I groaned. “Ugh, I’m a fucking moron. I told you, I am trying to move past him… I guess it would be easier if he left me. But fuck, this shit hurts. It was just so fucking easy for him to turn his back.”
“He’s got a penis… a man figuring out his feelings and getting his shit together is like teaching a dog to shit on the toilet. I guess it’s possible but the likelihood of it happening is damn near zilch.” He shook his head. “Look, like I said earlier… what he feels about you is something and it’s not as a sister. He couldn’t have staked his claim any clearer if he whizzed on your leg, and beat his chest screaming mine.” He chuckled and ran a hand through his hair. “Hell, I was more than half expecting him to bend you over one of the cabinets and fuck you raw in front of me to make sure I got the message loud and clear.”
I sighed. “Well, it doesn’t really matter now does it?” I asked.
He let out a long sigh. “I guess not.” He led me back to the table. “Let me help you get this place cleaned up, then I’ll get you good and wasted before I tuck you into bed.”
I gave him a forced smile. “Sounds wonderful.”
One clean kitchen, three shots, and one phone call later, I was laughing and smiling again. James had gotten home about ten minutes ago and fell in insta-love. Then in all of his fangirl fashion, he called Abee to come urgently so she could see the man of his dreams. They were like a breath of fresh air, and thankfully Carlos didn’t utter a peep about Bull. It didn’t take long for me to smoothly transition back into the girl I’ve always been. The one that wasn’t in love with her best friend. The girl that was just living her life the way she wanted. The girl without a care in the world.
I was settling down for brunch the next day alone when the door opened and closed. Lucifer entered into the kitchen seconds later carrying two large duffle bags. Seriously, I needed to start collecting keys. He placed the bags down slowly by his feet and got comfortable leaning back against the counter and crossed his arms.
He stared me down and I refused to cave. I met his glare head on, which only lasted about a minute before I began to squirm. Then I refocused my attention to my food. I snuck peeks at him in between bites and he didn’t budge an inch. What the shit? Why was he so fucking intimidating?
You can guess what happened next can’t you? Yep, like a wuss I caved. “Morning?”
His eyebrow went up but otherwise nothing. I cleared my throat and tried again. “Afternoon…?”
His other eyebrow went up joining the first. Fine. “What’s wrong?” I asked.
He shrugged. “You tell me.”
I scowled. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I answered defensively.
“Really?” he asked dryly. “Fuck is this then?” he asked gesturing to the bags.
“What do you care?” I asked softly.
His face hardened. “I’ve always cared. That’s my fucking best friend… this” he said kicking one of the bags. “Fucking means something, and I’ve never seen him so fucking pissed. What the fuck did you do?”
WHAT?! I’m being blamed? For what exactly? “Lucifer, he’s got no reason to be mad.” He growled at me, apparently that wasn’t the right answer. “Look. You don’t get it. I understand that he’s your friend, but I’m not wrong. There’s so many things that you don’t know… I know you’re his friend, but it’s not on me.”
He sighed and kicked out a chair before flopping down onto it. “Fucking hell is wrong with you bitches.” He muttered scrubbing a hand across his face. “I remember the days when things were easy. Between you and fucking Abelie I’m going to have gray hair in another year… the fuck.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle. “You love her… stop bitchin.”
He smiled wistfully. “And she’s fucking lucky otherwise I’d had killed her ass already. She’s fucking nuts.” He chuckled. When his gaze met mine, he sobered. “And you love Bull.”
I nodded. “Of course, he’s family.”
His eyes narrowed. “You’re in love with Bull.” He corrected.
I sucked in a breath and held it afraid that if I did anything else he’d know all my secrets. He sighed looking suddenly exhausted. “I know Nettie, I’ve always known. There was a reason why I trusted you with Abee besides the obvious. There was a reason why I had respect for you. You think because Bull is my right hand he dictates who I fucking like? I saw how you felt for him and I saw how you fucking handled yourself around the club. I also see how he feels for you.”
