“We aren’t defined by our past,” she told him as she gently stroked his chest.

“If we were, I’d let Karma stake me and end my existence,” he told her and pulled her closer. “I have so much more to live for now though.”

“How’s your knee?” She asked and grinned when he looked at her.

  “It’s healed, why?”

“Because I want to do this,” she answered and shifted on top of him, straddling his groin and grinding hard as she leaned forward and locked her lips on his.

He groaned at the feel of her and gripped her hips, grinding her harder against him.

She moaned into his mouth and gently nipped his lip before pulling out of his arms and pulling her shirt over her head.

“I want to show you just how happy I am that you are the vampire you are today,” she said and shimmied out of her jeans.

“And I want to show you just how happy I am that we found each other,” he said as he slipped his t-shirt over his head.

“Fuck, you’re sexy,” she said as she gazed at his chiseled abs, letting her eyes trail down to the bulge in his pants.

“Not nearly as sexy as you are,” he countered and licked his lips. “I want you in every way possible.”

“That is a damn good thing, because I want you more than I have ever wanted anything in my life.”

“Then come get me,” he said and grinned when she jumped onto the bed. “Fuck, you’re hot.”

Flipping her over, he pinned her hands above her head and locked his lips on hers, kissing her deeply until she moaned loudly.

“I’m going to make you scream before I fuck you hard,” he whispered in her ear before releasing her hands and gliding down her body. Gripping the edges of her red, lace panties, he pulled them down and off in a swift move before gripping her thighs and spreading them, so he could gaze at the place he wanted to start.

Sliding one hand off her leg, he slid it to her mound and traced her lips with the tip of one finger, very slowly.

She gasped and moaned when he let his finger brush across her clit.

“Harrison,” she moaned out as he slid a finger into her folds and stroked her from her opening to her clit and back again.

Dropping his head, he followed the motion of his finger with his tongue. Savoring the taste of her as he slid his tongue inside her then back up to circle her clit.

“You taste better than the richest blood I’ve ever had,” he breathed against her before latching his lips around her clit and sucking it into his mouth.

Her orgasm hit hard and fast as he slid two fingers inside her and curled them, hitting her g-spot.

“Fuck!” She shouted as her body spazzed again.

“That’s it, baby,” he muttered as he slid his fingers out of her and pressed one against her asshole. “Have you ever?”

“No,” she answered, and he grinned as he slipped the tip of one finger into her ass and she moaned.

“Like that?” He asked and slid his finger just a little deeper.

“Fuck! Yes!” She shouted as he locked his lips around her clit again and started moving his finger in her ass.

She came again, shouting his name as she bucked off the bed.

“I’m going to fuck that ass one day soon, but for now,” he said as he quickly stripped his pants off and covered her. “I am going to make you scream my name again.”

Gliding his finger across her clit, he rubbed it until she was ready to explode again. As she came, he slammed into her and felt her pulsate around him.

Raising her legs, he laid them on his shoulders and leaned forward, driving as deep as he could, with hard thrusts.

Feeling himself near his release, he reached between them and coaxed another orgasm out of her before following her over the edge.

  Chapter Twenty-Three

“We have a problem,” Crompton’s lover told him as soon as he answered the phone.

“Oh?” He responded as he looked out the window at the setting sun. “What kind of problem?”

“The VEB and Huntresses are leaving this area, but I have no idea where they’re going,” she said and frowned.

“Then find out,” he told her. “Don’t think I won’t kill you if your usefulness wears out.”

“You’re a bastard,” she told him, and he chuckled.

“Yes, and I don’t plan on changing. Now, tell me what else you know.”

“The Halflings, Karma and Dylan, feel they are strong enough to eliminate you,” she told him, and he frowned.

“They could very well be, but you and my other spy are going to make sure they don’t get the opportunity,” he told her. “Because if you don’t, I will make sure you suffer, even if I am dead.”

“I will do everything I can to keep them here, or lead them in a different direction. It’s not as easy as you think though. Nevaeh doesn’t trust me, and Karma and the others hate me.”

“You better think of something, because if they find me,” he stopped and sighed. “Just keep them away from Boston for another week or so. I have a shipment coming in at the end of the week and will be moving out from here just after.”

“I will,” she told him and ended the call.

Sighing, he turned from the window and dialed the number of his VEB spy.

  “He-hello,” his spy answered.

“What the fuck is going on there?” Crompton asked.

“We are moving out day after tomorrow. I’ve suggested we search for you South of here, in North Carolina, possibly.”

“That’s good. What did they say to that?”

“They want to move North, but I will convince them to move South.”

“You better,” he said and sighed. “What have you found out about the New Jersey shipment?”

“No one here knows anything about it, or, if they do, they aren’t telling me.”

“Of course, Nevaeh and the others won’t tell you. What about the Huntresses?”

“None of them know anything, but I did discover Nevaeh sent four Huntresses on a special assignment. I’m not sure where they went, but if I had to guess, I’d say they went to Virginia, to Karma and Dylan’s home. His human brother is there alone.”

