All of the stories in this book are stories I would have taken for ChiZine, and I would have gladly published this collected volume under the CZP imprint. I couldn’t be prouder of the anthology John and I have put together. Nor could I be prouder of the writers featured within it, as well as the writers who came close to being included. You are all deeply weird and should fly your freak flag high!
Something I’ve come to realize since ChiZine Publications has become my full-time job these past two years, is that Canadians can write dark, weird fiction extremely well. I can honestly say that-after editing ChiZine the webzine for over thirteen years-Canadian contributions are some of the best we’ve ever featured, always figuring prominently in our online pages, just as they figure prominently now, in print, through our press.
I’ve no doubt the Tesseracts series will continue to publish dark, strange fiction-and the writers within its pages will continue to write dark, strange fiction outside the Tesseracts and ChiZine realms. It’s just how they roll.
And that is no surprise.