I groaned. “This isn’t helping you know…”
“Look bitch, I’m fucking trying. Abee would have my balls if she knew that I just fucking walked off… fucking hell.” He rubbed his head. “Just fucking spit it out… all of it. I know you haven’t told Abee and James for sure. There’s obviously more than Bull knows, because I know for sure he doesn’t know about your feelings. Now talk, and don’t make it mushy.”
My mouth dropped open. “Are you serious?”
“You want me to cap your ass? I’m two seconds away… I’ll deal with the others if need be. Either talk or I swear to fuck…”
I held my hands up. “Fine, fine.” I took a sip of water. “Did he ever tell you about us… when we were younger.”
His head cocked to the side. “Some… why don’t you just fucking spit it out and tell me everything already. My patience is about to fucking snap.”
I mouthed out the word moody which I’m sure he caught but chose to ignore – thank God – and I just began to talk. “Alright, well… I don’t want to drag this out, so I’ll summarize everything. Some I am sure you know while a bit of it… I know you don’t. When we were in the trailer park, Bull took care of me. I don’t know why he did it and I didn’t really wanna know at the time because I knew it wasn’t good, but hell… he made sure I was safe and ate. When I got old enough my feelings for him changed to where I thought we were gonna fall in love and have this fucking picture-perfect life and shit. Then, one day he decides he was done but I couldn’t go – “I hesitated.
Lucifer nodded. “This much I know, well at least how you guys got by… keep going. What happened when he left?”
My eyes burned, but I refused to cry. Not for this… never again for this. “Well, as you know I stayed. That night… our fathers raped me. Then they continued to… most times also getting money from their junkie friends for a go. When I was able to get out I did. I didn’t have many options, so I went into stripping. Living on the streets and in shelters, whatever I could get. You know the rest… only that I’ve never stopped loving him. You know I’ve slept with him before; drunk or whatever, but he’s my first. The first and only person I’ve ever willing had sex with. But, the only issue was that both times we were fucking wasted. Now? It almost happened the other day and I told him I loved him, his response was that he’ll think about me when he’s fucking other sluts.”
Lucifer was ashen, a look I’ve not seen on him unless he was concerned about Abee. But I pushed on, “anyway… I’m sick of living off of him, in his shadow and been looking to open my own business. Put that degree to use. I met my own fucking friend who I allowed to come over and just have dinner since Abee and James weren’t free… he popped up and blew a gasket. I never told him my friend was gay and I wanted to hook him up with James because I was too pissed he had the nerve.”
I sucked in a deep breath and looked at Lucifer. He was studying me like I was rare bug or something. “What business?”
GAH! What a fucking man, of course that’s what he wants to know about. Then again, that is his forte. “I was helping Abee and James on their pseudo company to make wedding gear and I realized how much I like it. I’m looking to build a company to help startup businesses.”
He gave me a reassessing eye and I was just waiting for him to tell me I was out of my ever-loving mind. “I want to invest.”
What the fuck? “You on drugs man?” What can I say? I was shocked as fuck.
He cocked an eyebrow before laughing. “No… this
is what the fuck I do. I know you’re not a fucking idiot. I fucking want P C on your business so what the fuck is up?”
Aye, that’s the business man in him. He’s looking at me like he got stars in his eyes and fuck if anything ever felt good. “Fuck yea. Business partners?” I said offering him my hand.
He scoffed. “Silent partner… this between us. We’ve got each other secrets now, yea?” his eyes dark and deeply serious. Apparently this was a non-negotiable.
I gulped. Shit, he’s so fucking scary when he wants to be. I guess this is how he gets his hands on all those fucking places and people. This guy is a fucking thug for real. I’ve dealt with enough that I know Lucifer is the real fucking deal. He’s asking me out of curtesy. I don’t really have a choice. “Yea.” I agreed.
He offered me a nod before he excused himself. I just gave myself to the devil. The only fucking one I’d trust.
