Shield /ʃild/ A layer or layers of protection shaped and maintained by a demon’s personal energy to reduce or prevent harm to themselves. Shields can use elements and can be built solid enough to prevent poisonous gas from penetrating. The stronger the shield, the more energy required to both build and hold it.
Sithen /sɪðɛn/ A pocket dimension similar to a Plane created by the most powerful leaders of the Tuatha de Danaan clans. A ruler or rulers lead(s) each Sithen, and the energy that created the dimension often bends to the will of the ruler. Teharo Plane /tɛhɑro pleɪn/ One of the most dangerous Planes, Teharo has extreme temperatures and deadly inhabitants. Flora and fauna are illegal to export from the Plane due to their lethal nature. Only two native demon breeds remain: Tulevi and Tuveri. A third was completely eradicated. The primary language is Tulevri.
Terra Plane /tɛrə pleɪn/ Two demon breeds—humans and shapeshifters—are native to the Terra Plane, but a virus struck early in their evolution that affected only humans. If a human contracts TTV, the resulting fever either kills the infected or mutates the victim’s DNA to match the strain. Many Terran demons are unEnlightened, even those who can energy-work.
Tuatha de Danaan /tuɑ deɪ dænɑ/ Demon breed originally native to the destroyed Danaan Plane blessed with long lifespans but low conception rates. Most live in Sithens separated by their clans, and they are known as the breed with the most varied Gifts. Their native form doubles as a neutral form. Many also have an alternate (animal) form. See also fae.
Tulevi /tulɛvi/ Demon breed known for the Gift to feed from and enhance feelings of violence, chaos, and fear. Their native form provides protection against the harsh Teharan environment and includes leathery wings capable of flight. They also have a neutral form. Primary language is Tulevri.
Tulevri /tulɛvri/ Primary language of the Teharo Plane used by both remaining demon breeds
Tuveri /tuvɛri/ Demon breed known for the ability to draw energy from battle and death and a strong Gift of illusion. Their native form provides protection against the harsh Teharan environment and includes leathery wings capable of flight. They also have a neutral form. Primary language is Tulevri.
Vampire /væmpaɪr/ A human infected by the S-strain of the Thalassemian-Therianthro Virus (TTV) who survives the genetic changes. Vampires see ghosts and spirits, have an allergy to silver and sunlight, and may develop the ability to energy-work as they grow more powerful.
Venis /wɛniz/ Latin for ‘You come’
Verhaszqramigra /veʁɑʒqʀɑmigʀɑ/ A reptile native to the Teharo Plane that resembles a skinny monitor lizard with the colorful scales of a bush viper. It uses only surprise attacks to catch prey.

Wards can be used as a silent warning system, to keep a specific person out, or similar to a shield. If used as a shield and destroyed, the ward’s excess energy snaps back to the person who created it, alerting them.
