2288: The Skotadian Experiment Page 26

by Douglas Howell

  “Because your brain can’t fathom it let me be perfectly clear to you. We have no idea as to rather or not there is anything in those cloning vats. Maybe it’s nothing. But if there is something contained within them then we need to be prepared for that. We must take it to heart that although we suffered a loss to great to bear, we should not let it become far worse through our stupidity. In short . . . better safe than sorry.” Mad Dawg stated over the radio to his Marines.

  “The end of hope, life and the complete enslavement of our souls to death and destruction awaits us. But as damned as it may be . . . the wretched universe had the most damn of cruelest fate trust upon us through the simple act of giving us an array of hope. I curse you oh mighty gods for this vengeful cruel act of hope. For if you were sincere . . . than why did you took our ship away? Lenkov and Omori gone to who knows where. What did you do to them? And now our fate rest in the hands of the few. And yet death stalks us because of your cruelty. How many have died so far? And was their deaths really that necessary? I ask you oh mighty gods. I grudge you like you grudge me. Oh cruel fate.” Maxwell said out loud to the gods that watch overhead.

  Word traveled fast upon that day when it never should have. It wasn’t long before everyone learned the fate of the Hammer of Doom and thus Lenkov and Omori. But the crew along with Maxwell no longer cared about living. And Task Force ZH-3C? They quickly realized that death is on the warpath with everyone upon that world. The people were panic stricken and they knew that there is no ship that can protect them. With a deep heaviness in everyone’s hearts they all knew intuitively that there is no hope but the hope of death.

  It was only after TEN integrated his consciousness into the Hammer of Doom that he finally realized what the Valknut is. Only then could he get rid of it. Omori was always alone in her assessment of the Valkyrie Matrix that it was nothing more than delusions of technophiles who could not accept the harsh reality of the message that came from the Valkyrie Matrix. What the technophiles thought was either the “soul” of the Valkyrie ET civilization, or data that was heavily encrypted, was actually nothing more than corrupt data. And the Valknut was trying to decrypt that data.

  “Look mommy we have guests.” The woman said. She was covered in blood and standing with a hatchet in her right hand and her left hand was up a dummy doll that looked like a chupacabra. She also had the most sinister look in her eyes.

  Neither Lenkov nor Omori was moved or frighten by what they were seeing. Sayaka extended her right hand with it looking like she was reaching for something and then shot electricity out her hand at the woman. Sayaka continued for thirty seconds before she finally stop. She then placed both her left index and middle finger on her left temple and had the look that she was in deep thought.

  “Simental, Anna-Maria. Theoretical Physicist in extraterrestrial technology. Professor in linguistics. Fluent in thirty-three languages both human and extraterrestrial. Comply.” Sayaka mentioned.

  “Oh you are going to pay deeply for that.” Simental responded.

  “Comply.” Sayaka said after she zapped her again.

  “Oh I’m going to kill you slowly and . . .” Simental was saying.

  “Comply!” Sayaka shouted after she zapped her for almost fifty seconds.

  “You’re blood will flow!” Simental shouted back.

  “I order you to comply!” Sayaka shouted back after she zapped her just to shut her up. Sayaka then zapped her for ninety seconds. Sayaka knew that she could do that as much and as often and as long as she likes. She not going to kill her. It’s just a simulation, but it will hurt.

  Simental was laying in the street laughing insanely which was seriously pissing off Sayaka. Sayaka then said something in Japanese. It only caused Simental to laugh even harder. Sayaka was so pissed off that she wasn’t even thinking straight. Joseph then came near to get her to stop because of how fruitless it was becoming. Sayaka only turned to him and said that she will break her.

  “Hey Sayaka . . . you do know that Joseph is a manko-lover, don’t you?[32]” Simental mentioned. Sayaka then used both her hands to zap Simental. It greatly intensified the pain that Simental was feeling. Joseph at one point put his hand on Sayaka to get her to stop but she refused. Five minutes and fifteen seconds later Sayaka stop only because she heard someone cry out for her to stop.

