Klayton laughed as they walked to his trunk. “Alright, what should we use?” Klayton had always seen his older brother as his parent figured and always listened to his suggestions.

“We got to be quick and sufficient. No mistakes. We each get a shotgun, a pistol, and a machete.”

Klayton nodded and inside a duffle bag he placed two Kel-Tec KSG shotguns, one Heckler & Koch P30L and one Walther P99 handgun. Then, he placed two sheathed nineteen inch Kukri machetes that had a stainless steel, thirteen inch blade.

“Ready? Let’s go. We can't risk any more time here. We have to act now.” Klayton placed the bag's strap on his shoulder as Dante walked towards the building.

Dante placed his back against the wall, and then looked at his brother. "Okay, ready?" Klayton nodded and so Dante squatted and placed his fingers intertwined with one another and then held his grip tightly. "Okay, go!"

While carrying the duffle bag, Klayton began to run towards his brother. He jumped; placing his right foot on both of Dante’s palms. Dante then lifted his arms up as powerfully as he could, while giving his brother’s foot a solid foundation. He catapulted Klayton all the way to the edge of the roof, where Klayton grabbed firmly and quickly so as to not fall.

Klayton felt the strong wind hitting his face as he held on. With ease he lifted himself up. Now he was standing on the roof as Dante waited for his brother to give him the signal; a thumbs up. Three seconds passed by before Klayton showed his fist and then erected his middle finger instead.

Dante smiled as he crouched and then jump upwards, where his brother’s hand was waiting to catch him. Klayton grabbed him with a tight grip, and then lifted him up with a boost as Dante pulled himself to safety. “You good?”

  “Yeah.”

Klayton went to the duffle bag that was now o the floor and then he unzipped it. He handed Dante his weapons. When they were ready, the brothers began to walk towards the rooftop’s door.

Dante looked it. “You know how to pick a lock?”

“Of course it’s actually pretty easy. You place your hand on the doorknob,” Klayton did as he said and with his strength, he broke the doorknob, “and it’s that simple.”

  “Okay. Smart ass.”

They walked down a set of stairs and then opened another door that led them into the second floor’s hallway. They carefully looked both ways before entering the hallway. They realized that it had been years since the building was abandoned. What was once a home for multiple families and other people had now become a decaying place that was slowly falling into pieces.

In the supernatural world, a vampire or werewolf is always born with one and sometimes rarely, up to three enhanced abilities that were more powerful than all of their other ones. When the brothers turned, Dante was reborn with tremendous strength, while Klayton had his sense of smell and hearing at a higher level.

“Alright,” Klayton pointed to the left side of the hallway, “four doors down, I can sense a small group of vampires emitting coldness from their bodies. Their heartbeats are going way too slow for a human being.”

“I can sense three, maybe four people.” Dante added.

Klayton nodded and they began to walk towards the targeted door. Klayton was aiming his pistol and Dante wielded his shotgun as he lead the way.

Klayton put his hands on his brother’s shoulder, “Wait.” They both stopped. “I think that there is a person, you know, a human inside of that room. We have to be careful.”

“Okay. But we only need one of the vampires alive.”

Once they were in front of the door, Klayton kicked the door open and they both entered the room quickly. They scanned the room and saw that there was a beaten woman laying down lifelessly on a couch. Her skin and clothes were all covered in blood and the brothers could see that two vampires had been were feeding on her.

One was drinking blood from her neck and the second one was draining her wrists. The blood loss that she was experiencing was only going to result in her dying.

Klayton aimed his handgun, pulled the trigger, and his weapon sent two devastating bullets to the back of each vampire. However, they were in an adrenaline rush and too overwhelmed with pleasure from their blood consumption that they refused to stop feeding on the woman.

Irritated, Dante quickly walked towards the vampire closest to him and he pressed the tip of his shotgun barrel against his temple. As the vampire was starting to notice him, he pulled the trigger.

