Acknowledgments;
I wanted to thank my readers first for being loyal and helping encourage me. People have been telling me for over a year to get this project on another format that they can download and get for their own, not confined to places that can be shut down or die at any moment; and just to read on their own.
There’s simply too many people to thank!
I feel great gratitude for all the people helping me in my life, not just my readers but also family too and anyone who has offered friendly suggestions on story tweaks.

This book has a ‘mature’ label and features some adult scenes and vivid descriptions of combat and gore. This material is for an adult audience only. All characters in this story are above 18 years of age or older, and are purely fictional. Any resemblance between characters, places, or things in this story of people living or real is purely coincidental.
This is a work of fiction.

Most especially this is a LIT RPG HAREM classification story. It is not a mistake that the format is somewhat different from other books, because its meant to be a story in RPG format, even more than many of my previous stories.
This book is meant to sound more journal like than my other stories also. Readers have responded favorably to this new type of story formatting. And I’m excited to give this to them, and think that in the future many more novels will embrace a journal style theme.
The journal theme gives you more of what the characters day will be like and gives you more activity than a traditional novel plot line, which ONLY shows you new events, and action. We want the action, but how do you have a simulated life in another world, if you are only able to read surprise events?
You can’t.
This is why I feel like a journal style theme gives more to the reader, and really is the only way of letting you feel what a life in another world would be like.
Also early on, readers may notice certain details about the main character’s family that may seem unusual. Don’t let this bother you. This is a novel also about resisting evil, not joining it, so conservative readers won’t need to worry about anything off putting.
Also, the full name and title of the book won’t have its full meaning understood until you get to near the end of Book 1, with book 1 leading into what’s going on with the full series of the book.
Thank you.
Chapter 1
A bunch of federal officers were outside a building watching while undercover in a surveillance van conducting a stake out with equipment. The imposing mansion in front of them looked old but well kept and clearly extremely wealthy and large.
It was a big mansion with lots of high walls around it, looking intimidating even for them.
Their eyes hardly rested from watching the little cameras pointed at it.
One of them had just came back from lunch, and entered into the back. He also delivered some bags of sandwiches to the others. They began munching on them while looking at the monitors.
"This is so boring, man," one of them said clearly frustrated, tapping a pencil on his note pad.
"I know. But its the boss' orders," one said. He shrugs and then took a bite from a protein bar that he had nearby.
There were currently 3 of them working there.
And the van felt like it was getting hot. One of them wiped his forehead with his sleeve, as he felt it.
"Why are we doing this again? If there were evidence shouldn't we see it already. Waste of time," said the third.
"Stop complaining. We're here to work. Keep it together guys," the fourth, guy, who delivered the sandwiches and had just come in the back door quietly said.
They had more than one monitor in play while watching the house.
The sandwiches disappeared fast while they continued their surveillance.
The house itself they were observing was actually a rather large mansion, stretched out wide over a large piece of acreage nestled between the nearby green rolling hills. And a rather unusually tall masonry brick solid security fence was around the entire property also that stretched high enough that it couldn't be just jumped or climbed over easily with its own set of razor wire coils along the top. Also there was razor wire on top with cameras also.
The family in this particular mansion, they were watching had secrets. They knew it. And the family probably knew they were watching.
But the problem was catching them in the act; the small details. This family just seemed to be too good at evading them and being sneaky.
There was a Dad, a mom, three brothers, and a sister in total. There was also a maid and a driver that worked for the family, but that didn't work there all the time. The driver also worked p
artly as the gardener between driving duties, while the maid also was the chef. Then there were also a few other non-live in staff members.
"According to the schedule, the parents should be coming home soon from working at their company," one of the surveillance guys said, looking at the clock.
"That sounds about right. Mr. Williams has a good job as a CEO. His wife also works as a lawyer. They both ride home together and seem to have a great marriage, with their limo driver taking them home everyday. They have a life of wealth and ease that makes all of us jealous. Also, the two older brothers should be out playing sports for awhile still, while still working with the company that belongs to the family. The one is in soccer. The other is heavy into gym fitness," the other said. That won't be until after the parents come home," the one said.
"Wait no. That's wrong. We intercepted communications that both are coming home early today for some reason. We don't know why. They canceled their activities," one of the feds said.
"What about the sister?" one of the others said.
"The sister is going to college out of town in another state, and in early twenties. She only comes home on holidays and weekends. And sometimes not even that when she's with her friends. Unknown if she has a boyfriend or not," the one said.
"Which college is it?"
"Oh I don't know. Some feminist women's college I think. Some people go for that kind of crap," one said.
"Don't let the women staffers hear you say that. They'll be all over you accusing you of racism or whatever."
"Right, thanks for the warning. You're probably right." He sighed.
"And the youngest? Why do you guys not talk about him?" the one fed said looking at the family members with their individual pictures in his computer files.
"The youngest doesn't seem to be involved with the family business. He's too young. He's turning 18 in a few days, and a senior in high school. He wouldn't know anything yet about their business I think," the one said.
"Right. Jay Williams, youngest of four children. Poor kid. The whole family is corrupt. He won't even stand a chance," one of them said.
