The Alpha's Mage

He shed his clothes, piling them next to Knox’s, and then climbed over the alpha and into bed. Even in sleep, Knox reached for him, tugging him closer and wrapping Lorcan securely in his arms. Lorcan let himself be manhandled, rolling onto his side so Knox could spoon against his back. But he was too wired to sleep, his mind full of ideas and questions.
There was so much he didn’t know. And so much the pack needed. From the basics like food and shelter, to the ability to control their shifts and have more cubs. A new alpha line, so that their pack would have a future. For the first time, he could see clearly the limitations of his magic now, tied as it was to Knox. There were things the pack needed that he couldn’t provide. Like his alpha, he could feel every living inch of the boundary that protected them. But protection from the world outside wasn’t enough. The pack needed to be a part of that world, like Maken Pack, like Drogon. Which meant they needed more mages.
“Stop thinking so hard,” Knox grumbled sleepily. “Go to sleep.”
“I can’t,” he whispered back.
There was too much to think about, too much to plan. There had to be some way to find them the mages they needed to be whole again. To be strong, inside and out. To—
Knox’s teeth latched onto the nape of his neck and bit down. It sent a wave of ecstasy through him, right down his spine, to the tips of his fingers and toes. The pleasure took up every inch of room inside his mind, leaving no space in his head for anything but Knox.
The alpha let go, kissing away the sting of his bite and burying his nose in Lorcan’s hair. Lorcan let his worries go; they’d keep for another day.
There was no denying what he was anymore. He was a wolf mage, through and through. The fate he’d fought so hard to hide from was now one he embraced with pride.
He wouldn’t trade it for anything.
