Beautiful Thief (Omertà Law #2)

by M. N. Forgy

“Romeo? I just made a payment—”

“I’m not here for that,” Romeo cuts him off in a tone I haven’t heard before. In fact, the way Romeo holds himself when he walks to the counter is completely different. He’s confident, face serious and dangerous looking. This is the Mafia Romeo.

He talks to the man in a hushed whisper over the counter, and I can’t help but cross my arms, a sudden chill in the air making me cold. Maybe I should have brought a sweater.

They both step away from the counter, and the tall man walks out from behind the counter to the left, pushing open a door with a scratched-up circle window.

“Follow me,” the butcher man says to us.

Romeo reaches back, taking my hand, his palm warm, and we follow the man. Now in the back of the shop my eyes sweep past torsos of meat, a man grasping a cleaver hacking at it like something out of a scary movie, and an old lady wearing a hairnet wraps up cuts in parchment paper on the other side. The man jerks open a large silver door in the back of the store and we go inside. It’s cooler, it’s a fridge of some sort with large hooks holding flanks of meat. We pass several before the man grabs ahold of one that is more brown than pink, and is on the smaller size than the others.

“This one. It’s perfect,” he says, looking to Romeo for approval.

  Romeo inspects, looks it over.

“This will do. Thank you Greer,” Romeo says, and the man leaves us.

Romeo pulls open the flaps of his suit jacket and I notice for the first time a holster holding two guns. He pulls one out, handing it to me.

“Step back a few steps,” he instructs, coming behind me. “Look down the barrel and line up the marks, see them?”

His finger comes into my vision, pointing at the notches at the very end of the gun. I squint an eye, lining them up.

“Wait,” he says, stepping away from me.

I hear the noise of metal and I look to what he’s doing, he’s grabbed a cleaver off a metal cart and slams it into the body of hanging meat, tugging it free, he slices into it again leaving a big indented X on the flesh. He tosses the cleaver to the floor and looks back at me.

“Hit that target,” he instructs, standing back beside me.

Re-squinting my eye down the barrel, my finger trembling over the trigger, I stare at the X, purse my lips and then thrust my finger back on the trigger.

The gun jerks in my hand, the sound so loud it echoes through the fridge, and the bullet slices the side of the flank. The smell of sulfur and metallic wafting around me. Gunpowder.

I lower the gun. Shit, I was way off.

  “Try again,” Romeo demands.

Re-aiming, I hold the gun tightly and pull the trigger, this time not so nervous to do it.

I get closer to the X, but I’m off still.

Romeo grabs my hands, tilting the gun upward some.

  “Again,” he commands.

Holding my breath, I stare at the X, imagining Poppy, foster parents, and handlers. Almost too much to imagine at once, I let out a breath and fire the fucking gun, the bullet jamming right into the X.

I laugh, lowering the gun to look at Romeo. He’s standing to the side, his arms across his chest, his hand cupping his chin. He smirks.

  “Do it again,” he instructs.

And I do. I nail the X every fucking time until we are out of bullets.

Romeo shows me how to reload, how to cock it, and where the safety is. Holding the cold steel in my hands and knowing how to use it now I feel safer, I don’t want to give it back.

“Can I keep it?” I ask, looking up at him.

“Where you going to put it? In your shoes?” he asks, and I look down at my dress. I have no panties on or anything to hold it.

“You make a point.” Scowling, I hand it back to him.

He opens the big silver door and we step into the shop, that bloody smell back and making me scrunch my nose up. Seeing this makes me never want to eat meat again. We pass the man throwing a cleaver into a body of meat, and into the lobby until we are outside. The noise and smell back, I start looking around, amazed by life. Gideon turns to face Romeo, both of them talking in a whisper I can’t here. Gideon just keeps nodding, taking orders from Romeo. Seeing this side of Romeo makes me feel even more confident about the job we’re preparing for. He’s like a fucking king, everyone looking at him as if he holds the power.

They part ways, Gideon getting in his car and driving away.

“Everything okay?” I ask, being nosey mostly.

