  Chapter Eight

  Vega

The sounds of Jodeci fill the Bugatti as we glide down the highway. It’s still early and I didn’t plan on leaving my cousin’s party this soon but duty calls. Home comes first. It ain’t like Cruz was letting me enjoy myself anyway. Shit had been copasetic until Turk tapped my shoulder showing me her ass bent over dancing all over some other nigga’s dick. My whole fucking body got hot when I saw that shit. Cruz ain’t got no business near no other nigga, let alone all over his dick. I was two seconds from shutting that shit down but I didn’t wanna fuck up Rico’s party.

Not to mention Cruz has been on some ole funny style shit lately anyway. She was barely talking to me, sneaking off to talk to her sisters, and barely letting me touch her. All of it is starting to fuck with me. I’m not used to this kind of shit from her. Ever since I first met her, she and I have had an unexplainable connection. She loves to be under or around me. She needs me to touch her, just like I have to have her. She was right up on me the very first day I saw her. I remember that shit like it was an hour ago.

I had just gotten to Atlanta from Puerto Rico and I ain’t know nothing or nobody. Rico had just picked me up from the airport and we were headed to his girl’s house. A young nigga like myself was eager to get to some money, so when he talked about making a stop to get some pussy, I wasn’t really feeling that shit but I didn’t speak on it. We turned into a set of brick apartment buildings. The grass needed to be cut, there was graffiti on the buildings, trash was everywhere, and some of the doors were falling off the hinges.

What kind of bitch this nigga mess with?

I’m still looking around when he pulls his truck into the handicap parking spot in front of one of the buildings. He kills the engine and opens the door. He looks over his shoulder at me.

“Come on nigga, let’s go in. We ain’t gotta stay that long, but I already told Vanity I was coming through as soon as I touched down.”

“I’m chilling. Do ya thang.” I say as I follow him to the front door.

This nigga must come here a lot because he ain’t even knock. He just snatched open the flimsy ass screen door and walked right in. What I thought was a nasty rat infested dump, actually turned out to be clean and was even decorated decently. It ain’t the nicest furniture but it looked nice. The fact that it was clean made a big difference. There was girl sitting on the sofa with her hair tied up. She had books around her so I assumed she was doing her homework.

“What’s up lil’ Ronnie?” Rico said as he hopped up the stairs.

“Hey Rico. It’s about time you got back.” She smiled and looked at me. She didn’t look long before looking back down at her books. However it was long enough for me to see her blue eyes.

“You can sit down if you want. He and Vanity might be a while. I’m Ronnie.”

“Appreciate that. Vega.” I said as she looked up at me again.

“You Puerto Rican too?” She held up her hand. “Never mind, don’t answer that. That was a dumb question. Rico told us you were coming here.”

I wasn’t that big on talking, so I just nodded and sat down on the sofa in front of her. The TV was on so I tried to make myself watch it. We sat in complete silence and it didn’t look like it was bothering her one bit. She was so quiet and content with her studies, she almost made me feel invisible. I sat with my arms thrown across the back of the small sofa. A good twenty minutes went by before the screen door opened once again. When I looked up to see who it was, I had to pause for a moment.

In walked this little dark skinned cutie with long flowing black hair. She was dressed in blue jean shorts and a pink top. Her skin was so radiant and decorated in gold jewelry. On her shoulder she carried a small red Nike bag. She looked to be in such a rush that she just walked right past the living room and ran straight up the stairs. Not even five minutes later she came running right back down.

“Ron, why you ain’t tell me Rico was in the room with Van?” Her eyebrows were scrunched up as she rounded the corner. When she and I locked eyes, she looked caught off guard but regained her composure fairly quick, and continued to the sofa her sister was sitting on. I was not the one to stare but I couldn’t help it. This girl was the most beautiful thing I had ever laid eyes on. She also had blue eyes.

“You ain’t see his truck out there?” Ronnie asked.

