I will wash the dishes when I come back down, don't you worry about that. Dinner was great and you deserve to rest. I can't believe you have healed so greatly after such an attack. I feel so bad for you, and I am so glad you are okay”.
Chloe's mom tells them not to worry about the dishes because she will take care of them. Chloe's dad thanks her for dinner and heads to his room to sleep. He had a long trip back home and has been working extra hard the past week. Sarah takes out dresses from an elegant bag along with a necklace. Chloe models the dresses for her mom, and aunt. They love each one, and so does Chloe. Her aunt hands her a crescent moon necklace that Chloe simply adored instantly. She thanks her aunt and hugs her. Her aunt gives her another small bag before leaving the room. "You are very welcome my dear! I remembered as a child you loved looking up at the moon every day. There are a few other personal items inside this bag as well, enjoy". When Chloe looks inside the bag, she sees lingerie and other fun items. She smiles and walks away to put the things away before her mother took notice. Her mom and aunt catch up for what seemed like hours in the living room. Their voices could be heard throughout the house all night. Chloe's dad went to sleep early, and Chloe tossed and turned all night thinking about tomorrow. Her body was in pain more than usual, and she was sweating profusely.
The next morning, which is transition day, Chloe wakes up nervous but excited. She is going to see Luke, and James. She brushed her teeth and got dressed to head downstairs.
She could smell her mother making breakfast downstairs and ran down. She yells to her mother that it smelled delicious, and she asks her what she was making. Her aunt answers instead " No it is I dear! Your mom is our grabbing a few last-minute things for tonight's dinner.
"Oh okay, what did you make? It smells amazing" said Chloe.
"I am making us some of my special breakfast sliders. You may not remember, but these were your favorite" smiled Sarah.
Sarah reaches into the oven, and takes out bagels stuffed with eggs, bacon, and cheese in them. Chloe immediately grabs three and sits down to eat. Her hunger is getting out of control, and she can't seem to hide it.
"Is that Sarah's special sliders I smell?" yelled her dad.
Sarah laughs " Yes they are, help yourself"
Her dad grabs a slider and kisses his daughter. " Good morning baby, thank you for the food Sarah these are great. Chloe how are you feeling baby?".
"Good morning daddy, I am doing fine. Aunt Sarah these are great! Do you mind if I grab another?" said Chloe.
Sarah laughs " Grab as many as you like dear, I made more than enough".
Chloe grabs another and heads to the living room to watch the morning news. Her aunt begins to ask her questions about her health, and events that happened in the woods.
She asks about her friends, and she asks details about her attack. Chloe gives her the normal version of the story. She makes sure to not say anything to freak her out. Chloe explains that her friends who saved her were the ones visiting today. Sarah was pleased to hear that her niece had such amazing people around to help her. The front door opens, and Chloe's mom enters the house. She says out loud how delicious it smelled in the house.
"Chloe could you come outside and help me with these bags please. I am going to grab one of those sliders your aunt makes so good". yelled Mrs. Hart.
Chloe does as she is told and runs out the door to help her mother. She is ambushed by a beautiful red headed woman, and she realizes it is Sky.
"Hello my dear!' yelled Sky.
"Sky you are okay!" cried Chloe.
The two hug and Cry. Sky gives Chloe a rundown of what happened, and they begin to smile together.
"I am so happy to see you! Where are the guys?" asked Chloe.
"They are coming soon, they stopped to check the surroundings. James sensed something weird nearby" whispered Sky.
"Oh, okay got it. Better safe than sorry. But I thought vampires weren't allowed to come near any person home without permission. I also thought wolves, well feral wolves were taken care of already" said Chloe.
Sky lowers her voice " yes all that is correct Chloe, but one of those bastards got away. I am not sure what we are picking up, but it is evil. No worries we will take care of it. Your mom is so nice by the way! I love her already! She was the one who came up with the idea of calling you outside to surprise you. I got here right after she pulled in. She got a bit startled when I pulled the car behind her".