“Yeah. So, we need to get you some shoes and then we can head back,” he informs, opening the door for me. I slip into my seat, putting on my seat belt.

“We’re going shopping?” I ask with surprise. I know I need shoes, but I figured he’d just order them like he did my clothes. I’ve never been shopping before. I wonder where he’s taking me.

  Romeo

Pulling up to the Fifth Avenue entrance of Saks, I look at the tall building. I’ve never been inside but passed by many times. Luna looks all around, her mind everywhere at once.

Getting out, the smell of smog and the city. I open Luna’s door and help her out. Taking her hand, we walk into the building coming to a guard dressed in a suit. I give him a curt nod and walk farther in. First floor looks to be nothing but perfume, jewelry, and stuff like that. I find a board that says what each floor is and find shoes to be on the sixth.

“This way,” I instruct, taking Luna to the escalators. This place is huge, a woman’s fantasy for sure. Reaching the sixth floor, there are circular sofas and club chairs. There are a few women trying on shoes, and salesladies who are dressed very nicely helping them.

“What do we do?” Luna whispers, looking at the shoe department.

“Let’s take a seat on that sofa, someone will come help us,” I guess, I don’t really know. We pass glass displays with high heels, and shoes I’ve never seen before until we come to the couch. Luna sits down, looking around her. I take a seat next to her and before we can even settle in our seats a lady with medium length hair and a blush blouse comes to us.

“Hi there. Looking for something special today?” she asks, looking right at me. I glance to Luna, curious if she had her eye on anything.

“I... I don’t know where to start,” she says shyly.

“Well, what size are you?” she questions. Luna looks to me with a quizzical look. Sliding off the couch, I kneel before her and take the tennis shoe off, and look inside. She said the shoe was a perfect fit before.

“She’s an eight,” I inform the saleslady.

“Perfect. I’ll bring a few options out and we can go from there?” She glances back at me, her lashes touching her eyebrows.

I don’t know why she keeps looking at me, I’m not trying the fucking shoe on. I tilt my head, studying her. Have I fucked her before? No, I’d remember. I think. I point my finger at Luna.

“You’re asking the wrong person. You should be asking Luna what she wants. Anything she desires, we’ll take it,” I inform that lady, whose face has a surprised expression.

“Just some shoes will do, really.”

Luna’s modesty makes my fingers itch to grasp her face and kiss her right now.

“Oh, okay. Well, my name is Aimie. If you should need anything before I return, just ask for me.” She gives Luna a kind smile, and I sit back on the couch, adjusting my tie.

“This place looks expensive. You can just take me to a Walmart or something, Romeo,” Luna whispers, looking at the woman behind us who is dressed in name brand clothes, her face clear of any wrinkles.

  Walmart? They have shoes?

“No, we will shop here,” I tell her, and she exhales, her hands grasping the edges of the couch.

Aimie comes back with two high heels. One black, and one a blush color. Luna points to the black shoe, so the saleslady sets the blush looking one aside.

“This Bow Tie cutout Lace pump is from Aquazzura and I think it’d look beautifully on your ankle!” she says,
holding the shoe in one hand and sliding her other hand across the shoe as if she’s showcasing it.

“Oh my, that is so beautiful,” Luna says, her eyes wide with awe. Aimie hands it to her, helping her try it on and my cock pulses seeing it on Luna. Jesus Christ, it’s amazing what a good pair of heels does to a woman.

  Luna looks at me.

“I love it, what do you think.”

I twirl my finger. “We’ll take it.”

“Very nice. Is there anything else I can get you?” she asks, taking the shoe off Luna’s foot.

“You need some shoes,” I tell Luna, and she looks up at Aimie.

“Oh, let me see what we have.” She holds a finger up and disappears.

“Thank you. For everything, Romeo,” Luna whispers, the sound of her voice making my head snap in her direction.

“Of course,” I tell her, but to be honest I don’t think I would do this for anyone else. There’s just something about Luna. I want to protect her, take care of her. I have since the day I met her in the state hospital.

Aimie returns holding a white and gold shoe. It’s flashy for sure.

