Sly: SBMC Maryland Page 3

“The fuck do you want?” he hisses in his face. The man’s eyes move from me back to Sly’s.

“Just paying you a friendly little visit. Seems after the last time I was here, things blew up,” the man says, causing Sly’s hand to tighten around his throat.

I don’t know what to say or do, so I step back. A few people wander past, but they don’t even blink an eye. Is this how much power his club holds around here?

“Oh yeah? Sorry to hear you weren’t a part of it.” Sly grits his teeth and gets into the man’s face.

“She’s new. Never seen her before,” the man says. I shift from foot to foot, wondering what the hell I’ve gotten myself into with him.

“She ain’t none of your concern, officer,” Sly snarls. Officer? He’s a cop? Oh my God.

“She might be.” With that, Sly pulls his free hand back, making a fist and slamming it into the man’s face. The guy howls in pain before Sly releases him. The man bends over holding his now bloody face before he looks back up.

“You’re going to pay for that shit! We know you have something to do with it, Sly! You fucking bastards always do!”

“So the crooked cop says,” Sly says easily with a smirk on his face. I don’t know what to say. I’m stunned into silence.

“You should run from them! They are bad news, lady!” the man on the ground howls. Sly laughs, pulls me into his side, and holds me there.

“Keep talkin’ shit, Brewer, and you’ll end up like your boys.” It’s a threat. Shit! Sly turns us and starts to walk away when the idiot on the ground speaks again.

“Nice piece of ass you can pass around to your club, huh? Do you have no respect for whores?”

The man’s words piss me off, but it isn’t me that moves. It’s Sly. He turns so quickly that I barely see him until he grabs the back of the guy’s head and brings his knee up to slam into his face.

“Apologize to the lady!” Sly roars. The man spits blood onto the ground before looking up at me. There’s a pleading in his eyes. For what? For me to help him? For me to run?

“Sorry,” he mumbles as blood flows down his chin and drops onto the ground.

“Ever disrespect a woman next to me again and I’ll slit your goddamn throat.” With that Sly releases him, letting him fall to the ground before strolling back toward me and wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

“What the hell was that?” I ask, shocked at what I just witnessed.

“That was nothin’. Don’t worry about it.”

  “You called him officer.”

  “And?”

“Is he… shit! Is he a cop?” I ask, nearly squealing as I do. Sly chuckles and stops walking so he can look down at me.

  “Yeah, so?”

“What do you mean so? You just kicked his ass!” His hands come up to cup my cheeks and I jerk slightly. Sly saw it too.

“I wouldn’t hit you. Not in that way, Fab. Just because a person has the label of cop doesn’t mean they are good people.”

I open my mouth, unsure what to say here. I don’t have to say anything when Sly leans down, pressing his lips to mine. I’m lost in the haze that is this man.

  Chapter Six

The joint hangs from my lips as the guys talk freely. They are all aware of the run-in with Brewer the other night. They haven’t dealt well with having him around again. He isn’t shit we need to worry over though.

“You been spendin’ a lot of time with that girl,” Wolf says bringing his beer to his lips as he looks at me.

  “And?”

  “And nothin’. Just sayin’ brother.”

“I like her. So fuckin’ what?”

“Damn, she ain’t givin’ it up, is she? You cranky old bastard,” Gauge laughs.

“Fuck you. Life isn’t about who you’re fuckin’.” The guys all share a look before they burst into laughter. I flip them off and take another drag from my joint when the front door opens. Glancing over my shoulder, I see Temple with a huge smile on her face and Fab carrying the baby. Something squeezes inside my chest when I see the smile on her face.

“Damn,” Shaft mumbles. “She looks happy as hell with that baby. Your cock still work, Prez?”

The laughter is loud, catching the attention of the girls. They both look over at the same time and my heart beats faster in my chest. Fab’s smile slowly fades as she passes the baby back to Temple. She turns and heads for the door when I stand and follow. Temple smiles and I give her a little nod before walking out and finding Fab standing against the side of the clubhouse, her head in her hands.