Klayton placed his gun back into its holster that was attached to his belt, and then he took out his machete. He grabbed the other vampire’s hair and pulled his head back, then he swung his machete down and decapitated him.

The woman was too fatigued to react to her surroundings, but she glanced at them before loosing consciousness again.

“Klay, watch her. I’m going to check the other room. I know that there was a third vamp.” He said as he walked away,

Klayton confirmed that both vampires were dead. Then, he dropped his machete and turned to the woman.

He caressed her as he focused on her heartbeat. It was weak and he had also noticed that her breathing was getting weaker. He quickly cut his wrist and as he was about to feed her his blood, she whispered for him to stop. “But, I can save you.” He insisted.

She smiled. “It’s okay. They fed me their blood before they started to hurt me. They said it was a way to keep me healing so that they could keep hurting me.” Her voice was weak and she was trembling. Klayton could sense that the transformation was already slowly happening.

After searching the rooms one by one, and finding no one, Dante said, “It’s clear. God damn it. If one left, then they will know about what we are doing sooner rather than later.”

Dante walked towards the balcony and then looked down on the street. He saw a person running towards a car. “I’ll be back.” Were the last words that he said before jumping over the balcony and then lading on the street pavement. He started to sprint towards the car as it had began to drive away.

He leapt as high as he could and landed on the hood of the car. The driver tried to shake him off, but Dante held on tightly. He then balanced himself, took out his pistol, aimed it where he assumed would be the best spot to hit the driver, and then he pulled the trigger multiple times.

The car began to drive uncontrollably and slow down as the driver lost control. The bullets had pierced his shoulder and knee caps.

Dante jumped off the car right as it was about to hit a light-post. His body rolled for a few spins as he landed on the pavement and scratched his arms and face. As he regained control of his body, it began to heal its wounds as he got up and walked towards the car.

The vampire was struggling to get out, but he was stuck due to the car’s impact against the light-post.

Dante used his elbow to smash the glass widow. He wanted to kill the vampire quickly; a gunshot to the head would have been enough. But he wanted to make a statement to every vampire or huntsmen that may come his way.

He punched the vampire’s jaw and knocked him out. Then with his hand he stabbed the vampire’s chest and pulled out his heart. Fatality. He joked to himself after he threw the heart back inside the car and began to head back to his brother.

It has been five hours since the Kordovah brothers rescued the woman from the vampire’s nest. Klayton was looking out after her in a fortified cabin home that was located on a private area. It was one of their many safe houses that they had scattered around the world.

Once they were settled in, Dante had left to sell all the drugs that they had raided from the vampires. They had also found one hundred thousand dollars in folded dollar bills and had agreed to split it in half. Klayton was sitting on a couch in the living room, watching a series on his tablet.

The woman woke up from her deep sleep. She noticed that she was now wearing sweatpants twice her size, and a hoodie. She rapidly opened and closed her eyes as her vision adjusted to her new heightened senses. As the Kordova
h’s knew that her body was going to be sensitive to loud noises or bright lights, the room had been kept with the lights off. However, with her new eyesight, she was able to look in the dark with her enhanced eye vision.

The room was dimly lit and she was able to look around with ease. After locating the flip switch on the wall, she walked to it and flipped it, which then turned on the lights from the lamp that was on the nightstand next to her. Immediately the bursting white light burned her eyes and she screamed in pain.

The sounds that she made from the pain that she was suffering made Klayton drop his tablet and then he ran to her aid immediately. He opened the door and looked down as she was on the floor, covering her eyes. “Hey, it’s okay,” he knelt right next to her and placed his hand on her shoulder to comfort her, “Your body is just adjusting to-.” The way he touched and caressed her shoulder reminded her of how the vampires had been harassing her.

The bad memories resurfaced and in a fit of anger, she pushed Klayton away with her newfound strength, sending him back a few feet away from her.

He laughed it off as she stared in disbelief. “It’s been a while since I’ve been manhandled like that.”