Chapter 7
I stepped into the bar feeling amazing. It took an additional two weeks, but I’d finally got it done. I found the most amazing, perfect place to open up my business and I was on cloud nine. The location itself was positively perfect. We came across it on a whim; it wasn’t included in the list we had for places to view today. We just happened to be in between places when we passed it by. It caught both of our eyes. A few taps on his phone, a call, and fifteen minutes later we were being let in. I fell in love and my realtor looked relieved. I guess he was sick of me; it’s been weeks and well shit. I had the right to be picky on this.
I sat down at the far end of the bar. When the bartender saw me, he threw me a smile and a wink which I returned. It was only two minutes later when Peter – my most favorite bartender – slid a glass of my favorite Jack and coke. “Good news?” he asked.
I nodded enthusiastically. “Oh yea. I finally found the perfect place. The only thing left is to meet back up with the realtor and sign over my life.” I Joked.
“Congrats, drinks on the house tonight.”
I grinned. “Aww, thank you.” I took a sip from my drink. “What time my boy gets off?” I asked.
He cocked an eyebrow. “And here I thought you came here to see me.” Peter said feigning hurt.
I rolled my eyes. “I adore you darling.” I said batting my lashes just as an arm draped across my shoulders.
“Stop flirting with my girl.” Carlos teased from behind me.
I cocked my head to the side to get a look at him. “You’re off?” I asked taking in his casual clothes.
With a sigh he took the seat next to me. “That I am, and I don’t have a shift tonight.”
I clapped. “Awesome. I found a place and I need to do some shopping.”
He quirked an eyebrow. “That’s awesome Hun, where do you want to go?”
I sighed. “I have no idea; I was hoping you’d help me.” I gave him my best pout.
“Of course! Finish your drink and we’ll get to it, I’d love to help. Then maybe tonight we go out and celebrate for real?”
Hmmm. “What do you have in mind?”
“We can go clubbing?” he offered.
Peter jumped in. “Am I invited?”
I smiled. “Of course, you are.”
Carlos nodded. “I’ll text you to meet us there.”
“Do you mind if I invite Abee and James?” I asked.
He shook his head. “Go for it, the more the merrier.”
With that said I downed my drink and sent out a text about tonight. Peter refused to let me pay for my drinks and waved us off. By the time Carlos and I made it back to my place three hours later, I was both drained and excited. I had an information overload in Best Buy when I was trying to pick out a computer, printer, and whatever the hell else Carlos and the sales guy recommended. Then we went to find me some office furniture. A night out to just kick back and put my worries to the side was exactly what the doctor ordered.
We waited for James and Abee to arrive and we all spilled into an Uber together. At Carlos’ recommendation – and James’ enthusiastic approval – we ended up heading to a club called Struck. This was apparently the place to be and if the line that went all the way down the block was any indication, they were right. When we began our trek to the back of the line, Abee scooped us up.
“Uh, no line…” she said looking embarrassed.
I eyed her curiously. “And why’s that?”
James scoffed. “Are you going to flash your boobs or something?”
Abee turned beet red. “No, this is one of the club’s places. Lucifer told me to take my ass straight inside or else.”
I couldn’t help but bark out a laugh. “Well shit, we wouldn’t want to upset the big bad wolf, now would we?” I asked not waiting for them before making my way to the bouncer.
When we reached him, he eyed me up and down before giving me a disgusting grin. “I don’t take tips.”
I rolled my eyes. “You might wanna take this one. See her?” I asked pointing a thumb towards Abee. “That’s Lucifer’s wife; you think you want to let us in now?”
His eyes widened in surprise. “You’re shitting me…”
James answered. “Shit you not.”
His eyes narrowed as he took us in before pulling out a phone. The conversation lasted for all of a minute with him barely beginning to describe us before he turned ashen then hanging up. “My apologies, Ms. Abelie and Ms. Nettie. Go ahead on in, when you get inside please give your name to the guy at coat check and he will see to your needs.”
