Hammer: M.C. Biker Romance (Great Wolves Motorcycle Club Book 13)
Page 15
“I’d do anything for you, babe, anything. And you made this happen, not me.” I wanted her to understand how much I loved her. I wanted her to feel safe, to be safe. Daniella and the M.C. were my world and protecting them was all I cared about.
Daniella nodded and I kissed her face where the tears had rolled down her cheeks. They were salt mixed with sweet.
“So, now that I have you alone,” I fumbled for a second, feeling awkward and nervous. Whatever I had practiced saying had flown out of my brain.
“I have to put you down for this.” I carefully set her down.
“What are you doing,” she asked me, but she knew.
I got down on one knee and presented a small box.
“Hammer?”
“Daniella Moore, I can’t promise I’ll ever have regular hours or a regular job, but I can promise I’ll do everything I can to make you happy. Including sitting there for five hours while you roll yarn. I love you and want you to marry me.”
“Shit.” She said as I handed her the box.
“This is a Jules design! It’s oh my God!” She said as she gazed at the ring, I’d had Jules custom create for her finger.
“It is, so you good with the marrying me thing?”
“Yes!”
“Put it on.” She slid the ring on her finger and I was so glad I’d had Jules make it. The ring was perfect on Daniella’s hand.
She bent down and put my face in her hands.
“I can’t promise I will ever know how to cook. But I will do everything I can to make you happy. And you’ll always have a warm blanket. I love you.”
She put her lips on mine this time. We both stood, I drew her into a hug.
“Look, I’ll keep working on teaching you to cook, you keep working on teaching me to what is it? The Double V stitch, right? Is that what the damn thing’s called?” Her recent attempts to teach me how to crochet had failed miserably. My hands were too big and my patience too short.
“V Double. And how about you just handle the cooking, and I handle all the sewing.”
“Brilliant.”
I pulled her body in tight to mine. It was sweet, soft, and she fit. Daniella was the missing piece to my heart and soul. I didn’t know I was even looking, I didn’t know how much I was missing, but I was so damn glad I had found her.
