Run To You: The Damaged Series - Book Four Page 6

by Shayne McClendon

James got to his feet and held himself over her body with one hand beside her head, his other palm caressing her breast.

Her unusual release was visible on his clothes. She wasn’t sure what to say because it had never happened before.

  “I…” She had nothing.

“Did you know most women are capable of full release in such a way? It’s something I learned when I spent six months in Asia with Bennett. I learned the skill but didn’t use it...certain I wouldn’t find a woman adventurous enough to roll with it if I was successful.” His hand slipped over her damp skin and up to cup her face. “How do you feel?”

Hoarsely, she asked, “How old were you?”

  “Twenty.”

“You waited until now to make a woman come all over you like you were caught in the spray of a broken faucet?”

He grinned. “How do you feel, Nina?”

Swallowing, she tried to clear her throat and ended up squeaking instead. “Like I just came for the first time…”

  “Powerful?”

She nodded and admitted, “And a little embarrassed.”

  “That must be unusual.”

  “It is.”

He bent and kissed her deeply. When he pulled back, he asked, “How would you like to feel it again?”

  “God, yes.”

“I need to check on Bennett. Shower and take a nap if you like. When I come back, maybe you’ll come on my face again.” One more rough kiss and he stood.

Striding to the bathroom, she listened as he cleaned up. He was shirtless when he left the attached room and walked to his closet. He quickly shrugged on a fresh tank top, button-down shirt, and suit jacket.

Returning to her, he bent and dragged his tongue from her pussy, over her clit, up her torso, around her nipple, along her neck, and to her mouth.

She felt marked, claimed. His kiss was devastating.

“I love all the flavors of you, Nina. Don’t leave yet. Stay here and I’ll be back.” Another quick kiss and he was gone.

Nina stared at the ceiling, legitimately questioning whether her legs would hold her up if she stood.

Eventually, she decided to risk it and felt an internal blush seeing the wetness on the edge of the duvet and down the side, a small puddle on the wood floor beneath the bed.

She made it to the shower and stood there for a long time letting the water beat down on her back. Her muscles twitched.

Part of her wanted to run.

  Part of her wanted more.

She wasn’t sure which inner voice to heed.

First, she had to stop shaking.

  Chapter Seven

After showering, Nina fully intended to leave James’ room and return to the party. She wanted to say her goodbyes, grab her luggage, call a car service, and leave straight for the Austin airport before dawn.

She knew Miss Jeffries had her purse. The woman was uncannily good at keeping an eye on women’s handbags. Tossing her panties in the bathroom trash can, she slipped her dress over her head and grabbed her heels.

  Everything inside Nina hesitated.

She walked to the window and stared at the party below that was still going strong - guests eating, dancing, and laughing.

Miss Jeffries chatted animatedly with Mary-Margaret. Gage stood at one of the bars nursing a drink he probably wanted to drain in one shot.

James stood at Bennett’s shoulder, Rowan at her husband’s other side. The older man was clearly exhausted.

The trio disappeared beneath the window and Nina went to James’ door, cracking it open to peer into the hall. A minute later, the elevator dinged softly and James emerged carrying Bennett in his arms.

Rowan walked beside them. “You waited too long to rest. We should have come inside…”

Bennett chuckled. “It’s your birthday, darling. I refuse to ruin it by being tired.”

Smiling at him, she replied, “I love you, Bennett. You’re my favorite person so spending time with you isn’t ruining anything. Let’s get comfortable and watch a movie.”

Their voices faded as they entered the suite. Nina shut James’ door softly and pressed herself against the wall.

She whispered to herself, “You’re on the wrong side of the door, Nina...you were supposed to leave. Why can’t you leave?”

Rowan was going to lose the man she loved. Soon, judging by all the information she’d gathered throughout the day. Thinking back to the night Gage and Nina brutally broke Rowan’s heart, Nina knew this loss was going to be far worse.