“No, I wasn’t paying any attention.”

“Well that’s your own fault then. This is Vega, Rico’s cousin he was telling us about.”

When she looked up at me again, I gave her the once over before looking back at her face. I bite my bottom lip before I nodded my head at her. She extended her hand across the little coffee table.

  “Hi Vega, I’m Cruz.”

I looked at her hand but didn’t shake it.

“What? You think you too good to shake my hand?” She asked while smiling at me.

“I’d prefer a hug if you don’t mind.”

She crossed her arms across her chest. “A hug?”

I nodded. “Yeah. A small welcome to Atlanta hug.”

She and Ronnie both laughed at me, so I joined them. We were still laughing when Rico’s tall ass came walking back around the corner with an older version of Cruz and Ronnie. She had to be Vanity.

“Vega, this my girl Vanity. Vanity this is my little cousin Vega. More like my brother though. Vega these are her sisters Ronnie and Cruz.”

“Nigga you a little late on the introductions. You should have done that shit before running your ass up them damn stairs.”

Cruz looked over at me and snickered quietly. “They’re always like that. You’ll see.”

“We’ll be like that soon.” I looked over at her again and she wasn’t smiling or laughing anymore. Instead she was blushing and I swear on my life it was the cutest shit I had ever seen.

“Damn, you a smooth little somebody huh? I see you Vega.” Vanity said as she and Rico walked to the door.

I stood and followed them. “I just see something I like.” I turned around and looked at Cruz. “Come here let me holla at you for a minute.”

She walked over to me and followed me out the door. We walked ahead of Vanity and Rico and when we got to his truck, I leaned against the car door and pulled her in front of me. She was looking all over the place and I could tell that she was nervous. I pulled her closer by her hand and turned her head so she was looking at me.

“Aye mami, talk to me for a minute.”

“What you want to talk about?” She was looking at me now.

  “You got a man?”

She shook her head. “I have friends.”

“What you think about me being your man?”

She was smiling hard as hell now. She shrugged her shoulders.

“Well check this out mami, I want you for myself. How you feel about that?”

  “I think I’d like that.”

I wrapped my arms around the top of her shoulders, and pulled her to me so our faces are so close we could kiss. “You know what kind of shit I’m in. You think you can handle that?”

“I got you.” Her voice was sincere and she held eye contact with me when she said this. “You just have to make sure you look out for me. We’ll hold each other down, you feel me?”

“Shit yeah, mami. I’m with it.” I looked over my shoulder and I see Rico and Vanity watching us with their nosey asses. “You wanna give them something to look at?”

She nodded before leaning forward and kissing my lips. I went in full throttle and squeezed her tighter to me. Her small body was wrapped in my arms so comfortably. I could feel her hands on my sides gripping my shirt as we kissed. Her eyes were closed and she was moaning into my mouth. I grabbed the bottom of her face as I pulled out of the kiss, and kissed her one more time. She didn’t move out of my grasp, she leans her head forward with her forehead against my chest, I relaxed my body a little. We stayed like this until I heard some nigga in a red Corvette in the parking lot calling her name.

  “
Cruz!” He yelled.

She pulled back and looked over her shoulder. I was about to unwrap my arms so she could go tend to her nigga, but she turned around and squeezed me tighter.

“Uh huh. Don’t let me go.”

I looked down at her. “That’s your man?”

She shook her head. “I thought you said you were my man?” She sounded so innocent, I got in my feelings for a minute.

“I just don’t want no shit. I’m territorial about what belongs to me.”

She looked at me and I got lost in her eyes. “You’ll be territorial about me too?” I could hear the wonderment behind her question.

“Already am.” I held her close to me while talking to her, spitting game and shit until Rico and Vanity came.