“What’s wrong?” I ask when I hear her sob. She looks up and the tears in her eyes rip me apart. I’ve grown to like this girl. I move closer, grabbing her by the back of her neck and pulling her closer to me. She wraps her arms around my waist and sobs into my shirt.

“What’s goin’ on?” I ask as I run my hand up and down her back.

“It’s just, you guys are one big family. You have everything you could possibly want and need,” she cries. I lift her chin, forcing her to look up at me and when she does, my heart melts.

“You can have this too, Fab. You just gotta accept it.”

“What are you saying?” she asks looking at me like I’ve lost my mind. I run my thumb over her bottom lip, watching the way her body shivers when I do.

“I’m sayin’ I want you, Fab. I’m sayin’ that you can have all this and more. Just let yourself go. Whatever it is that’s holdin’ you back, just let it go.” I won’t lie and pretend I know everything there is to know about her, but I know enough. I know I like having her around. I know I feel content when she’s in my arms. I know that she listens and feels as much as I do.

“This is crazy. We barely know each other,” she whispers. I lean in and brush my lips over hers to silence her thoughts.

“I know I want you, Fab.”

  “What?”

“I want you. All of you.” Her eyes dance between mine before she kisses me. It isn’t a little kiss either. It’s a kiss full of want and need. It’s a kiss that has my head spinning. I reach down and grab her hips lifting her in my arms. Fab wraps her legs around my waist, pulling me closer to her. I groan and head in the door and straight through the clubhouse. I hear the guys and their smartass words. I don’t give a shit either. This has been a long time coming, and now that she’s accepted it, I’m not letting her go. Kicking my door closed, I move quickly to lay her on the bed. Her big brown eyes beam up at me with so much light, I want to grab hold and never let go. She’s gorgeous.

“Tell me what you want,” I demand her.

  “Not here.”

“What?” I’m confused. I stare down at her as she sits up on the bed.

“If I’m different, if I’m what you want, then take me to your house.” I get it. I do. I don’t take women to my house. Never have. I stand here in silence for a long minute trying to decide if this is the right thing to do. I like her - I do, but do I like her enough to take her to the one place that means everything to me? The one place where I can unwind? “I understand if you don’t want to, Sly.”

“It’s not that. I don’t just take women to my house, babe. If I take you there, you have to be sure. You have to be all in.”

She looks scared at the thought but then she climbs off the bed and stands tall in front of me, her eyes holding her strength. “Take me to your house, Sly.”

The slow smile curls my lips as I grab her and pull her against me.

“You sure about this?” She nods her head as her lips trail a hot path down my neck. My cock hardens in my jeans and I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up.

“I won’t let you go once I have you,” I whisper into her ear. She grinds against me, earning a growl that rips from deep within me.

  “Take me.”

I kiss her roughly once more before setting her on her feet and grabbing her hand in mine. We head back into the main room where Gauge stops me.

“Need a second,” he says looking a lit
tle off.

  “Now?” I nearly growl.

  “Yeah, now.”

  “Fuck.”

“It’s okay. I’ll go talk to Temple until you’re done,” Fab says pressing up to kiss my cheek. I nod and release my grip on her hand to follow Gauge into the other room.

“What’s goin’ on?” I ask watching as he fidgets slightly. Something is bothering him.

“We been doin’ a little research.”

  “What research?”

  “About the explosion.”

“What the fuck about it?” I growl.

“There were more people in there that we didn’t know about, Prez.” Gauge looks away and I know this isn’t going to end well. I can feel it all through my body.

“Who was in there?” I ask not really sure I want to know the answer.

“You know the regulars were there and Lauren. What we didn’t know at the time was that prick they had in as chief called in a few guys from Baltimore.”

Fuck! I run my hand through my hair letting out a sigh.

“Who was it?” Looking back over at Gauge, his eyes seem void. This isn’t good.