Staring at nothing, she didn’t know what to do.

More time than she realized must have passed because James opened his bedroom door, let his eyes roll down Nina’s body, and shut it behind him.

“How long? How long until she loses Bennett?”

“Just before he met Rowan, Bennett’s doctors gave him a year but they didn’t believe he’d have that long and he knew it, too. He started putting his final affairs in order and there she was.” James shrugged off his jacket and tossed it over the chair behind the door. “She’s keeping him alive.”

“How old are you, James?” she asked softly.

He held her gaze as he unfastened his cufflinks and dropped them into a bowl. “Forty-one.” Pulling the dress shirt from his slacks, he unbuttoned it and tossed it over the jacket. “Bennett will be fifty-nine this year.”

“You-you’ve been with him since you were sixteen?” The big man nodded. “He’s like a father to you.”

Tilting his head, his voice was gentle. “Is there something you want to ask, Nina?”

“No.” She shook her head. “Nothing I want to ask. I just realized you’re going to grieve just as badly when he dies.” She swallowed hard. “I don’t...know what that’s like. I won’t be able to help anyone. Not you, not Rowan.”

  “Nina…”

“I’m not a good risk, James. You’re the kind of man someone like me doesn’t even dream about because it’s more unrealistic than a fairy tale.”

  “That’s bullshit.”

“It isn’t.” She stared at the floor. “The thing is, in the rubble of my life, there was another good man. He thought to save me, to help me, and I wanted him to try even though I pretended I didn’t.”

  “Isaiah Zelder.”

Lifting her eyes, she frowned. Then her expression cleared and she gave him a self-deprecating smile. “You meant it when you said you knew everything about me.” She inhaled deeply. “To drive Isaiah away from me, to keep him from getting more attached than he already was, I seduced every man who worked for him except for his younger brother. Every single one, James. I coldly and methodically fucked my way out of his heart because I knew I’d break him if he loved me.”

“Impressive,” James said with a small incline of his head.

  “What…? That’s not impressive. That’s psychotic.”

“You planned, executed, and succeeded at accomplishing your desired outcome. Well done.” He stared at her without blinking and her world tilted.

  “But…”

“Had he loved you, Zelder would have demolished your plan before it could have been put into play. He admired you, desired you, but he wasn’t in love. It’s the only reason he let you go. He knew you didn’t love him and that you needed to work through some shit.”

She struggled to counter his nonchalance.

“Before you mention Gage, I’ll point out that most twenty-two year old men would have fallen easily to you. Heart filled with love or not. He was young, dick dumb, and took what was offered. He’s a good man now. Back then, he was a walking cock looking to bust his nut.”

James pulled the tank top over his head, tossed it away, and put his hands on his hips. Her eyes were drawn to the pronounced V that disappeared into the waist of his slacks.

“I’m not young. It’s been years since I was dick dumb. And while you’re welcome to fuck your way through my security team, you should know that every man who touches you will face me in hand-to-hand combat un
til he can no longer stand up.”

  “I don’t...what?”

“I told you I won’t try to own you, Nina. I meant it. Do what you want with whom you want. However, the men around me live by a code. If they break that code because they can’t resist temptation in the form of a long-legged blonde with a sassy mouth, quick mind, and voracious appetites…” he lifted one shoulder, “there’s a price to be paid. Some might consider the price worth paying. I would.”

Confused, she said, “In that scenario, you’re putting yourself at risk as well. That doesn’t make any sense.”

“I wouldn’t participate in a one-sided fight. That’s not a fight at all. That’s a beating and I don’t beat people, Nina.” His hands went to his belt. “Again, it’s part of the code we live by. Nothing for you to worry about but I wanted to be honest about it.”

Slipping the leather through the pant loops, he smiled. “Now. Enough about what you may or may not do when you walk out that door. Let’s talk about your reward for staying tonight.”

