  “I’ve never seen anything like that in the military,” Kat replied. “Maybe… maybe it’s some secret weapon they’re working on?”

  “Should we check it out?” I whispered.

  Inside, there was a narrow and sleek metal tunnel that was completely empty and silent.

  I stepped inside the damaged vehicle and started to slowly make my way deeper into the craft. There was no door anywhere, and no windows, either. The hall just turned at the end, and when we followed it, we found ourselves in a control room with a huge panel of buttons and switches on one wall.

  A woman in a sleek silver flight suit laid face down on the ground, and her silver hair was strewn all around her body.

  “Shit,” Becka squeaked.

  Then I carefully turned her over to check if she was alive, and I jumped to my feet as the woman let out a short, shallow breath.