“What the hell is going on?” Her voice was a mix of fear and confusion.

Klayton stood up and extended his hand to help her get up. “I’m Klayton Kordovah. My brother, Dante and I rescued you from a shitty group of vampires.”

“Oh.” She said casually as she got up from the floor with his help.

“You’re not surprised to hear that term.” Klayton quickly noticed.

“It’s all they bragged about. How they were going to turn me into one and be their sex toy. They fed me blood to heal me as they kept torturing me. A minute or two before you came in, they had stabbed me. Said it was the only way to turn me. Guess I just passed out.”

“You died.” His tone of voice was blunt and he quickly regretted how insensitive he had sounded.

Her copper eyes widened. “What?! You mean- “

“I’m sorry, but, yes. You are a vampire now. What’s your name?”

She stayed quiet as the world that she had been a part of had now died. Klayton understood the overwhelming feeling that she was experiencing right now.

“I’m Lillian.” She said in a low voice.

“Hey, I will help you get thru this. I have a lot of money. You will be okay.”

  “Are you a vampire also?”

  “No, I’m a werewolf.”

  “Does that make us enemies?”

“No. Don’t think that way. How do you feel?” He was curious to know.

“I feel so hungry, but I don’t know for what.”

  “Blood. Your body requires blood.”

“What? Just the thought of it alone grosses me out. Hell, no. Do you have any food? I don’t care if it’s frozen food. I’m not picky.”

“Hold on.” He smiled at her before walking away to get her something from the fridge. He opened the door and grabbed a blood bag from inside and with it, he returned to her. “Here. This will give you strength.” He handed it to her and the moment that it was in her hands, she opened the bag and began to drink it without arguing with him.

He looked at her. Noticed the tattoos on her arms. Every feature about her attracted him, and he tried to hide it.

“What’s wrong?” She said after finishing the bag of blood.

  “Me? Nothing.”

“Your heart started go beat fast right now.”

“Oh, it’s nothing.” He lied. “Let me call my brother, see where he is at right now. I put some spare clothes on the desk over there. I know it’s not much, but I promise you that tomorrow morning, I am going to take you out to buy new clothes.”

He smiled as he walked away and closed the door behind him. He then grabbed his phone and called his brother.

When Dante answered, Klayton quickly explained everything that he had just happened.

“It’s all going well. I just placed the money in the accounts and I am now heading your way.” He paused for a moment. “Wait. What the hell?”

  “What?”

“Some jackass is leaning against my car, I’ll call you back.”

  “Dan, don’t kill anyone-”

  Dante hung up.

Klayton returned back into the room. He looked at her and smiled nervously. “Where you able to hear that?”

  “Yeah.”

“Let’s talk about the elephant in the room.”

  “Which is?”

“Somebody drugged you. You got kidnapped, tortured, and then reborn as a vamp. Afterwards, you woke up in a cabin house with a guy who fed you a bag of blood. Why are you not freaking out?”

She considered everything that he had just said. “Should I freak out? ‘Cause I am anxious. But what good will it do for me if I start welcoming these panic attacks? I’m just trying to look at the good side of everything. Plus, don’t vampires live forever?”

“Yeah, you’re right. That’s a good way to view it. And yeah they do. That’s good, right?”

  “What about werewolves?”

“It’s a little different. Basically, I will age ten years in a century.

“Hey, do you have more blood?” She asked excitedly. She felt silly for her overreaction earlier.

“Yeah, let me grab it from the fridge.” As Klayton was walking to get the bag of blood from the fridge, someone kicked open the front door.

Lillian gasped in fear as she turned to look into the direction of the door. Klayton ran and got in front of her to keep her safe. “Stay back.” He then looked at the two men in front of him, “Who the hell are you guys?”

They were Victor and Hector, prospects of Kayla, doing anything to pass the initiation test and be rewarded with vampirism.

Victor said, “You know, we came back from a beer run, only to find our people killed, our money gone,” he looked at Lillian in a way that made her feel uncomfortable, “and our pet was missing.”

