Complete Me
Page 22
“So what’d you think?” I ask, as the two of us slowly walk home.
Caleb shoves his hands in his pockets, a relaxed look on his face that might be due to the beers and might be due to him finally being away from Providence and knowing he’s safe now. “Yeah, the guys are all cool,” he says, glancing at me. “I can see why you like it out here.”
“You will too,” I say, hitching my bag on my shoulder.
“Yeah,” he murmurs.
I take a deep breath. “Thought anymore about going back to school?”
“Reid,” he warns.
“What, I’m just asking?” I say, hands up defensively.
Caleb shakes his head. “Nah, it’s not for me,” he says. “Not anymore.”
“Not even to play football?” I ask, even knowing it’s a longshot.
He glances at me, a smile on his face. “Dude, I’m even more out of shape than you,” he says, chuckling a little.
I grin. “Yeah, but we can change that.”
“Nah, I’m good,” he says, still smiling. “It’s time for me to move on.”
“So what are you gonna do?” I ask, realizing the school thing is definitely a lost cause.
Caleb takes a deep breath, letting it out in a long exhale. “Well, I need to get this off first,” he says, holding up his cast wrist. “But I did notice that bar we were at is looking for staff, so…maybe I’ll check it out.”
I nod, clapping a hand on his back. “I think that’s great.” And it is, because a job, a return to some kind of routine, can only be a good thing for him. “And, it’ll be a great place to score with the ladies,” I add, knowing it’s a popular bar on campus.
Caleb smiles a little, shaking his head. “Maybe,” he mutters and I realize now that despite being away from Providence, normalcy for Caleb is still a long way off. Sie and I got lucky because we both know everything about each other. Our shitty families, our shitty pasts and everything that happened these past few weeks. For Caleb though, that won’t be the same. Eventually, whenever he meets someone, he’s going to have to tell them and I can only imagine how hard that’s going to be.
Still, now is not the time to think about that.
“What? Don’t tell me you’re not interested?” I ask, surprised. He cocks a brow in my direction as if to say, seriously and I can’t help but laugh. “Yeah, you’re interested,” I say.
“What’s…” he starts, trailing off before trying again. “What’s the… um, what’s the deal with Ruby then…” he trails off again and when I glance over, Caleb’s eyes are locked firmly in front of him, almost as though he’s avoiding looking at me.
I smile. “In what way?”
He shrugs. “She dating anyone?”
I chuckle this time. “No, Caleb,” I tell him, my hand reaching out to grab his shoulder. “I mean I can check with Sie if you want, but as far as I know, Ruby isn’t dating anyone. Why, you interested?”
Maybe normalcy isn’t that far off.
He shrugs again as though he isn’t sure, but I’ve known him too long to know that’s bullshit. He’s interested in her.
“She’s a cool chick,” I tell him, sort of trying to sell him on the fact that Ruby would be perfect for him. “I mean last night she was obviously drunk and you barely spoke to her, but she’s cool, really. You’ll like her.”
He shrugs again, a strange smile on his face now that almost suggests there’s something more going on here, something I’ve already missed.
“What?” I ask, nudging him. “Did something happen last night when she stumbled in?”
Caleb doesn’t say anything, just smiles quietly to himself and I don’t get a chance to ask what it’s about as we arrive back at the house.
Inside, the house is quiet, the TV off and Sienna and Ruby are obviously both in their bedrooms. Caleb and I say a quick goodnight and then I head toward Sie’s bedroom, opening the door quietly in case she’s already asleep.
But she’s not, instead she’s sitting at her desk, legs tucked beneath her as she works on her laptop. Grinning, I dump my bag and walk up behind her, leaning over to press a kiss to her neck as I slip my hands inside the t-shirt of mine that she wears. I groan when I discover she isn’t wearing a bra, my mouth now sucking and kissing her neck, just below her jaw.
“I missed you,” I murmur against her skin, my fingers teasing and pinching her nipples.
Sienna’s head falls back against my stomach as she lets out a gasp and I lean in to kiss her. “Are you drunk?” she asks.
I chuckle. “No.”
“You are,” she says smiling against my mouth, her arms reaching up and holding me to her.
“Okay, maybe a little,” I concede. “But not that drunk,” I add, as one hand slides lower, my fingers slipping under the waistband of her panties. “Come to bed,” I murmur, my mouth against her ear, my tongue tracing its shell.
“Give me a sec to save this,” she says, her voice a little breathless.
“Now,” I say impatiently. It doesn’t matter that I’ve spent the past few weeks sleeping with her every night, it’s still not enough for me. I miss her when we’re apart, even if it’s just for a few hours and my body wants her, needs her, all the fucking time.
Sienna chuckles, shoving me back a little. “Two seconds,” she says.
