Careless: A Movie Star Accidental Marriage Romance (Santa Barbara Secrets Book 2) Page 11

by Marcella Swann

What did we have to be nervous about? We were already married. Though that was still our little secret.

The wedding rings we used were from that original ceremony and I was glad to have it on my finger again. Despite of how ashamed I had originally been of my own behavior, I was glad that we had got married in Vegas. It had led us here, to a planned ceremony three months later.

That made eloping the best idea I have ever had, hands down.

This ceremony went quickly, with the minister proclaiming Cullen could kiss his bride at the end. Everyone cheered as he pressed a searing kiss to my mouth that promised a good time in bed later.

The old Callen would have surely planned a huge blowout bash to celebrate our marriage, but we went with something a little different. It was a viewing party at the mansion. The Brothers California premiered tonight.

Everyone brought wedding gifts while we provided food, drink, and entertainment. Yes, some of the drinks were alcoholic, but it wasn’t a wild party. Callen hardly ever drank these days, which was great because his career was taking off faster than ever and he needed his wits about him. When he did drink, it wasn’t to get blackout drunk.

I had a feeling that he was bothered by the blackout the night of our original marriage. He wanted desperately to remember what had happened, but so far, neither of us could.

There were big flat screens in every room of the mansion and the show played on all of them simultaneously, allowing for guests to watch from almost anywhere in the house.

The show was bound to be a hit. It was such a perfect balance of drama and comedy. The acting was top notch and, of course, Callen was unbelievably sexy. Who wouldn’t want to watch this just to see him?

“Well, how does it feel to officially be Mrs. Lord?” Callen asked, coming up behind me during a commercial break and wrapping his arms around my chest.

“It’s almost everything I’ve ever wanted,” I told him, turning in his arms to face him.

  “Almost?”

I bit my lip and nodded. “I still need something from you to make this night perfect,” I whispered in his ear.

He shuddered as my breath cascaded over his neck and ear. I felt the evidence of his arousal pressed against me.

“Well, let’s not keep you waiting.”

Before I knew it, we were slipping away from the crowd, sneaking up the stairs, and locking ourselves in the master suite. Then, my husband, the party animal, proceeded to show me that he still knew how to have a hell of a good time.
