2288: The Skotadian Experiment Page 27

“Then in that case I would rather be with you and continue the fight.”

“I kind of wish that you wouldn’t. Please go to Fort Conti.”

“I can’t. Especially how I treated her after all those years. I’m still awe struck at the fact that both of them is Jason M. Idelle. They died, in a matter of speaking, to set this world free. And now our freedoms have been placed into the hands of God. You know Alex . . . I sincerely would prefer for it to be placed into their hands as opposed to God.”

  “Why do you say that?”

“She once told me, and I didn’t care too much to hear it at the time, that if it wasn’t for the creation of Skotadi, the Wol’ga’con hive would have spread all the way to the Earth. I now realize that, not only was she right, but also that the two of them set everyone in this galaxy free of an evil far worse than what anybody could ever know.”

“Speaking as a Atheist I would not have care to worship them for I sincerely believe that they earned it.” Ramirez responded.

Captain Levine just woke up from a nightmare. With intermittent sleep he was too tired to even go into the bathroom. He stood with both of his hands on the bathroom sink with his head down. His body was trembling and he felt nausea coming on to him. When he looked up, for a brief second, he thought that he saw someone else staring back at him. Startled and confused he started to think that it was just his imagination coupled with his sickness. Despite how he feels he still has his duty to perform. He got into the shower and on two occasion he got light headed. While drying himself off he got shortness of breath. The worse part came when he was putting on his clothes.

“Is there anybody there?” He called out to the voice that he was hearing. But there was no answer. All he could hear was his own voice.

“That sounds like . . . Infernus.” He mentioned when he started to pay closer attention. He then said under his breath, “What did that bastard do to me?”

Too tired to fix breakfast, and thinking that the cold air could do him some good, he left and headed to the store. At one point he got lost and after several moments he realize that it was his SIN that gave him the wrong direction. Feeling dejected at the thought that his SIN is corrupted he tried his best to find his way to the store.

Am I seeing these people’s aura? He thought to himself. He then started to realize that most of them had something within their aura but he couldn’t tell what it was. He then had the thought to look down at himself and when he did he noticed that the color of his aura was the same as the color of SIN[33]. That soft blue color of it. He also noticed that no one had that same color. Why only me? He thought to himself.

“Do you really want to know?” The voice said to him. It was not in his head but sound like it was right behind him.

Levine’s face turned white when he heard that voice for he recognized it. He slowly turn around expecting to see him standing behind him. But there was no one there. His heart was pounding deep inside his chest. His fear was rising.

“Boo!” Infernus said loudly. And again the voice sounded like it behind Levine. He was so startled that he felled forward and took off running for his dear life.

“Boy don’t you know that you can’t outrun me!” Infernus barked at him.

“Get . . . out of my . . . SIN.” Levine said through shear exhaustion.

“Either you do as I say or find another person who’s SIN is the same color as yours.” Infernus responded.

“Never. I’ll kill myself.” Levine said out of defiance. It only caused Infernus to laugh in a guffaw manner.

“Then do it! Use your sidearm and blow your fucking brains out!”

Levine then pulled out his sidearm, placed it under his chin, and it was light’s out. For when he awoke he realized that his SIN zapped him unconscious. He then started to cry as he realized that Infernus must have reprogrammed his SIN.

“Like I said, either you do as I say or you will find another.” Infernus said to him.

“I’ll find another.” Levine responded with the cold rain coming down.

“There’s just one problem with that. They’re rare. Only 1-out-of-5000 people are like you. It’s why you were chosen for your mission.”

“I know what you want . . . and it’s something that I could never live with . . . if I helped you.” Levine responded in a despondent tone of voice.

“Then get me out of your SIN.” Infernus responded.

Levine just sat in the alleyway not knowing what to do. Should he help Infernus in his diabolical plan? Fine another person? The moral dilemma was crushing his soul and he knew that it works in Infernus favor. Anytime that he slept he had nightmares and he had no idea as rather or not they are caused by Infernus. He cursed his so-called “blank slate” SIN. The events that was occurring upon Golden Hyperion was making it worse for him. It was only a matter of time before he will succumb to Infernus’ plan.

“What do you think that we should do?” Mad Dawg asked McIntyre.

They were talking about rather or not they should continue the fight. It was Mad Dawg who brought it up. Both were weighing the options and they knew that what comes next is a simple mop up operation of any possibility that the new clones have an army. It’s better to strike swiftly and to strike fast before Dark Core seize the day.

“Both mine and your people have been through hell and back. If we were to jump into the fight then chances are neither of us, nor the rest of our people, will walk away alive. No, I personally think that we should wait this one out.” McIntyre responded.

“So what do you think will be the outcome of any possible engagement with the Dark Core forces?”

“Looking at what you and your people went through? I care not to think about it.”

“So we just let this new beast army wipe these people out of existence? Proving once in for all that there is no hope for human survival and that we are truly destine to go extinct? How would Lenkov and Omori feel about that?”

“Are you that willing to die and to get the rest of your Marines wiped out?”

