He dropped to one knee while holding her hand. “Meg Todd McClain, I’ve come to love you more than I thought possible. Will you do me the great honor of becoming my wife for the rest of our days?”
“Curtis McClain, nothing could please me more.”
He stood and pressed his lips to hers. In his kiss she felt the same longing as she’d held. He was learning to express himself in words and actions.
When their kiss ended, he looked into her eyes. “I regret giving you the impression I rejected you. Please believe that was never the case. I couldn’t imagine a woman like you would ever be content to remain with me. I have nothing to offer you.”
She kept her arms loosely around his neck. “Yes, you do. In fact, you’re all I ever dreamed of or wanted. I’ve fallen completely in love with you. You’re brave and kind, a good husband and father. A bonus is that you’re also a very nice looking man. With a growing business and a sound home, we can have a wonderful life together.”
“My dear Meg, my beautiful wife, if you’re with me our life will be wonderful. Oh, I know problems will crop up over time. Together we’ll handle whatever fate brings our way.”
“I give thanks that I came to Angel Creek and you. And I hope Ida and her husband are reunited and looking down to see that Penny and Tom are happy and loved and safe, thanks to you.”
“No one could be happier than I am that our lives will be bound together forever.”

About Caroline Clemmons
Through a crazy twist of fate, Caroline Clemmons was not born on a Texas ranch. To compensate for this illogical error, she writes about handsome cowboys, feisty ranch women, and scheming villains in a tiny office her family calls her pink cave. She and her Hero live in North Central Texas cowboy country where they ride herd on their dog and three rescued indoor cats as well as providing nourishment outdoors for squirrels, birds, and other critters.
The over fifty titles she has created in her pink cave have made her an Amazon bestselling author and won several awards. She writes sweet to sensual romances about the West, both historical and contemporary as well as time travel and mystery. Her series include the Kincaids, McClintocks, Stone Mountain Texas, Bride Brigade, Texas Time Travel, Texas Caprock Tales, Loving A Rancher, and Pearson Grove as well as numerous single titles and contributions to multi-author sets. When she’s not writing, she loves spending time with her family, reading her friends’ books, lunching with friends, browsing antique malls, checking Facebook, and taking the occasional nap.
