A Carriage of Misjustice

“No incentive needed for me.” Adam wasn’t sure if he spoke for all the choir, but his views must have been fairly representative, given the chorus of approval. “I’m going to miss this. Maybe we should get together once a month for an informal session. Or whatever.”

Another hum of endorsement and offers of finding locations to host the group broke out, at which Martin’s tears really did start to flow. “You lot. You’re great.”

Sam came over, put his arm round the choirmaster’s shoulders, then kissed the top of his head. “Well done, mate. What about three cheers for Martin, lads?”

Adam naturally led the hip hips and joined in loudly with the hoorays. He caught Robin’s eye, getting a huge thumbs-up for him alone, and returning it with a blown kiss. The evening had been bloody brilliant, and Robin had been absolutely right, as usual. Only Adam wasn’t going to admit that if he could possibly help it. Prospective detective superintendents didn’t need any further encouragement at the moment.

Many thanks to the person at Fleet Pitch Markers who answered all my questions about aeroliner devices, what they were made of, what they weighed, and whether you could kill someone using one. Research can be a bizarre experience at times.