“Screw you!” She screamed as Klayton held her back.

“Why attack now? We’ve been here for a while now.”

“Wanted to see if your friend was coming back or not. It’s all about timing, and if I don’t kill you for payback for what you guys did, then I am never going to become a vampire. Probably just end up dead.” He grinned as they both took out their handguns from their waists.

“I got this. You stay back.” Klayton began walking towards them. “I’m going to kill one of you and the survivor gets tortured. You guys pick who is it going to be.”

They aimed their guns at him, and without saying anything else, they began to shoot Klayton.

They were efficient shooters with each aim hitting Klayton, and none of them directed at Lillian.

Klayton dropped to his knees. Hector put his gun back in his holster and took out his machete. He walked in front of Klayton and gently placed his blade on Klayton’s shoulders.

“Silver beats wolf.” He raised back his machete and then swung it forward with full strength. But before it could reach his neck, Klayton grabbed it with his palm.

“You’re an idiot.” Klayton yanked the machete away from his hands, and punched him in the gut. The prospect felt to his knees and was now at eye level with Klayton, who then butt headed him. The man felt back to the floor as he groaned in pain.

The other man, Victor, looked at Klayton. “Wait, silver is meant to be your weakness. Why did the bullets not kill you?”

“Is garlic going to be yours?” Klayton grabbed Hector’s machete and stabbed him on the stomach. He then looked at Victor, the last man standing.

As Klayton was about to get up to hurt Victor until he got answers out of him, Lillian jumped on the man’s back and bit his neck.

Victor feared for his life and tried to fend her off by moving violently, but to no avail. The puncture wounds had made him exhausted and he felt to the ground. She got on top of him and was about to kill him with another bite, when Klayton yelled for her to stop.

/>   “Lilly! Wait!” He said, and she looked at him. “We need him alive, to track someone down, or at least get some answers out of him. Please.”

The woman looked back down at the man that she was holding by the collar of his shirt. His mouth was bleeding and he gave her the nastiest smile. “Listen to the wolf, sweetie.”

“You can knock him out though.” Klayton said.

  “Thanks.” She raised her fist.

  “Wait, no, wait!”

She made a direct hit on Victor’s nose and broke it. He groaned in pain. “I never knocked someone out before.” She said.

Klayton laughed. “It’s okay.” He walked to Victor as Lillian remained on top of. When Lillian got off of him, Klayton grabbed Victor by his shoulder and dragged him to the kitchen.

“What about his dead friend?” She asked.

Klayton sat Victor down on a chair and then turned to Lillian, “My car is open. There’s jumping cables in the trunk. Can you please get them? After that, you can have his buddy. You’re going to need as much energy as you can consume from the blood.

Lillian nodded and went to fetch the cables. After she came back and handed them to Klayton, he tied Victor up as hard as possible, which woke him up from his fatigueness.

“Now, answer my questions, and I won’t kill you.” Klayton’s nails began to grow into thick and sharp needles. He ran the nails from the man’s forehead down to his chin, cutting him and causing him to bleed. Victor cried in pain.

“Can you tell me about Kayla or any of her high ranking members?”

“I know Nero is going to Oakhaven or is already there, probably.”

Klayton looked at him curiously. “Who is that?”

He scoffed. “Nero is one of Kayla’s highest ranking vampires. An Elite.”

Klayton decided not to torture him anymore and with his nail, he cut his own arm to make himself bleed.

“You’re scared and beat up. It’s making your heart beat too fast for me to tell if you are lying or not. Once you heal, I’ll ask again.”

Klayton fed Victor his blood and then helped relocate his nose. He turned to look at Lillian, who was on her knees and bending down to drink Hector’s blood from his arms. He caught himself looking at her ass with lust in his heart. Lillian stopped drinking as she felt Klayton’s heart going fast again. She turned to look at him, but Klayton was now giving her his back as he was facing Victor again.