"It was one of the greatest surprises ever! I have been worried sick about you Sky" said Chloe.
Chloe, and Sky begin to walk towards the front door when they hear a sound in the woods. Chloe grabs on to Sky in a panic, and Sky smiles. Out from the woods came out a beautiful brown wolf with green eyes. He was wet and started to shake all the water off him.
"Awe James! I have missed you! You are wetting us! Stop!" laughed Chloe.
"Sorry I had a lead over by the lake, but no luck" said James.
"Hurry up and change into human form before someone sees you!" whispers Chloe.
Out from the woods Luke appeared in wolf form as well. A beautiful white wolf with green eyes. "Did you find anything James?"
"No nothing Luke" said James.
"Luke! I have missed you! I have so much to tell you guys" yelled Chloe.
"Hi, my love how are you feeling? I have missed you too" said Luke.
Chloe explains the body pain she is experiencing, and the two mirror incidents. They assured her it is part of the process, and that tonight will be the start of a new life.
"So why have none of you told me that I can possibly die from this transformation". said Chloe.
"Because we have the best of the best potions! And I feel it in my heart you are meant to be with us forever Chloe! Let’s head inside so that the guys can meet your parents" said Sky.
" I am scared now guys" cried Chloe.
"We will be here the entire time Chloe, please calm down” said Luke.
"Yes, my love, we have an area set up for you already in the woods" said James.
"Okay, I guess I will put my trust in the potions. My aunt is here as well, she is a bit intense and nosey, but she is great. I am excited for you all to meet, come in!" said Chloe.
Inside the family meets the pack. They are amazed by how elegant, and huge the house is.
"Is it so lovely meeting you three! Such sweet people!" said Mrs. hart.
"Thank you for saving my baby's life. I couldn't thank you enough. You guys are more than welcomed anytime. You are all family now!" said Mr. Hart.
Sarah stares at the pack "Such strong men. You guys must work out often! It is a pleasure to meet you all. And Sky you have a very fit body. I was like that in my younger years" Laughs Sarah.
Sky laughs "Thank you, but you look great still I can assure you".
"Well we do go out for long runs every day. It keeps us very fit; it was a pleasure to have saved Chloe. She has become someone truly special to us" said Luke.
James smiles" Yes! And we are very pleased to have met you all! Thank you for having us".
"That is funny, Chloe has been running a lot lately as well. She must have picked that up from you guys over at the cabin" said her mom.
"Mom I just started last week; my body was recovering remember. That was a good way to get stronger" said Chloe.
“That is true, well dinner is hours away, but I can make something quick for lunch if you like" said Mrs. Hart.
"Thank you so much mom" said Chloe.
Chloe stands next to Sky and whispers in her ear " Is it normal to always be this hungry?".
Sky smiles and nods yes. Moments later Mrs. Hart comes out with sandwiches. The pack enjoys a few of them, and they decide to go into the woods after lunch. They need to show Chloe the area where she will be having her transformation. It is a secluded area with chains tied to a massive tree. The chains themselves are thick, and massive.
"I know this can make you feel uneasy, but it is the only way. We do not know how y
ou are going to react, and the last thing we want is for you to run off after the transition and hurt someone or yourself." said Luke.
Chloe takes in the environment" So I will have to be chained up".
"Don't worry as soon as you gain control of your wolf, we will release you" said Sky.
"Why do you think I will hurt someone?" cried Chloe.
James hugs her and rubs on her arms " Part of being in wolf form comes anger, and rage Chloe. Your hunger will be ten times stronger as well. Generally, you will hunt down anything in the woods such as rodents, birds, etc. But sometimes in the process you can hurt a person if in the way. Your vision will also be blurred at first. Some new wolves’ have confused a human for an animal and attacked them. It is only for your safety and everyone else’s".
"Thank you guys" said Chloe.
"Don't move! I hear something" whispered Sky.
"It is far away, let’s start walking back" said James.
