“Fuck, Kira!” Stoney growls behind her back. A few more thrusts and we’re all breaking apart and coming hard. I’ve never fucked anyone like this before. Never had two guys on one girl, but fuck if we don’t need to do that again. That was a pure fucking high and I need more of it. Stoney pulls out of her and walks a few steps away as I pull out lowering her to her feet. Kira’s knees are so weak she nearly crumbles. Wrapping my arm around her, I chuckle as I hold her up when Stoney comes back, fully clothed again.
“Hey, brother. Hold herfor me.” I nod toward Kira as still gasps for air. Stoney chuckles, walks over and lifts her in his arms. He’s cradling her half-naked body like a baby. I should get jealous but I can’t. I watch him as he takes a seat on an old wooden chair before I clean myself up. Once I’m cleaned up and clothed, I walk over and drop next to him on the warehouse floor. Kira still trembles in his arms. I look up when I hear one of the guys walking toward us. Stoney snaps his head up, shielding Kira the best he can.
“Damion Ortega. He’s your head guy. Some fuck out of Mexico, half American. Has contacts all over but the MC is one out of Mexico. They are only pickin’ up scripts and handlin’ money. They are basically newcomers to the party. Ortega was with this last round to show them the ropes and a meet and greet with Grissom.” Looking up at Stoney, he nods to his guy before he walks away.
“How you wanna handle it?” he asks, shifting in his chair to look down at me.
“I got it from here. I needed information from him he wasn’t givin’ me. Appreciate the help,” I tell him honestly.
“You know I got you, whatever you need. You’ve been straight with us since day one, brother. We got your back.” I nod my head as Stoney stands and passes me Kira’s limp body. She groans a little and I laugh.
“What are we doin’ with him?” Stoney asks, nodding toward Grissom.
“I don’t give a fuck. I don’t need him anymore.” I shrug.
“Mind if we take him? I’ll make sure any and all information gets relayed back to you.”
“He’s all yours, brother.”
Chapter 17
“You think this is a good idea?” Crow asks as I pack a small bag. What’s the fucking difference if it’s a good idea or not? I need more intel on this Ortega fuck.
“Yeah. Best fuckin’ idea ever, brother,” I tell him, tossing another shirt into the small bag.
“It’s fuckin’ Mexico, Ruger. We don’t have many friendlies over there,” he reminds me of things I already know.
“Heard that. I got this. Just hang back with Kira.”
“Fuck that! Hang back alone. I’m going.” Speak of my little sex devil and she appears. I chuckle and zip my bag before turning to look at her.
“No fuckin’ way. You wanna fight me? Let’s do it. I’ll chain your ass up in the dungeon until I get back. This is intel, darlin’. I’m not goin’ in after them yet. I need more information and I need to know where the fuck they’re holdin’ them girls.” Kira crosses her arms, her eyebrows rising. Defiant little shit. I like her like this. This is her, this is the real Kira.
“You expect me to sit around here and get fucked by no one while you’re out there? Fuck you, Ruger. I’m going.” Kira storms past me and starts grabbing shit, stuffing it in her backpack.
I stand there a little unsure on how to handle this. I don’t want her there. It isn’t about her safety either. It’s about mine. Kira’s something impossible to forget, and when she’s near me, my guard slips. I can’t let that happen right now. I let it happen at that nightclub. I hate to fucking admit it but I did. I can’t risk anyone seeing her either. They know her. They are after her.
“Kira. There are a lot of things I’d argue with you right now but this isn’t one. I’m askin’ you, as your man, to please stay back this time. I told you when we go in, you can go, but this is different, darlin’.” She slowly stops and turns to look at me. Her eyes are unsure but her body language is at ease.
“What did you just say to me?” she asks in a quiet voice.
What the hell just happened here? I glance over my shoulder at Crow but he just shrugs. Fucker. Never gives me any type of warning when it comes to women. Pulling my eyes back to Kira, she stands still in her place.