“This is from Dolce & Gabbana, a chunky metallic leather sneaker.” She helps Luna try it on, a smile on her face. “It’s a favorite for sure,” Aimie continues.

“Oh wow, that is so comfortable,” Luna says, her hand caressing the leather. I grimace, thinking this might be her first pair of new shoes in who knows how long. I guess I never thought about people who went without while I sat up in my apartment looking down, crying over my own issues that look smaller in comparison now.

Sitting up, I tell Aimie, “We will take two pairs in the same size.”

“Two?” Luna looks at me with confusion, I ignore it for now.

“Alright, I’ll have these right up front when you’re ready,” Aimie says, taking back the shoe. She goes to the front to box up our purchases, and Luna puts on Jannet’s sneaker.

“I got a pair for Jannet, for letting you use hers today,” I explain to Luna and her mouth parts, her eyes looking at me as if I’m some romantic. I’m not, It’s just the right thing to do. Right?

We both stand and head to check out. I hand the lady my card and my phone rings. I wonder if it’s Gideon with the info I asked him to find already. Sliding it out of my slacks to find it’s my mom calling. I answer it.

  “Hey.”

“Hey honey. I was thinking about having a family dinner? Do you think Kieran will bring Leona?” she asks, she seems to be sober.

“Uh, I don’t know, Mom. You’ll have to ask him.” I can tell you if Dad is coming, he won’t be. I look to Luna, curious if I should bring her to the dinner, but there’s a lot of things happening in the next few days.

“Alright. I’ll give him a call. I’m just nervous, I guess,” she huffs into the phone.

“Call him. He won’t bite, not you anyway.” I smile, hanging up the phone.

The lady tries to hand me the bag of shoes, and I step out of the way so Luna can take them. They’re hers.

We go down the escalators and back to the car. She slips off her sneakers and puts on the heels before I even get the engine started.

“Jesus Christ,” I mutter, wanting to take her in the back seat right now.

  “What?” she prods.

“Tonight, you are wearing just those in my bed,” I tell her, and her cheeks turn red.

A shy smile on her face. I might have been a little forward but fuck me, what’s a man to do when a girl he’s crushing after wears something like that? A beautiful woman like Luna dressed in a black dress, sneakers and holding a gun tests a man’s restraint, put her in heels and he’s done for. She’s a wet fucking dream.

Back at the apartment, we park and head inside. Jannet is behind her desk, reading. Taking the bag from Luna, I grab Jannet’s old shoes and the new ones I just bought. I set them on the counter and her eyes slowly slide upward.

“What’s that?” she questions, dropping her book.

“For you, as a thank you for letting her wear your shoes,” I inform and become anxious for some reason. What if she doesn’t like them? What if she takes me buying her shoes wrong? I didn’t think about that. Maybe I shouldn’t have gotten them.

She opens the box and her mouth pop open.

“Holy shit, is that Dolce & Gabbana?” she shouts, taking the shoe from the box. Luna laughs, and I can’t help the curl in my lip at her excitement.

“Have a nice evening, Jannet,” I smoothly state, turning back to Luna who is standing by the elevator.

“Wait, you wanna borrow my car next? HA!” She cackles, doing a little dance as she kicks her heels off and tries them on.

Luna and I enter the elevator, and she shoulder bumps me.

  I look down at her.

“That was really sweet of you.” She glows, looking up at me like I’m her everything.

“Ugh, how dare you?” I reply with a raised brow.

Being punctual and threatening was encrusted in me at a young age. Having Luna around is breaking what I know and making me… sweet, or is she just teaching me how to be a kind human being. I don’t know.