“Interesting information to have,” Crompton said and grinned. “You aren’t as useless as I thought. I’ll check into that, you just make sure they stay the hell away from Boston for another week.”

“I will,” he promised and ended the call.

“Analia, come here please,” Crompton called out.

“Yes, sir?” Analia asked softly as she entered the room.

“I want you to find a female that meets my usual standards and meet me in my bedroom in an hour. Prepare yourself to join us, as well,” he said and dismissed her with a wave of his hand. He was going to have some fun before sending a team to Virginia. He needed some leverage over Karma and Dylan, and Dylan’s human brother was just what he needed.

“What’s wrong, Jackson?” Karma asked as soon as she answered her phone.

“Nothing’s wrong. Does something have to be wrong for me to call?” He asked, and she could hear the humor in his voice.

“No, but for you to call after midnight it does, so I’ll ask again, what’s wrong?” She asked.

“Nothing’s wrong, exactly. I need some advice about a girl, and since you are one, I figured I’d call you.”

“A girl? You’re in the saferoom, right?” She asked, and he chuckled.

“Yes, but so is she,” he answered, and realization hit her.

“A Huntress?” She asked, already knowing the answer.

“Yes,” he answered and chuckled. “Delanie.”

“Delanie,” she said and pulled the young Huntress’ face into her head. “Been a Huntress about two years, blonde hair and blue eyes. Petite and full of energy. That one?”

Jackson chuckled, and she could hear him shuffling around the room.

“Yes, that one,” he confirmed, and she grinned. “Since t
hey got here, she and I have talked almost nonstop. We have a lot in common and she’s only a couple years older than me.”

“She’s, what, twenty-two?” Karma asked as she poked Dylan in the side to wake him up.

“Almost,” he answered and grinned. “Karma, I really think I could fall in love with her.”

“That’s great, Jackson. Just please be careful. Her life is as dangerous as mine and Dylan’s.”

“I know, but I face danger daily and you know as well as I do, that love is worth it.”

“Any idea how she feels about you?” She asked.

“Pretty sure she feels the same way. What do I do, Karma?”

“For now, nothing. You’re trapped in a saferoom together for at least another week or so, and the feelings could be generated from being in close quarters. Once we’re home, Nevaeh is going to find a place close to us and move the Huntress compound. You and Delanie will have a lot of opportunities to get to know one another better.”

“What made Nevaeh decide to move the compound here?”

“If I had to guess, I’d say it’s because Harrison lives there,” Karma answered and grinned. “She and him are kinda together.”

“That’s fantastic,” Jackson said and chuckled. “I can’t wait to see them together.”

“You may not have to wait too long. We are heading out soon and hoping to end this leg of the investigation within a few days.”

“Awesome,” he said and smiled. “I miss you and Dylan so much.”

“We miss you too, Jackson. We will be home as soon as we can be,” she promised. “For now, why don’t we get some sleep and I’ll call you in the daylight hours and we can chat more.”

“Okay, but it’s hard to tell daylight from dark in here. If not for the TV, I wouldn’t know what was going on in the world.”

“You will be able to come out just as soon as we can get home,” she promised. “Love you, Jackson.”

“Love you too, Karma,” he replied and ended the call.

“Well, hell,” she said and grinned at Dylan. “Seems Jackson has a crush on Delanie.”

“Well, she is a very pretty girl,” he said and grinned when Karma growled softly. “Come here and I will show you just how much you’re my one and only.”

Growling for a different reason, Karma sank to the bed with Dylan and they showed each other exactly how they felt.

  Chapter Twenty-Four

“What’s going on?” Fuller asked as he walked into the lobby.

“I’m sending most of my Huntresses back to California to start packing up the compound,” Nevaeh answered.

“Why?” He asked and looked at her in confusion.

“Not that it’s any of your business, but I am moving the compound closer to this area. It’s not convenient in Cali when we’re working on the East coast. I don’t like flying enough to keep doing it regularly,” she answered and frowned. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get the group that’s leaving ready.”

“Sure,” he said and frowned as he watched Nevaeh walk to Nikki.

“Why are you trying to hear what Nevaeh and Nikki are talking about?” Harrison asked from behind him.

“I’m not,” Fuller denied, and turned to leave. “I was just finding out what was going on.”

“You may have Isaac and the politicians fooled, but you don’t have us fooled for a second,” Harrison told him quietly.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he said quickly.

“You know exactly what he’s talking about,” Dylan said from Fuller’s other side. “And as soon as we can prove it, we will expose you to everyone.”

“You have all lost your minds,” Fuller said and started to walk away.

“Maybe, but we know who you really work for, and it isn’t the US government,” Karma said as she stepped in front of him, blocking his path. “When we get the proof we need, there won’t be a trial.”

Fuller gulped audibly, and Karma stepped aside to let him pass.

“We are watching you, Fuller, and we will be there when you slip up,” Harrison warned as Fuller walked through the front doors.

“I think we sacred him a little,” Dylan said and chuckled.