She was mine since that first day and we’ve been rocking ever since. She became mine that day three years ago, and our shit’s been tight since then. That’s why I can’t hardly think straight when we ain’t on the same page. When I met Cruz, my life was complete in that moment. It’s hard to even explain the hold she has on a nigga’s feelings. All I know is, I have to make it right. When we get to my house, I help her out the car and into the house. We don’t say anything as we undress and get into bed. Naked, but too loaded down with other things, we don’t even attempt to have sex.

I lay on my back with my arms behind my head while she lies on her side with her back facing me. I want to reach out and hold her, but I want to give her whatever space she needs. I know she’s awake, I can tell by her breathing.

“Vega, you wanna know why I don’t want to tell you what’s bothering me?”

  I’m all ears now.

  “Yea.”

“Because I’m so happy right now. I’m not ready to hear something that might make me sad.”

I sit up in the bed and sit against the headboard. Once I’m situated, I grab her arm and pull her to me until she straddles my lap. With the sheet wrapped around her she looks down and plays with my bellybutton. I grab her hands and hold them in mine.

  “Just tell me babe.”

“I don’t want to. Look at us now. We’ve already been fighting more than we ever have because of this. It’s just going to get worse. I know it.”

She has a point there. But shit if she never tells me, how the fuck are we supposed to get past it? Since she’s bent on her reasoning, I try to go about it a different way.

“Cruz, there’s no man in this world that will ever love you like I do. Whatever it is, we’ll get past it.”

She looks at me and her eyes are glazed over a little, but she holds it in. She looks down for a few minutes before looking back at me.

“You cheated and now she’s pregnant.”

What the fuck did she just say?

“Who’s pregnant and when did I cheat?” I’m as lost as a son of a bitch right now. Out of all the shit I thought she was going to say, that was not it.

“The girl at the airport. She called me a blue eyed bitch and felt the need to inform me that her baby is yours.”

Baby? Girl at the airport? What? My mind is all over the place right now. Then out of nowhere it hit me. Aw shit!

  Gabriella.

  Chapter Nine

  Vanity

I am so happy that my baby is home. Cruz and Vega left the party early and even though my mind has been all over the place trying to figure out what could be more important than celebrating my man’s freedom, I can’t let that mess with my mind too much. Tonight is all about Rico and his coming home party. After Cruz left it was just me, Ronnie and her friend Stasia. I didn’t have anything against Stasia, but she just seemed to be a party pooper. It was almost like she didn’t want my sister to enjoy herself or something.

Whenever the three of us went out we always danced together, drank together, laughed together, shit, we did everything together until it was time for us to leave. But this girl Stasia just seemed to want to chase boys instead of enjoying herself with us, so it didn’t surprise me when she left with some dude not long after Cruz left.

Turk keeps trying to talk to Ronnie but she ain’t having it. Whatever he did it must have been major if she wants nothing to do with his ass. She has this other lil’ dude hanging around us, trying to get his lil’ freak on with her and she seems to like it. So, if she likes it, I love it. I’m proud of my little sister, for finally breaking out of her shell. I hope she doesn’t sleep with the dude she’s with but if she chose to, it’s her life. As long as she is careful and makes that nigga wrap it up, there won’t be any problems.

Rico is standing behind me as I am twerking my ass on him to the song All Eyes on You by Meek Mill, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj. I want him to know that my eyes are on him and nobody else. I know that I had been entertaining other niggas while Rico was locked up. but now that he’s home, I was done with all those clowns. None of them can compare to my Rico. He is all the man that I need, and seeing how he has toned up makes me even hornier than ever. I can’t wait to get him home so I can ride his big dick for the rest of the night.

Just thinking about what I am going to do to him makes me turn towards him and wrap my arms around his neck, kissing him with all the passion I have inside me.

“You better stop before we have to leave my party early. All my people are here to celebrate with us and it would be rude for us to leave right in the middle of it. But when I get yo sexy ass home, you are in for it.” He says as he nibbles on my ear while squeezing my butt.

“Okay I will behave but it will be very hard.” I say as I stand on my tiptoes and kiss him again.