Back at the apartment, I take my heels and shoes and place them on the guest bed. They really are something else, they hug my feet like a memory foam mattress. I haven’t had shoes in a long time. I’m almost too scared to wear them, what if I get them dirty? They’re so nice. I notice the tag on the heels and flip it over to inspect it. Seven hundred and eighty dollars. My fingertips burn touching the tag and I drop it. Oh my god, I didn’t even know shoes could be that expensive. I can’t believe he spent that much money on me, and we hardly know each other. Running my hand down my dress, mulling over these shoes, and how Romeo has taken such good care of me, I know there’s something there between us. I can feel it. We don’t have to talk much, our bodies just pull toward each other like an invisible thread. Pulling my dress off my body, I let it pool around my ankles. Reaching for the heels Romeo was so fond of, I put them back on, they cup my ankle exquisitely, and give me a couple inches of height. Running my hand over the skin of my thigh, I look down at them and suddenly feel confident; sexy even. It’s as if they hold magic, giving a woman with no self-confidence the mentality of a porn star. A sly smile crosses my face, and I exit the room.

Romeo is sitting in his chair looking out the window, a tumbler of amber liquid in his hand. My heels click against the glossy wood floor, and butterflies flutter in my stomach as I waltz over to him in nothing but heels, my hair so long it covers my tits.

I step in front of Romeo, blocking his view. His right brow lifts, and he takes a sip of his drink.

Coming closer, I kneel in front of him and run my hands over his slack-clad thighs. My damn hands are shaken giving away my inexperience at this. He looks down at me, his eyes hooded with risqué intentions. Not breaking eye contact, I reach for his button and zipper, undoing his slacks and reaching in to fist his warm, silky cock. It’s already hard. He snatches my hand, stopping me and my heart lurches inside my chest.

“You don’t have to,” he whispers, but his face tells me he wants it.

“But I want to suck your cock.” My vulgar intentions makes his mouth part and he lets go of my hand. I may not be a pro at this but even I know every man wants to hear those little words.

Pulling it out, I hold it at the base and flick my tongue at the head. It pulses in my grip, and I slide my tongue down the long, girthy shaft. A musky salty taste filling my mouth. He growls, setting his drink down and cupping the top of my head.

I kiss the tip and then slip as much of him as I can into my mouth. He hisses, and I bob my head, making sure to keep the suction tight. I’ve never done this before, but I’ve seen other women do it. Girls blowing guards for special treatment back in the ring.

My jaw starts to ache, not used to the stretch, but I close my eyes and push through it. Sucking and licking. Spit dribbling down my chin and landing on
his pants.

His hips rock, his fingers tightening into my hair. My clit throbs, knowing how much he’s enjoying it.

Just as I think he’s about to come in my mouth he jerks his hips back and slips from my mouth. He stands, grabbing me by the hips, he places me into his chair backward, my chest on the back of the chair, knees pressing into the leather seat, and my bare ass facing him. He leans over me, his hot breaths tickling my ear as he caresses my bare ass.

One hand on my left ass cheek, he slips inside of me. My head lolls back, my hair tickling my shoulder blades. He feels so good inside of me.

“Luna, your body is so fucking beautiful,” he mutters and begins to thrust into me hard.

His compliment turning me on even more, I can’t help the loud moan that slips from my lips. He’s fucking me so hard the chair moves across the floor. I want to tell him to ease up, but he’s hitting something just right at the same time. I curl my toes inside of my heels and bite at the leather of his chair. His hand slides around my hips and up over my breast, pinching my nipple. Like a blast of lightning, I fall into a pit of satisfaction. Squeezing my eyes closed, I see stars as I nearly hyperventilate coming through the orgasm. He growls, digging his hand into my skin as he comes, his nose in the back of my hair.

“Fuck, what are you doing to me, Flower?”

Breathing heavily, I don’t answer, because I don’t know what he’s feeling. I don’t even know what I’m feeling because I’m just starting to defrost and become human again.

His phone rings and I look at it laying on the floor. It must have slipped out of his pocket. He steps back, pulling up his briefs and grabbing the phone.

“Hello?” he answers out of breath. “Really?” His face scowls, his eyes locking with mine.

A tickle down my thigh snaps me back to the fact his cum is sliding down my leg. Stepping off his chair, I hurry to the bathroom to clean up.

  Romeo

Hanging up the phone, I drop it onto my chair and zip up my pants. Seems Luna’s foster parents moved to Texas after they sold her and they haven’t had a paper trail since. They’re probably dead. People like that who come into a large amount of money usually spend it on drugs.
