Corviticus University: Void
Page 16
Narcissistic people, manipulative people, they weren’t always bad. No one was one hundred percent good or bad. I knew that, but just because they had a few good moments, didn’t mean they weren’t dicks. The good didn’t outweigh the bad sometimes. And I knew I’d always focused on the good, even when he was hitting me.
I unknowingly reached down under the hem of my shirt to touch the burn scars on my stomach. Some people were clearly evil though.
As my fingers brushed over the scars, I felt myself falling back into the void.
I stood in the darkness, waiting as the scene flickered to life a short distance from me.
My blood ran cold as I saw Brett, lying in a hospital bed, completely unresponsive.
The scene revealed more, doctors and nurses around him.
“Time of death, nine-fifteen am,” the doctor called it.
I just blinked, a strange sense of relief washing over me as I knew exactly what was happening.
This was in the not too distant future, and I sighed as the scene faded away and I was pulled from the void.
Brett was dying, and in only a few months, he’d draw his last breath.
‘Good,’ Marcus growled, having heard me while he was at uni.
‘What from?’ Lucas asked, while Ollie had also stopped studying to listen in to the new development.
‘Prostate cancer,’ I thought to them.
And all the underlying worry and fear I’d had about him, it felt like it was slipping away. He’d cause me so much fear and pain growing up, horrible nightmares plaguing me even when I moved here. To think of it, I hadn’t really had bad nightmares for a while, except for Derek’s one.
Brett was no longer able to hurt me, he’d never hurt anyone again.
‘Karma’s a bitch,’ Marcus smirked.
He was right.
He was getting his just desserts. All those painful memories of his abuse, they weren’t going to go away, but knowing he got what was coming to him, it was soothing. It was justice, in a way.
I looked back down at my textbook, willing myself to focus. I wanted to get this assessment done so I could focus on some other things. Like my powers. Or using the new camera Lucas had given me. I’d only played around with it a bit, but I wanted to give it more of a go.
‘We’ll be heading out to get the pizza soon,’ Lucas informed me.
I’d probably have a shower while they were out then.
Yeah, I could use it. A nice warm shower sounded appealing, something to wash away my worries.
As if that was possible.
“So what are you guys doing tomorrow night when you see your family?” Lucas asked as we sat in the living room with some more ‘Game of Thrones’ about to start.
I swallowed my bite of pizza before answering. “We’re going out to dinner, they’re going to grab me and take me to an Italian Restaurant at Caloundra. Jerome’s I think they said.”
“Oh nice! Jerome’s is quite good,” Skip said through a mouthful of his pizza.
“We’ve all been there, even Marcus, when we were younger,” Lucas explained.
“Eating out with ‘wolves though,” Skip clicked his tongue.
“What? What’s that mean?” I frowned.
“They ‘wolf it down’ quite literally sometimes. Didn’t you notice how they ate when they were here?” Lucas chuckled.
I hadn’t taken much notice, but now that he pointed it out, I did recall them being a bit… animalistic. Not horrible, but very fast eaters, and sometimes messy.
“Maybe,” I murmured.
“I’m sure it’ll be fine,” Ollie reassured me as he shuffled closer to me on the lounge.
“Of course,” I shrugged. It didn’t bother me at all.
“You guys ready to start?” Skip asked as he held the remote up, the theme song playing as the menu showed up on the TV screen.
I nodded as I bit into another slice, warming as Ollie rested one hand on my thigh as he ate.
It was such a small gesture, but it made my heart flutter at his sweetness.
I knew in his mind, he just wanted to be close to me, he wanted me to always know he was there for me and supported me in everything.
And it meant the world.
We devoured our pizzas in silence as we watched through an episode of ‘Game of Thrones'. By the time the episode ended, I was snuggled into Ollie’s side with a hot milo in hand thanks to Lucas.
He’d magicked everything, not getting up from his position on the other lounge with Skip to make them.
“Want to watch another?” Skip asked as he paused the credits.
“I really should finish my assessment,” I groaned, not wanting to move from my comfy position in Ollie’s side.
“We could study together?” Ollie suggested. “I’m still working on the assessment too.”
“We can’t share answers though,” I reminded him. I would not get caught for cheating.
“No, but we can discuss things,” Ollie rolled his eyes.
I stared up into his face, the slight stubble looking quite hot on him. He normally kept himself clean-shaven, and it suited him. But this new look was quite cute. He must’ve forgotten to shave this morning, something he did every morning.
“You’ll have to get up first,” Ollie murmured as he kissed the top of my head sweetly.
I sighed, begrudgingly climbing off the lounge and stretching a little.
I felt all eyes on me as my old pajama top pulled up to reveal my navel.
I just chuckled and shook my head. Men. They couldn’t help themselves.
They’d all seen me naked too.
A glance at Skip revealed that he had not forgotten that at all as his eyes travelled over me, undressing me as he clenched his jaw.
Well, I’d better make my getaway from this before it got too heated.
I really did need to do my assessment.
I headed up to my room with my hot milo in hand as Ollie followed after me.
“Study, okay?” I said firmly as I entered my room.
“Of course,” Ollie grinned sheepishly.
