Adriana B: What was the first thing you noticed about Four when you first met?

Ever: Those big brown eyes of hers. I knew the moment I looked into them that she was going to ruin me if I didn’t ruin her first.

Sabrina D.C.: Vaughn, we know you are in love with Tyra. What are you waiting for?

  Vaughn: Better circumstances.

Carla D.C.: Four, let’s play Kiss, Marry, and Kill between Jamie, Wren, and Vaughn!

Four: Hmm…I’d kiss Vaughn on the cheek because he doesn’t seem to get much affection at home, I’d marry Wren if Lou doesn’t claw my eyes out first, and I’d kill Jamie because I’ve already planned the whole thing out.

Jasmine S: Jamie, why are you still chasing Barbie when she treats you like a non-factor?

Jamie: They tell me the best things in life aren’t free, and I love a challenge.

Tamara M: Tyra, will you except Vaughn if he has to take over for his father?

Tyra: It’s not something I lose sleep over. There’s nothing Franklin Rees can do or say to make his son ever fill his shoes.

I hate writing these things because it’s always at the last minute so I’m sure I end up forgetting someone who played a vital role in helping me finish this book. It took many ears for my ranting, space for my pacing, and patience to talk me off the ledge to get to the end, so I’m raising my glass to all of you right now.

Mama, I’m sure no one has listened to me whine about how doomed I am more than you have and no one has shown more patience or been more supportive. I couldn’t have asked for a better mother and friend.

To all my friends and family who waited a week for me to respond to a text when you read this book, I hope you see that all the neglect was worth it. If not, lie to me. What are friends for?

Rogena and Colleen, no one has shown better resilience than the two of you. Thank you for your patience, kindness, and most importantly, your tremendous editing skills. I’m sure I’ll forget everything I’ve learned by the time I write the next book. I hope you’re ready.

Amanda, pregnant throughout the whole designing process, and I never once noticed when you were cranky…because you’re always grumpy. Your amazing skills more than make up for it though. The cover and all the marketing that came with it were an absolute hit, and no one could have captured this book better.

Happy Anniversary, Stacey! Nope, I didn’t forget. I’m assuming I’ll drive you crazy with my million and one changes before and probably after I hit publish. This is my ‘thank you in advance’ and ‘please don’t fire me.’ No one can make this as beautiful inside as it is on the out better than you can.

Tijuana, fear of being whipped to death came in handy. If it weren’t for you asking me when I’ll finish every other day, I’d probably still be writing. Peer pressure really works! Thank you so much for listening to my sixty-seven ten-second voice messages and letting me bounce ideas off of you. Most importantly, thank you for being honest with me when I needed it most. Beta reading isn’t always an enjoyable job, but you do it with finesse.

Sarah, I’m going to call you the Grim Reaper because it’s just too clever not to. Sarah Grim Sentz…get it? Also, you were the one standing over my shoulder holding a gun to my head while Tijuana screamed “Finish the fucking book!” If you haven’t seen that meme, you really should. It’s awesome.

Sunny, Charleigh, the rose to my prose. When I think of whom I can depend on, whom I can trust, and whom I can run to, I always think of you. Thank you for being the douche to all my baggage. Ew…wait…that didn’t sound right.

Reiderville, the reason I’m willing to spill so much sweat, tears and blood, thank you for sticking around through all my ramblings, randomness, and ridiculousness. You are at the heart of my inspiration because you challenge me to be better than I was the last time. Your posts and comments make each day a little brighter.

And to anyone I didn’t mention, I must have said ‘thank you’ a thousand times because that’s how much you’ve helped me. Thank you.