“That I’m askin’ you to stay?” I question her.
“You! Get out,” she directs Crow is a low and scary voice.
What the fuck? Is she going to lose her shit and slit my throat? Fuck, I need to get going, but the way her eyes flicker with fire, I can’t move. I’m stunned into place. I hear the door click shut behind me. Crow left, the fucking coward. He’s scared of Kira? Fucking hell.
“Is that what you think I am?” she snaps.
Oh, for the love of fucking God, what did I do now? What the hell is she seething about? “What the fuck are you talkin’ about?”
“What you called me!” she screams louder.
Wait, what the fuck did I call her?
“You’re fuckin’ delusional. I need to go. Don’t give the guys any shit,” I tell her, grabbing my bag and tossing it over my shoulder. I don’t make it to the door. In fact, I don’t even get to take a step back when Kira leaps. Catching her mid-fall, she slams her fists into my chest.
“You can’t just call me that and walk away, you bastard!” She screams and hits but doesn’t let up. I set her on the floor but she comes right back at me. Anger begins to churn inside of me from her having her hands on me like this. The more she hits, the hotter I get. She’s going to cause me to explode and that isn’t ending well for anyone around here.
“Stop, Kira,” I warn her. She doesn’t listen. She keeps hitting and fighting.
“Last chance, darlin’.” I can’t take much more before I snap. She looks up at me, taking a brief pause before starting again. That’s enough of this shit. She’s pushing too hard and too far. Tossing the bag, I grab her around the throat, backing her against the wall with a thud. Kira flinches but still tries to fight me. I take a step back, keeping my hand in place. I’m just barely out of her reach when I chuckle.
“You wanna calm down and tell me what I did to piss you off?” I ask her. Her eyes narrow to slits as she stares the death glare at me. “I’m gonna let you go, but you hit me one more time Kira and it’s like a broken dam; everything in its path is gonna be destroyed, you got me?” That’s the only warning she’s going to get. It’s the only one I can verbalize. She nods once and I release her neck, my arms falling to my sides. Kira watches me, her hands balling into fists. I don’t want to hurt her. I will but I don’t want to.
“You called me your woman.” She finally breaks our silent stare down.
“So? What the fuck do you think you are, Kira?” I snap back at her. She flinches but doesn’t move.
“You just decide this all on your own?” she asks me.
“I thought it was decided when I licked your pussy on the bar that night! I thought it was decided when I let one of my boys touch you and fuck you in a warehouse!” I roar. “You know what, you didn’t want it, I didn’t either. But I changed my motherfuckin’ mind, okay? I fuckin’ said you are mine, get the fuck used to it!” Grabbing the bag, I turn on my heel and head toward the door when she stops me again.
“He said the same thing to me.”
Fuck! Goddamn it. Why does this keep happening? Why does it always come down to her past? Turning slowly, I look at her closely.
“You want me to apologize for bein’ me? You want me to say I’m sorry for what he said to you or that I said it? I’m not gonna. You won’t get a sorry from me, Kira. You need to adjust to me bein’ your man?” I shrug. “Take it. You wanna run back to your daddy the minute I walk out this door?” I point to the door. “Run. But know this. I live for the chase. Once I say somethin’ is mine, it’s mine. Anyone else touches, they die. You want out? I’m not givin’ you an out. Your problem is yourself. It’s all in your goddamn pretty little head. You want to sit here and feel sorry for what happened to you, do it. You want to live i
n that hell he tossed you in, go for it, but don’t you ever, ever think that after I’ve claimed you, I’d let you leave me so easily.”
She stands there stunned by what I’ve said but it’s all the truth. I’m not a lying man. There has never been a reason I needed to lie. I like the truth and the goddamn truth here just might hurt Kira worse than it’s hurting me. Kira opens her mouth to say something. I just cock my head and raise an eyebrow, daring her to say it. I fucking wish to God this woman would open her mouth and say one more fucking word to me today. She doesn’t. And that’s when I turn and walk out the door, slamming it behind me. Hurrying down the hall before she has a chance to come out, I step outside and find Crow waiting with a bag.
