I’ll have to bring Lilah here one of these nights, Keesha thought to herself. Maybe a bunch of the stylists would want to come. Keesha smiled to herself. That could be wildly fun.

More customers approached the bar and Keesha worked her magic. She upsold drinks and shots and made sure to mention to anyone who seemed inclined that they should check out the third floor. She told old customers who were disappointed to see her mixing drinks instead of taking off her clothes which dancers to find and how they wouldn’t be disappointed.

She directed most of them to Ashley. The girl deserved all the recognition. She was talented and had an ass that wouldn’t quit.

  “Keesha!”

She looked down the bar at Dean as he pulled a half-empty bottle of rum off the back shelf of the bar. He held it up. “Can you check the back room? We need more bottles out here!”

  She nodded. “On it!”

Keesha raced down the bar, minding the corner of one of the black mats that was always curled upward, and ducked down the hall toward the storage room. She brushed past Zak, who was just leaving, and waved at him. He tipped his head and kept on going.

She caught herself on the doorframe and swung into the storage room.

All the liquor crates were labeled. She scanned the shelves until she spotted the rum she was looking for. She dragged an empty box over from one corner and began filling it with as much liquor as she could fit.

She looked up when someone stood in the doorway and blocked her light.

“Do you mind?” she barked. “I can’t see what I’m doing.”

A familiar, deep masculine chuckle practically shook the walls. “I was wondering if I’d ever get you alone tonight. You’ve been busy behind the bar.”

Keesha straightened and smiled as she planted her fists on her hips. “Shouldn’t you be up on the third floor?”

Marcus shrugged and slipped into the room, pulling the door closed behind him. “I run this place. I can be wherever the fuck I want to be.”

Keesha raked her fingers through her hair, and as he moved in close, she had to crane her neck to look up at him. “And where do you want to be right now, baby?”

He wrapped his arms around her lower back and pulled her against him. “Inside you. Always.”

She giggled. He nipped at her lips and they stumbled toward the back wall together. His shoulder clipped one of the shelves. It broke loose and toppled sideways, sending four bottles of liquor to the floor, where they smashed into pieces and sprayed up the front of both of their legs.

  Keesha cursed. “Be careful!”

Marcus ran a hand along her cheek and gazed into her eyes. “Me, careful? Never.”

  The End.

  About the Author

Nicole York is a woman that loves the thrill of suspense. Whether that be flipping upside down on a roller coaster or sitting on the edge of her seat watching the latest thriller movie, she’s all in. If you see the sports car on the freeway flying by you, take a pic, because you probably just saw her!!

She is the one that always figures out the plot in the movie and comes up with the ending that no one else ever saw coming. It just serves her right that now in the books she writes sometimes the characters take the book a direction the author had not planned on.
