He rocked his hips to rub the length of his cock against her clit. They both were slicked with the action. It felt so good she had to tear her mouth from his. Her hands gripped his shoulders, nails digging in. “Please,” she pleaded.

His head burrowed against her neck and he placed hot, wet kisses on her throat. She turned to the side, baring for him, encouraging more. The feel of his teeth as they scraped her skin almost pushed her over the edge. He hadn’t even entered her and she was ready to come again. Was she normal? Or was he that desirous? She decided on the latter.

He spread his thighs, forcing hers wider apart and rolled his hips in a way that made his cock press tighter against the bundle of nerves on top of her pussy. The spot he’d sucked to completion.

  She whimpered with anticipation.

He stopped kissing her neck and whispered. “Easy, baby. I got you.”

Her body burned and she was so close to reaching another climax. Her body screamed for release. But she had to have him inside her. There was nothing like the connection between them.

She stared into his eyes. The vibrant blue shade mesmerized her. She was barely aware of him putting enough space between their hips until the broad head of his cock nudged against her entrance.

“Yes,” she urged. “Please. I want you deep in me.”

He pressed into her and his eyes closed. Her body parted easily, as she rolled her hips slowly until the thick crown of his cock eased through. His face tensed and he growled as he slowly entered her. She was so wet, he eased fully inside. The pleasure of being filled and stretched was exquisite.

  “Serepto,” she moaned.

His eyes opened. “Tell me if I hurt you. You’re so tight.”

  “You’ll never hurt me.”

She rolled her hips again and wrapped her legs tighter around his waist as she adjusted them until her heels pressed into his firm ass. She used them to pull tighter against him and his cock sank even deeper.

  “You feel so good.”

  “Shala,” he gritted.

His arms pinned her under him where he braced his weight with his elbows and his fingers curved under her shoulders to grip her. He withdrew a little and slid back in, making her take more of him. He held her gaze. His face was so beautiful, and she loved that they were sharing this.

  “Faster,” she urged. “Please?”

His mouth found the line of her throat and he kissed her skin as he began to move faster, his strong body pinning her down. The feel of his muscles rippling almost sent her into climax. His cock hit a spot inside her that made her cry out and her nails dug in deeper. Serepto bucked rapidly, finding a rhythm that was hard and fast.

Shala threw back her head and cried out as insane pleasure tore through her. Her vaginal muscles gripped his driving cock and her body seized from the intensity of it, rhythmically clutching him in her throes as she pounded out her release.

The veins in his neck stood out. She had the most incredible urge to trace them with her tongue, even now as her body throbbed in ecstasy.

Heat shot inside her as he came. She could feel every jet of his semen filling her as his hips slowed to sharp, short jerks and he kept his cock buried deep inside her. Another climax hit, shocking her, and she lifted her head to muffle the scream she couldn’t hold back against his chest. Her mouth opened on his smooth, delicious skin. She clamped down, tasting him with her tongue.

Finally Serepto’s head fell forward and his weight pushed her back flat. He panted against her skin, holding his hips still. Shala eased her grip and loosened the hold of her legs—still wrapped around his hips—as she began to relax. A sense of deep satisfaction filled her. This felt so wondrous. She and Serepto, the most natural thing in the world.

As for him, he hadn’t moved off her, seeming content to keep their bodies joined while he held her close to him.

“Life is perfect,” Serepto whispered near her ear. “My dreams have all come true. I’d planned on wooing you slowly, even if it took an entire lifetime. Instead, you seduced me. There’s a certain level of satisfaction in that.” Sure enough, he looked smug.

“I just wish we could get safely home. I’d seduce you much more there.”

“We’ll be home before you know it. You don’t have to worry, Shala.”

“I don’t trust the new beam the Zetans have developed. It scares me.”

“Orion will create a shield before we can blink. We just need to get in the vicinity to pick up the waves.”

“But everyone will risk themselves by going down to that wretched planet. Who knows how many we’ll lose?”

“It’s possible we’ll lose no one, beautiful. Not one single person. We have skilled warriors with the AI, inside information with you, Arian and Orion having lived there, and now the hidden resources of our two new Cyborgs. There’s never been such a great team assembled.”

Well, when he put it like that, it did seem silly to be so nervous.

“I will always protect you, Shala. I will destroy every Zetan in the universe who dares to touch you.”

Clouds rolled across the simulated sky, and a crack of thunder sounded.

“A lightning storm, Serepto?” she asked, raising one brow.

He smiled. “That’s our sign that others approach or wish for us to return. In other words, Tess is notifying us that our time here is up.”

“I guess we better get dressed before the programming leaves us naked in a bare room,” she said, smiling at the thought.

They began to get dressed. “Serepto?”

  “Hmm?”

“Thank you for creating such a beautiful place.”

“Of course, my love. I always want to make you happy.”

“One day I’d like to learn more about you. How you lived, before.”

“Why?” He looked completely baffled. And completely adorable.

“What makes me happy is learning about you. Everything. I want to know your memories. Your enjoyments. Your tastes.”

