Kings of Chaos Page 23

by Katie Ball

“Here you go. Anything else?” Eyeing me up and down, taking a good long look at my chest. The last thing I wanted was his attention.

“Can I buy you a drink?” Making it very clear he was interested in getting to know me.

  “No thanks, I’m working.”

“How about once you finish?” Not encouraging him, I didn’t want to give him any reason to think I was leading him on.

“No thanks.” He acted all wounded.

“I see, you’re playing hard to get. Don’t worry, I like a challenge.” Biting down hard on the inside of my cheek. Wishing he would take the hint and swiftly fuck off.

“I’m not playing anything. Just not interested.” Laughing now like I was a comedian doing a stand-up routine for him.

“I find that hard to believe. Come on, I can tell you fancy me.” Was he being serious right now? Rolling my eyes at him, wondering did this normally work for him?

“You really can’t read women, can you.” He wasn’t given the chance to respond.

Hog appeared out of thin air, towering over him. A fierce glare on his face, as terrifying as ever. The guy looked his way and I swear he trembled. Eyes widening as he took in the sheer size of Hog.

“Walk away, unless you want to lose the use of your legs.” Gulping at Hog’s warning. He grabbed his drinks and made a quick exit. Hog stayed trained on him until he reached his table, only then did he turn to look at me. A grin on his face, a devilish one at that.

“You enjoyed doing that too much.”

“Maybe, I did. He gives you anymore trouble, give me a shout.” Shaking my head at him as he wandered back to his table. I kind of got the feeling that Hog saw me as his little sister. Someone he would always protect. It would have been nice to have a big brother like him growing up. I doubt I would have gone through half the shit I did.

I clocked the guy giving me a look, a mixture of anger and lust. A dangerous combination. For his own sake, he should stay well clear. He tries anything with me, he will have the Kings to deal with.

“See you dealt with that idiot.” Jane seemed pleased that someone had put him in his place.

“Yeah, well Hog handled it in the end.” She chuckled.

“I figured he might try it since him and his buddies were talking about you when they first come in. He was pretty adamant he could get you to go home with him.” Great, just what I didn’t want to deal with.

  “Seriously?”

“Deadly serious. You should have heard him. ‘I’m going to have her by the end of the night.’ Oh, my personal favourite was ‘can’t wait to have her lips around my cock’.” Cringing from that information. That would not be happening.

“His lucky Hog and Mac didn’t hear him.” I can imagine the way they would have reacted.

“Is it bad that I kind of wish they did?” I chuckled at her. She wasn’t alone in that thought. Part of me wished they had heard him too. At least that way I wouldn’t have to deal with him again.

Leaving her to her fantasies, I went back to work. Counting down the minutes until I could finish.

I just prayed that I didn’t get any more trouble off that guy. Hopefully, Hog’s polite warning was enough to keep him away. I don’t think he would be so nice next time.

Thankfully, it was dying down now. Drawing near to closing time, I couldn’t wait. Eager to get home to my King. I hadn’t seen or heard from him since this afternoon. I was getting worried.

Serving a regular down the far end of the bar. Chatting away to me, completely harmless. He peered over my shoulder and immediately tensed. Grabbing his drink, he all but ran away. What the hell?

Glancing over my shoulder now to see what had spooked him. I found the reason why instantly.

  Talon.

Standing down the other end of the bar with a massive smirk on his face. I couldn’t help but smile softly at him, happy that he was here. I was starting to think something bad had happened.

Heading over to him. He leaned forward, elbows resting on the bar as he watched me stroll towards him. Those eyes of his running up and down my shivering body. Remembering how he had left me earlier. Panting with ravenous need for him. Seeing him now, brought it all back to life. Igniting those teasing flames that licked between my thighs. Hungry to have him buried right there. Fucking me just how I craved.

“What can I get for you?” His eyes burning into mine. I knew what he wanted. It was the exact same thing I wanted.

