“Better safe than sorry.” I wave a hand vaguely through the air. “We’ll have to take dinner with us though.”

“Is that real medical advice?” Will lifts an eyebrow.

“No. That’s ‘this is my bloody honeymoon and I need my husband in my bed’ advice.”

“Yes, ma’am.” Will nods seriously. “You’re not regretting it, then?” he says after a pause, his voice too quiet.

“Marrying the man of my dreams? Why would I?” My eyebrows arch, as I watch Will’s eyes searching mine.

“I’m sorry, baby. I ruined our night.”

“No, you didn’t. In fact, I’m looking forward to seeing how you...err...cope...with not being able to use your hands so well.” Will gasps and grabs my wrist. His face briefly screws up, and he glances down at his bandages. “See.” I shrug.

“Move your arse, wife. I need you in bed and naked.”

“As long as you feed us first, hubby, I’m all yours.”

When I’ve fed Will, bite by bite, his steak fajita in bed, refusing to let him use his hands, he’s looking at me like he’s concocting some kind of wicked plan.

“What?” I ask, sucking my thumb clean.

“Well, I’m just thinking. Maybe there should be a time limit on you being allowed to use your hands too. Even the playing field, so to speak.”

I tilt my head, regarding him, and then crawl up his outstretched legs, pushing my flat palms over his thighs. “These hands?” I ask, my voice low and bedroomy as they reach his hips.

He nods, watching my face intently. “But then I couldn’t do this.” I slide my fingers down over his crotch. I pull his fly open and stroke his growing cock with one finger. “Or this.” I wiggle his jeans and boxers over his hips and off, letting them fall to the floor. “Or this,” I whisper as I stand, keeping my gaze locked on his, and strip. Slowly. Teasingly. The hotter his eyes get, and the more he looks like he’s straining to touch me, the slower I go.

“Eva...” Will breathes, swallowing hard. He reaches out for me, and I shake my head.

  “No hands, baby.”

“Come here, Wild Thing, and I promise you I won’t be using my fucking hands.” His tongue slowly licks his bottom lip and I give in.

  Chapter 17

Will is in the shower, having wrapped clingfilm around his hands. So, when the doorbell rings the following morning, I slip on a sundress and make my way to the door to open it. And freeze.

“Mrs Hunter.” The man’s damson eyes hit the floor, before he looks back at my face. “I need to see my son.”

“Not a good idea,” I tell him sharply, pulling the door shut behind me.

“Maybe we should let him decide that?”

“Maybe. If you don’t like your teeth. Believe me when I tell you, you should leave. Right now.”

“I just want to talk to him. He’s my son...When you have kids, you’ll understand—”

“Understand? Understand? What I understand, Mr Hunter, is that a grown-arse man walked out on his son and left him to deal with the consequences. A child! You walked away and left your child! What I understand is I would walk through hell for my child, and I’d do it with a smile on my face if it saved her an ounce of pain. So don’t you dare tell me about what I might fucking understand!

“But hey, you want to find out for yourself? Be my guest. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. And don’t go thinking you don’t deserve every punch he lands. Because you do. And then some.”

“I did it for him,” he says so quietly I can barely hear him.

“I’m sorry? What?” I scoff incredulously.

  “I was an addict. A gambler. I...”

“And I’m sorry. I am. But you took your shit and dumped it on your son when you should have grown a pair. It was a choice. One you made, repeatedly. You’re looking for sympathy in the wrong place if you’re looking at me.” He stares at me open-mouthed for a good five seconds.

“You’re right.” He sighs. “You know, I’ve spent a fortune on therapy over the years, and you’re the first person to ever give it to me straight. So...thanks...I think.”

“Anytime.” I fold my arms, waiting for him to turn around and leave.

“Hey, can you at least tell me your name?” I narrow my eyes but answer him anyway.

  “Eva.”

“Could I...maybe...could I meet my grandchild one day, Eva?” He nods at my growing belly. I raise my eyebrows.