“Christopher Evans, Larry Topher, and Dan McKnile.”

“Fuck!” I roar, swiping the bottles off the table and listening as they shatter against the floor. The door flies open and Wolf steps in.

“What the fuck?” He asks looking around.

  “Call church,” I say gruffly.

“What the fuck is this?” Wolf asks.

“I said fuckin’ call church!” Wolf nods his head and walks back out of the room as Gauge stands there not saying a word.

  “Sorry, Prez. We didn’t know.”

“I know that. We have proof they were in there?” I look up at him and he nods his head.

  “Yeah. Coroner confirmed it.”

I walk over and sit in the chair at the head of the table, resting my head in my hands. This is fucked up. They weren’t supposed to be there! What the hell were they doing there?

  Chapter Seven

Sly’s been off since we got to his house. He’s drank beer after beer as I sit on the couch with the TV running. He isn’t looking at it or at me. Something is off with him.

“Are you okay?” I ask once more. I’ve asked once since we’ve been here, but he said he was fine. Clearly, he isn’t.

“You ever do somethin’ you fuckin’ regret?” he asks looking over at me. His eyes are glazed and distant. Is he talking about me being here? Shit.

“I can go, Sly. It isn’t a big deal,” I tell him. He huffs out a laugh but looks away. I’m about to stand when he talks again.

“I’m no saint. Never been one. I fucked up with my ex. I fucked up with my daughter. Everything I touch I fuckin’ fuck up!” he roars, throwing his bottle at the wall. It slams into it, shattering to pieces but Sly doesn’t move.

  “What did you fuck up?”

“People’s lives! I fuck up people’s goddamn lives, Fab!”

The lost look in his eyes bothers me but I also know what I’m doing here. I’m torn, on edge and lost in my own world. His chest rises and falls rapidly, his eyes darting around the room when I stand and move in front of him. Reaching for his hands, I move them so I can climb into his lap straddling him. His hands shake as I rest them on my hips. His eyes dart between mine as I reach up and grab is face in my hands.

“Kiss me,” I say softly. Sly shakes his head, trying to pull his face from my hands when I demand it louder. “I said kiss me, Sly.” My demand hits him hard. His eyes jerk back to mine, burning straight into me. He doesn’t kiss me softly. No, this kiss is consuming and rough. It’s dominating and I let him do it. What is wrong with me? Am I that desperate for answers that I will let him do this to me?

“I won’t be able to stop, Fabiola. I won’t.” His words send a surge through my body. His cock is hard under me and each time I move in the slightest, I can feel it harden more.

  “Don’t stop,” I whisper.

In seconds, he’s on his feet, carrying me up the stairs. He’s tearing at my clothes, ripping my shirt from the back until his nails dig into my skin. I gasp as he kisses me harder. His fingers move down my back, cupping my ass before he throws me roughly on the bed. My body bounces as he watches me. He rips his clothes off, tossing them on the chair as I shimmy out of my shorts. When I’m in nothing but my bra and panties, he shakes his head.

“All of it off,” he demands. I lift up and pull my panties off, kicking them to the side before slipping the bra down my arms. Sly’s eyes never leave my body, but his anger is still visible in his eyes.

“What are you going to do to me?” I ask softly. His lips curl into a smile as he grabs his cock in his hand and strokes.

“Whatever the fuck I want. You told me to take you. You asked for this shit,” he says as a chill dances down my spine.

“Are you going to hurt me?” I ask.

“If I want to. This is your last chance to run, darlin’. After this, I’ll ruin you in every goddamn way possible.” His words should have me on my feet, but they don’t. I can’t leave now. I know what I’m doing here or what I’m supposed to be doing here. That doesn’t change the fact that I have some sort of feelings toward him, but the reason I’m here isn’t clear anymore. No matter what the consequences are, I knew what I was getting into. I shake my head slowly as Sly climbs onto the end of the bed. His eyes are so distant, more so than I’ve ever seen them before. He grabs my thighs and spreads me wide. His mind is someplace else. He isn’t here with me and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not.

