A strong tongue met hers, running sensually around her own tongue, before invading her mouth and running all over, exploring her mouth. Her body undulated against the bed as she pressed her hands against that muscular chest, hands rising up to circle the man’s shoulders.

  “Camila…”

She shivered when her name fell from those delectable lips, still pressed against hers. Her imagination didn’t do the voice justice, but it was enough to get her to react. The man’s lips pulled away from hers, and she felt the tip of his nose nudge her chin up, so he could press kisses to her neck, sliding up and down, then nibbling lightly on her earlobe, licking the hollow beneath her ear.

Camila squirmed under the hard body holding her down. When she felt a knee parting her legs, she spread them open eagerly, arching her back and grinding her hips upward. She gasped when she felt a hot, thick rod press against her sex. She rubbed herself against the man’s erection, wanting him inside her already. She clutched her fingers in his hair as she let out a moan, and felt him suck on her neck as he shifted his hips and rubbed himself against her.

His hands were roaming over her body, and it felt like they were touching her everywhere at once. Around her back, over her stomach. One palm pressed to her breast, squeezing rhythmically, another holding onto her hip, just tightly enough that she knew it would leave a mark later.

The man above her shifted once more, raising his head as she felt his sex tease at her entrance. Her eyes fluttered open to take in the man’s face, just as his cock slid in her body in one deep, smooth thrust.

Even with them having the same face and build and everything, Camila felt her eyes widen as she called the name of the man above her.

  “Samuel!”

Camila startled out of the dream with a gasp, and she couldn’t be sure, but she thought she might have called his name out loud. It was definitely Samuel, not Adrien that she’d seen in her dream, and she wondered why. Even in that situation, there was no mistaking it. Not that she knew what either of them would look like in bed, but with the air Adrien gave off, she felt he would have a mischievous look as he took his partner.

Unlike the Samuel in her dreams, with the same hard expression, the same hard eyes, but with unmistakable passion just barely hidden behind that hard look, his firm jaw clenched as he tried to control himself, to give his partner pleasure and not just take.

What the hell am I even thinking? she thought, sitting up as she ran a hand down her face and looked around.

She was in her apartment in the city, in her own bedroom. She’d left her curtains open, so even with the lamp off, there was still some light coming in from outside, since New York wasn’t a city that slept easily.

I can still feel it…that dream. It was so damn vivid.

Her body was still trembling, as if she could remember the sensation of that hard body pressing her down into the mattress, parting her thighs and sliding into her. Her body shuddered, her hard nipples brushing against her sleep clothes as she breathed, sending shivers down her spine, an uncomfortable throbbing between her thighs. She felt, if she touched herself just a little, she would come. But there was no way she was going to touch herself when she felt so confused.

Adrien…or Samuel. Who would I think of when I orgasm? They might have the same face, but they are still two different people.

Camila groaned as she dropped back down in her bed, throwing an arm over her eyes.

But…if it really was Samuel…could he treat me like that?

The thing that startled her most, probably, wasn’t so much that it was Samuel she dreamed of, but how he was with her. He treated her with such tenderness and skill, and it only confused her, because it was not in line with his character at all. Camila couldn’t picture a man like Samuel Kane acting tender toward anyone.

After a long moment of confusing thoughts swirling through her mind, she calmed down enough, and managed to fall asleep without even realizing.

When she next woke up, the light from outside was brighter, a clear indication that it was morning already. She sighed and rubbed her eyes as she got up and slipped out of bed. Feeling groggy, she made her way out of her room, to the bathroom. She knocked, but got no reply, so she pushed the door open and went in, locking the door behind her.

First, she brushed her teeth, taking a good look at herself in the mirror. She had her eyes squinted, and she had bed head, her blonde hair sticking up in all directions. She grumbled to herself as she tried to fix the mess that was her hair and finished brushing her teeth at the same time. After rinsing out her mouth, she stripped down and got in the shower. The water took some time to warm up, and she stood aside until it was warm enough, then slid under the water. She picked up the liquid soap, and as she lathered herself up, her breathing started to pick up, her body heating up.

After she’d woken up from that erotic dream, she had fallen into a dreamless sleep until morning, but that didn’t mean she’d forgotten all about it. If anything, she doubted it would leave her alone, and she was tempted, as she ran her hands over her breasts, and between her thighs, to get herself off.

  “Camila!”

The shout of her name from the other side of the bathroom door made her jump and squeak, her arms folding over her chest as she bit her lip, like she’d been caught doing something wrong. It was just her mom, and there was no way she would know what Camila was doing. Really, this was the only downfall to still living with her mom—relationships were complicated, and so was lust.

“Y-yeah!” she called back, rinsing herself off quickly. “Did you need something? I’m in the shower!”

“I can hear that! Just wanted to let you know you should hurry up and come get breakfast before it grows cold!”

  “Okay,” she called back.