“That seems like a waste of time,” he said.

She leaned over, buttoning the top button of her blouse. “Humor me.”

They walked hand in hand to the main hull, and for once, he allowed her to walk. He didn’t hover, waiting for the chance to pick her up and carry her.

Life was good. Now they just had to get home, where they’d be safe.

  Chapter Four

“Welcome back,” Jax said, as soon as the doors opened. “We decided to dock at the Benton Six trading post. No one will ever expect it. Since four of us went in last time, we’ll shake things up and head out with a crew of three. Shala will be safe on board with the AI crew. Orion thinks we can get a better—and quicker hacking reading—if a few us of are down there capturing that angle when the Zetans use their beam.”

“It’ll be completely safe,” Orion said. “Their organic beams take forty-eight hours to charge once used. They have one shot to get the Cyborg on board, and then they’ll have to wait to reuse it.”

“But what if they decide to use it on us instead?” Shala asked.

“They can’t,” Orion said. “I can have an undetectable shield up surrounding the three that leave the ship. A separate shield protects the ship itself. All they can do is fire at us, and frankly, we’re the bigger ship, remember? They’re just cruisers, built for speed.”

“I don’t want to be away from Serepto.” She gripped his fingers.

“Baby, you’ll be safer on board. The ship is better protected than the smaller shield will be.” Serepto leaned in, kissing her.

“I’ll be really upset if so much as a scratch happens to you,” she warned.

“Let’s do explore that spanking realm between us,” he teased. He laughed at her appalled face.

“Quit, lovebirds. You’re gagging me.” Tian’s voice came over the loudspeaker.

Orion rolled his eyes. “Sorry. I forgot to tell you Tian is connected. I asked for his help in remotely reading the waves from your end while I configure the waves
from their vessel. He promised to be good, but he’s already riled up Blade and Rush. Called them Raid and Blush.”

The Cyborgs stood near the exit. One had his arms crossed over his chest, the other had clenched fists.

Shala offered the two men a small smile. “You’ll learn to love Tian. Once you meet him.”

“I have a face only a mother could love,” Tian added loudly. “And Shala.”

“He’s so beautiful he was asked to be a model on Zeta,” Arian said. “His father was highly insulted. He had much higher plans for his son than modeling underwear.”

  “Mother!” Tian’s voice sounded pained.

  Shala giggled.

“Knock it off or I’ll have Orion program Tess to rehearse your stats for all available single persons,” Arian countered, unperturbed. “Male or female. Doesn’t matter to me.”

Tian sighed. “I apologize, our Cyborg friends. I will make it up to you when you arrive on our planet.”

“That’s better,” Arian said, turning her attention to the rest of them. “Are we ready to go down?”

Orion docked the ship with a gentle bump. “Lower dock gravity is stabilized and merged with that of the trading post. Remember, you three just need to wander around. Stay within ten feet of each other to keep within the shield boundaries. When I notify you, flip your sensors on to record the beams. Tian will do the rest from his end.”

“So they will beam Ghost aboard their vessel?” Blade asked.

“Yes.” Orion smiled grimly. “And before they can recharge their beam or even reach Zeta, we will have a cloned, untraceable copy of the beam to bring Ghost here. They’ll have no idea what happened, because I’m using their own shields to scramble the waves.”

“Perfect.” Arian’s voice was short. “Let’s go.”

Rush and Blade stayed in the main hull with Orion, while the AI council members walked them down to the open docking port.

“I want you to be safe,” Serepto said, pulling Shala close. “Stay in our room and wait for me to return?”

  “Of course.”

He grinned. “I left you a surprise on the dresser.”

  “You did? What is it?”

“Would you be surprised if I told you what it was?” he chided, bending to kiss her. His lips twisted over hers, demanding she open for him. Against his mouth, she moaned softly, darting her tongue into his mouth to taste him. He slicked his tongue against hers, flicking it over and over, promising her more passion upon his return.

But then he pulled away. “I’ll be back as soon as I can, little love.”

“Be safe,” she murmured, knowing her eyes were practically glazed over from his kiss.

He nodded. “Everything will go smoothly. We just need to wait for the Zetans to use the beaming device so Orion can pick up on their soundwaves. They have no idea we’re here.”

She nodded and he gave her one more hard kiss. Then he turned and joined Arian and Jax on the dock. The AI stepped in, surrounding Shala protectively.

She watched as the entire wall lifted, and the three of them walked out onto the hover-ramp.

With one last wave, Shala turned to head down the hallway back to their room. Echo stepped in with her. “I’m heading up to the hull to grab a bite to eat. You want anything?”

“Nope. I’m going to our room to see what my surprise is.” She grinned.

“I’m not sure I want to know,” Echo teased.

Behind her, she heard the giant wall roll down, closing the three out.

Echo left her at the door of her quarters. When she entered the room she shared with Serepto, the first thing she did was turn to the dresser. There, sitting on top, was a funny, wristwatch-type of device. The viewing screen was rather large, making the entire bracelet look chunky. It looked more masculine than the delicate, pretty things he normally would have gotten her. The viewing screen was rather large.

