Omega- Secret Desire

“I’m not mad at you, Casper, I’m staying outside the room. It’s nothing beyond that,” Mark said, interrupting Casper.

“Tell me what the matter is then,” Casper insistently said.

Mark opened the door and stepped in, looking at Casper, who stared at him with curious eyes, as though he expected a sort of explanation from Mark.

  “What do you want, Casper?”

“Well, for starters, I want you to explain why you have been unreasonably silent since the ceremony!”

“Why do you think being silent is unreasonable, Casper? It was my choice to remain silent, a wolf needs his moment every now and then, you know,” Mark replied calmly, not looking at Casper.

“How convenient, really. Before the ceremony you were this beacon of hope and guidance, now you’re suddenly cold and silent as the night. And you chose after the ceremony for your ‘moment’!” Casper was beginning to yell again.

“Casper, you need to calm down. There is nothing to explain here, okay? I’m just having some time to myself. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but watching you is all I’ve been doing for the past few days. And besides, you’re not the alpha’s mate. The rules against telling you certain things are to be applied more strictly now. I can’t find myself going beyond my boundaries. They are called boundaries for specific reasons.”

Casper realized that he was being too much of a child. He had been a little over the top with his emotions ever since the ceremony, particularly because he had not seen William since the ceremony ended and William left with Shane. He wondered what William was doing at that particular moment; he imagined William talking to Shane about how nervous he was about spending the first night with him. He found it really hard to imagine William in such a light though, as he had only seen him in his arrogant times of exerting authority over him.

“He will show up, right? I mean, we can’t just sit here and pretend we did not just get married or something,” he said to Mark, and hoped to the heavens that Mark would give him an actual reply this time.

“Yes, Casper, he would show up. He is supposed to and he would.”

“Okay then. We wait till then, I guess.”

Mark suddenly burst out into soft laughter. He got a hold of himself before looking towards Casper again, then burst into another round of laughter. Casper assumed a mental position between surprised and scared. He looked towards Mark and opened his mouth in surprise, but was not able to say anything.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Mark said between laughs. He knew the young man was confused and tried to stifle his urge to continue laughing, so as to explain the laughter to Casper.

“I’m sorry, your question actually made me laugh.”

  “What question?”

“You were actually acting concerned whether William was going to show up and you’re looking forward to him showing up here. It’s funny how you’re suddenly longing to see him when you did not exactly start on good terms, and you haven’t corrected that.”

“Well, a marriage sort of sets all that right, doesn’t it?” Casper asked, his voice already reduced. He was also surprised at himself for being anxious to see William, but he never fully realized it until Mark mentioned it.

“No, Casper, no it doesn’t. A marriage never sets that right. The only explanation is that you never really hated William. Maybe you only felt uncomfortable by his show of authority, and admired everything else about him.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Mark,” Casper said, looking at the ground and ensuring that he didn’t mistakenly look up, so as not to meet the gaze of Mark.

“Of course you don’t,” Mark said again with another laugh. “But not to worry, Casper, he will show up, and you will ask him for your freedom. You…want to leave, right?”

Casper now understood that Mark was only trying to tease him, and he was indeed doing a very good job at it.

“I have questions for him, Mark. Okay? He’s the alpha. He’s the one who can answer questions that I have for him,” Casper said in his own defence.

“Casper,” Mark said, smiling and looking at him. “Take this from me, by the time he arrives, you will have more than questions for him, and he will be the only one able to attend to those concerns.” Mark laughed, a loud one this time.

“Okay, that’s it, Mark, it ends right now,” Casper said, smiling at Mark. He was happy that Mark genuinely wanted to stay and help with whatever he needed, despite William’s directive.

There was a knock on the door from downstairs and both of them looked at each other like they secretly communicated by eyesight. Mark looked at Casper with a wide smile and walked towards him, placing his hand on his shoulder as he said, ‘I’ll see you around, Casper.”

“Is that William? Is he around already?”

“Yes, it’s him. I better get the door before he breaks it down,” Mark said and waited for Casper’s face to be lit up in shock, before he added, “Just kidding,” with another laugh, after which he made his way tp the stairs.

“Get out,” Casper said with a smile as Mark headed towards the door.

Casper waited silently in the room and focused every ounce of his ability on hearing anything he could from Mark and William’s conversation at the entrance downstairs. For some reason he could not hear a word, as though no one was downstairs. He listened carefully again, and arrived at the same result. He wondered if there was a trick to it. Perhaps Mark and William, realizing that he would try to listen, masked their voices somehow, or did something to obstruct him. He was certain that they had not stepped out, as he did not hear the door shut again after William stepped in. He looked through the window to confirm, but there was no one outside. He contemplated going downstairs but opted against it as he was nervous enough as it was.

In no time, he heard the doors shut again and saw Mark disappear into the woods through his window. His heart raced like a sports car after this. He realized that he was alone in the house with William, and he had absolutely no idea what was next. Two million thoughts muddled up inside his head made him dizzy, as he suddenly sat on the bed to avoid falling. He stood up again as he realized he could not keep calm, and began to pace up and down the room. He moved towards the door, placed his hand on the door knob, and on second thought moved away from the door.

