Shane?”Dean asked as he walked towards him.

I got off the couch and walked over towards the guys. Shane pulled up the microchip on his computer.

“So this microchip is similar to something that gets your computers and cell phones to run. Except, these microchips have one controlling source, which I presume is in the headquarters where you guys found the gun.”

“Alright, well.. how can you tell?” I asked.

“Well when I zoom in and take a closer look you can see the device start to send signals, all of the microchips in this gun do the exact same thing. I’ve hooked it up to my computer so we will be able to hear the commands of the Captain and Black Shadow at all times.” Shane said.

He reached over and flipped a switch that activated the microchip. Words began to appear on the computer screen.

‘Company, we attack Roseley City at dawn’

“Well, this should come in handy! Great work Shane boy!” Dean said as he patted him on the back.

“You did a really good job Shane.” I said smiling at him.

“Tomorrow we fight! Until then, make it a great day!” Dean said as he left.

“I’ll see you in the morning Shane.” I told him as I started to leave as well.

I headed down the beach and watched the sun begin to set. I saw Dillan walking towards me. I smiled and began to run towards him. He opened his arms and I jumped into them wrapping my legs around him and holding him tightly.

“Goodness I’ve missed you.” He said holding me.

“I’ve missed you too.” I whispered.

I unwrapped my legs and he put me back on the ground. He reached out and ran his fingers down my arm intertwining his hand with mine.

“Are you ready for tonight?” Dillan asked.

“Yes! Oh! Thank you for my flowers. How did you get into my room?” I asked.

“Ha Ha, well I knocked on your door and your mother let me in. I felt like things were really weird between us last time I saw you.” He said.

I knew exactly what he was talking about. He was so close to finding out who I was. Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if he did know.

“Yeah, I’m really sorry about that. It was my fault.” I told him as I looked down and started to shuffle my feet in embarrassment.

“Nah, it’s okay. It’s all in the past and tonight I just want us to be where we used to be.” He told me.

We approached a blanket that was laying on the beach, it had a picnic basket and a couple of pillows on top of it. Dillan began to sit down and I did the same thing.

“Alright, so I never really got to take you out to dinner last time because, well, we know the story.” He said while laughing.

I began to laugh with him.

Dillan reached into the picnic basket and pulled out a pizza box and a bottle of sparkling cider.

“I sure hope you like pizza.” Dillan said as his opened the box.

“Cheese pizza! My absolute favorite. Good job Dillan.” I said laughing my head off.

Dillan always made me laugh. Everything with him was so much fun! He opened the bottle of Sparkling Cider and poured it into two plastic cups. He then handed me a cup and a slice of pizza on a plate.

“Dig in!” he said as he started to take a bite of his pizza.

We looked out at the Ocean while eating our dinner. It was one of the cheesiest dates ever but that’s what made it so special.

Dillan reaching into the pizza box and then gasped. I looked at him startled.

  “What? What happened?” I asked.

“We ate the entire pizza!” He said laughing.

“No way!” I said as I reached over to look in the pizza box.

He was right. There were no slices of pizza left. I started to count how many slices I had on my fingers. I could remember five.

“Five! I ate five! So that means you ate..”

“I ate 7 slices. That makes 12.” He responded.

I started to laugh so hard I began to cry.

“Are you crying?” he asked laughing.

  “Yes… but no!” I responded.

Dillan reached his hand out towards my face and wiped the tears from my face. I stopped laughing and stared into his bright green eyes. He leaned in and kissed my cheek, he then kissed my forehead, then the tip of my nose. Finally he leaned in and pressed his lips against mine. I reached my hand out and dug my fingers into his brown hair.

“Astra…” he said as he pulled away.

“Yeah?” I asked with a smile on my face.

“I love you.” He said nervously.

My heart froze. Dillan was amazing but I wasn’t ready to say the “L” word yet.

“You don’t have to say it yet, but I just need you to know that I’m i
n love with you.” He added on.

I smiled and leaned in and began to kiss him again. It was a really good night, one that I really needed. We laid on the blanket snuggled up and looked at the stars up in the sky. I felt like I could live in this moment for forever.

“Is it okay if I walk you home tonight?” Dillan asked.

I nodded my head and we began to get up off the ground. Dillan put his arm around me as we began to walk towards the house. One we reached the trail that lead to the door Dillan stopped.

“I think this is as far as I should go.” He said.

  “Why?” I asked.

“If I take you any further I won’t be able to let you go.”

I looked down and began to blush.

“You are amazing Dillan. I hope you know that.” I told him.

I stood up on my tippy toes and kissed his cheek, then I pulled his head down towards me so I could kiss his forehead, then I kissed his nose, and then his lips.

“Good night Dillan. Thank you for tonight.” I said as I started to walk towards the house.

  “Goodnight Astra..”

  Roseley City

  “Knock! Knock!”

I opened my eyes and looked at the clock next to my bed. It read four thirty a.m. I began to drag myself out of bed and walk to the door.

“Who is it?” I yelled through the door.

“Your favorite guy ever, not to mention the best looking guy you know.” The voice responded.

I opened the door and saw Dean.

“Can I come in?” he asked.

  “Uh.. Sure!” I responded.

I wasn’t sure what was going on. All I knew was that I was extremely tired. Dean walked into the kitchen and started looking for something to eat.

“Do you guys just eat gross healthy food?” he asked.

I started to smile and shake my head.

“Sometimes eating healthy is good. Have this apple.” I said.

I picked up an apple off the table and tossed it to him. Dean caught it and began to eat it. That’s when it hit me. Why was Ryan in my house? What did he want?

“So.. Why are you here?” I asked.

“The butt kicking. Remember? The Captain and the Black Shadow were planning on attacking Roseley City.” He responded.