  Odd.

Curious, she took it over to the bed where she lay down to inspect it. Perhaps she should have invited Echo in. He probably would know what this thing was.

“What did you leave me, Serepto?” she asked wonderingly. To her surprise, his picture popped up on the viewing screen. She giggled. He’d left her a bracelet that contained his picture? So she could stare at him while he was gone?

But that was okay. Because there was nothing she’d rather do than stare at Serepto. She lay down on the bed, placing the bracelet next to her on the pillow, where she could gaze at his image while she fell asleep.

She was a little tired after the rigorous exercise they’d been getting. Sleep would be welcome.

  A small beep woke her.

Bemused, she looked at the new wristwatch. His image was replaced with text. That was why the viewing screen was so large, she realized.

  How are you?

“It texts?” she squealed out loud. How? There was no keyboard. She found a small switch and pressed it. “How does it work?” she asked suddenly, flipping it round and round.

Her own words magically flowed across the screen came across the screen. Then his response.

Looks like you figured it out. Voice activation.

Well, this is the coolest device ever!

Another press of the button will enable audio. I didn’t have time to program my voice, so it will just use a basic computer voice.

She’d test that feature out later. For now, she preferred to read his texts. Who knows if she’d be out with the council later and forget it was set to speech? They’d know everything he said if the damn watch repeated it out loud. He could say something really naughty about the alone-time they’ve been spending together.

  Another text bleeped.

Oddly enough, he wasn’t sending her the usual love phrases he would normally, the phrases that Jax teased made him sound like a lovesick puppy. He was probably busy, unable to talk into the bracelet at all times on his end. No matter, she could understand. She spoke into the watch, and knew he’d respond if and when he could.

How is the mission? Find anything?

It took a few minutes for him to reply. Not yet. Is the wristwatch on you?

No. It’s on the bed next to me.

Wear it. At all times. As a safeguard.

  Safeguard? What kind of safeguard?

  In case I’m in trouble.

Oh, geez. She hadn’t thought of that. He would need a link to her in that case.

  Put it on.

He was being pushy, but she was used to that.

Press the sound button and I can instruct you verbally in case of an emergency.

Looks like she’d have to activate the voice command anyway. But his aggressiveness was concerning. Are you all right? I thought this mission would go smoothly?

  Fine.

She hadn’t realized how attached to Serepto’s loving, caring nature she’d become. It kind of hurt that he was so short with her.

  Is the voice activated yet?

She startled. Stars, the darned thing wasn’t even on her wrist yet. She reached for the device, fumbling as she hurriedly put it on and clicked the switch he wanted.

  Okay, okay. It’s done.

  Good.

He was right. The robotic voice wasn’t anything to write home about. It was bland and without tone-inflection. She shivered. Rather unfeeling.

  Silence again.

She began to worry. Maybe things weren’t going as smoothly as he claimed. Maybe that was why he was short with her and there were such long pauses between messages. He wouldn’t know if she sought out Orion to keep an eye on him.

Climbing out of bed, she made her way down the hall. “Tess, where is Orion?”

Her wristwatch went crazy. She flinched. He probably heard that. Shala? Answer.

She flipped the switch off, needing to talk to Orion in private.

Tess came over the loudspeaker. “He is in the control room, waiting for any hint of soundwaves to be activated, Shala.”

“Can you get him for me?”

&n
bsp; Orion’s voice replaced Tess. “Shala? Are you okay?”

“I am. I just wanted you to look at this wristwatch Serepto left me. It has his image and he’s able to text me through it.”

Orion cursed. “Damn AI. He should have brought it to me so I could disable any soundwaves from my search patterns. I don’t want that interfering with the waves I’m on the lookout for.”

  “Shall I bring it?”

  “Yes. Whenever you can.”

  “I’m on the way.”

He disconnected with a small blip, and she flipped her watch back on to see a flurry of messages.

  Shala…trouble…get you to safety…quick.

What? I don’t understand. What trouble?

Zetans. Here. Get down to the loading dock and hide in an escape shuttle for me. Don’t tell anyone. There’s no time.

She began to run down the hall, practically yelling into the watch. But I’m supposed to meet Orion.

No time. Hurry! Flip the voice enabling mechanism on so you can hear me.

She slipped the voice mode on, afraid she would miss a message.

In the loading dock, the temperature was cooler due to the thinner walls. It was set that way for emergencies. If there was a problem with the shields holding, a person could escape through the thin metal walls. Every loading dock was equipped with a waist-high device that resembled a rotary saw on wheels. It was automated and heavy, designed to rip a hole in the metal walls that a pod could escape through.

“Climb into the shuttle,” the computer voice—Serepto—instructed. “You will be safe until I can get to you.”

“But what if it’s set to eject?”

  “It is not.”

She opened a small pod that stood against the wall. A sound, like the whirring of a saw’s blade, distracted her.