  “Hey waddup, Rico!”

“Noah? Waddup yo?” Rico releases me to shake hands and give a brotherly hug to the dude.

“Nothing much man. I heard you were out, so I had to come out and holla at you man.”

“Yea man, thanks for coming out. This my lady Vanity. Vanity this my boy Noah. Me and Noah go way back, like waaaayyy back!” Rico says as they both start laughing.

“Aye, you got a good man here. This man has saved my life on at least two occasions.”

“Wow! That’s something he hasn’t told me about.” I say looking at Rico and wondering why he never mentioned this to me. I mean saving someone’s life is something major, so for him to not say anything makes me think there is something more to the story.

“So what you been doing with yourself? You still slanging or you went legit like you said you was gon’ do?” Rico asks him.

“Nah, I actually got married last month and we just had a set of twins three weeks ago.” Noah is smiling, but he is giving me these weird looks that are making me a little nervous. I was hoping that Rico would notice it at least once so he could address it, but apparently he hasn’t seen him.

“Wow! Married with twins all in the same month huh? Congratulations man! Seems like y’all got y’all hands full right there.”

“Yea, but now I’m in the house with not one, not two, but three chicks. And they all got their lil’ attitudes that be driving a nigga to drink sometimes. This is one of those times.” He says with a hearty laugh, as he picks up his drink and sips on it.

“Yea, I can only imagine. Me and my baby ain’t got no kids yet, but seeing as how I just got out and shit, I think I just wanna enjoy her all to myself for a while.” Rico says as he pulls me closer and gives me a kiss. Damn! I do love me some Rico.

“Yea, I know what you mean. She’s a cutie. If she were my girl I would want her all to myself, too.” Noah says as he looks me up and down with a wicked smile. Something about this dude seems familiar but I can’t put my mind to it just yet. Think bitch, think, is what I keep telling myself.

“Yea, well you can look but don’t touch nigga,” Rico says.

“I’ll be right back y’all. A nigga gotta piss like a fuckin’ race horse.” Rico says then hands me his drink, gives me a kiss and walks off to the restroom without a second thought.

I try not to pay attention to this dude that’s giving me the creeps, because he keeps looking a
t me. I can feel his eyes doing a once over on my body and it is beginning to annoy me, so I just gotta say something.

“Why you keep looking at me like that?” I ask, giving him a mean mug on my face that should tell him look somewhere else.

  “You don’t remember me yo?”

“How can I remember you when I just met you?” I ask as I continue to look at him. I mean he does look familiar but up until my man came home, I did work at a strip club so maybe that’s where he saw me.

“Nah think back to about a month ago. I came in the strip club with my boys to celebrate my marriage the next day. I asked you for a lap dance and it turned into something way more than that.” He says, as he is watching me to see if I will remember what he’s talking about. His smile grows bigger as the lightbulb finally goes off in my head.

“Oh now you remember me huh? Girl you got some good pussy. The shit you be doing with that monkey, oooohhhh wweeee! I almost left my ole lady at the altar that afternoon. Rico know he be getting him some good pussy. So tell me something. When you gon’ let me have some more of that fiyah ass pussy?” He’s now moving closer to me with this hungry wolf look, and I’m looking at him like a deer caught in headlights.

“Are you crazy? Didn’t you hear Rico just tell you that we are together? And didn’t you just say you got married, with twins?”

“Yea but what they don’t know won’t hurt them. I went back looking for yo ass at the strip joint, but they told me that you quit. What, Rico didn’t like yo lil’ side hustle? He don’t want you selling niggas yo pussy no more?”

“I’m not a prostitute!” I say, as I glare at him and look around to see where Rico is.

“The hell you ain’t. I paid yo ass five hundred to fuck that pussy that night, but it was worth it because that shit was so good. I’m still thinkin’ bout it. Yo man know bout yo lil’ side job?” He asks with a huge dirty smile on his face.