“I never suggested that we should rush headlong into battle. All I’m saying is that we may be forced into it by the actions of Dark Core.”

“I understand that but I don’t want either one of our people to get killed. There’s just too few of us.” McIntyre responded.

“And what if trouble should find its way here? What then?”

  “That would be different.”

“Well in that case . . . let’s just wait and see what happens.” Mad Dawg responded.

Captain Maxwell, Easton, Irwin and DeVore was discussing about what to be done next. Only Maxwell was concerned about Levine going AWOL. Commander Ivey now acting as the captain for Levine’s crew, gave her unconditional support to Maxwell. Ivey wanted to stay near Maxwell’s forces because she, like he, wanted to carry out the wishes of both Lenkov and Omori. Besides, she wholeheartedly believe that both of them is the founder of Skotadi. And those who don’t carry out their wishes, in her mind, is a traitor. (The rest of Task Force ZH-3C, the Marines, and McIntyre forces accepts that Lenkov and Omori is the founder.) The other captains don’t care about such nuances. For them they only care about themselves and their crew. In their minds it doesn’t matter who Lenkov and Omori is, or was, they are not here to provide their valuable insight.

At the end of the several hour long debate, Captain Easton agreed to go to Wolf Creek (which lies to south-by-northwest of Main Laboratory: Ultra 3X) to provide “defense” of the region, Captain Irwin will go to Bordeaux to provide security for the rebuilding of the city, and Captain DeVore will head to Fort Conti to “provide” security for the wounded and all other discharged personnel who is sent there.

“How did it go sir?” Commander Ivey asked Captain Maxwell after the other captains had left the meeting.

“Well Lisa . . .” Maxwell was saying. He just couldn’t continue.

  “It’s okay sir. I underst
and. What do you wish for me and my crew to do?”

“This new type of clone, what Captain Burton called a Efiáltis, must be defeated by any means necessary[34]. The sacrifice of his Marines have saved this world from those . . . monsters. But in all likelihood they can be produced at that cloning factory. We must take it out. It is what Lenkov and Omori would have wanted.”

“My crew and I will volunteer if you want us too.”

“I appreciate that. But right now we need to repair the defensives of this facility. It is very likely that Dark Core will try to retake this facility. They must fail.”

  “I understand sir.”

“You goddamn traitor! How dare you think that!” Inferno of Terror yelled at Medusa Pandora. She just got through mentioning that Lenkov and Omori is the founder.

“I should know for I am the only one who is old enough to remember him before he chose to disappear!” She snapped back.

“Well, regardless of what is the truth they still wanted our heads on a silver platter. And I for one know that once the monkey-fuckers starts to believe that Lenkov and Omori is the founder, Jason M. Idelle, than that is what they will want as well.” Dark Serpent said. He only said the founder’s name as to remind Inferno of Terror of the consequences of being wrong.

“We need Infernus now more than ever. For the monkey-fuckers are coming for us. We must strike back!” Medusa Pandora mentioned.

“Well we won’t know his fate until we learn of the fate of Captain Levine. And then we will learn if the theory on the blank slate SIN is real or not.” Inferno of Terror added.

“Speaking of which, it might explain why Captain Maxwell is treating Commander Ivey as the captain and not Levine.” Dark Serpent mentioned.

“Then what shall we do then?” Medusa Pandora asked.

“Let’s just wait until Levine brings us Infernus.” Inferno of Terror responded.

  “Agreed.” Dark Serpent added.

Apollo News, the largest and the oldest (going as far back 2006) Skotadian major news network, finally gotten around to talking about the events upon that world. Their motto has always been “Think the unthinkable” for it represented, as they have always claimed, to get people to question the propaganda of the day. But it has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for conspiracy theorists. In the beginning Skotadi like that for it caused the people to question legitimate news stories concerning the rise of Skotadi. And after they became the Frankenstein monster? Skotadi still didn’t care for no matter what they will always serve the interest of Skotadi. They, Apollo News, also have the audacity to turn certain conspiracy theories (the ones that makes them money) into a “religion.” They can then talk about the “news” (the new conspiracy theory [religion]) and how they are on the vanguard of “defeating propaganda” in an effort of spreading the “truth” which is “real news.” But they had competition.

First of all, in order to understand their so-call competition you have to understand how interchangeable the news media have always been. A news reporter works at one outlet than goes on to work at another. Skotadi one up everyone by making it global. And thus a Japanese news reporter goes to Venezuela to work. A Mexican new reporter goes to work at blog post up in Canada. And so on. This allowed Skotadi to “spread the faith” around the world. And thus, as Jason M. Idelle put it, “The truth have been bastardize down to being our slave.” He also stated, “It has been stated that the truth shall you free. But the darkness has rendered that hypocrisy. For those who seek it shall find shear madness. For the darkness gives no kindness. And in your hour of need. The truth shall not heed. Master of all we are. Seek not the stars let alone Mars. You shall not find what you seek. For your mind is too weak. The darkness is greater than all. For your God of truth has does fall.” To Skotadi there is no such thing as an independent media.