I just smirked knowingly. He was hoping for more than just study.
I shook my head as I sat down on my bed, moving my textbook and assessment to sit before me.
Ollie disappeared for a minute and returned with his book and assessment, pouncing onto the end of the bed and sitting cross-legged.
I was grateful I’d set my milo down on the bedside table, otherwise I’d have been wearing it now.
“So, what are you up to on your assessment?” Ollie asked as he focused on the stapled pages for his assessment.
We both had printout copies for us to draft our answers with.
I settled against my pillows propped up behind me as I began going over what I’d done so far, and Ollie discussed the questions with me. We flicked through our textbooks and jotted notes from our classes as we continued on our assessment, and before I knew it, hours had drifted by.
I sighed as I finalized my last answer, satisfied that I’d gotten all the questions answered to my full ability. I’d transfer it to a digital version later to submit via email.
Ollie was still finishing up his last question as I set my textbook and papers down on the floor beside the bed and stretched my back.
It was stiff from leaning forward over the textbook for too long.
“You need to stop doing that,” Ollie murmured.
I dropped my eyes to his, which were dark as they watched me arch my back.
“Why?” I asked softly, deliberately stretching more so that my shirt rode up more.
“Ally,” Ollie groaned.
“We finished our assessments,” I chuckled lightly as I slid my hands down my sides.
I loved his sharp intake of breath as I caught the hem of my shirt and pulled it up and over my head in one fluid movement.
Those amber eyes were glued to my breasts, and I bit my lip as I dropped my shirt onto my textbook.
“Or do you stil
l want to study more?” I asked, my voice husky and low.
He swallowed as he dragged his eyes to meet mine, and I could see his desire evident in those gorgeous eyes.
“Not at all,” he finally said as he pushed his textbook to the floor with his papers and scrambled towards me.
I squealed as he grabbed my legs and pulled me down the bed under him, but my playful cries were swallowed up as those sweet lips caught mine.
I relaxed into the kiss, loving how soft he was with his kissing. His tongue trailed over my lip teasingly, and I allowed him to deepen it.
His hands ran down my sides, and I quivered at his warm fingertips dancing over my skin.
I moaned as he explored my mouth while his hands explored my body, trailing over my stomach and up my arms.
He finally broke and found my breasts with his hands, toying with my nipples as I arched into him and moaned.
He broke the kiss, and I helped him tear off his own shirt.
I wanted his shorts off too, and my hands dropped to tug at his waistband.
“If mine are coming off, so are yours,” he chuckled.
“Of course,” I purred, my fingers sliding into his waistband. His arousal was straining against his shorts, and I wanted to let it loose and touch it.
Ollie moaned as he saw my naughty thoughts, and his hands trailed down my sides to work my pajama pants off me.
In seconds, we were both naked on the bed, our bodies entwined.
“You’re so beautiful,” Ollie murmured as he stared into my eyes.
I could feel the utter devotion and tenderness for me coming off of him in waves.
I’m sure he could feel my same response.
“And you are gorgeous,” I chuckled as I leaned up to capture his lips.
His length pushed into my belly as he kissed me, and I slid my hands down his chest, tracing patterns across his toned stomach before finally dancing around his soft pubic hair.
I teased him, my fingers fluttering around but not quite touching his twinging arousal as his kisses grew hungry.
It wasn’t until he was growling in my mouth that I finally wrapped my hand around his length, pumping it softly as he moaned.
I felt Lucas watching us, getting turned on alongside us. So was Marcus, who was a little displeased with it.
A quick double-take revealed he was more displeased simply because he was with his friends working on the game after their class together. He’d flitted outside and into the shadows as he felt the arousal set in.
I did want to tease the hell out of him while he was at uni, but I’d been planning it a different way.
‘You little minx,’ Marcus growled, moaning as he saw my devious thoughts of pleasuring myself while he was at class. I’d wanted to see if he could bear it or not.
“That’s naughty,” Ollie chuckled as he kissed the corner of my mouth. My hand slid away from his length as he shimmied down my body to begin teasing my nipples with soft nips and suckles.
I closed my eyes, relishing the waves of heat coursing through my body as my nether region throbbed.
I gasped as his fingers found their way to my folds, testing my wetness and diving into my slit with ease.
My mind was filled with the arousal of my guys, and I found myself drawn into Lucas’ mind.
What I found only made me moan loudly.
Lucy was in Skip’s room, and Skip was giving in to his need as he teased her before sliding his engorged length into her.
‘Fuck,’ Ollie growled, having been sucked into it too.
Well, this was definitely interesting.
I cried out as Ollie’s fingers were replaced with his own length, slipping in with ease as I trembled with delight.
And as we watched in on Lucy and Skip through her eyes, feeling her sensations, all amplified with warlock magic, Ollie matched Skip’s movements and pace.
I clung to him as he pounded into me, and the combination of the show in my mind and the mental sensations along with my own sent me hurtling over the incredible climatic edge with breakneck speed.
Lucy cried out at the same time, and Skip groaned and slammed into her hard two more times before he came as well.
Ollie couldn’t fight his own orgasm as it tore through him, sending extra waves of sheer pleasure crashing over me.