She must have gotten up pretty late if her mom beat her waking up, she even had breakfast made already. She hurried the shower and stepped out in another minute, pulling a towel around her body and grabbing her sleep clothes, then she hurried back to her room to get changed. Another five minutes, and she was leaving her room, dressed in track pants, a t-shirt and hoodie, with slippers on her feet, dressed all casual since she’d be home working all day.

“Hey, Mom,” she said airily as she served herself some coffee. “Sorry for taking so long.”

“It’s not a bother,” her mom answered dismissively. “And it’s your own fault if you eat cold food for breakfast, anyway.”

Her mom was already seated, with plates served, one of them covered, and she imagined that was hers. Camila sat across from her mom and uncovered her plate, then picked up the toast, a butter knife, and the bottle of jelly to apply on the toast.

“Did you get all your work done already?”

Camila shrugged, taking a bite of her toast. “Well, if you mean the interview with that one guy, that’s over and done with already. The post should be up on the blog by next week, as long as their side doesn’t have a problem with it, so for now we’re just waiting. In the meantime, I’m researching some other projects I’ll be taking on.”

  “Hopefully something safer,” she muttered.

Camila rolled her eyes. “Like this one is dangerous?”

Her mom just gave her a look, then asked, drily, “How did your date go?”

Camila bit down on her lip. She’d debated not telling her mom about it, but in the end decided there was no point in keeping it a secret. Plus, it wasn’t like she could have hidden it well with how giddy she’d been acting over it, her mom guessed something was up and Camila ended up telling her just so she would let her leave the house yesterday.

“So, you might have been right,” she admitted after a short silence, letting out a sigh, then taking a sip of her coffee. “Turns out, one of the siblings Samuel mentioned was a twin brother.”

Her mom’s eyebrows shot up. “Identical, or…”

“They’re so identical it’s jarring. I couldn’t even tell them apart at first. But there’s definitely some differences.
We ended up sitting together for a while and I realized that Samuel’s kind of a jerk. I don’t know if he just doesn’t like his brother or what, or if he had something against him. Oh, but the brother was totally charming.”

Camila could have added that he also asked her out to dinner, but she decided not to in the end. It wasn’t a detail her mom needed to know, anyway, and it would only stress her out.

“No matter how charming, do not get taken in,” her mom said. “Try not to get involved with either of them, okay? The fact that there’s two of them now actually worries me more than anything else does at the moment.”

Camila sighed. Her mom was acting wary, but that was nothing new, because her mother was always wary.

“Whatever you say, Mom,” she said distractedly, taking another bite of her toast.

  Chapter Five

Camila sat in her room, at her desk, dressed in her most comfortable sweats. They were baggy, but soft, the top of the sweatshirt so large that the neck bared one of her shoulders and the end of the sleeves fell past her fingers. They were meant for someone a size bigger than her, but they were warm, so she loved them.

She had her computer in front of her, with her browser open and a few searches waiting for her to start going through them. She was doing research for her latest project. She wasn’t in much of a hurry, Samuel’s interview was yet to come out, though it would definitely be happening soon, and it was enough to give her some time to relax in between projects. The blog was professional, after all, and there were several people there to provide content for posts, so she rarely had to work back to back, which usually meant more time to scope out her new project before she set out. She hadn’t been given much time when it was Samuel, though, probably because the boss hadn't been sure it would happen.

Thinking of Samuel brought her thoughts to his twin brother, Adrien, and the date that he’d yet to ask her out to. Technically, he’d already asked, so the date was probably going to happen, but she hadn't heard from him since she left their place.

  He’s…not going to forget, right?

Camila didn’t think he would, but it would be a lie if she said she wasn’t anxious. Actually, she didn’t really think this date would even happen. Adrien was too charming and someone too out of her league for her, but it wasn’t like she could just say no to an invitation of his. They’d exchanged info and he’d texted to say the date was totally on, and that was it.

Why are you so impatient? She sighed. It’s only been a few days!

That was the part that really bothered her. It hadn't even been that long since she last saw him and she was already this anxious. When was the last time she felt that way about any relationship? She really couldn’t remember. Then again, she couldn’t say she’d dated a lot, and the few guys she had been out with, had all lasted long and ended badly.

Camila sighed and leaned forward, folding her hands on her desk and leaning her chin on them. It practically folded her body in half, since she had her feet up on the seat, knees pushed out to accommodate her new position, but if there was one thing she could boast about, it was how flexible her body was. She got plenty of exercise and liked to walk, so her body was in perfect shape.

Maybe I should go out to the gym? she thought. I’m supposed to be working, but I don’t think I can work like this.

It had been a while since she last got to go to the gym. Because she lived in New York City, Camila often had to be creative. She couldn’t afford a gym membership, so she was only an occasional guest at such establishments. She got to move around a lot, which was good, but there were times like now when all she could do was hole up in her room and try to keep busy.

Camila thought about going to Central Park, but that place could only remind her of Samuel now, and of course she hadn't forgotten that erotic dream he’d starred in. She could feel her face warm up just thinking about it. She could always do some stretches and exercises in her room, but she liked more room to breathe than her room allowed. Maybe she should think about going out on a trip somewhere? It might be good enough to pull her mind back from the rut it was falling into as she focused on the two Kane brothers.