“A beer and to finish what we started earlier.” Biting my lip at the thought of him carrying me out of here so he could have his way with me.

“I’m at work.” Placing his beer in front of him.

“Didn’t stop us earlier. If your friend hadn’t of walked in, I would have fucked on you that counter.” Leaning on the bar now as well, bringing me closer to him. I could close the gap and kiss those enticing lips of his. His eyes darted down. I knew from this position he had a good view down my top, no wonder he licked his lips.

“Is that right?” Pulling his eyes back up to mine, I could see a naughty twinkle in them.

“We have unfinished business Hazel.” Yes, we did. I had been frustrated since he left earlier. I mean we shouldn’t be having sex here, but he was right, if we hadn’t been interrupted then I wouldn’t have stopped him. I had to change the subject, I was burning up, not to mention my damn panties were getting damp just thinking about it.

“How was your meeting?” He knew what I was doing. More than capable of reading me like a book.

  “It was informative.”

“Is that all I’m going to get?” He picked up one of my hands, raising it to his lips, brushing soft kisses across my knuckles.

“For the best darling, don’t want you involved with club business.” I understood that. I knew he was looking out for me, not wanting me tangled up in it.

“I get it. Did you get to chat with you mum?” She had been trying to talk to him for this past week, but he kept avoiding it. From the way he just groaned like he was in pain, I guess he wasn’t able to avoid her any longer.

“I did, unfortunately.” Frowning at him.

“Was it that bad?” Nodding at me like I had no idea just how bad it was.

“That feels like an understatement. She kept telling me I better be taking real good care of you. Making sure you are well and truly satisfied. Tried to give me pointers as well.” I burst out laughing, Talon was not impressed. Oh god, I wish I had been there to see that.

“I’m sorry but it is funny. Though, if it makes you feel any better, I don’t think you need any pointers.” Smirking at me now.

“Glad you think so, love.” Leaning forward, pressing his lips against mine. So sweet but far too short. I wanted more…but I was at work.

“Oh, she also wants to do a family dinner.” Standing up straight now.

“Ok.” That didn’t sound too bad. I’m sure they would have fun. I mean the food would be to die for.

“She wants you there as well.” My eyes went wide. Had I misheard him?

  “Me?”

“Your apart of our family now, love.” I couldn’t help but smile. It was something I longed to hear.

“When is this dinner?” Way too excited to be included.

“Tomorrow evening.” My mood plummeted then, knowing I wouldn’t be able to go.

“I’ll be working. It’s not like I can get anyone to cover me. Plus, if its anything like tonight then there’s no way I can leave Jane to do it on her own.” I really wanted to go; I’ve never been to a family dinner before.

“You let me worry about that.” What could Talon do? We were in limbo right now. An owner who didn’t want the place hoping to sell as soon as possible. It’s not like he would let us hire anymore staff.

“Talon, I’m sure there will be more family dinners in the future. I’ll just have to miss this one.” Much to my disappointment.

“Hazel, leave it to me.” I don’t know what he planned on doing, but I could see the determi
nation in his eyes.

He went and joined the others, leaving me to get back to work. Serving some people, though, I felt his eyes on me. Observing me as I worked, keeping a very close eye on me.

Zach came and helped us out here, since he was all finished up in the kitchen. He just pottered around collecting glasses and clearing tables. It was an extra set of hands which was always nice to have.

“Hey.” The guy from earlier was stood in front of me. Please tell me he wasn’t about to try again. He would regret it.

“Did you want another drink?” Leaning on the bar, trying to get closer to me. I stood my ground, not letting him intimidate me.

“Look, I think we got off on the wrong foot. I think your stunning and I would really like to take you out some time.” He was switching up strategies thinking it would win me over.

“No thanks.” Pouting his lips at me like it would change my mind.

“Come on.” Giving me puppy dog eyes, hoping it would guilt me into going out with him. “Or maybe after you finish you could come back to mine. I promise, I’ll show you a good time.” How was he not taking the hint? I don’t think I could make it any clearer.

