“Don’t worry, I’m 18. So unless you know a place that won’t ID, or you are ready to take me to Quebec, I’ll have to take a rain check.”
“Well, we don’t have to drink. Give me your number; we can meet up later. I mean, if you want, if you’re not embarrassed to hang out with some old dude.”
“You mean you actually want to be seen in public with me?”
He laughed. “Sure, why wouldn’t I? I don’t always dress up like this. Besides, I would like to get to know the woman I just had great sex with. If I don’t get to know you better, I could regret it for the rest of my life, with the only plus being that I’ve probably lived longer than I have left.”
She reached down and searched for his cock in his pants. When she found it, she could feel he still had some size. “If your cock is anything to go by, I’d say you have many years.”
They stared at one another and then broke into laughter.
“Sorry,” Chloe said. “That was a stupid fucking thing to say. I—”
Michael leaned in and kissed her. He realized in that moment that their passions had taken them over so completely that they never even kissed. He pulled her to his body as both drank deeply from each other’s mouth.
They were interrupted by some guy going into one of the stalls.
“Let’s go,” he whispered.
Michael peeked out their stall. They hadn’t even bothered to close their door, and wouldn’t have known if anyone had seen them fucking.
“Pretty exciting, huh?” he said.
She grinned.
He took her hand. Once outside the restroom, she went to the ladies’ restroom to freshen up. He went back to the men’s to do the same.
When they were on the platform, he waiting for the northbound and she for the southbound, he said, “I never had sex in public before. It was more of a turn on than I suspected.”
“Me neither,” she said. “It was hot.”
“But next time, let’s be somewhere we won’t be disturbed. Maybe you could spend a night at my place.”
Her stomach felt swarmed by butterflies, like one gets in free fall.
“Yeah, you bet.”
Epilogue
Chloe was just coming out of her station when her phone rang. She didn’t recognize the number so hoped it was Michael.
“Hello, Chloe?”
“Yes, who’s speaking?”
“Maggie from the Big Bong Theory.”
“Oh.”
“You missed the interview. I thought our phone call had gone well, so I was just wondering why you didn’t show.”
“It had nothing to do with you. I was running late, and my father used to say that if a person was late by more than fifteen minutes then they weren’t worth waiting for. So by 2:30 I gave up. I mean, I wouldn’t hire me.”
Maggie laughed. “That’s sweet, but you’re being pretty hard on yourself. Were you using the subway?”
“Yeah. Don’t get me started.”
“Tough day?”
Chloe did not know how to respond. Had it been? No.
“It was a tough day,” Maggie continued. “I heard about the fire at Ellington, and I figured that was why you hadn’t shown. So anyway, if you’re still interested, then I’m still interested.”
“Really?”
“Of course.”
“That is so awesome of you!”
“It would be great to have someone working here who actually knows something about the products I’m selling. What about tomorrow same time?”
“Perfect!”
“But if you get held up again for reasons beyond your control. Call me. The subway will do you no favors.”