  “Hey you stop!” The unknown voice shouted out. But Sayaka wouldn’t she was just too determined to break her.

  “Sayaka Cyber Doom Omori . . . stop!” The voice shouted back. It did get her to stop.

  “And who are you!?” Omori asked the stranger.

  “Don’t you know?” The stranger responded.

  “Let me tell her.” Simental responded. Sayaka than zapped her without looking.

  “Tickle, tickle, tickle!” Simental shouted back. She then laughed in a insane guffaw manner. And of course, Sayaka zapped her again. Every time Simental started to say something Sayaka would zap her. It was starting to becoming automatic for both of them, with Simental acting like it was tickling her even though it was actually painful. It was clear that Sayaka was pissed and wanted her to shut up. Joseph at one point put his face in his left hand and then shook his head. He was getting too frustrated by it all.

  “Why don’t you just send her to a different location!?” Joseph yelled at Sayaka. She then thought for a moment and then brought her right hand to her chest and looked at it. A energy ball then appeared in her hand and she then shot it at Simental.

  “I’ll be back my little tickle, tickle!” Simental said as she disappeared.

  “I think you now know why we all struggle with our sanity in here.” The stranger mentioned.

  “James Mitchell Scot.” Sayaka said.

  “And . . .?” He asked her.

  “Computer scientist and . . . me?” Sayaka responded. She was confused about why her name should pop up in association with his name.

  “I was fifteen growing up under the Skotadian auspices when I saw that movie about the two of you. I was so overwhelmed that I wanted to follow in your footsteps and to be like you. I learned everything that I could about you. I wanted to make you proud of me. I went above and beyond what was required of me. And . . .” Scot was saying. He was holding back on something.

  “What you outdid me?” Sayaka asked him. She was quite touch that she had a fan. Her comment caused him to laugh in agreement.

  “Yes.” He responded.

  “What are you holding back on?” Sayaka asked him. Both of them knew that there was no such thing as personal information let alone secrets. For everything was open and out for everybody to know. He wouldn’t mention what he was withholding on.

  “Suspicion.” Lenkov mentioned.

  “Yes. It’s why I took this job. The user broke my heart.” Scot responded.

  “I’m sorry to hear that.” Lenkov responded.

  “I hate to mention it, but we need Intel upon this place.” Sayaka mentioned.

  “Simental is beyond hope. The computer systems that she is apart of needs to be taken off-line.” Scot informed them.

  “Wouldn’t she just moved into another computer system?” Sayaka asked him.

  “Yes, but she will be far more weaker. And we need to . . .” He was saying.

  “Take all computers off-line and then reinstall the OS in an effort to stop the madness.” Sayaka responded.

  “Yes.” Scot responded in a dejected tone.

  “So what will happen to each of you?” Sayaka asked Scot.

  “Peace. And death with dignity.”

  “And your work?” Lenkov asked.

  “All of our knowledge and skills are stored in a experimental nanomorph.” Scot was saying. It was obvious that he wanted to mention something else.

  “What? What is it?” Sayaka asked him.

  “The computers here, as you can tell, comes from an ET civilization. But we were not informed from which one. Because of that secrecy we had no way in knowi
ng the real threat that those computers posed to us. The electronic equipment here is too sensitive to be hooked up just to any type of computers. In an effort to save ourselves we had no other choice but to enter these computers and that is when we discovered that the ET civilization left us a very nasty psychological trap.” Scot informed both of them.

  “Sounds like it was the Yxxk’nuos civilization. They’re bad about doing stuff like that.” Lenkov mentioned.

  “Once the computers have rebooted the dark void will activate and your ship, this starbase and the fleet will disappear into a different time period.” Scot responded.

  “Then how will we get back?” Sayaka asked.

  “I’m sorry but there is no way to get back.” Scot mentioned.

  “Well, look like our little adventure just got a little bit more interesting.” Sayaka mentioned.

  “Yeah, a little too interesting if you ask me.” Lenkov added.