He managed to litter my neck in kisses as he rode out the waves with us, Lucy still riding her high in our minds.
And then I was snorting as Marcus cursed, my chest heaving as I gasped between giggles.
Someone had cum in his pants.
Good luck hiding that back with his friends.
‘You guys suck,’ he grumbled, but I knew he’d enjoyed the moment despite the penalty.
“He better be careful, the school is magicked,” Ollie reminded me in his sweet, soft voice as he kissed my earlobe.
I just chuckled as Marcus groaned and flitted home.
It’d take him a few moments, but I knew he’d just change and head straight back to finish with the guys.
At least he’d had a good show tonight.
Ollie rolled us onto our sides so I was snuggled into his chest.
“I’m so glad you came here and found us,” he murmured as he pressed his lips to my forehead and wrapped his arms around me tightly.
“So am I,” I murmured as I closed my eyes, listening to the steady beat of his heart.
It was the perfect sound to lull me to sleep.
Thursday morning was a struggle to focus at uni, although I did manage to keep myself on task in the morning lab classes. We didn’t see the others at lunch, since Skip was doing his full day of carpentry work and Lucas was doing his own studies from home or whatever.
Instead, we had an unexpected visitor.
I sat with Ollie under the fig tree, leaning up against the trunk like Lucas normally did as I ate my wrap.
“I’ll come visit you at work tomorrow if you’d like, I wouldn’t mind grabbing a burger for lunch,” Ollie stated as he bit into his sausage roll.
“Sure,” I smiled before sipping my orange juice.
“Oliver.”
Ollie choked on his mouthful of food as he turned towards the voice. I instantly knew who it was due to our bond, and my shoulders rose defensively.
“Rebecca,” Oliver sputtered as he eyed his sister. She was wearing an expensive sapphire blouse and matching shorts, and her mousey brown hair was done up in a bun as she scowled at her brother.
“Should you really be spending so much time with a halfling? You’re already the laughing stock of our family,” Rebecca sighed, rolling her eyes in frustration as she held her fancy handbag out to the side. Her make-up was a little over the top with the vibrant green eyeshadow and serious contouring, not to mention the blazing red nail-polish on those long, fake nails.
“Allison isn’t just some halfling,” he instantly spat back.
I could feel his agitation growing with his sister.
“Sure seems like one, pixie/wolf, right?” she mused, eyeing me carefully as she read my aura.
I hated the disgusted look she was giving me.
“Don’t you have someone’s face to cake?” I growled softly. “Oh, wait, that’s right. You’re falling behind in your studies,” I smirked.
Her scowl darkened as she turned up her nose.
“I’ll have you know that it’s not easy juggling being one of the most adored girls in town while getting a degree,” she fluttered those long, fake eyelashes.
“Qualification. You’re only studying a certificate, not a degree,” Ollie ground out.
“Whatever,” she shrugged. “Daddy will help me pass it.”
I felt the wave of fury rolling off Ollie at this remark, and Bec just grinned, noting how she’d pushed the right button.
“I hear your freak of a girlfriend has been giving poor Glenda some grief. She better be careful, Glenda might want to get some justice handed out for her silly little magic tricks,” Bec cocked her head at us.
“Glenda needs to learn some manners, just like you,” I said as I stood up, hating how she was staring down at us.
Ollie was quick to shoot to his feet too.
“Oh please,” Bec scoffed. “I did have a reason for coming over here. Normally I’d stay well away from this walking joke, but mother has… asked… if I could inform you of the upcoming charity show. You may hear of it from that gay little warlock friend of yours, but she wants you to be well aware that neither of you are welcome, and if any of you show up, security will have you out on your arses,” she sneered.
I knew instantly from Ollie that their mother hadn’t asked, she’d demanded Bec speak to him, probably with some sort of threat of allowance drop if she didn’t.
The thought of her having an allowance only pissed me off more. Ollie was surviving on an inheritance from his grandmother right now, since his curse couldn’t allow him to work.
“She’s banning Lucas Brady from her charity show?” Ollie said in disbelief.
“She only wants real, true supes to be there,” Bec shrugged. “She just wanted me to give you the heads up.”
And with that, Bec turned and strode off, swaying her hips and making me cringe.
She rejoined her group of friends, all laughing and talking, all looking like they were all studying bloody beauty. Typical.
“What a bitch,” I murmured.
“I know. Honestly, she gets it from my mother,” Ollie sighed.
“She’s that bad too?” I asked, but instantly saw the flashes of memories. She was a nasty parent to grow up with, yelling and cursing them out for simply playing as children. Their father was the softer parent, always taking the time to show them they were loved. His mother was too focused on building her status in the community with charity events and shows, always putting her social status over everything, including her family.
“The bad memories outweigh the good by a long shot. Sometimes, I wonder if I’d have been kicked out if it had only been my father. I know he was just trying to keep the peace as best he could,” Ollie sighed.
My heart squeezed for him, and I took a step closer to wrap my arms around him.
“I know they’re your true family, and nothing can change that. But you’ve got all of us now, your new family,” I reminded him as I kissed his cheek.