I huff and pull back, stripping off my clothes as I walk over to her bed, pulling back the duvet and lying in the middle. “One, two,” I say.
Sienna laughs, typing away at her laptop again as she mutters, “So impatient.”
“Not impatient, Sie,” I say as I lower my hand to my dick, groaning a little.
She glances at me, the sharp intake of breath loud when she sees what I’m doing.
“Come here,” I growl, my hand slowly moving up and down my shaft.
Her eyes trail up my body, stalling out when she reaches my chest. “Oh my god, what happened?” she asks. “Did you get hurt at practice?”
I stare over at her, wait until she looks at me. Grinning, I say, “Why don’t you get your ass over here and come find out.”
Sienna uncurls her legs from beneath her, standing as she slowly walks toward me and climbs onto the bed. I pull her so she’s straddling my hips, my hard cock now pressing against her, nothing but the thin fabric of her panties separating us.
“Take it off,” I say, gesturing to the bandage on my chest.
She reaches out, her fingers trembling a little as she slowly peels it off my skin. Her eyes widen in surprise when she sees what’s underneath it, her mouth falling open a little. My hands move to her hips, holding her against me, as my fingers slip under the t-shirt, brushing against her warm skin.
“What do you think?” I ask, my eyes searching her face, a weird mix of nervous excitement tugging at me.
She’s staring at the design, at the ink that’s now been permanently etched into my chest, right above my heart. “What…why…” she stammers.
I chuckle, my grip on her tightening. “It’s my last tattoo, Sie,” I tell her, watching her face as she stares down at it. “Because it’s the only one I’ll ever need.”
Her fingers trace the letters of her name, barely brushing over my skin as she continues to stare at it, like she’s unable to look away, unable to believe what I’ve done. I squeeze her hips again, needing to hear her answer.
“Tell me what you think?” I ask her.
“I…I love it,” she breathes out, finally lifting her gaze to mine.
I grin. “Good,” I say, pulling her down till her mouth meets mine. My hand moves to the back of her neck, holding her against me as I deepen the kiss, my tongue slipping into her mouth and making her groan.
I slide my other hand up the side of her body, pulling the t-shirt she wears up and over her head so she’s almost naked, wearing nothing but her panties now. I brush my lips against hers again, but she suddenly pulls back so she’s sitting up on my hips, a small smile on her face.
/>
“What?” I ask, grinning up at her, my hands on her waist.
Her eyes flick to the tattoo again, her grin widening as she says, “Maybe it’s not quite finished,” she suggests, a playful tone in her voice as her fingers move over the ink again.
“Oh yeah?” I ask. “What’s missing.”
Sienna smiles, her bottom lip between her teeth as she meets my gaze and says, “I think you need to add the words, ‘Property of’.”
I burst out laughing, pulling her back to me and rolling us over so she lies beneath me. “Is that so?” I say, my mouth against hers, teasing her with tiny kisses and bites.
“Uh huh,” she says, her hands gripping my ass, grinding me against her.
“Well, I think,” I pause, sliding my hands down to her panties, “ that you need to get naked,” I add, ripping the fabric. “Now.”
“Reid,” she half shouts as I pull off her ruined panties and throw them over my shoulder.
“What?” I ask, kissing and sucking her neck as she widens her legs for me.
“They were brand new,” she protests.
I chuckle, shifting so I can slide into her, both of us moaning at the sensation. “Fuck it, I’ll buy you some more,” I tell her, kissing her again.
She smiles against my mouth, her hand on my chest as she pushes me back a little. “I love you, Reid,” she whispers, her eyes locked with mine.
I smile, brushing the hair back from her face. “I love you, Sie,” I tell her. “So fucking much.”
Her smile widens, her blue eyes dark and filled with so much love and gratitude and happiness. There’s a peace to them now, that I’ve never seen before, but I know is due to us and this connection we share that we’ve never been able to deny, despite how much we fought it.
And I know it mirrors what’s in my eyes too, that despite everything that’s happened this past month or even these past two years, she and I are exactly where we’re supposed to be now. Together.
I lean down, my lips barely touching hers as I push into her again, teasing her with long slow strokes as my hips start to move against hers.
“You are mine, Sienna,” I murmur against her mouth. “And I’ll always be yours.”
And before she can say anything more, I silence her with a hard kiss as I lose myself in her.

After bonding over books (and wine and cheese), they decided to take the plunge and see if they could write a book together and ta dah... The Rockport Beach Series was born! In addition to their shared love of food and dropping an occasional (read, a lot of) f bombs, the writing duo that is Claire Raye like to write about strong, sassy females who aren’t afraid to say what’s on their mind and the overprotective men who fall in love with them.