He wondered if it was an intentional move by William to see how he would react to the marriage. He lay on the bed once again and stared up at the ceiling.

“I’m married,” he said to himself. He laughed silently in order to avoid having William hear him laugh. As he was about to stand up from the bed again, he realized something. It struck him that William, apart from being the big bad wolf that he was, also had no experience in anything related to this. He realized that William should also be as nervous as he was, or maybe even more, considering the fact that William was an alpha with enormous responsibilities and a pack to lead, alongside a looming war to fight. The weight of this should freak him out, right? He immediately brushed off the idea, realizing that an alpha with all that responsibility on him should actually be able to handle the pressure of a marriage ceremony without having to worry about whether or not his mate was as nervous as he was. He felt stupid.

His thoughts were soon interrupted by a sharp and quiet knock on the door. His heart jumped. He felt a mix of emotions he had never felt before in his entire life. He literally felt unable to get up from the bed. He looked towards the door and finally mustered the strength to get up and open the door. And there the alpha was, in the flesh. He looked slightly different from the first few times he had seen him since his arrival in the woods. He looked towards him and wanted to say his name but he just could not.

“Casper,” William finally said, which greatly relieved him. “Can I come in?”

“Sure… sure,” Casper managed to mutter. “Come in.”

“How have you been?” William asked. He assumed a totally different personality than what Casper had seen since he’d arrived. The new W
illiam was a surprise to Casper, who was also annoyed that he was only seeing this after the forced marriage.

“I’m just as nervous as you are, Casper,” William said, smiling.

“Are you now? Nervous? I doubt that! You know, I was being receptive ever since Mark left, hoping that you would bring in your real self and have an honest conversation, but I really cannot deal with this. You do not have to act like some calm and collected person for me to reason with you. The big bad alpha version of you has worked out so far, hasn’t it?!” Casper yelled.

William was confused out of his mind. He was absolutely lost and dumbfounded. He imagined Shane by his side, telling him what to do, how to handle the situation. He had come to Casper with every ounce of humility in him, and Casper had turned him away, thinking it was all a façade for him to accept him.

  “Listen to me, Casper—”

“Listen to yourself! Alright? I’m not falling for this.”

“This is not an act!” William yelled. “This is not an act, Casper, I’m sorry for being harsh earlier, but it was because I could not come to terms with how I felt for you the first moment I saw you. I’m supposed to be a leader, Casper, I’m supposed to lead the pack to victory if this war indeed breaks out. I am never going to achieve that as efficiently as I want to if I’m weakened by anything. That was why I was irrational most of the time, Casper. You made me feel weak. But I realize now that it was not weakness, but strength. And I’m sorry.”

Casper boiled with anger. “Weak? Weak?! Are you fucking kidding me? I made you weak? You kidnap me and accuse you of making you weak? What kind of leader does that make you, you piece of wolf shit!” He angrily made his way to the door, attempting to push William out of the way, but the alpha held him tightly. Their bodies and faces were in the closest proximity possible, and William instinctively planted a long, passionate kiss on Casper’s lips. The moment disarmed every bit of fight left in Casper, as he submitted to William, who slowly, carefully, and in the most passionate manner possible, made love to the young wolf.

Casper felt liberated as well as trapped later that night, after the unfolding of events, as he lay in bed thinking of how he’d willingly submitted to William. He did not want to admit to himself that he’d wanted William all along, even if it was just made evident to both of them.

As they both silently lay in bed, Casper closed his eyes after a futile attempt of convincing himself, and chose to forget the entire universe.

  Chapter 10

The possibility of sleeping seemed bleaker by the second, as William tried to no avail. He stepped away from the bed and sat on the floor, overwhelmed with a flood of emotions, flooding in and out of his mind. He looked up towards the ceiling, and looked back down, realizing the lack of answers above. He repeated the same routine five different times before he finally stood up in the darkness. He breathed in heavily, closing his eyes and absorbing the cold fresh air blowing in through the window. He stared at Casper, who lay on the bed, silently sleeping. He looked very peaceful in his sleep, and William smiled. He hoped that by the time Casper woke, they stayed on good terms.

His mind flashed back to their love-making, and the moment before that. He hoped Casper was already calm about the “double personality” issue that angered him before he’d submitted to him. William stared outside at nothing in particular through the window and thought to himself that no matter what state of mind Casper was in when he woke up, he was ready to help him understand whatever he needed to. He was determined to prove to Casper that his feelings were real. He did not care whether or not Casper knew that already, he would prove it to him all over again and make him understand that he was just as important to him as the pack. He already knew how stubborn Casper could be, when it came to anything at all, even the most trivial things, let alone matters of the heart. But he was confident. As far as he was concerned, the fact that his feelings were real already sufficed for any reservation Casper might hold against him. As long as they were real, Casper would realize it sooner or later.