“Let’s see where he goes,” Karma said and nodded to the SUV pulling out of the parking lot. “I’ll follow him and call when he stops.”

“Why you?” Harrison asked and frowned.

“Because I’m the fastest and you both know it,” she replied and grinned when they frowned. “I’ll call or text if I need help. I promise not to do anything stupid.”

“You never do anything stupid, but you and reckless go hand in hand,” Dylan told her and cupped her face in his hands. “Be careful, Karma. I love you.”

“I love you, too, and I will be careful,” she promised and was gone.

  “Where’s she going?” Nevaeh asked.

“Following Fuller,” Harrison responded. “We set the plan in motion and he reacted exactly as we suspected.”

“Oh,” Nevaeh replied and looked at Dylan. “She won’t do anything to get herself killed. She loves you too much for that.”

“I know, but I can’t help but worry about her,” he responded.

“I know exactly how you feel,” Harrison replied and looked at Nevaeh. “Let’s get the Huntresses out of here then we can get everything ready, so we can move out quickly if she needs help.”

“Okay,” Dylan agreed and looked at the door once more before moving over to carry suitcases to the vans.

Once the vans were loaded, and the Huntresses were on the road, Dylan went to his and Karma’s room, and grabbed her weapon’s bag. She was fully armed, like always, but he wanted to be sure they had everything they needed if she needed help.

“You got everything?” Harrison asked when Dylan returned to the lobby.

“Yep,” he answered and held up the bag. “Nevaeh is grabbing hers, I presume?”

“You know it,” Harrison said and grinned. “We are both damn lucky they like us.”

“I know we are,” Dylan agreed and grinned as he remembered the first time he met Karma. He knew she was different than anyone he’d ever met, but he didn’t know exactly how much she would change his entire existence in just a short time.

“She’s going to be okay,” Harrison told him.

“I know, but I will always worry when I’m not beside her.”

“You two ready?” Nevaeh asked from behind them.

“Yep,” Harrison responded just as Dylan’s phone beeped.

“It’s Karma,” he said as he read the text. “They’re at the docks and Fuller went into a warehouse at the South end.”

“It’ll be quicker to run than drive,” Harrison said, and Dylan nodded.

“Let’s go,” Nevaeh said, and they all took off as fast as they could run.

  ****

“What are you doing here, Fuller?”

  “Hello to you, too, Matthews.”

“You’re not supposed to be here. What if you were followed?” Matthews said and peeked out the windows.

“I wasn’t followed, but we have a very serious problem.”

“What’s that?” Matthews asked as he continued to watch the area behind the warehouse.

“They know,” Fuller replied as he sank to a chair in the small office they were in. “And they are going to expose me as soon as they have proof.”

“You are a fucking idiot. You’ve lead them straight to me,” Matthews said through clenched teeth. “They will kill us both if they find us.”

“I wasn’t followed,” Fuller told him again. “None of them could have followed me here and they can’t track me. I disabled the GPS on the SUV and tossed my cell out the window on the way here. I took a very convoluted route and there were no cars behind me the whole way.”

Matthews walked away from the window and snapped Fuller across the back of the head. “You really are stupid. They don’t need cars to follow you, dumbass. Karma can run faster than any
car can drive.”

“I wasn’t followed,” Fuller said again. “But we do need to get out of here. I can’t go back to the hotel.”

“You’re right, we cannot stay here. I will take you to my house for now, then we can call Crompton and he can figure out what to do with you.”

“No,” Fuller said and jumped to his feet. “He’ll kill me.”

“Better him kill you than Karma torture you for information,” Matthews countered and glanced out the window again. “Let’s get out of here before they show up and we can discuss everything once we’re safe.”

They headed for the office door, but stopped when they saw movement.

“Going somewhere, boys?” Karma asked with a grin.

“How the fuck did you find us?” Fuller asked.

“She followed you, dumbass,” Matthews answered and shook his head. “I told you she had, but you’re too stupid to listen.”

“Now now, name calling isn’t nice,” Karma told them and grinned.

“You can’t take us both, little girl,” Matthews said and grinned.

“Oh? You don’t think so?” She asked. “Maybe, maybe not, but I won’t be finding out today because I’m not alone.”

“Long time no see, Matthews,” Nevaeh said as she, Dylan, and Harrison appeared behind Karma.

“Fuck!” Fuller spat and took a step back. “I will tell you whatever you want, just don’t let Karma at me.”

“I always knew you were weak,” Matthews said in disgust.

“Fuck you, Matthews,” Fuller said and took another step back.

“If you take me in, I’ll just get away again,” Matthews said and grinned. “I have people everywhere, including inside your Huntresses, Nevaeh.”

“Oh, you mean Tonya?” Nevaeh asked, and Matthews lost some of his resolve. “Yeah, we know about her, too.”

“How did you find out about her?” Matthews asked. “She’s been in deep cover for four years.”

“She’s not as deep as you think she is,” Harrison responded. “She questioned the wrong people and let herself slip up.”