“Which one?” He gasps. I scowl. “Will is an amazing father. He is strong and fun and kind and caring, and I would love to have met the woman who taught him that, ‘cause it sure as hell wasn’t you. But, if he decides that one day you can meet his kids, that’s his choice. Because I know he’ll do what’s best for them. That he has them. That he’ll never let them down.”

“Never.” Will’s voice is right behind me. I close my eyes and pivot on the spot to face him. I peek up, and he’s smiling softly. “My wild thing.”

“Hi,” I squeak. “I thought you were in the shower.”

“I was. Then I heard my wife tearing strips off someone.” His eyes flick up and his jaw twitches. “I’ve got this, baby.” He raises my hand and kisses my fingers. My anxious eyes search his, and he nods.

I push up on tiptoes and kiss his lips lightly. “I know you do.”

I walk inside, trying not to hover. After a minute, I head outside to the beach. It’s too tempting. I need to give him some space to handle it. Crap, I hope Will doesn’t punch his father! His hands are already fucked.

After about ten minutes of sitting (or fidgeting) and straining my ears for any sign of a fight, I decide I need to go for a walk, so I shrug off my sundress, leaving me in just bikini bottoms. I head to the shore and turn left, walking out towards the vast expanse of coastline.

I move slowly, watching my feet glide through the crystal-clear water. It’s warm, like a bath that’s been left to cool slightly. The sun is shining high above my head, scattering its diamonds across the water and baking my already tanned skin a deeper shade of bronze. I move out a little further into the water, halfway up my calves, and keep walking. It’s harder to move like this. I raise my feet higher until I’m almost marching. And stop.

Oh! My hands fly to my belly, and my mouth jumps up in a wide grin. “Hi, baby,” I whisper. She moves again. “You like this? Marching? Well, if you think you’re joining the bloody SAS, you can think again!”

I sit down on the sand, the water lapping against my body, and it feels like the baby is dancing. “My little mermaid. Maybe you’ll be a dancer, just like your daddy?”

I stay where I am, gazing out towards the horizon with my baby doing summersaults inside me—she’s enjoying the ocean as much as I am—until I hear Will calling out my name.

“Hi!” I wave at him in the distance, and he jogs towards us.

“What are you—? Are you okay?” Will’s voice is anxious when he reaches my side.

“She likes it.” He looks at me like I’ve gone slightly mad. I roll my eyes and shake my head. “I can feel her moving.” He gasps and puts his hand on my belly. “You might not feel anything yet. But she can hear you now.”

“She can?” I nod and lean back against him when he shifts around behind me, cradling me between his raised knees.

“Hi, baby. It’s Daddy. Are you okay in there?”

She wiggles in response, and I grin.

“So...? How was that?” I feel Will’s whole rib cage expand, pushing me forward and back down as he lets out a breath.

“Overdue.” I turn my head to look at his face. “Hard,” he admits, quieter than before.

“I’m so proud of you, baby.”

  “Wh—? Why?”

“I just am.” I smile and reach up a hand to bring his face to mine. I kiss his jaw and settle back against him, getting comfy. “Will you see him again?”

“I don’t know, Eva. I said he could stay for the rest of his holiday...but...” His voice trails away, and he swallows hard. I glance at h
is pained expression.

“Give it time, Will.” He nods, and I have to ask, “Do you want to? See him?” He frowns, and I change tack. “In a perfect world, what would happen now?”

“I have no idea.” I swivel around and face forward, my eyes on the horizon.

“Maybe you’d go for a pint with your dad? Get to know him. Lay ghosts to rest. Heal the years of hurt he’s caused you? Or would you knock him out and spit on him?”

Will half chuckles. “I...I think...I’d like to try. He asked me to. I want to understand, but...” I spin around on my knees and grab his face. I plant my mouth on his and kiss him until he groans and slips his hand inside my bikini bottoms.

  “Take me to bed, husband.”

“We won’t make it.” He lifts himself up, pulls down his trunks, and then yanks my swimwear to the side, his mouth on my neck as his fingers circle over my body.

“You want to understand why. Why he did what he did?” I ask softly, my hips swaying with his movements and the ocean waves.