He finally slipped back into his clothes and decided to leave the house for the Naltice Cabin. He knew Shane would be awake with Mark, considering the fact that they had not really had the time to be with each other for a few days due to the hunting and the responsibilities following it. He smiled at the thought of just how those two always inspired him to keep the pack together no matter what. A number of times in the past, the level of friction between Shane and Mark after a fight usually surprised and scared even William himself. The beautiful thing about them, however, was that they always found their way back together, and it was always possible through efforts by both of them to see reason. William knew in his heart that he would have most likely failed in leadership if not for those two, and hoped that they continued in that light.

He grabbed the door knob and carefully twisted it, trying not to make too much sound. He knew that Casper’s hormones at that moment would be all over the place, which would have been made worse due to his heightened level of emotions, being a wolf. The first sexual encounter can be quite enthralling, but equally traumatic afterwards if one is not careful, he thought. Casper remained asleep as he stepped outside and made his way for the woods. At that moment there were equally pressing issues to tend to, as the pack needed a plan for the looming war. If he was to keep Casper and all the other members of the pack safe, he needed a plan, and there was no better person to prepare with than Shane, who always trusted Mark’s decisions. He also trusted them to give their all, just as much as he would, in helping the pack win the war.

The cabin was silent, save for a dim light in one of the inner rooms. William stood outside and studied the environment to see if there was anyone outside before he stepped in. The surroundings of the cabin were silent and empty, paving way for noises produced by birds and toads which constantly echoed through the night. William decided to walk before the lake instead of going into the cabin. He looked at his reflection in the water and gave himself a stern look. You cannot fail now, William. Not now. Not after how far we have gone. He killed the campfire by the lake which had been built by the camp members. He closed his eyes once again, raised his head up to the sky and absorbed the darkness of the night. For some reason unknown to him, he felt empowered immediately.

The dimly lit room in the cabin was occupied by both Mark and Shane sitting on two chairs facing each other across a table. They were playing a game of cards. William was always amused by Shane’s love for games involving cards and boards.

“It keeps the brain alert,” Shane always said. William always laughed at that comment, since he strongly believed that keeping the brain alert was simply done by tapping into your wolf side and increasing your instincts.

He looked inside the room and saw them at their game. Shane looked up and said to William, “How is he?”

“He’s asleep,” William replied. He looked towards Mark with a grateful expression on his face as he said, “Thank you, Mark, thank you for everything.” Mark had absolutely no idea what to say.

William grabbed himself a chair and gestured towards the two men not to worry, as they tried to quit their game to give him attention.

“We can talk while you guys play,” he said.

“No, William, it’s fine. We were just about done when you walked in. Besides, you’d be saving Mark here from continuous embarrassment. He’s not had a win all night,” Shane said with a grin.

“Is that so, Mark, where’d all that meditation go, eh?” William said as they all burst out laughing. The mood was beginning to lighten, but William had come for serious business this time. His face immediately became stern.

“Guys, we’re done with securing the safety of the young wolf now. We need to prepare ourselves for the inevitable. I don’t want us learning any bitter lessons at the end of all this. We need to have a plan for everything regarding Damion, and we need to do that fast.”

“True,” said Shane, running his hands through his hair. “But don’t you thin
k we should get our facts right before we take action, William? We’ll be learning a bigger lesson if we end up doing something that blows up in our faces and ends up destroying the pack in any way.” Shane was being cautious. Experience had taught him a lot, and he was particularly wary of the possibility that Damion and his league of monsters were waiting for them to fall into a trap.

“Shane,” Mark called . “I think the signs are clear enough here. There’s two possibilities from all this; it’s either Damion plans to attack soon or he doesn’t plan to attack soon. But ultimately, we know he plans to attack. He’s not one to change his mind about doing evil, we all know that. We need to figure out a way to be on the offense. We have a lot of city dwellers who can infiltrate his strongest base, which is his medical establishment. Most of the Hagen Pack members do not live in the woods anymore, so I think our city dwellers should be informed as soon as possible. I can go in as well if there’s any need.”

“What if they’re made? Don’t you think we’re putting them in more danger?” William asked, trying to weigh his options, as he listened to advice from the two trusted wolves.

“That’s why Mark will be going in as the lead. He’s better at that sort of mission, and there’s a very low possibility that he will be figured out, as long as he stays out of Damion’s sight,” Shane replied William. Apparently, he had bought Mark’s suggestion and was ready to try out his strategy. He stared at Mark’s milky eyes and shot him a deep, lovely smile, which was reciprocated immediately.

“Err… guys, keep it together, okay?” William said, noticing the romantic gestures going on between the two. “He goes by Dr. Jeffery Hagen in the city, and his entire medical reputation is built on that name.”

“Yeah… funny how you can be perfectly reputed for saving and destroying lives at the same time,” Shane said, irritated.

“So Mark, how do you plan to go in, who are you taking?” William asked, turning towards Mark.
