Biggles Flies South

‘To a dinner of some sort, I think?’

‘Quite correct,’ agreed Biggles. ‘If we started to-morrow morning we might still get there in time.’

Ginger yawned. ‘Well, we seem to have seen all there is to see in Egypt, even things like oases which no one was quite sure existed. Sand is all right in small quantities, and it is even pleasant to look at by the seaside, but too much of it in one lump is apt to become monotonous. I, personally, am all for a change of scenery.’

‘Yes, I feel that a nice green field or two would do our eyes no harm,’ agreed Algy.

‘Then if you’ll be ready at the crack of dawn we’ll tootle along southward,’ Biggles told them, as he reached for the jug of iced lemon-squash that stood on the table.
