Sira sat in the damp forest. Where was he? How long would it take for him to arrive in Klavon’s realm. Surely the dragon would fly him here. Surely Darius had not become victim to a field of stalks, again!
She grinned. She almost missed the old Darius, klutz, clumsy, and awkward. But the Darius she had seen in the village, fighting the minions and Klavon showed her a more mature, young man. And she ran her fingers along her lips, remembering the kiss she had given him a few days before—the kiss that Darius hadn’t realized was…real.
She looked hard into the sky on the horizon. But Prydon was smart—they would not fly to the castle. Still, it had become tiresome waiting day-after-day for the boy to arrive. Not even her cat was present to keep her company, assigned with another task.
Sira had just settled in for another day of painful surveillance when she heard it.