Two steps brought him within an inch of her nipples. Reaching down, he took her shoes from her fingers and dropped them on the floor. Skimming her dress up her body, he tossed it away as well.

James wrapped his arms around her and lifted her as if she weighed nothing. She braced herself on his shoulders, her legs around his back.

Eye to eye, she told him, “You’re going to regret this.”

“Hmm. Stop saying silly shit you think you’re supposed to say and try something else.”

  “Like what?” she asked carefully.

  “How about...fuck me, James?”

Snickering softly, she raked her fingers through hair that was the same blend of multiple blondes as her own. “Both of us come from nowhere and we look so much alike. Uh, too much alike, if you know what I mean.”

“Uncanny, isn’t it?” She nodded. “I double-checked our DNA to be sure we weren’t related. Didn’t want you to turn out to be a kid I didn’t know about because that would have been seven levels of Hell to find out later.”

Releasing a snort, she quipped, “Impossible.”

“Hardly. I’m sixteen years older so I could conceivably be a parent to a woman of twenty-five. As stupid as I was at sixteen, I thought it was a good idea to check.”

  “You thought ahead.”

“Looking at your picture was like looking at a feminine version of myself. I was fascinated by you as I gathered intel. Too much so, considering we’d never met. It didn’t feel parental in the slightest so I wanted to rule out the possibility.” His arms tightened around her. “As much as you affected me on paper, I braced myself for what effect you’d have in person. I was right to be concerned. You shook my foundation instantly.”

They stared at each other for almost a minute in silence. He waited for her, gave her the freedom to make a choice.

Nina genuinely liked James - particularly the way his mind worked. He was different from anyone who’d ever touched her and she’d be lying if she pretended she didn’t want more of what he offered.

She would deal with the fallout afterward.

Inhaling deeply, she said, “In that case,” she put her lips beside his ear, “fuck me, James.”

“That’s what I’m talking about, Nina.” Reaching up, he coiled her long hair around his fist. “Any hard stops?”

Quirking a brow, she laughed. “Is that a joke?”

“Question withdrawn. I fuck hard - I’m not kidding - so your safe word is chicken.”

  “It is not…”

“An extremely non-sexual word that will break through my sexual frenzy if necessary.”

“Tell me more about this sexual frenzy.”

“I’d rather show you.” Carrying her across the room, he lowered her to his bed but didn’t release her hair. “Touching you today has provided some of the most powerful sexual experiences of my life. In order to keep delivering orgasms that soak the bed and make your eyes roll back in your head, I need to take the pressure off.”

Tugging her lower lip between her teeth, she whispered, “Pick me, pick me…” Then she reached out and unfastened his pants, pushing them past his hips. Carefully lifting his boxer briefs over his cock, she said, “Hello, beautiful.” Stroking her hand up and down the length, she sighed, “You look like you’re hurting. I’ll make it all better.”

Raising her face, she told James, “Get the rest of your clothes off. I want access to every inch of you.”

Slowly releasing her hair, he nodded. “I love a woman who gives clear instructions.”

Getting off the bed, she stood in front of him. “Supplies?” He pointed at the drawer beside the bed. With a low whistle, she removed condoms, lube, and sanitary wipes. “Look at you...prepared for anything.”

Turning back to him, she asked sweetly, “Any hard stops?” Grinning, he shook his head. Winking, she said, “Let’s stick with chicken...just in case.” Taking his hand, she placed it on the post of the footboard. “You might need this.”

She took a pillow off the bed and dropped it on the floor at his feet, the lube and wipes beside it. “Hard floors are murder on my knees and I plan to be on mine for at least half an hour.” James’ eyes widened. “Let’s play, Mr. Statton.”

  Chapter Eight

Kneeling on the pillow, Nina dropped her hair down her back. She massaged his thighs as she dragged her tongue from his balls to the slick tip and swirled it around the head. James had a substantial cock that many men would envy.

  Nina had sucked bigger.

She stared up his body as she took him to the base.

