Tak: The A**hole Club Series

Like, enter some cheap ass diner to get her their strawberry shake. I am convinced only my face and the quick flash of a fifty is what made the fuckers behind the counter make the shake to go. Turning to the side, my jaw dropped at the sight of the one person I would never expect to see around these parts.

Taking a quick look around, I beat a quick retreat to the hallway that led to the bathrooms. Pressing my back against the wall, I prayed to Jazz’s cute as fuck angry face that Deacon came and went with swiftness. I would be too embarrassed to explain I was running an errand for my girl, especially after all the shit I talked. Deacon would tell the others and I’d have to endure asshole text messages from the fuckers for weeks.

  Nah, fuck that.

  “How’re you doing, Noni?”

I moved closer to the corner. Deacon was many things, but soft-spoken he wasn’t. And I’d just heard him talk in a way I’d never heard before.

Leaning closer, I glanced a bit around the corner and frowned when I saw him take a seat in front of a woman whose back was to me. A part of me wanted to take a picture and send it to the others. Someone had to keep everyone in the loop and if it was Luke, he would share the bitch out of this juicy gossip.

I leaned back and after a minute pulled the small baggy of edibles out of my back pocket. I had assured my lovely fluffy wife-to-be I wouldn’t touch any of this shit, but the idea of pouring grade A marijuana gummies in the trash was reprehensible, so I’m patiently eating them up until there’s no more.

Leaning against the wall, I could hear their murmured voices. The high must be getting to me, because at some point I started to imagine I was invisible, and I could walk right past them without being noticed. I looked over to the counter and saw the drink they’d made for me sitting there on top.

Dammit, how much longer are they going to talk? Jazz milkshake will be soup if they take any longer—

“You’re pregnant?” Deacon’s shout cut over my thoughts.

I pressed a hand to my heart, unsure if I was surprised or having a heart attack. After a while, I was assured it wasn’t a heart attack.

I tried to focus and heard Deacon roar, “Are you out of your fucking mind?”

I released a whistle and shook my head. “Ah shit, here we go again.”

  Acknowledgments

Thank you for reading my story. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it. The two characters were quirky and fun to explore. So, I’m pleased that it came out so well.

This was my first experience writing in a group setting and I learned so much. I’m so grateful to have gained this opportunity thanks to Blue and I hope to continue to enjoy many more exciting things in the future with my pen sisters.