If Abee could’ve turned anymore red she would rival an apple. We didn’t even get as far as introducing ourselves before coat check guy was on us. He led us directly to a private space in their VIP section and sent a waitress over who seemed ready to do anything we asked for down to sucking toes. Apparently, everything was on the house tonight. I could get used to this…
Peter made it shortly after and there was tons of drinks and shots later when we decided to hit the dancefloor. I wobbled my way through the crowd completely surprised that I couldn’t feel my feet anymore when not too long ago they were fucking killing me.
Chris Brown’s song Post to Be began blasting through the speakers and I let loose as I let the song vibrate through my body.

Bull
This chair was fucking uncomfortable and I hated dancing. Why the shit did I let Lucifer drag my ass on a site beats the shit out of me. I could be back in the club balls deep in one of the sluts. That would be my idea of a fun fucking night.
I drowned Lucifer out as he and his partner discussed business shit. Instead, I indulged in free drinks as I let my eyes roam the crowd checking out all the scantily dressed bitches. It sure as fuck would be nice to get some other pussy, but there was always a fucking problem with these other bitches. They had expectations and shit which I didn’t have time for. I didn’t want to buy you a drink, take you out, know your name… for God fucking sakes listen to them talk. I would much rather take their clothes off, get what I need and kick the bitch to the curb.
Now don’t get me confused, I’ve done it… plenty of times. I just didn’t have it in me to deal with the screaming, crying, attitudes that followed. I’d much rather just cap the bitch after my nut if you ask me. Alright, I’m being harsh but what the ever-loving fucking hell? I haven’t gotten laid in two days and it’s not from my lack of options.
Yea I said I would much rather fuck a club bitch than one of these everyday highly pretentious bar-hopping bitches… but the club sluts lost their appeal. I hate being there these days, but I hate fucking being home even more. Fucking Natalia, that little bitch. I’m still fucking pissed off at her ass and the fucking audacity. She kicks me, me, the fuck out for some other douche bag. Fine. She can suck his dick and kick rocks. She probably already was that’s why she was giving me the cold shoulder and shit. I mean, come on. Let’s be real here. I take care of her, I always have and always fucking will. The bitch is mine and she knows it, but she just has to push my buttons all the fucking time.
/> Letting the fucking prospects and shit, flirt with her. Walking around in those tight ass clothes and fuck me heels. Then what the fuck does Bull get? Jackson, you’re such a slut. Bull, do this, do that. Jacky, can you get me some fucking tampons? Yea, no shit, right? Not exaggerating, the bitch has had the nerve to ask me that shit more than once. And what do I do? I fucking do the shit like the fucking dog I am begging for a bone.
Her bullshit doesn’t usually bother me, but the fuck I never, ever, been as mad as I was the other day at her place. Well except that time I found her swinging a knife… although I was more scared than anything that time. Anyway, I don’t know what the fuck is her deal. She’s been acting all different and shit since the fucking wedding and fuck all if I know what the shit I did to her. We don’t usually spend a lot of time and shit together or anything, but I can fucking feel the difference deep. I feel further away from her than I did even in those years after I left, and we were apart. I never forgot about my girl. I always see her as the three-year-old girl that I met way back when. Right after my mom left us and my dad found himself a fucking friend. I worried about her every single fucking day we were apart, and I can’t imagine it again, but it feels like where we’re heading is going to be worse. So much worse… and I’ll kill her ass first. Swear to fuck.
The waiter came back with a tray full of drinks and I let myself forget all the bullshit and take a look at her. She was alright I guess, not bad… nice rack and her ass was about to fall out of her shorts. When she gave me, her come hither smile as she turned to leave I figured fuck it and got up to follow her. Yea, she fucking wants me. She’s got an empty tray and moved over to the rail in a more secluded corner. She was stalling and waiting for me. Well shit bitch, if you need a nut so do I. They got to have a spot for me to get off in here otherwise I might just take a seat on the last bench and make her crawl under the table to suck my cock.