  “Fuck…”

From the corner of her eye, she watched his hand tighten on the post of the bed. Beneath her hands, the muscles in his legs clenched. The caramel of his eyes practically glowed as he watched her take him.

She relaxed into an act she’d performed too many times to count in her life and enjoyed that James wasn’t immune to it.

Lowering one hand, she lightly tapped the inside of his knees and he stepped out. On the floor beside her, Nina pumped lube on her fingertips.

Sucking him, staring into his eyes, she circled the entrance of his ass and felt him stiffen ever so slightly.

Releasing him from her mouth, she murmured against the ridge of his cock, “Trust me, James.”

She could sense his nervousness but he replied, “Mm hmm.”

Gently pressing into his ass, Nina felt his body tighten even further. She kissed the crest of his dick. “Let me in. Let me show you what you clearly haven’t felt in all your forty-one years.”

He slowly relaxed his muscles and she slipped an inch inside. Above her, he panted softly through his lips.

Taking him to the back of her throat, sucking him deep and swallowing around the head, distracted him from the unfamiliar invasion Nina subjected him to. Going a little deeper, she used her other hand to massage his balls, and he released a low groan.

Then she introduced James to a place in his body that all his exciting sexual escapades had missed. It was an area most straight men never knew existed.

As her fingertip brushed across the gland in his ass, his knees almost buckled. The head released a spurt of come as his body shook. He gasped sharply and she held his gaze as he processed what was happening.

Rubbing it more firmly made his eyes roll back in his head. She played over it like a clit and the breath stuttered from his lungs. Tugging his ball sac away from his body, she pressed the flesh behind it and he whimpered into the room.

She knew he was fighting not to come, his entire body tense while he struggled to maintain control. Letting go of his cock, she held it out of the way and bent to take his balls in her mouth.

“Fuck...I can’t.” His voice was hoarse, shaky.

She moaned around the sensitive flesh and he gripped a fistful of her hair. Returning to the crest, she met his eyes as her tongue played over it.

“You know what I want, James. Every,” she sucked just the head in a kis
s, “drop. Give it to me.” She took him all the way, cupped his balls in her fist, and moved faster over the male version of the clitoris buried in his ass.

His hips rocked and she let him fuck her mouth as beads of sweat slipped over his body. His groans deepened into growls that made the hair on the back of her neck stand up.

The fingers buried in her hair tightened and released, holding her still to take his cock. Slashes of color across his cheeks, the tic in his jaw, and the low rumble coming from his chest were evidence of the wildness inside him.

“Nina…” He gasped as he started to come and she applied steady pressure on his prostate gland. She didn’t look away as he came, filling her mouth with liquid heat. “Fuck! Fuck!”

She swallowed him whole, didn’t lose a drop, and knew he was on the verge of collapsing to the floor. Wrapping one arm around his leg, she supported him as he rode the waves of pleasure, shaking and moaning.

As the orgasm turned him loose, she rubbed over the little spot again and he whimpered as his body gave her a bit more.

Keeping his cock in her mouth, suckling softly, she carefully removed her finger from inside him and cleaned it thoroughly with a wipe. Reaching between his legs, she wiped away the excess lube as well.

She let him slowly slip from between her lips and sat back on her heels. Her palm on his thigh, she could feel the aftershocks in the muscle.

  “How do you feel, James?”

He swallowed hard. “Like I just came for the first time.” One shoulder lifted. “A little embarrassed.”

  “Let’s shower while you process.”

Exhaling roughly, he bent and lifted her to her feet. Holding her face in his hands, he whispered, “You fascinate me.”

Concealing her emotions, she replied quietly, “It will fade…”

“You say some ridiculous shit in an effort to convince yourself of things that aren’t true. We’ll work on that.” Then James dropped his mouth over hers and took her apart with his kiss.

He held her close, tightly, and she felt cherished in a way that made her want to run screaming from his general vicinity.