“Fuck!” I scream as Sly plunges inside of me. He doesn’t give me time to adjust to his size, he just takes what he needs. Like he said he would. He isn’t gentle. This isn’t what I was thinking would happen once we got here. In his room at the clubhouse, he was different. The mood was different - it was easier, lighter.

“Goddamn it,” Sly hisses as he spreads me wider. Lifting up, he grabs both my thighs and holds me open as he thrusts harder. Tears fill my eyes as he fucks me like a madman. I asked for this. I shouldn’t be crying but thoughts of my brother linger in the back of my mind. Thoughts of what I’m supposed to be doing here. I’m messing up. Why does it feel so right and so good with him though?

Suddenly, Sly stops moving, and I move my eyes to meet his. He looks at me, the gentleness that I saw in him earlier coming back. His lips part but words don’t form as he starts to pull out of me.

“I knew it,” he rasps before trying once more. I lock my legs around him, keeping him in place.

  “Knew what?”

  “You’re cryin’.”

  “It’s okay,” I tell him.

“I’m hurtin’ you. Just like everyone else.”

“I’m not everyone else, Sly. Please don’t stop.”

“I don’t wanna hurt you! Don’t you get that, Fab? The one good thing I found is you and now I’m fuckin’ that up too!”

His words rip through my chest. I reach up and wrap my hands around the back of his neck, pulling his lips to mine. I kiss him easily, gently. My heart is pulling me in one direction while my mind is pulling me someplace else. I’m a complete mess but I don’t want him to stop. Not now.

“I need you, Sly,” I whisper against his lips. His cock jerks inside of me and I moan into his mouth. He slowly comes back to me, moving his hips. Each glide of him inside of me causes me to clench around him. He groans and kisses me. His lips are soft, perfect even. A man who has ruined lives, a man who is ruthless as hell and yet there’s a subtleness about him that I crave. His contradictions shouldn’t make sense, but they do to me. What is wrong with me?

“You feel so good,” he whispers. He sits up, his thumb coming up to his mouth. I watch him suck it into his mouth before moving it to find my clit. Rockets shoot through my body, my back arching off the bed as he presses down. The faster he circles it, the higher I feel. Each thrust, each swirl. I come in a haze of bright lights. I scream his name, arch into him. A few more
thrusts and Sly comes too. His seed hits me deeply, filling me with all of his pent-up frustrations.

“I’ll never do that to you again,” he says as he places kisses down my neck. My fingers find the back of his neck, and I trail my nails along his scalp. He groans and jerks inside of me once more.

“You have done something no one has been able to make me do in months.”

  “What’s that, darlin’?”

  “Feel.”

  Chapter Eight

“Get the fuck up!” I roar as I aim the gun at the back of this guy’s head.

“I’m up, motherfucker!” he growls back. I smirk as he spins around, his hands in the air. I move closer, backing him into the wall behind him. His eyes are cloudy, like he’s been on an all-night bender. Judging by the shit in his room, he has been.

“I want answers,” I tell him. He smirks.

  “Don’t we all.”

“James Davies. You had one motherfuckin’ job to do. Just one. Find out who was on the inside of the local police station before we blew it. That was it. Seemed like an easy enough job, yeah?” His eyes narrow as he looks at me. This motherfucker, James, is the one we hired to stake out the police station before we blew it. He had strict orders to give us the name of every man inside. He didn’t do that.

“What the fuck, Sly? I told you every single person that was in there!”

“No, you didn’t. There were three others. Three that you forgot to mention!” I roar as Gauge comes to stand next to me. He pulls the pictures free of the dead burnt up bodies and tosses them at the asshole. He catches them and smirks.

“Should I be able to tell who the fuck this is?” he asks holding them up. I stuff my gun into the back of my jeans before pulling my knife free. Placing it at the base of his throat, I press just enough to get a little blood.

“You should since you knew they were in the motherfuckin’ buildin’!”