  “Just how far back in time would we go?” Sayaka asked Scot.

  “Suggestive. Five days, seven months, twelve years, two centuries, or even several thousand years. It could even be as long as a million. The good news is that you will not end up in anything.” Scot mentioned.

  “Great. Me without my deck of cards. How else are we going to pass the time away?” Sayaka mentioned. It caused Joseph to chuckle a bit.

  “One thing first. Could you please do my computer mainframe first? It is indeed hard to maintain my sanity in this place.” Scot asked them.

  “Sure. No problem.” Lenkov mentioned.

  “Goodbye and Godspeed.” Scot said his permanent goodbye to them. Both Lenkov and Omori then “returned” back to their ship.

  They were: Sheryl Ambrose specialist in reverse engineering ET technology; Jonathan David Rowe expert in the new field of temporal mechanics; Elizabeth Susan Soraci expert in Particle Physics & Interpolation of ET Thought Physics (meaning: figuring out the science within the mind of an ET in an effort to assist others in reversing engineering ET technology.); Adam Vazquez Astro-Paleontologist & ET Linguistic; Darryl “The Brain” Edwards Professor of ET Psychology & Thought Processes; Dwayne “Little Mac” Thurston Supreme Council of Security Over ET Security Tech (meaning; that he handles all extraterrestrial security measure and protocols within Skotadi); Vincent Andrei Professor of ET Cryptology & Linguistics; Jacqueline Petrini Professor in the theory of alternate realities; and Catharine T. Stefan who held the most PhDs at fifteen. Collectively they all (including both Scot and Simental) held fifty-six PhDs.

  “You know . . . I just realize that the name of this starbase is called Mount Olympus.” Omori stated to Lenkov once they “got back.”

  “Yeah so what’s your point?” Lenkov asked her.

  “And you do know that the name of the experiment that they were running . . . is called Kronos . . . don’t you?” Omori informed him.

  “Oh my God! That means that we are . . .” Lenkov just couldn’t believe it. His statement only caused Omori to laugh.

  “I’m sorry Scot but even Zeus Moiragetes is bound by the will of Moirai Thanatoio. Here is all the information that you need as to why you can’t die just yet.” Omori sent the message into Scot’s server.

  “I understand and Godspeed.” Scot responded.

  “Time to unlock the gate of Mount Olympus and enter.” Lenkov stated and with that they activated the reboot of all computers. And then they were gone.

  The reports were coming in from the reporters who made it to Mad Dawg’s location. The Marines were slaughtered by a new form of a clone called Efiáltis (Greek for nightmare). Although the Marines were able to killed off the new type of “monsters,” and fired their torpedo when a Marine got trigger happy, the causalities was so high that Mad Dawg and his Marines are finished off.

  “So given the fact that the Marines have been wiped out of existence, just how do you propose that your force protect this world?” The reporter asked Captain Maxwell.

  “The Dark Core member Infernus has been eliminated. Please be advised that we are currently assessing the situation for further threats. Once detected we will make every effort to eliminate this new threat.” Captain Maxwell was saying. He almost wanted to have his teeth pulled then to be talking to these vultures.

  “You wanted to see me sir?” Commander Ivey who served under Captain Levine asked Captain DeVore.

  “Where is Captain Levine?” DeVore asked her.

  “I don’t know sir. He was with me as we were escaping the destruction of our ship. I do know that he made it to an escape pod and that he must have landed somewhere upon this world. But I have no idea as to where.” Ivey responded.

  “Okay thank you.” DeVore responded.

  “Why are you showing images of the founder?” Commander Ivey asked someone.

  “What are you talking about? That’s not the founder of Skotadi. That’s TEN.” The news reporter responded.

  “TEN? What’s that?” Ivey asked.

  “You know TEN as in Tentative Experimental Nanomorph.” The reporter responded.

  “What in the hell is that?” Ivey asked.

  “Something that allowed Lenkov and Omori to merge into one.”

  “Oh. Well . . . that’s still the founder!” Ivey mentioned a lot louder. It got everybody to come and listen.

