Irene Radford has been writing stories ever since she figured out what a pencil was for. Editing, as Phyllis Irene Radford, grew out of her love of the craft of writing. History has been a part of her life from earliest childhood and led to her BA from Lewis and Clark College.

Mostly she writes fantasy and historical fantasy including the bestselling Dragon Nimbus series and the masterwork Merlin’s Descendants series. Look for her in December of 2019 writing historical tales as Rachel Atwood. In other lifetimes she writes urban fantasy as P. R. Frost or Phyllis Ames, and space opera as C. F. Bentley. Lately she ventured into steampunk as Julia Verne St. John.

Arianne “Tex” Thompson was once described as “an explosion of fifty-two enthusiastic kittens latching onto everything at once.” After earning a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s in literature, she channeled her passion for exciting, innovative, and inclusive fiction into Children of the Drought—an internationally-published epic fantasy Western series from Solaris.

Since then, she’s become an international raconteur, most recently keynoting for GIFcon at the University of Glasgow and ruckus-raising from Boise to Bulgaria. A passionate instructor for LitReactor and Writing Workshops Dallas, Tex regularly presents for writers far and wide, once preaching the page-turning gospel over nine cities and two thousand miles in a single two-week “Tornado Alley Tour.”

At home, Tex is the founder and “chief instigator” for WORD (Writers Organizations ’Round Dallas)—a coalition of North Texas writers groups and an aspiring “literary cartel.” Now a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, WORD regularly brings over four hundred writers together for WORDfest and Writers in the Field (which still boasts a stunning 0% mortality rate in spite of the tornado).

On the page and on the stage, Tex is proud to bring her particular brand of “red-penthusiasm” to conferences, conventions, and workshops all over the country—as an egregiously enthusiastic, endlessly energetic one-woman stampede. Find her online at www.TheTexFiles.com!
