The Gentleman Incubus

Glenn huffed once, moved to his bedroom, regathered his resolve, and gave a quick nod to himself.

  “All right, Ynnistoria. Hit me.”

Good thing he heeded her advice.

Glenn’s bones and muscles locked up as he felt something burst open from within his chest. Liquid fire poured through his veins and nerves, and he would have screamed his throat bloody raw if he could. Yet he could do nothing in his enforced paralysis but shake impotently as raw pain coursed through his body.

He continued groaning and shivering as his body shifted, tearing apart the clothes he wore as his demonic features imposed their existence over his humanity.

He felt his blue skin contract and expand, the muscles underneath hardening as they absorbed the condensed magic defined by his experience points. The claws on his hands, the fangs in his mouth, and the horns on his head all received the same treatment—becoming tougher and more dangerous. The fire inside his chest cavity cooled, leaving behind wider passageways capable of accommodating more essence.

The changes ended after what felt like an eternity but in reality was just five minutes. Those few minutes, however, seemed the longest that Glenn ever felt in his life.

He gingerly attempted to pick himself up, wincing as memories of pain threatened to overwhelm him. Thoroughly drained from the ordeal, he decided to just lie back down and study his new stats from the comfort of his bed.

“Huh… considering that Perception and Demonic Affinity got the biggest boosts, am I right in saying that they’re the primary attributes of an Incubus?”

Ynnnistoria: Partially correct, Glenn. Spirit and Willpower are supposed to be the primary attributes of a Lust Demon. The higher your Willpower, the harder it will be for others to resist your mental abilities. Spirit should allow you to tap into mana to power your abilities, granting you a reserve that should let you cast without immediately drawing upon your reserve of life points.

Ynnistoria: However, this world of yours has very little ambient mana. It’s almost negligible, really, not even enough to fill your mana points. This is why your witch friend Samantha can only rely on higher powers to channel magic from. This limitation is made worse by your Broken status effect, and ♓