  “No it isn’t.” The reporter responded.

  “No seriously. Look.” Commander Ivey then used her cellphone to broadcast a video to a large monitor. The video was that of the founder of Skotadi and sure enough it was the spitting image of TEN. Not only that even the mannerism match perfectly.

  “No. That can’t be true.” The reporter, who from earlier treated Omori like crap, stated. How could she believe it?

  “You do realize that the letter j is the tenth letter of the alphabet, don’t you?” Ivey asked the reporter.

  “Yeah so what’s your point.”

  “The founder’s name is Jason M. Idelle. And thus the initials are JMI. But if you were to reverse those initials you would get IMJ. Which sounds like ‘I am J.’ I am the letter J. And thus I am the tenth letter. I am ten.” Ivey responded.

  “That really doesn’t prove a thing.” The reporter responded.

  “Oh yeah. Everyone knows what his name is an alias for. But look at the proof of how he written it. As you can see there is a space between the letter I and the question mark. If you were to count each letter, and the spaces, and the question mark, it comes out to ten. ‘Who am I ?’ His telling us that he is ten.”

  Everybody was looking at the archive footage of the founder much differently at that point. They couldn’t believe it but a part of them wanted it to be true. For they wanted Lenkov and Omori to still be alive. The more that they watch the more they realized that it was true. It then created the question within their minds of what happened to them. To that nobody knows. And they’ll probably never will.

  Part Two: Into the Hands of God

  Do not fear the darkness that looms on the horizon;

  For your strength allowed you to vanquish the evil that seemed greater than God;

  For you have endured the pain of the ages and stood firm;

  And despite your moment of weakness, when you felt that you could not go on;

  You put your fate into the hands of God and found your salvation;

  Indeed the evil tested your heart and soul to the breaking point;

  But your faith in God was stronger, and your sense of justice was equally as strong;

  Although the evil tried to deceive you in all of its diabolical ways;

  The goodness in your heart triumphed with the love and grace of God by your side;

  Evil is never vanquished so easily, for it will try to consume you;

  What it desires is for you and it to become one and the same;

  Then it seeks to slowly destroy your heart, your soul, your life;

  To take you down the dark pathway, for which, there is no return;

  In the end your only
reward is your own damnation that you so deserved;

  Then you will discover that your consciousness becomes your tormentor;

  Calling into question why you should be allowed to go to heaven;

  For you have failed the test and will never enter into paradise;

  For God is not fooled by those who claimed to love him and seek to do evil;

  You must keep your heart pure and strong and resist the evil that threatens your soul;

  For if your love of God is strong, you will fight the many battles with evil, and prevail;

  Those battles will test you to your limits, but remember that God will never leave you;

  And always remember, when the times get too tough to bear;

  God gives victory to those who believe in him.

  “The Unseen God”

  Found on every Skotadian government building and military vessel.

  Tears of a Fallen God

  (1)

  The grief upon Golden Hyperion was so sobering that it made the cold day all the more colder. Most people did not know what to think about concerning rather or not Lenkov and Omori was the founder. What was left of the Marines and Task Force ZH-3C their only concern was their fate. Will Captain Maxwell send them off to a military prison, force them to fight, or let them go home? It didn’t take long for them to find out. Mad Dawg and the rest of his Marines will be sent to Fort Conti and wait out the rest of any possible conflict with Dark Core. Task Force ZH-3C, along with Jaguar 42R and Viper 33X, will still be needed.

  “What are you reading?” Ramirez asked Maria.

  “’Tears of a fallen God,’ by Sayaka Omori.” Maria responded.

  “Oh. So what is it about?”

  “It’s about the fall of the Valkyrie Matrix. You know . . . I really do believe that she truly did respected the sacrifice of those people.”

  “How does it feel being human again?”

  “There are times that I hate it, and there are times that I don’t.”

  “Captain Maxwell wants my team to continue the fight against Dark Core. He said that you can go to Fort Conti and wait it out.”