"But won't they bring him in on the family business also at some time?" one asked.
"They'll probably try, very soon. That's how it was with the others. But he seems a bit different from them somehow. He's actually studying hard in school, and has pretty good grades. And he doesn't seem like a cheater in life."
"Why the hell can't we ever get these people, and catch them in the act?" the newest guy on the team asked.
"Are you serious? You did read the case file when you were transferred in didn't you?" one asked annoyed.
"Well...I kind of did but..."
"No you didn't. This is the most basic concept for this case. You didn't read it all."
"OK, I didn't. The wife was nagging me about helping out in the kitchen like her slave," he confessed.
"OK, I get that. Its hard when the boss at home is worse than the work boss," one said with empathy.
"So basically what you need to know is... magitek. They are full of it. The whole family has it. And the youngest is due soon to find out what kind of magitek element he's getting. Any day now also they'll try to bring him into the company. So we should use him to find evidence on the family," another growled.
"Really?"
"We're sure of it. But even proving that is hard. And magitek isn't a crime anyway, but makes crime prosecution difficult."
"Yeah, but you know something ain't right here. The company's enemies have a habit of always having strangely odd bad things happen to them."
"Right..."
"Now do we have any proof the father is really using magitek?" the one said.
"We have recorded the energy readings and the flow. But we couldn't identify what spell programs he'd cast. And we can't link it to him directly. Yet. And magitek is only a crime if its targeting someone, so we'd have to prove that too. But his company is doing too well. The mother is more clever at hiding it. We can't target her because she's a defense attorney. But it won't surprise me if the whole family is using magitek on rivals," one said.
"So if the parents are both mages, then wouldn't the whole family also be?" one of the feds in the van asked.
"..."
"Possibly...?"
"I was wondering the same thing."
They continued their surveillance.
So far it was turning up nothing.
But the rumors were that this family was the real deal. The ultimate boss fish to try to capture.
Nobody could turn up any evidence however.
Chapter 2
Jay point of view
I was doing my homework alone like usual, when the other family members came home. First I could hear the garage door opener going off. My room is also above the garage in the large house also. My desk faces the window on the second floor, opening up a view towards the street where they have to pull in.
I began to get nervous.
Up till now I'd been alone studying. And I had been keeping myself isolated from the rest of the family as much as possible.
Now that my family was coming home I was getting a bit nervous. Being around them is a careful balance, without getting involved in their schemes.
This is vastly complicated.
You would never guess it from looking at the house. Yes, its a mansion with many rooms and a pool with a huge kitchen and one of those special dining rooms with classical antique high backed chairs that you'd expect in a family like mine. There's no indication from looking at the house what kind of people we actually are.
And you'd never guess the truth.
The truth?
Can you handle it?
You see...my family isn't like other families. They aren't mean or anything, but its incredibly complex not being pulled into their decisions. In a word, they are 'evil'. I'd known for some time. But not what to do about it. And I wasn't sure why they were all evil, but they were.
So how to live without getting sicked into becoming evil myself is a slippery slope.
Every sentence and word I have to be careful in co-existing here, without revealing that I'm not like them.
If I say the wrong thing...
Or agree to even do errands for them its tricky.
I have to watch everything I do, to not get caught up in their temptations.
And I can't have them discover I'm the opposite of evil, good.
Outside the window...
I peeked through the curtain briefly. When the family comes home is when I have to keep my guard up.
The driver parked the car, and then went to guard the massive yard with high fences, trees, and gardens surrounding the house is the wealthy peaceful looking property that our family owns, checking the grounds before he retired for the day. Downstairs, I'm sure the maid is already almost finished cooking dinner for the family.
Of course my family actually isn't that peaceful.
Sure enough, my older, more experienced brothers are coming home also. They drive together to and from work often, though I don't know why. I see them driving up the massive driveway after coming in the front check point.
Damn it...
Any minute now...
Then I could hear the footsteps coming up to my loft, which is high up on one end of the house and sort of away from the other rooms of the house. Its mom this time, I can tell by the sounds of her heels on the steps. Then she knocks on the door.
She'd managed to beat my brothers into the house.
But she opened the door before I could answer.
"Hello Jay. How are you?" she greeted me with no smile. Its the look of checking up on me, and trying to spot things to exploit possibly.
The problem is my family isn't cruel. They just want me to join them in their plots, and schemes. And that's the real problem.
"Hi mom. OK. And you? How was work?" I asked.
"Fine. We're going to be eating dinner together. Wash your hands and come down all right?
" she said. She is the epitome of culture and dignity, and wearing nice looking women's business suits, nearly always dolled up.
"S-sure."
"Um, Jay. Have you thought about what you want to do for your 18th birthday?" mom asked.
Mother leaned against the doorway a bit while holding what I'm guessing is a shot of bourbon in her hand while still in office dress clothes and skirt.
She'd aged well and also dressed well also. Some might consider her attractive.
Its hard for someone on the street to see that someone who might fit into the MILF category, and look sweet and nice is actually pretty scary, cunning, and of course...
Evil...