"What do you guys think it is, another feral maybe? asked Chloe
"No, nothing like that. This scent is a little different from most" said James
"Is it coming closer? asked Chloe
"We are not quite sure." said Luke
Chapter 5
The Transformation
They arrive back at the house near the entrance and hear something again. This time Chloe heard it too. " Who goes there?" said Chloe
"Sorry if I startled you, I was just going for a walk" said Sarah.
"Aunty why would you be walking in the middle of the woods! That can be dangerous" said Chloe.
"A habit as a child, I love it" said Sarah.
The pack all look at each other and begin to talk in each other’s heads. Sky whispers " Do you think she followed us?". Chloe responds, " I hope not".
Inside dinner is made, and the table is full of food enough for ten. The family enjoyed dinner, and the pack ate up whatever was leftover. Chloe joined them but tried to act normal in front of her family. The rest went up to their rooms and called it a night. The pack watched television until the house was quiet. They sneaked off into the woods to prepare Chloe for her transformation. The woods were scary, and dark.
Chloe grew a fear and hate for the woods after everything she has been through. James gives Chloe a potion to start drinking before the transition. "Once you start, I will give you another, and if things go very bad, I have an extra one" said Luke.
Chloe drinks up the potion and sits on the big tree. She allows the pack to tie her up in chains. The minutes seem like hours for them, they were all very anxious, and nervous about what Chloe was about to endure. The woods were very quiet with occasional sounds of trees blowing in the wind, and creatures running around. The small animals running back and forth grabs Chloe's attention.
"So, my instincts are already in high alert. I naturally want to chase the squirrels and the rabbits running around. I have a question" said Chloe.
"That is very normal, don't worry it is better than attacking humans. Ferals attack anything and eat anything. But what is the question?" asked Luke.
Chloe moans and complains in pain while she sits resting her back on the tree bark. They could already see her eyes changing colors.
"Are there only natural born wolves, or could people survive a transformation after being turned from a bite?" asked Chloe.
James answers " Well actually, there are two ways. One is our way which is born in, and then turned in. The difference with you is you got bit by a feral. They aren't capable of turning anyone.
It must come from a wolf in a pack and in control. But again, my love do not worry, I have made potions that will get you through this".
"Other than the feral wolves not being in control, and not being in a pack what makes them so lethal?' asked Chloe.
James answered "Well once a wolf does not find their pack or does not obey the rules, they become feral. The amount of human blood they consume starts to poison them every time they feed on one. The longer they feed on humans, and the longer they go without a pack, well they become a wild animal; therefore, complete feral".
"Ok I understand now" said Chloe.
A little over an hour later the moon starts to shine, and Chloe starts to feel extreme pain on her legs and arms. She asks to get untied, but the pack ignores her.
"Help me please! It hurts! Get me out of these! now!” Yelled Chloe.
The smaller cuffs are getting tighter on her, and eventually they pop open. They have handcuffed her twice on both arms and legs. With one regular size cuffs, and larger ones for her wolf form. Sky encourages her from far to hang in there. Chloe's mouth becomes a snout, and she is no longer able to speak. She howls and tries to break out of the chains. Her back begins to open and form an arch of a wolf ready to run. Luke tries talking her down, but it is no use. Sky tries to reason with her, but the wolf just howls. James reassures her that she will be okay. Within minutes Chloe is completely transformed and breaks free off one side of her chains.
One of her arms are free, and she takes a swing at Luke. Luke moves away and dodges her swings.
"Chloe get a hold of yourself!" yelled Luke. Chloe drops to the floor and lets out a low howl.
James eyes fills with panic " Something is wrong! the chains were strong enough to hold any wolf down" yelled James. The pack tries to talk her down and they try to regain control. Chloe is out of control and about to set herself free to the world. The risk of having her roam around was not an option. Sky begins to talk to Chloe in hopes of keeping her busy long enough for Luke to try and pin her down with another chain. Chloe is distracted long enough for Luke to grab her leg and cuff it. Chloe turns to Luke almost immediately and growls at him. She begins to jerk her body around viciously and tries to free herself. The chain Luke put on her does not hold either and it breaks open. The three look at each other in shock and begin to worry. Suddenly Chloe's wolf form collapses on the floor, and her breathing is heavy. The pack feel relieved that she has calmed down but prepare for the worst.