“Yes.” My right hand falls to Will’s lap, and I wrap my hand around his cock, lightly stroking.

“You want to get to know the man who gave you such beautiful eyes?”

  “Eva!”

“You’re a grown man now. Capable of understanding. You need to rationalise it. For you. For yourself. But you have to understand one more thing, and then we’re going to make love, husband.”

“What!” Will yells, his teeth clenched.

“You might share some DNA, but you are nothing alike.” Will gasps and pulls my head sharply down to his, and I lower myself onto his straining cock with a satisfied sigh. “Mmmm.”

“This was a bad idea. I want to fuck you so hard.”

  “Yes!” I laugh. Yes, please!

  “The baby.”

“Is fine. Please. Please, Will.” He growls and lifts me, flipping me over onto my knees. He yanks down my bikini bottoms, while I pant and look at the sand between my hands, bracing myself. I feel him move in close, his cock nudging at me from behind as he takes hold of my hips. I jolt forward as he slams into me. He retreats and I brace my arms and press back, ready for more.

Will places a palm between my shoulder blades and encourages me down. I follow his direction and lower my top half to the sand, my cheek resting against the soft, wet surface.

He nudges my knees wider and lifts my hips higher. And slams into me again. I cry out in pure joy. Oh, God! Yes!

He doesn’t stop. Slow, steady. Hard and deep. Again and again. On and on. He picks up the pace but loses none of the power. “Baby, are you close?”

I groan and press back into him, wanting more. “Please, don’t stop.” It’s bloody heavenly.

Will’s hips pump faster and I could cry. It feels so bloody good. But when he growls in that way, I almost do cry, because he’s coming. And I’m not. I want so much more!

  “Are you close?”

  “No! Please! Will!”

“Uuuugh!” He groans and pours himself inside me, panting and juddering.

“Stay there.” He growls when I start to move. And then he slides under me, on his back, and guides my hips down over his face.

“Oh!” I cry out as he nips my clit and slides two fingers inside me. But when he adds a third and thrusts, his tongue and teeth teasing my clit, my fists close on handfuls of sand, my mouth hanging open and my body begging for more.

He wraps his free arm around my bum and pulls me down, keeping me locked against him. My hips grind and Will continues to thrust and tantalise, stroking my G-spot and taking me closer.

“Will!” I yell as my body starts to shake. I feel his smile, but he doesn’t stop or let up at all. In fact, I think he just added another finger. I call out again and turn my face to bury it in the sand. Will holds me tighter as I start to wriggle, trying to escape the agony of ecstasy that’s heading my way.

He sucks hard and licks lightly, his fingers never stilling, and I explode like an atom bomb.

I roll off Will and throw my arm over my eyes. My body is tingling. My skin is singing.

And he wants more! He nudges my legs wide and kisses my inner thigh. He runs one finger lightly up my centre, pausing for a second on my throbbing clit. He kisses his way up to my sensitive breast and takes my nipple softly between his lips, flicking his tongue over the point. “Will!” I jolt. He sucks on the sensitive bud and kisses between my breasts.

“I can’t leave my wife unsatisfied. What kind of husband would that make me?” He moves across to the opposite side. “I want to make you come like this.” He takes one nipple in his mouth, and his thumb circles the other one. “But I don’t know if I can stay out of you for much longer. Eva, that was the sexiest thing, ever.” I giggle.

“Then please don’t. I want you inside me.”

  “You on top this time.”

Will guides me over him and I sink down onto his hard length, his fingers toying mercilessly with my breasts. I glance at his hands, vaguely aware that they need redressing.

He pinches and pulls at my nipples as I ride and grind my clit against him. It’s sensory overload. I cry out as the feeling builds. That runaway train that only Will can control.

“That’s it, baby. Come.” His voice is gruff and low, like he’s right behind me on that train and I let go, into the path of an oncoming collision.

After a few minutes of catching our breaths, tangled up together on the sand, the waves lapping at us, Will stands and pulls me, very unwillingly, to my feet. He bends, sweeps an arm behind my knees, and wades out a little way into the ocean. “Let’s wash the sand off a bit before we do that again.” He grins at my wide-mouthed expression and dunks me in the water. Again?