“Not going to happen.” His eyes darkened as his masked slipped a little, not as nice as he seemed. No, he had that nasty streak in his eyes. My stepfather had that same tinge in his eyes.

“What have I got to do to get you to come home with me? You like a bad boy? I can be a bad boy for you. Anything to get between those legs of yours.” Biting down hard on my jaw, anger rolling through me. Who the fuck did he think he was? Speaking to me like that?

“Why don’t you take the hint? I’ve said I’m not interested. So, why don’t you get the hell out of here since you don’t seem to understand the word no.” He slammed his fist down onto the bar, the sound echoed throughout the room. Bringing everyone to halt. I felt everyone lock onto us, or rather onto him. Silence fell over the entire bar, wondering if this idiot had lost his mind.

My whole body tensed up, I knew that look on his face, I had seen it before. It was a look Nathan have given me. The kind of look that promised pain.

My heart was hammering against my chest. Hands balled into fists. Trying my damn hardest not to tremble in fear. Not wanting to give him that power.

“Stop playing hard to get. It’s getting annoying now.” The sound of chairs scraping on the floor caught my attention. I didn’t even need to look to know who it was. I felt him moving, coming to protect his Queen.

“When a woman says no, she means no. Now, if I was you, I would get the fuck out of here and don’t come back.” He looked possessed with anger now.

“You fucking bitch. You-” He never got to finish what you were saying. Talon appeared next to him, grabbing him by the scruff of the neck. Smashing his face against the bar, holding him there. The guy tried to struggle but it was pretty pointless against Talon.

“What the fuck did you just say to her?” My eyes couldn’t look away from Talon. He was…hypnotising. He was the picture of calm, but his eyes showed the truth. Showed the violent rage roaring within him.

“Get the fuck off of me.” Mac and Hog appeared then, surrounding this prick. It was Mac who spoke though.

“You got a death wish? Speaking to her like that?” Hog sat down on the stool next to the guy, making eye contact.

“I did warn you to leave her alone.” The guy huffed in frustration.

“What’s it got to do with you lot anyway.” Talon’s eyes were gleaming with fury. He looked ready to murder this guy.

“She’s my Queen.” His words nothing more than a growl.

“I didn’t know she was one of your sluts.” Everything around us seemed to still for a few seconds. Frozen in disbelief. Maybe Mac was right, maybe he did have a death wish.

Talon brought his fist down on the guys face. I heard the crunch of bone. Shit…was that his nose? Hearing the way, he cried out, I’d say so. Letting the guy drop to the floor now. I heard the loud thump when he made contact with the ground. This guy, he was going to learn the hard way what kind of mistake he had just made.

“Get him the fuck out of here.” Hog yanked him up by the back of his shirt, dragging him towards the door. Nobody stopped him or got in their way. They weren’t stupid enough to fuck with the Kings. Mac gave me a nod before he followed behind them, ready to deliver one hell of a beating.

Jane was at my side then. Her hand holding on to mine, letting me know she was with me.

Talon made eye contact with me now. Searching mine to make sure I was alright. Making sure he hadn’t scared me.

“You ok?” I just nodded. Not sure I could speak right now. My emotions were…messed up. I should be afraid or disgusted by what just happened. Yet, I was a raging bundle of hormones. Heating up for him. Turned on by what he just did. What the hell was wrong with me?

“You stay in here.” Taking my silence as the answer to his question. Not saying anything else, he stomped out of here.

“Is it wrong for me to be turned on right now?” Glancing over at Jane, I wanted to hug her right now. So glad it wasn’t just me.

  “You’re not the only one.”

Leaving them out front while I went to cash up. Needing a second to collect my thoughts. As I moved away, I heard Jane telling everyone to drink up as we’re closing up. That way by the time I’m finished, they would be all done out here.

I was more than ready to go home. Wanting to curl up in bed with my man as he devoured my body the way I needed right now.