But what of the Skotadian military? They have been trained to shut their mind out of all forms of propaganda. They have been trained to be the most intensely loyal to Skotadi as well as to be overachievers. Hence their motto. If they are trained to be the best than that is a huge advantage for the propaganda arm of Skotadi.

Apollo News was doing what all other news outlets was doing. Trying to earn money at the same time trying to create some new form of a “religion” without it being too obvious. Even after Skotadi allowed all forms of media outlets to be independent, no matter what, even if they are they are trying to report upon the truth. In order to become successful all most succumb to the urge to sell their soul to the devil (the interests of Skotadi).

“Off the record?” Lenkov said to the news reporter back on Valkyrie so long ago.

“Yes of course.” The news reporter responded.

“The truth must be bastardize because the people cannot handle the truth anymore. I can not find a moment in human history were the people were mature enough to handle it.”

“That’s a very cynical view of human nature.”

“Nothing about human nature is anything other than cynical. Only when one finds true love does one truly escape the cynical part of human nature.”

“Oh . . . well . . . see there you go. True love saves the day.”

“No. How many people finds true love? Where no sacrifice is too great or too small for the one that you love. But the most painful sacrifice of them all must be one’s own selfish ego. How can one make such sacrifice when there are so much mistrust in this world? For all throughout human history it has been no different.”

The news reporter had no comment to what Lenkov said. How could she? Her job was based upon spreading mistrust. And yet the strange irony of it, that was Omori’s sister. It was actually one of the most entertaining part of Omori’s life as she would later recall. Her two younger sisters in that hellhole known as Valkyrie. With the middle age sister being the news reporter and the youngest being the camera operator. And that one had the greatest potential! And yet the four of them took their job seriously. Which is what got under their skin. Lenkov and Omori tried in vain to keep her sisters out of everything and they would figure out a way to undermine their efforts.

The news media loved their “freedom” from Skotadi and they loved to test it. And the upper echelons of Skotadi loved it because it spread confusion amongst the people. Not one single news media outlet could claim that their track record is free of spot or stain. Hell far even Lenkov and Omori had to grudgingly admit the “value” of the vultures. But that so-call value never had anything to do with the truth about Skotadi. So what does it mean when the vultures are talking about something that makes Skotadi look weak and of course, vulnerable?

The surviving members of Task Force ZH-3C just woke up to a new day and although they did not want to go on any more missions they knew that in order to prove that they are no loser team they must. They wanted to trust Maxwell’s judgment but he has been getting too intoxicated recently.

“So what do you think that we should expect?” Vaistll asked.

“Normally our mission would be over. But as for now who knows.” Taylor responded.

“I would agree. But with Dark Core and their plans if we don’t make some form of an attack than they will use it as pretext to wipe us out of existence.” Ramirez responded.

“What would either Lenkov and/or Omori have to say?” Vaistll asked.

“Ma’am . . . they would have said something like if you have to ask then there would be no point in having you around.” Ramirez responded.

“I concur. They were known to be like that.” Maria added.

“Oh. So in other words, shut up and get on with the mission.” Vaistll responded.

  “Something like that.” Maria responded.

“Do you think that they will ever come back?” Vaistll asked.

“To here? Carrying all the extra weight means that it would have taken them at least 300 years just to reach the Earth. If they try to come back here then they would have been detected at s
ome point. Chances are they are so far away that by now they would be near the Central Bulge either in the Outer Arm or probably the Scutum-Centaurus Arm.” Ramirez responded.

“I concur for if they are in the Scutum-Centaurus Arm it would take them 300 years to get here.” Maria added. (Omicron Ultra is located at the edge of the galaxy.)

“You know . . . it’s strange that you should bring that up, about them being there. That gamma-ray burster gun was pointed in that direction.” Taylor added.

“Then I guess they are there then. One hundred and fifty years from the nearest human outpost.” Maria, sounding a bit dejected, mentioned.

“You’re trying to figure out a way to resist me! Aren’t you!? You fucking piece of shit!” Infernus angrily said to Levine.

  “No.”

“Bullshit! I never sleep but you must! And when you sleep . . . I am in control of your body! I could kill someone and make everyone think it was you!”

  “That would ruin your plan.”

“You monkey-fucker you! Just you wait!” Infernus yelled at him.

That night as Captain Levine slept (he was awake for 36 hours trying his best not to go to sleep) he finally let his guard down. (He forgot to make certain that Infernus would not do anything to his SIN.) Infernus simply used Levine’s SIN to keep him in a perpetual state of “sleep walking.” A trance like state if you will. There were times in which Levine “woke up” but it didn’t last long. For Infernus was getting better at keeping Levine in the perpetual state of mental enslavement.

“Sir I really need your help on dealing with these captains.” Maxwell, out of desperation, was asking the Governor of Golden Hyperion.

“Can you elaborate more?” The Governor asked.

“I have strong reason to believe that Dark Core may unleash some new type of clone or other forms of weapon upon this world.”