"Something is wrong, why is she on the floor?" yelled James. Chloe's body begins to change, and she becomes fully transformed. Chloe lays on the floor as a complete wolf, but her body does not move. They grow worry and move closer to her. Upon moving close is when they realize her breathing is very light. She is dying and there is not much they can do for her. Sky yells at James in a panic " Give her a potion, James!! Now!".
Luke and Sky holds Chloe down while James forces the potion down her throat. Chloe does not show any signs of life and does not open her eyes. The lifeless wolf lays on the ground. They wait a few minutes, and Chloe starts whimpering.
"That is better than nothing! At least we are getting some type of movement from her.” James give her the emergency potion! She is not going to make it, she is dying!" cried Luke.
"Drink this Chloe, please come back to us. If she does not change back to human form within an hour, I am afraid she will die Luke. From what I am seeing there is not any improvement after the last potion". yelled James.
"Just stop talking James." says Luke.
Luke sheds a tear, and Sky begins begging James to do something as she weeps. The three just sit there helpless with tears running down their eyes. James jumps up, and transforms to wolf, and runs off with no word. Luke yells at him " This is not a time to run off James! Come back we need to be together in this".
"Wait Luke hush...do you hear that?" whispers Sky.
Luke looks around the woods and whispers " It is the same thing I sensed when we were traveling here this morning...What is it?"
"I do not know, but it is lurking, and watching us" whispers Sky. Luke moves closer to Chloe to protect her from any unknown dangers. He grabs Sky and asks for her help " Sky I need you to help me teach Chloe how to communicate with us in wolf form immediately".
Sky attempts to get in Chloe's mind " Chloe I am going to talk to you through my mind. I know you can hear me. Reach deep into your mind and try to find me". Sky begins to communicate with Chloe
through their minds. " Chloe it is me Sky, can you understand me? I need you to fight! Stay alive with me. Please I need you, you are the closest thing to a sister I have had in years. Ever since our alpha died, and half the pack.... I have not felt so loved by any other female."
Chloe somehow manages to communicate back to Sky. She does not move at all, but she responds " I will always love you. But I am dying. Please tell my family that I love them". Luke gets on his knees and begs Chloe to fight. Nearly an hour later Chloe responds to Luke " James is near". James realizes that the pack is communicating with Chloe with their wolf minds and responds to Chloe " How are you communicating? Your wonderful. You are extremely tough and a natural. I need you to fight".
Chloe tries to respond but grows weaker. They are interrupted by a voice that appears in the woods next to James.
"Very invigorating indeed" says Von with a smile. Sky and Luke jumps up and attacks Von, they roll and flip in the air together in an all-out war. James yells loudly " Enough! get off him. I personally went and got Von! He is our only hope".
"Wait, what are you saying James?" yelled Luke.
"You want to use his blood? Vampire blood!" yelled Sky.
" Yes, it is our last hope" said James.
Von smiles, and looks at Chloe in pity "You want me to help or not? I can already hear her heart slowly stopping, you do not have much time left".
"He almost killed Sky James; you really think this is a good idea?" yelled Luke.
Sky jumps in front of Von "I refuse to let him touch her!" yelled Sky.
Chloe communicates with the pack "I agree...I do not want his blood inside of me. Let me die please"
James responds to Chloe begging her to give it a try, but she remains firm and rejects Von's help. The three wolves look at each other with hurt in their eyes. Losing Chloe is going to be tough. Von has done so many horrible things to the wolves, and humans as well. He could not be trusted with Chloe especially with her delicate situation. Chloe lets out a last howl, and Von smiles. "Very well I am off!" says Von.
Sky looks at Chloe in her dying state and rethinks it "Wait! Von do it, come back please" cries Sky.