“Where you goin’?” I ask, walking past him and down the steps.
“I guess we’re goin’ to Mexico,” he says following me. Tossing my bag into the back of the truck, he does the same.
“You don’t have to,” I tell him.
Crow shrugs. “Already told Hawk. Also told him to keep that little shit in there in line until we get back. You sure that girl is worth claimin’?” he asks.
Running my hand down my face, I look back at him. “She stresses me the fuck out. Pushes me to my limits and let’s me fuck her raw. I don’t fuckin’ know what I’m gettin’ myself into, brother.”
Crow laughs before climbing in the truck. I do the same, walking to the driver’s side. When I climb in Crow says, “Where’s the but?” Glancing over at him, I sigh.
“But she makes me feel shit. You of all people know I don’t feel shit, Crow. She drives me fuckin’ insane though. How the fuck do you claim a woman that you want to strangle nine times out of ten?”
“Welcome to love, my brother.”
“Fuck you. Welcome to my death sounds better. She’s gonna fuckin’ kill me.”
Chapter 18
Mexico is hot as fuck but being along the ocean cools it slightly. I’ve been down here a few times before but I was usually closer to the border. This time, my intel is on the coast. Crow and I have set up in a hotel near where Ortega likes to handle his business. Turns out the little fuck Grissom had a little more information than he was letting on. He apparently thought if he could hold on a little longer, his ass riding would be over. Too bad for him, Stoney took him home and started over. He called and told me that he broke. He told him where Ortega does business. I wasn’t shocked to learn that it was an outdoor venue. Down here, nothing stays inside. If you’re inside, you’re hiding. That isn’t how he works.
I called in a few favors from a few friends that I knew down here and had some really good security equipment set up. Even in his little gazebo he likes to sit under. Small microphones are hidden and were carefully placed after his routine inspection. Crow and I sit on the patio of our hotel room in nothing but shorts and a pair of headphones each. Binoculars sit on the table in front of us but I can see when that asshole sits down perfectly.
“It’s so goddamn hot,” Crow mumbles. I chuckle. He’s bitched since we got here. “What have you decided about Kira?” he asks as we wait for Ortega to start talking about something useful. My Spanish skills might be a little rusty but I can pick out enough words to follow the conversation.
“What do you mean? Didn’t you hear what I said to her?” I ask, glancing over at him.
“I heard. Half the motherfuckin’ compound heard, but I know how you are,” he says, his eyes staying on the gazebo.
“I don’t know what the fuck I’m doin’, Crow. I know that I like when she’s near me but she has a home back in New York. She has a life that I’m sure she wants to get back to.” Shrugging my shoulders, I turn back to Ortega. The stupid fuck isn’t talking about anything interesting aside from where he’s sticking his little dick tonight.
“You know that for a fact? That she wants to go back. I heard her talkin’ to Hawk about stickin’ around. Maybe life at home isn’t the greatest for her.”
I let his words settle in my mind. If her home life is bad what would make her think the club life is any better? She has seen first had the kind of shit we do. She knows how we operate. It can’t possibly be better.
“Shit’s crazy around here, brother. I’m crazy. Fuck, I don’t know that I could keep her longer than a few months without breakin’ her ass in half. She’s better than this.” He already knows that. I’m not telling him anything he doesn’t know about.
“Might be true but you won’t know unless you try it. Give her a chance, Ruger. She’s surprised you once before, might surprise you again,” he says taking a drink of his beer.
I grab my own and bring it to my lips, taking a long pull when Ortega starts talking. I listen intently and follow along since he isn’t speaking English right now. Crow looks lost in the whole conversation. His meeting takes a little longer than I thought, which is fine by me. I make mental notes of everything he’s said but the last words out of his mouth are what has fire coursing through my veins. I pull the headphones off and throw them on the table.
