Here In Your Arms (Fort Haven Book 1)

Doubtful. Half the time, guys were dense as hell.

  “Everything okay?” he called.

Another shot of adrenaline soared through her. “Yeah, I’ll be right there.”

With the light off, she emerged from the bathroom quietly, and Gray sat on the edge of the bed in silence, drinking her in as she came into view. God help him, there was something undeniably hot about her wearing his shirt.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “I probably look like trash.”

Gray shook his head. “You could never look like trash.” His arms reached for her, begging her to come closer. “Come here.”

She sat down beside him, feeling the heat radiating from his chest. “You know we don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.”

He turned to her, brushing a few wayward strands of hair from her face, and pressed his forehead to hers. “Trust me,” he panted. “I want to. Just as badly as you do.”

Time stood still as their lips hovered near each other. They were on the precipice, dangerously close to falling off the edge. But if there ever was a time to take the plunge into the unknown, it was right here, right now.

Her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him in tightly as their lips crashed together in a heated fury, and desperate hunger took hold as their tongues feverishly met each other stroke for stroke. Sophia was in a haze now, kissing him greedily as though it was the last night she’d ever have with him. He tasted like sweetness and cinnamon, and as she lost herself to his kiss, she knew she would never want anyone else but him. No matter how much the last several months felt like a dream, they were real. He was real.

And she never wanted this night to end.

She settled herself in his lap, and he pulled her closer, letting his hands trace the outlines of her curves from underneath the thin cotton shirt. Maybe she was sexy as hell in it, but it would look even better if it was on the floor, and a soft cry escaped her as his fingertips skimmed her skin, tracing a path down to the waistband of her underwear. She inhaled deeply, feeling his fingers tease her as they hovered over the fabric.

“Are you absolutely sure about this?” he asked.

“Yes,” she breathed. “Yes, I’ve never been more sure about anything.”

Grayson scooped her up in his arms, letting her settle softly against the mattress as his lips grazed her jawline. Every part of her was perfect, and even if it took all night to kiss every part of her, he would do it.

  They had nothing but time.

And if the world stopped spinning some time in the distant future, at least they would always have each other.