  Chapter 18

I can’t believe it’s been two weeks already. Two weeks of being Mrs Will Hunter. Two weeks of sun, sea, and sex in this luxurious tropical paradise. And we still have one more to go. If this is what our marriage will be like, I’ll die a happy, happy woman.

We’ve run into Will’s father a couple of times. Michael. Apparently. Will even accepted the drink he offered him. I supposed that he didn’t really see it as something from his dad, since this place is all-inclusive and he owns it.

So, I am very surprised when Michael stands as we enter the casual dining terrace for breakfast and offers us a seat, and Will takes it.

Will pulls out my chair and I sit. He kisses my bare shoulder and takes the seat beside mine.

“Morning, Will. Eva.” Michael smiles, and I can’t help looking for similarities. They definitely have the same eyes.

  “Morning.”

“I’m glad you could make it.” Make it? This was planned? Woah! I glance at Will. He’s tense.

“Me too,” I tell him. I am. I am glad that Will is ready for this. I reach across and rest my hand on Will’s knee. His muscles are rock hard. Tensed.

  “Avocado toast, baby?”

“Yep. I don’t know what they do to it, but it’s bloody amazing. I could eat it by the bucketful.”

“It’s that good?” Michael scans the menu, his face pulled to one side as though he wouldn’t eat it if he were starving.

“It really is. But then, there’s not much that I wouldn’t eat at the moment.” His eyes meet mine, an uncertain smile flickering across his lips. “February.” I answer his unspoken question.

  “And this is your... second?”

“We have two girls. And this one,” Will says, resting his hand on my belly. “I know, I know...it might be a boy.” He gives me a cheeky look. “But it’s not.” He leans in and pecks my lips lightly.

The conversation begins stunted. Awkward. But the longer we sit, the easier it becomes. Will starts to relax, leaning back in his chair and sipping his coffee, and Michael looks happier too.

When I’m finished eating, way before the men, I reach for my phone in my bag and raise my eyes to Will’s, asking if it’s okay. He smiles and inclines his head, just a little.

  “Mae and Summer. Mae
looks like her dad. Summer’s not so lucky.” I push my phone across the table, the screensaver illuminated and two cheeky little faces beaming at their grandfather.

“Summer is as beautiful as her mum,” Will interjects. “She could be your double.”

Michael places his cutlery down and grasps my phone in both of his hands, his nose just a few inches from the screen like he wants to dive in and grab them. “I have two granddaughters?”

Will draws a deep breath. “So far.”

  Michael laughs. “So far.”

“Would you like to come over to the villa later? We’re having a barbecue.” Are we? I hold my breath and wait. Michael looks like he might cry, and Will looks like he can’t believe he just said that.

“I would love that. Thank you,” Michael says quietly, his breath shallow and shaky. He’s waiting for Will to change his mind.

“Good.” Will nods firmly and stabs the last piece of omelette on his plate with his fork, and it quickly disappears, chased down with the last dregs of his coffee. “We’ll see you there. Around twelve?”

“I’ll be there,” Michael confirms, and Will stands.

“Let’s go, baby.” Will holds out his hand, and I take it.

“See you later.” I smile at Michael as I allow Will to help me up.

“We need to pop back to the villa.”

“Okay.” Will and I wander slowly along the meandering pathways, in the direction of our private beach house. As it comes into view, I can see that the front door is wide open. What the hell? I glance at Will, and he flashes me a smile. Okay...?

And then I see them. “Muma!” Summer squeals, and rushes at me like a hurricane, closely followed by Mae. “Hi!” I squeal back and crouch down, my arms open wide and ready to catch them.

“Oh my God! You’ve grown!” I squeeze and kiss them, again and again, tears welling in my stupid pregnant eyes.

“Hola, Señora Hunter. Un buen lugar que tienes aquí." My head snaps up, and Bells is walking towards me, a wide smile on her face, Gary at her side, their fingers intertwined.