When Talon was finished with that prick, I knew he would come find me. So, I cashed up while I waited for him to make an appearance.

After a few minutes, I heard the scuff of heavy footsteps heading my way. Peeking over at the door, I found Talon standing there.

“Hey.” Leaning against the door frame, his eyes were trained on me. I noticed his bruised and bloody knuckles. He would need to ice them.

“You ok?” I just nodded. I could tell he was worried that he had frightened me. Little did he know, I was anything but afraid.

  Gesturing towards his hands.

“You should ice them. They must hurt.” Shrugging as if it was nothing.

“I’ve lived with worse.” Going over to him now, I ushered him over to the chair.

“Sit there, I’ll go grab some ice, tough guy.” Scoffing at me as I wandered the door to get some ice for those hands of his. Filling two bowls up, I found Jane doing the same for Hog and Mac. Great minds think alike.

Taking the ice to Talon, placing it in front of him.

“Put your hands in there Mr.”

“This isn’t necessary.” Resting my hands on my hips. Giving him my best ‘don’t argue with me’ look.

“Put your hands in the ice.” Staring at me with defiance in his emerald eyes. Taking a deep breath, I tried a different approach since he was trying to be a big tough guy who doesn’t need fussing over.

Standing in front of him now, my hands cupped his face. His eyes were the perfect height to admire my breasts. Fluttering my eyelashes at him. Running my fingers along his jawline, the stubble tickled my fingertips. Whispering to him.

“Please ice your hands, I’m rather fond of them. I need them in good working order.” A spark of primal hunger glowed in his eyes, registering what I was saying. Needing no more convincing, he shoved his hands in the ice.

“Thank you.” Leaning towards him, kissing him softly. Trying my best not to smirk at him.

Once I was all done, I turned to look at him. He had been watching me very intently, not saying anything. Almost like he was afraid too.

“Did I scare you?” The first words out of his mouth. I could tell he was worrying about it. No doubt thinking the worse.

  “No, you didn’t.”

“I just...the way he spoke to you. I couldn’t help it, I lost my shit, love. His lucky I left him breathing.” He was lucky indeed. Talon had a ferocity about him. He tried to keep the worse of it away from me, not wanting to
terrify me. But I was very much aware of his vicious nature.

I knew what kind of man he was. Deadly and brutally violent. But he was mine. My King and I wouldn’t change anything about him. I needed the dangerous man that rippled beneath the surface. I needed all of him.

“Talon, you didn’t scare me. Trust me, you did the complete opposite.” Confused by what I was saying.

  “What?”

“You…fuck, I was turned on.” Shamelessly admitting the truth.

“Hazel.” Looking up into those dreamy pools of green, seeing nothing but fiery desperation there.

“I’m so fucked up in the head. I swear-” He was on me before I could say anything else. I was in his arms, hoisted into the air as he spun me around, pinning me against the wall. Wedged between him and a brick wall, what a delicious predicament.

“There aint nothing fucked up about that Hazel.” Feeling him like this, it was sheer bliss. I could feel him growing hard, pressing against me, just where I needed him. All those glorious inches of him, teasing me until I was nothing but a mess for him. Burning so brightly for him.

“It feels fucked up.” His inviting lips hovering so close to mine, taunting me.

  I couldn’t breathe.

“I like knowing you got all hot and bothered by that shit.” Putting his finger to my lips, I gasped from the shock of it. Icy cold from where it had been in the bowl of ice. Wicked thought’s swirling around in that head of his.

Trailing that ice-cold finger along my jawline, down my neck. Tracing the veins that were pulsing out of control. My teeth nibbled on my lip as his finger danced along the neckline of my blouse. Sneaking his hand underneath my top, running over my shivering skin. Tickling my ribs. Slipping under my bra, taking my breast in his rough hand, making me whimper. I couldn’t help but arch into his icy touch. Craving more.

“I’ve been dreaming about you all day, love.” He had been on my mind as well, unable to think of anything else. Just him and all the things I wanted him to do to me.