  “Camila?”

She raised her head toward the door at a yell from her mother.

“What is it, Mom?” she called back.

“I’ll be going outside for a bit, but I’ll be back before its dark, okay? I left some lunch in the kitchen for you, just warm it up when you feel hungry. Look after yourself, okay?”

“All right, Mom,” she said with a roll of her eyes.

Her mom liked to treat her like a child still. She even worried when Camila didn’t come home till late, even though she was too old to have a curfew. But if Camila were honest, she worried for her mom just as much.

For a time in their lives, they had been separated due to unavoidable circumstances with their years apart. Camila had hated it, but she could only imagine how bad it had been on her mom. The two of them only had each other in this world, after all.

While her mom continued to play the role of mom, Camila took it all without question. She didn’t always do what her mom wanted. For example, her mom would be worried if she stayed out late, but it wasn’t as if Camila had a curfew. Even living with her mom, she was still an adult, and she knew how to look after herself.

In reality, Camila was a lot more worried when her mom went out.

Her mom didn’t have any friends, not that Camila knew of. If she had once upon a time, then they were all long gone. There were only so many places she would go when she was outside, too, and this was the true reason for her anxiety.

She must have been going out to a bar.

Camila knew her mom had changed in the time they had been separated, and one of the ways was her change of habits. She didn’t have a job, Camila didn’t need her to because she was working hard to support the both of them. After all, her mom had done the same for her when she was young, why would she not repay the favor? The problem was, her mom wasn’t content with this, so if she wasn’t going to a bar, she was probably job hunting, but she would end up at a bar and come home late in the evening. Being the daughter, she couldn’t say anything, but she still worried.

Now more than ever, she didn’t think she could work, and she sighed as she buried her head into her folded arms.

Not long after, her phone rang, rousing her again, and she looked up with a frown. She had the phone beside her laptop just in case. Since she’d left the Kane mansion, she hadn't been too far away from her phone. Now that it was ringing, though, she could only feel weary.

Still, it would be rude to just ignore whoever it was, and besides, she was bored and curious. She picked up the phone almost eagerly, only to scowl in disappointment and irritation when she saw the name flashing on her screen.

Why hadn't she deleted his number yet?

Camila thought of ignoring the call, but in the end decided to take it.

“What do you want?” she asked bluntly, her voice emotionless.

“Really, Camila. Is that any way to treat me?”

Camila sneered, even though he couldn’t see it, but she just couldn’t be calm when talking to this person.

Jordan Nelson was a man a couple years her senior that she’d met on one of her jobs. He was her latest ex-boyfriend, and they’d been together for over a year before they broke up. That had been months ago, but the bastard still kept calling her, acting like they were close, while she kept wondering how she could have put up with his shit for a full year.

“If you don’t mind, I’m busy with a project right now. If there’s nothing you want, I’m hanging up,” she threatened.

“Don’t be like that,” he said, practically crooning, his voice persuasive. “We haven’t chatted for a while and I missed you. Let’s talk a bit, yeah?”

Camila gritted her teeth and clenched her hand around her phone, but even though she knew she should hang up, she didn’t.

In a way, Camila had always been weak to Jordan
, and she knew it. Her other exes, she had separated from cleanly, and it was mostly mutual. It was sad, but it wasn’t enough to keep her down. Her relationship with Jordan was a little different, though.

She couldn’t say she had been too young when she’d met him, because she was twenty-one at the time, legally considered an adult in every way. But back then, she was even more naïve than people said she still was now. Jordan was slick and seemed attracted to her naiveté, and after they separated, she wondered if that was the reason he had picked her to approach.

Jordan was good-looking, with tousled, curly blond hair and his almost pretty face. He wasn’t much taller than her, and his build was slim, so she wasn’t as nervous around him as she was around bigger males. With his pale skin and wide blue eyes, when he put himself to it, he could almost look innocent, and the first time he approached her, Camila had fallen for his trap. However, she had learned, much to her dismay, that he was also sloppy, and acted like an oversexed teenager even though he was a couple years older than her. The problem was Camila hadn’t known this until long after they’d already started dating.

Jordan considered himself smart. Much smarter than any woman, as he liked to put it. Camila hadn’t ever agreed. By the time they’d been dating for a while, she had a good grasp of his character, and he was definitely a man to be despised, but she didn’t know how to end it without drama.

Even now, she couldn’t bring herself to cut off contact with him completely, but mostly because he kept bothering her.

“I’m hanging up,” she said decisively.

While she was worried about starting up her dating life with Adrien, there was no way she could spare so much time to bother with Jordan.

“Not yet. I had a talk with your mom, and it was a bit of a shock so I just had to call you.”

Camila frowned, hesitating. “What do you mean you talked with my mom?”

Jordan sighed. “Well, your phone seemed unreachable for a while, so I called the phone in your apartment. Your mom was the one to pick it up, and she gave me some surprising news.”