“What the fuck was the last part about Kira?” Crow snaps, looking over at me as he pulls his headphones off. I run my hand through my hair and blow out an angry breath.
“He wants her. He thinks she’s the reason that he got caught on some kind of drug charge.” So, what Kira said was right. She doesn’t know what the hell is going on but there is someone out there that does. Someone is working against him on his own turf.
“Where’s your head at?” Crow asks. Rolling my head from side to side, I try to loosen the muscles that are corded inside of me.
“Someone’s on his inside workin’ against him. How the fuck can we find out who it is?” I ask more to myself than him. Crow drags his fingers through his hair and leans back in his chair.
“We can’t get in. We don’t look the part. We got anyone down here that could get inside with him?” Crow asks pulling my attention back to him.
“Got a few guys. Don’t know that they will do it. Same ones that set up security. We need a woman,” I say. Crow nods and huffs out a breath.
“You know any of those down here?”
“Yeah, she don’t work for free though. She’s gonna want payment in the form of cash and dick.” Crow chuckles and stares at me like it’s not a problem. Maybe not for him it isn’t. I have Kira now. I don’t want to fuck that up, but this is bigger than just Kira and me. This involves a lot of people who can’t help themselves. Women who are being used for whatever sick purposes and tossed to the side and sold.
“Fuck! Come on, man. Let’s go see, Maria,” I grumble, shoving out of my chair and heading toward the door.
My mind is a complete fucking mess and all I can think about is what Kira is doing. I pray to God she didn’t leave, but on the other hand, I don’t need her to stay. It’s a lose-lose situation for me, and I’m not sure how I’m supposed to handle it. Hurting her isn’t an option that I want to acknowledge.
Stepping out onto the street, Crow is silent. He’s just as torn as I am. Taking on someone like Ortega isn’t going to be easy. He has a fucking empire built up and to just walk in and take it down isn’t an easy task. The more I walk, the more I think. Kira is the only one who can get to him, but putting her at risk isn’t an option either. Pushing the door open and holding it for Crow, I usher him inside. He stops when he hears the music, cocking his head to the side to look at me.
“A strip club? Your girl is a stripper?” he asks with a hint of laughter.
“Goddamn right she is. Best in Mexico too.” I nod toward the inside, hoping he’ll give it up and walk inside. I let out a breath of relief when he finally shuts up and walks in.
The lights are dim as I squint to search through the crowd. It’s been a while since I’ve seen her but I’d know that long hair anywhere. Maria is one of the only girls here who wears her hair halfway past her ass. I used to love grabbing onto that and pulling like a motherfucker. Shaking the images from my head, I move past Crow and straight toward where she’s giving a guy a la
p dance. Wrapping my hands around her waist, I lift her off the prick. Reaching in my pocket, I toss him a hundred and walk off with Maria cussing and fighting me. When I finally set her on her feet she spins around, her tits bouncing when she does and slaps me across the face. She’s heated until she sees it’s me.
“Ruger?” Her big brown eyes light up as she looks up at me.
“Hey, baby. How you been?” I ask as if it hasn’t been a long time. Like I just saw her recently. I know how I left things with her before. Maria leans up, pressing her lips to mine before hugging me tightly. I don’t return any of it. I fucking can’t as much as I thought I could.
“Sit with us, yeah?”
When she pulls away, she gives me a curt nod. I walk over and sit in a booth where she slides in in front of me. Crow slips in next to me as she watches me attentively.
“You walked away from me. What do you want now?” she snaps. I knew it was coming. I knew she would still be pissed.
“Need your help with somethin’,” I tell her. She looks at me and then to Crow.
“Fuck you, Ruger.”
Chapter 19
Maria tries to slide out of the booth, but I reach over and grab her wrist in my hand.
“Sit down. What happened in the past happened, Maria. You know why I walked.” She looks at me with a pissed off glint in her eye but sits back down.
“You left because you were a coward.” Her eyes are dancing with fury.
